Would have been a solid 4 or low 5 if it wasn't for the noodles. Ordered General Tso shrimp with veg fried rice. Excellent. About 10 huge shrimp, excellent sauce and perfect amount of light spice as requested. Veg fried rice was so loaded with vegetables it was amazing. Could have been a meal of itself. Egg roll was OK. The problem was the cold noodles with sesame sauce. Wow, it was bad. Thick, gelatinous, sauce that tasted of spoiled peanut butter. Removed 90% of the sauce hoop before trying. Barely had any on the one noodle I tasted. Directly to the garbage disposal with it all. Pony of wine needed to wash out the taste. Still in the back of my throat. Back home, cold sesame noodles are cold noodles with sesame oil and sesame seeds. Not sure what this was. read more

I ordered sweet and sour shrimp with chicken fried rice and crab Rangoon. They give me very bland food all way around. The shrimp dish was just battered fried shrimp with two containers the sauce. No vegetables at all. The rice was the worst I have ever eaten. It was steamed with a few bean sprouts and onion and chunks of steamed chicken breast. The Rangoon was nothing to speak of. Yep! You found it. This hidden gem is on point. Get extra egg and spicy fried rice! Its the bomb! Soups are hot and crab rangoon cheese is crispy and creamy. Never had a bad dish here. By far the best Chinese carry out restaurant in town! My friend and I ordered the Sesame Beef and Deluxe Lo Mein Noodles and the flavors were spot on! Growing up with parents who also owned a Chinese take out restaurant, I was impressed by the Sesame Beef because it was breaded correctly and was still crunchy even after it was cooked in the sauce. The lo mein noodles had just enough firmness to them and weren't overcooked. I would definitely recommend this place for your next Chinese take-out place! read more

The batter on the meat was hard and the meat was dry and tough for each dish I ordered. The sides I ordered were also not fresh. I might give this place a third try. So from out of time and wanted to try a new Chinese place. I have to say it's the best Chinese I've had in forever!!! The Chicken w/broccoli was spot on. The sauce was not overly thick and gumpy. The chicken was tender. The Mongolian beef was on point. Lots of onions, green and white. Beef was tender and the taste/texture was beef lol. If you eat chinese food you know how some of the beef gets. The soups, eggdrop and hot & sour, both tasty. Not overly cornstarchy and thick. I continue to order from King Shing because the food is good. However, the man taking the phone orders interrupts to the point that he gets the order wrong. I almost prefer to go there to give my order and wait outside for my food. It seems there's almost always something left out of my order. Lately, I've been trying to find a new favorite Chinese restaurant after Great Lakes shutdown... well, after visiting many Chinese joints, I think I have found my favorite place so far.... How did I conduct my test? Well, I ordered two of the same dishes at all the places I visited... - Egg Plant in Garlic Sauce and Chicken Broccoli - most places don't serve the egg plant, so I opted for these two. King Shing doesn't offer egg plant dishes, so I went with Chicken Broccoli dinner combo and beef chow fun.... The Beef chow fun as ok... had better... it had this weird taste that I could not get my finger on.... but as for the Chicken Broccoli... they have everyone else beat hands down in my opinion... the taste was awesome, flavor was great and I just couldn't stop eating it.... the fried rice that came with the dinner combo was excellent as well. The place isn't a 3 star Michelin place but it's a great place for Chinese food for the amount of money you pay.... this place also has the cheapest Chinese food, but typically when it's cheap, the flavors get affected... not here... I also tried the sesame chicken that my friend ordered, it was excellent as well. They offer delivery, but sadly not to my area... the construction around here should be done in about a month or so... so getting to the place should be a lot easier. read more

It had been a while since I ordered from this place, remembering that I wasn't overly impressed. Well, I was either remembering wrong or they've stepped up their game. I have a fairly standard group of items that I order from your average Cantonese restaurant because they are my favorites. And it gives me a good way to compare restaurants. Everything I ordered was delicious. Egg Foo Yung: 3 large patties, great gravy. Beef and broccoli: lots of beef, very tasty. Garlic and ginger broccoli: tasty with lots of garlic, but I would have appreciated more ginger. Singapore noodles was probably the only disappointment, but only slightly. Huge serving with lots of shrimp and pork and veggies. It just wasn't spicy enough. I had asked for 'moderate' spicy and I couldn't taste any spice of note. It was also lacking a bit in the background curry flavor that I think the noodles should have. Pork fried rice: good, but was what I would consider a small serving. All in all, I will order from them again. A bit pricey, but that's pretty much true of everywhere now. Recommended. read more

I ordered take away with fried shrimp green beans and general Tsao chicken What I received is shrimp that was hard flavorless and damaging to my mouth, green beans that had a over abundance of garlic but had zero flavor and General Tsao that should have been busted down to cadet in training for lack of well EVERYTHING! KS has become the Goldilocks of Chinese Food restaurants where the bears are saying this thing is too hard this thing is too soft and nothing is just right. We won't be coming back. read more

We've had take-out from this place a couple times, and I gotta say, everything we've had has either met or exceeded expectations. Their fried rice, especially, is exceptional, and my wife really loves their salt-and-pepper shrimp. Absolutely terrible. The maim issue os the food ks bland. Not flavor at all. The sauces were horrible. Even the fried items were bad. On top of that, we ordered $120 worth of food. We're visiting so we don't have any condiments. They literally provided us 3 packets of soy sauce and 1 packet of sweet and sour sauce which absolutely needed for the bland food. I had the sesame chicken and the shrimp fried rice. The chicken was tender and tasty, though they used breasts rather than thighs. The sauce was closer to sweet and sour than to the honey and soy I was expecting, but it was delicious nonetheless. The rice, an often-overlooked element, was perfectly cooked and had a nice subtle flavor. The fried rice did not come out until eventually I asked about it, but it was subsequently fried and served in record time. The rice is bright yellow for no discernible reason. It contains onion and bean sprouts but no peas or carrots, which aligns with my preferences nicely. The shrimp is not overcooked. There's a good measure of wok hei in the onions and egg. It's an excellent fried rice despite the color. Service was friendly. If you're craving American Chinese food, this is exactly what you need. read more

This place has THE best fried rice! It has such a great flavor. Their teriyaki chicken on a stick is great, but the crab Rangoon isn't my favorite. This Chinese food reminds me of buffet Chinese food. Not bad but not that great either. I was in the area and decided to give this place a try. I ordered a medium chicken lo mein, D8 sweet and sour chicken sub pork fried rice for shrimp fried rice, with a side of chili oil. Total was $19+. The fried rice is yellow, which I've only had at Chinese buffets. I'm used to the soy sauce stained fried rice. The rice is okay, the sweet and sour chicken is good, but this lo mein... chile, no. It has no flavor besides the chili oil I put on it. Before adding the chili oil, the noodles were already greasy af and overcooked. The restaurant smelled of bleach (not a bad thing to me). They had just mopped the floors- clearly. Overall it wasn't bad, but I will not be back. I also have leftovers which I'm not thrilled about, but at least there was enough food for another meal to be had. read more
