Stopped in 30 mins to close on my way from Phoenix to Denver and I cannot stop thinking about how amazing this place was!!! One of my fav Mac n cheeses I've ever had (so creamy with incredible spice!!!) and the pulled chicken sandwich was also incredible!! Great friendly service as well despite us coming in so close to close. I'll be crying about the fact that this place is about 9-10 hours away from me on a frequent basis lol. read more

Kirby Cosmo's BBQ Bar - Barbeque Near Me - Minturn, Colorado

Generous portions of delicious BBQ, and an amazing fried green tomato BLT. The perfect spot to stop in.

Solid, but not necessarily exceptional. Kinda dryish meats. The BBQ is about as good as you might expect in Colorado. Minturn is downmarket compared to nearby glitz and glamour, but overall, it's a fine setting. Staff is friendly, but not exceedingly memorable. If you're accustomed to Texas BBQ, curbing enthusiasm may go a long way. read more

This place is so awesome. We did a nice little hike then stopped on our way back to Vail to get some lunch and beers. Service was quick and the ambiance was small town perfection. I grew up in Baltimore, MD and was with my family. We all live in Denver now- haven't had wings this good- let alone old bay wings- in Colorado in ten years. We will definitely go back! read more

Kirby Cosmo's BBQ Bar - Old Bay Rub Winga - Barbeque Near Me - Minturn, Colorado

Sad to say that we had take out--a full slab of St. Louis ribs--and the ribs were fatty with little meat. I have been taking out for the past few years and would not order the ribs again. The service is great, and maybe I'll try another entree. read more

Came here for a change from vail. Really cool vibe here. Great service and the food pretty good. Beans good, corn bread and hush puppies were fire!! The brisket was just ok not great but the sauce was also good. Give this place a try it's worth coming to ! read more

Kirby Cosmo's BBQ Bar - Brisket - Barbeque Near Me - Minturn, Colorado

In Minturn, CO. This spot seems to have kept its old Colorado charm. Friendly, uncomplicated drinks, beers on tap and friendly people. We wanted BBQ on our way back to Denver and we decided to check them out. It's a small restaurant that's been operating for seventeen years. Customers seem to know one another. We tried their Half Rack baby back ribs and their Beef Brisket with a side of Fries and Fried Green tomatoes. Fall of the bones goodness for the rack. With high recommendations from both Google and Yelp. Minturn has a population of 1.033 as of 2020. It sits between the more popular resort towns of Vail and Beaver Creek. Was a historical gem in the Vail Valley for many years and sits at 10,250 feet. Stop and check this gem out! read more

The best BLT and potato salad I've ever had. Must go! We got takeout and it was delicious!

Had a great late dinner last night here. My boyfriend loves this place. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were awesome (and I should know I'm from Alabama). Then we both ordered a Carolina pulled pork sandwich. I loved everything about it from the pork to the bun to the coleslaw. For my sides I got the Mac and cheese and the jalapeño hushpuppies. I hadn't had a hushpuppy in years and these satisfied my craving. Our server/bartender was awesome and very friendly. She even let the kitchen know to stay open a little longer when someone walked in at close. There wasn't a lot of people in there when we went so it was pretty quiet. Overall we had a great time enjoying some great food! read more

Great Bar, Solid Q. We had been out driving and enjoying a beautiful fall day in CO. Found this great spot. Friendly local vibe with folks stopping by for a few drinks at the end of the day. I had the combo meal. solid sized portions of pulled brisket and pulled pork. Both were tasty with strong smoked flavor. mac and cheese and french fries were great. K had the blt with green tomatoe. Highly recommend read more

Maybe it was a fluke but this time around the food was pretty luke warm and cold. Still I'd recommend this place after coming here for years as a local. Service was pretty slow due to a single guys working but what can you do.... read more

Great barbecue and small town cozy feel. My husband got the brisket and I had the bbq sandwich. Both were excellent. They also do a good carry out business I could tell. Good choices of beers as well. Getting off the mountain resort food prices this is worth it for the price point. The bar tender gave great service. read more

The pig wings are amazing!! I got the "Thai Chili" sauce on them. That's going to be my whole meal the next time we get back there!!

Great service, so friendly and nice atmosphere. BBQ is amazing. Had the pulled pork sandwich. Was nice and juicy with a huge portion size. The mac and cheese is to die for, Homemade and with a little kick to it. I couldn't stop eating it. My husband has the same with the fired green tomatoes and they were divine. For sure a must hit place for good fresh down home bbq. read more

Had a very enjoyable lunch. Very friendly server/bartender. My wife had pulled pork & I had brisket-both very good. Interesting sides including fried green tomatoes. Good place to eat if want to get out of the resorts. read more

I really had high hopes for this place. Cool vibes, doors open and a cool breeze. Super friendly staff. The sides were really good. But the BBQ was just not good. They were out of pork (on a Saturday at 3pm). The pulled chicken was dry and had no flavor and had a whisper of sauce. I ended up taking it home for my dog and he sure liked it. The ribs were average. Needed some sauce or dry rub. As a BBQ joint to succeed, the quality of the BBQ will need to go way up. Especially off a major conduit close to Vail and a plethora of activities. I was so hungry that it would have taken little to make me happy. Left moderately disappointed. read more

Really enjoyed the food and the service. John behind the bar was running the place and doing an exceptional job. The pulled pork was great, as well as the fries. But the showstopper were the fantastic Pig Wings. read more

It was a nice place away from the busyness of Vail . Food was overall good and BBQ was good for not being a BBQ region. Brisket was good, smoked chicken was good. The jalapeño hush puppies were good and should be tried. They were not super hot spicy at all. The hand cut fries were really good too. read more

We stumbled upon Kirby's by accident and are so glad we did. The wings and ribs were out of this world. The server was so sweet and kind. We will be back every time we go to Beaver Creek! read more

Great food at a very reasonable price with excellent waitstaff. What more could one want?

