    Chicken Quesadilla Explosion Salad
    Felicia C.

The wait staff were excellent. The manager Danny checked on us as well. I absolutely loved the Lemon Drop Margarita. My frozen Flamingo Margarita did not look like the picture but it was very good. I had the chicken quesadilla explosion salad with a cheese quesadilla. It was all served at proper temperature and well prepared.

I'm so surprised to be giving Chili's five stars but we had such a positive experience from beginning to end. I offered up Chili's as an option to my mom for dinner, and she made a face. "Isn't that a Mexican restaurant?" I told her that I've been seeing online their menu and food had changed. We arrived with skepticism but were seated promptly and attended to often. Based on the social media craze, we started with the fresh mozzarella which did pass the cheese pull test and were delicious. For dinner, my mom opted for a steak (cooked perfectly for well-done, look at how juicy!) and I tried their BBQ combo. Oh, my god. As I said, my expectations were low for chain restaurant BBQ but the ribs (and sauce) were so tasty, and the street corn a serious treat. Inside it's reminiscent of any other chain restaurant or Applebees-adjacent place. Ample tables, parking, drink menu, and unremarkable decor. But the menu options and food really stole the show for me today. Dare I say, I not only recommend but I'll be back???

We came here due only to a gift card (re-gift lol). It had been eons since Id last been. My tastes are much more refined than year's past! Our server, Kaitlynn, was a spunky little doll. We both had burritos - you assemble them yourself. Very good but a tad greasy and the steak was semi salty. Not a bad place, but not a place for this foodie!

The waitress that I had was named Alyssa. She was so patient with me, It was my first time ever coming to this restaurant and i've only seen things on social media. I had trouble ordering at first, but she was really sweet and helped me. My dad has an accent and it's tough understanding him, but she was patient and she understood him as well. The food was really good too. I got the big mozzarella sticks, crispers, and boneless bbq wings. Overall the food was warm, delicious, and filling. I am just really grateful for my server though and I hope she sees this. I feel like I wasn't thankful enough. Alyssa, if you're seeing this you're an amazing human being I pray that you have a wonderful life .

We didn't realize that the restaurant was a part of a country club until we arrived (no where in the reviews did it mention this) but we've done brunch at other country clubs throughout Jersey and it was wonderful. Upon entering the restaurant we saw their only brunch option was for a brunch buffet and from our quick scans of the buffet walking to the hostess stand we all decided we would not be doing brunch (pastries looked like they were from Coscto, warm food looked as though it had been sitting there for a while and the omelettes coming from the omelette station didn't look spectacular so we opted to do their lunch menu instead. Service was SSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWWW! From the very beginning until the very end. It took about 15 minutes before our server arrived to greet us, then another 15 for our first round of cocktails to come out, the about a half an hour for us to be told that they were out of 1 of the 3 appetizers we ordered ... so no lie, after being there a full hour we finally received 2 of the 3 appetizers and were then just able to order a second round of cocktails and our main courses. The cocktails weren't the greatest either. We thought perhaps the first round was our fault because we all tried their "blackberry espresso martini" and we knew it was a risk from the beginning ... so we ordered "safer" cocktails for round 2 and the prosecco based cocktails were even worse than the blackberry espresso martinis smh. I truly don't understand how one messes up prosecco + a splash of limoncello and cranberry (that was what was supposed to be in the cocktail) but they certainly messed it up, to the point where I didn't drink it. Our entrees finally arrived and WOMP WOMP WOMP! Overall every single one was MID at best ... and all I had was French onion soup and a wedge salad .... like how is it possible for those to be BLAH? Food was so MEH we didn't even take pics lol. Needless to say we all agreed we wouldn't be back and wished we had decided on what was our 2nd option for brunch instead.

There's two dining areas that can be chosen with one having a bar that can seat 10+ people. Started with a couple of great drinks and their french onion soup. The soup was topped with a cheese layer and pieces of crostinis within the soup. Great for a snowy day. The california chicken wrap was a big meal especially with the flaky french fries on the side. The sandwich needed more chipotle mayo on the side which was great for the fries. My medium rare wagyu burger with the bacon jam was HUGE! The jam did taste like beef jerky which was a new experience. We will definitely be back to try some of their other menu items.

