We just visited this place for the first time and loved it! I ordered the Mountain Cristo sandwich with pickled cucumbers on the side. My husband had the cheesteak sandwich with the slaw. Both were delicious and served with love. You order in the counter first and then they bring your food to you. Service is pretty efficient too. We also loved the ambiance with lots of European and Asian products on display. It is priced well for the area. For both sandwiches and two bottled drinks we spent around $45. Together, they definitely competed with one another in terms of the big flavored entrees and sides. The pickle was also very bold and zesty, but it was perfectly crisp. We stopped here on our way into Breckenridge for what we thought would be a fairly quick lunch. Our family of 6 (4 young kids) orders 4 sandwiches and we began our wait. We told our kids not to eat the chips that came with our meal and wait for their sandwiches, but after 15 min of waiting - we caved at let them eat the chips. Another 15 min later my wife got fed up and went to go check on our food. The server turns to check on our food and realizes it's just been sitting on the counter and he says "that's on me." So then he brings our sandwiches out to us which, upon eating had obviously been sitting there for probably 10-15 minutes. The sandwiches were cold, salty and even as hungry as we were tasted mediocre at best. read more

My first visit we had the Don Vito and the Mayflower, both were excellent, flavorful, complex, and substantial sandwiches. The Don Vito is one of my top 3 sandwiches ever. Thechopped castelvetrano and calabrian chilis were such a fantastic topping. Interesting and inventive sandwiches. Recently had the opportunity to try Pickled deli for lunch. This is such a cool location and restaurant in the area and I would happily come back to try more of their food. I ordered the Don Vito, or Italian sub and the potato salad as a side. This was a huge meal and the sub itself was very large. The salad had nice flavor, my partner ordered the Manhattan with tabbouleh as well as the mountain cristo and pickled cucumbers. The pickled cucumbers were so delicious. We enjoyed all the sandwiches, I do however wish that the Don Vito was either more balanced on the bread or it had less toppings. Everything fell off the sandwich and it was super messy to eat. The flavors combined were great and the meat tasted delicious so it's more a matter of form versus flavor. The views from the patio are great if the weather is nice and the service was kind. The sandwiches are tasty and the meat tender and flavorful. The Manhattan, a pastrami on rye sandwich, had a nice bite to it and the brown mustard it was served with was spot on. There was a big selection of sandwiches and salads and you could probably eat here for a few weeks and get something different every day for lunch. However -- for the prices, the portions are small. The sandwich pictured is about $16 with tax, and I was still hungry after eating it (and I am not a big guy or eater). Also, the menu is confusing. At the bottom they have a bunch of entrees listed; my crew was excited about the veggie enchiladas and Szechuan beef; when I called to order them they told me I had the wrong restaurant and they were a sandwich shop (?!) When I got there and spoke to the guy behind the counter he said those are just examples of things they made sometimes. None of the ones they did have in stock were vegetarian. Cookies were delicious and the shop is a nice space to browse and eat inside. Service was a bit slow--took about 30 minutes for 3 sandwiches and a salad. To find the perfect sandwich in Colorado has been a never ending search party I was losing hope for. As someone who has grown up delighting in culinary experiences across the country more than any other activity, I am so thankful to find this place. Being met with lychee vinegar, chili infused oil, ponzu, miso paste, canned sardines, and pickled olives in the storefront gave me much excitement. To see the kitchen utensils on the walls of their kitchen sit perfectly in large gutted Italian tomato cans was a perfect sign of home style food I knew would fill my stomach perfectly. Then came the food! Days before, I was explaining to my fiancée that while I love horse radish cream sauce, they tend to be heavy on the radish and not enough cream. Pickled created a horse radish aioli sauce that made me smile from ear to ear. Their bread was fluffy with a crunchy crust and soaked up the au jus without falling apart. Not all potato salad is created equal, and theirs is definitely top tier to any you've purchased or made within your own kitchen. You may come to this part of the valley for snowboarding and skiing, but I'll be frequenting for this sandwich shop alone. read more

The gentleman who took my order was holding a cheeseburger and eating it, the other gentleman making my sandwich was also eating a sandwich and making my sandwich at the same time. I've known the guys behind pickled for many years. They are seasoned restaurant professionals and all around great people. They have impeccable taste and know how to source the freshest produce and dig up artisan products from around the globe to bring them into the valley. What a gift it is to get out of the resort area and head west out to Eagle and find such treasures to take to go or eat in the restaurant. You get all the best of the Vail Valley foodie scene without any of the pretentiousness or high cost. Each dish is impeccably prepared and delivered in an upscale yet accessible, comfortable environment. Even the shop's music makes you feel good as you pick up your goodies. It's the perfect place to hang out for a bit or take something home fully prepared and ready to eat with friends and family. I've had some really great experiences here! The staff is always smiley and friendly, and personable! The food is always super good! my favorite is the arugula & avocado salad, and I honestly don't even like arugula but it just works well with the other flavors of the salad. The chicken curry salad is also super yummy and filling! They have an excellent selection of drinks to choose from as well. The location of the place is easily found, right off i70. Inside is super cute and cozy. The windows are big and I personally LOVE a nice bright room full of natural light. Overall, I'd say 5/5 cause they fill my needs every time I've went in. I'm not one to ever leave a bad review either, we all have our moments! We're human!