Let's start with the positives: the potato salad was excellent and the sauces were great. I REALLY wanted to find a great bbq joint in the mountains. Sadly this was it. The brisket was tough as was the chicken, which was also dry. The service excellent and the bar is great. But if you want true bbq, stop in Lone Tree at GQ, and bring it up with you. read more

Me and my husband were on vacation in Vail and got sick of the bougie food and wanted REAL food lol we found Kirbys and we are so happy we did! We got wings ribs links hushpuppies corn bread and potato salad.... my husband also got baked beans ALL THE FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING!!! We had plenty of leftovers. The atmosphere is great (bar vibes) the server/bartender Patrick is an amazing representative of this place..... he is friendly and a very kind young man. We had a wonderful experience. We decided we may even take a day trip from Highlands Ranch to eat here again very soon read more

Stopped here for a quick lunch on our way home from Glenwood Springs and we were glad we found this place! We split a rib plate with sides of fried green tomatoes, potato salad, and corn bread. All was delicious. The potato salad was creamy and fresh without being too heavy. The ribs were smoky and tender. The only negative to me was that my ribs had more cartilage on them than I like. My personal favorite was the fried green tomatoes. Perfectly crispy and nice flavor in the breading. Definitely recommend getting a side of ranch to go with it - yum! Service was fast and very friendly. We'd definitely stop by again if we're in the area. read more

Worst BBQ I've ever had... couldn't even bite through the pulled pork. Nice guys but it makes why there was no line.

Oh my goodness. We found heaven on earth today with these Fried Green Tomatoes and pulled pork. The tomatoes absolutely are the best I've ever eaten and I've eaten my share to know. The batter was delicious, generously coating each slice and fried to perfection. The pork was tender and moist. Their two bbq sauces, hot and sweet, are flavorful without being over powering. Honestly we couldn't decide which sauce we liked best so we kept using both. The slaw was delicious and not over sauced making the sandwich soggy. It was perfect too. Can't forget the service and atmosphere. Extremely friendly and relaxed. The bartender / waiter fit the bill. He knows the menu, recommending the perfect sides for each sandwich. He was a delight. This is my new favorite place. I'm just wondering how long the Fried Green Tomatoes will be on the menu? Now to find more reasons to drive to Minturn though this dish is more than reason enough. read more

I had a great early dinner here the other night. The service was fantastic, the bbq was quality, but the fries and fried green tomatoes are what garners the 5 stars. Come check it out after a long day in the mountains. read more

Hands down the best Cheesesteak in Eagle Valley. It's funny that the best cheesesteak is at a BBQ restaurant but I highly recommend it.

We're always looking for new local places to try out when we're up this way. If you're in Minturn and wanting to try some bbq, come here. With Covid going on, the team was masked up with social distanced tables and bar seating. Very friendly team might I add. We were greeting instantly and told to pick a table. Water was brought to the table and we ordered a beer and a sweet tea. Great sweet tea btw, not too sweet and smooth. We each had the same special, two meat plate. It comes with two healthy servings of meat, two sides, and a piece of buttery cornbread. I asked what the house specialty was and it's the pulled pork and ribs. Both done nicely and not dry or too Smokey. They finish the ribs on the grill. Along side that we had potato salad and baked beans. I gave a four out of five stars because the beans and the sauce were good but needed a little extra something. Maybe mix some brisket, onions, and bbq sauce in the beans? The sauce again was good, but I think we like a spicier kick. Don't let that detour you from checking this place out! Potato salad was great and the cornbread was buttery. They offered banana pudding there as well, which looked great. We're glad we stopped here and we'll be back when we're in town. It's a great local spot in a quaint little mountain town! read more

Okay I have been visiting Avon, Colorado for years, but never stopped in the town of Minturn until now. I can't believe what I've been missing out on all this time! Kirby Cosmo's BBQ was fantastic all around. Amazing food, very well priced for the portions, and great service as well. Good bbq and a nice selection of beer, what more could you want? Heard about this place while walking through Vail during a weekend farmers market. Could smell the wonderful aroma when we first arrived and had a quick sample while walking around. Fast forward a few days later, was driving through Minturn after a morning of fishing and stopped in for lunch. The crowd was a mix of what appeared to be locals and a few tourists. Friendly bar tender suggested the ribs and a nice local beer. Had a great lunch and we stopped in here several times over the course of our stay. Try this place out if you are in Minturn. read more

Words cannot describe how good the food here is. I had BBQ pulled pork. 11/10. I also had the kielbasa which was the best I've ever had. Mac n cheese was amazing as were the beans. Great food and service! We came mid-afternoon for a snack and ordered some draught beer (Moose Drool) and the pig wings given all the recommendations on Yelp. The table next to us had fries that looked amazing (just real russet potatoes sliced and fried), so we added those, too. The pig wings were very subtly smoked to perfection so they weren't overpowered by the smoke, and are basically very tender BBQ ribs. We were told they use peach wood for smoking in order to impart just a subtle hint of smoke which was perfect for us. Loved everything! The bartender was pulling double duty at the bar and serving the restaurant, but I still found him to be friendly and attentive. We were outside on the patio with our dogs and he made sure to check in regularly, even bringing our pups iced water. Great food, great prices, and great service. We'll be back the next time we're in town! PS We ordered the banana pudding to go based on the reviews, and we just ate it now - delicious! It's like a light and fluffy banana mousse with sliced bananas and Nilla Wafer cookies imbedded in it. It really is fantastic. read more