The windows were open for a great breeze, though turning the fans on would've helped with the sudden heat. Our waitress was kind ,on top of everything, and our drinks were poured very well. The seasonal strawberry crush cocktail looked especially nice with the light shining through its red color. The chicken quesadillas were grilled crisp on the outside with fillings that blended together nicely. The southwest chicken salad was plated beautifully and, once mixed, had a crispy backyard BBQ kind of flavor. We've had generally decent service and somewhat inconsistent food, but it generally leans on the good side. Today was... interesting. The wings came out great. I usually order extra sauce bc, depending on the cook, the wings sometimes lack a lot of sauce. The cheesesteak came out good, but the cheese was basically all on top instead of mixed throughout. Weird. There was a sign in the door about $4 copper lager, one of my favorite beers. No dates or times listed. I asked our server about it and she mentioned it was on Tuesdays for club members. Nothing about that in the sign... Speaking of which, we've seen this server a bunch of times, but this was our first time with her. She was rude and inattentive. Dropped plates with no words. Barely checked on us. I don't know if she was in a bad mood or not bc I don't feel like we did anything to deserve the attitude. For almost $70 with tip, I expected more. I mentioned to my wife I don't want to go back anytime soon, especially with the kids. Too expensive for meh food with bad service. I'll just cook at home next time. So disappointed.

We ordered through Grubhub (they are not available on DoorDash), and the food arrived quickly and was bagged up nicely. The cheesesteak I ordered from their regular menu didn't seem to have much to it. The steak flavor was okay and the roll was super soft, but there just wasn't enough filling to justify the price, especially when you can find $18 cheesesteaks elsewhere that are absolutely packed. The hot and honey chicken cheesesteak had a tasty flavor and the sauce they use is spot on for that style of sandwich, but it still felt a little light on overall fullness. The fries weren't anything special, and some were sadly still cold and not salted. The poppers definitely seemed frozen and undercooked since you could still see the cheese inside separating instead of fully melted. Sadly, this either wasn't our moment to order from Champs or this is just the way they do things. Maybe we will circle back another time to give this Philly sports bar a second shot.

I mostly end up here because my friends like it -- not because it's my first choice. There are a few decent highlights: $2 lunches, live bands, and pool tables (though sadly, not free ). But overall, it feels like they're charging premium prices for dive bar quality. The last visit our martinis were so expensive! The food is just okay, and when compared to places like Dominic's Tavern, Bobby Ray's, Mulligan's, or Irish Hill, the beer and food specials are limited and not nearly as competitive. While they have a few specials during the games, they need to expand this thinking! And the outdoor area? Let's just say it's not the vibe -- smells like a dirty ashtray and feels like an afterthought. When I think of a comfortable outdoor hangout, The Rail in Barrington comes to mind -- clean, inviting, and somewhere you actually want to hang out. In short, The Spread has potential, but they've got work to do if they want to keep up with the better bars in the area.

No. It is simply a reliable hearth for hungry souls who adore breakfast food, lunch food, and dinner food in equal measure. And it is my dear mother's favorite diner in the area, which feels like a credential earned through decades of careful eating and limited dietary options thanks to a gallbladder that decided it had seen enough of this world. Service here approaches that shining ideal of Americana. The wait staff seem genuinely invested in your continued existence, keeping coffee cups filled and orders moving with calm efficiency. You are not rushed, forgotten, or treated like an inconvenience. You are treated like someone who came in hungry and intends to leave better than you arrived. The food is dependable in the most comforting sense of the word. The menu is typically Jersey diner broad and familiar, offering breakfast all day, sturdy sandwiches, omelets that know what they are doing, and classic diner dinners that arrive hot and generous. I've had the meatloaf with mushroom gravy, the French onion soup, the prime rib, and the French toast. Nothing is fancy or experimental. Nothing is trying to impress you. It simply aims to be good, and usually succeeds. The dining room itself is clean and comfortable, with the reassuring atmosphere of a place that has seen many regulars come and go and remembers them kindly. Families, couples, and solo diners all seem equally at home. You can order chicken croquettes or a country omelette and know exactly what you are going to get, which is a small but meaningful luxury in a world that so often overpromises and underdelivers. So I give the Black Horse Diner four stars. Not because it is extraordinary, but because it is steady, sincere, and reliably satisfying. Sometimes a solid meal served by capable people in a place that knows itself is more than enough.
