Came here for my birthday lunch and it was so yummy! We ordered the Phuket and Thailand Sunrise cocktails, were both really good. For our entrees we ordered Northern Style curry and Thai Basil chicken, both amazing. One thing I like is that you are able to customize the spice level. They also gave us a complimentary mango sticky rice which honestly changed my life. Can't wait to come back! read more

Overall, I think it's a solid place. I would come back. I wouldn't get the pad Thai again though. I'm a huge pad Thai fan but I've had better. It was a bit westernized but the food was still tasty. I didn't like the dumplings as much as I thought I would. I highly recommend the panang curry WAS AMAZING. You have to try that dish! It was delicious. I like the ambiance. It was very chic, modern, and I loved the live music. It's definitely a nice place to have a dinner date at. It is on the pricier side due to the location, it isn't your typical Thai food spot that is a mom or pop restaurant. I would come back. The only complaint I had was, it took way too long for the waiter to get to us. We waited more than 20 minutes. We were going to wait until someone came to us. Unfortunately, we had to flag someone down and it seemed like they totally forgot we were at the table. In addition, water was leaking and dripped all over my dress from the ceiling lol. It was my birthday and I kind of wish it didn't get on my new dress haha. Besides that, I thought it was cute that they had "HBD" letters when you come and celebrate with them. :) read more

Read really good reviews about this places and was super excited to try it out. Once we were seated, we sat there waiting for the waiter for 20 mins while the waiter and waitresses were standing in the corner talking. They didn't even tried to make eye contact to see if we were ready. read more

Very relaxed atmosphere and the flower dumplings are amazing A definite go to restaurant for us

Made a reservation for Friday evening. Staff was very nice when we arrived. Waiter was so friendly and helpful. Started with money pockets appetizers. Very tasty. Had a cocktail called Purple Rain. It was delicious! Not too sweet. Loved the Thai basil in it. Drunken noodles with combo chicken and shrimp was very good. My husband ordered Hot Pork Noodle Soup and raved about it. Love the style of the restaurant and very clean. A great experience all around. read more

Great Thai restaurant in the heights with pretty good dishes. Their spice levels hit well if you like it spicy. I recommend their app sampler and crab fried rice. The noodle dishes can be a hit or miss depending on what you get. read more

This appears to be a new Thai restaurant that is tucked away in a strip center with other businesses. I don't think I'll be returning as I'm very picky on Thai food. The service, while our waiter was very sweet, it was lacking in speed, it took quite a while just to receive drinks and water. Going on a Wednesday night is not suggested if you plan on having any type of conversation on the inside as it is "Ladies Night" and they have "performers" throughout the night, as the evening goes on, it strangely turns into a nightclub vibe, which I don't mind....in an actual club, not a restaurant. I wasn't a fan of the food, chicken satay was dry, peanut sauce didn't taste like anything at all and had a strange, chunky consistency. I was disturbed that the Pad Thai does not come with any heat, yet I can add it on the side, in addition to the fact that it comes stuffed inside of eggs, looking like an omelet. If you like sweet drinks, then their cocktails will be for you. All in all.....I've tried many Thai restaurants in the city and I'm always disappointed and end up back at Thai Gourmet on Richmond Ave. read more

We made reservations for 7 PM on a Saturday night. The tables were spaced out pretty well, all waiters were wearing masks and gloves, and their menu was purely digital. They did a great job adhering to COVID guidelines. Unfortunately, this new restaurant is still trying to get a hang of how to operate on a busy weekend. It took around 10 minutes for our waiter to come by and take our drink and appetizers order. He said he'd come back to get our entree orders, but disappeared after that... like actually disappeared. After we asked the manager a couple times, they finally sent over a new waiter. 30 minutes in, we still didn't have any food. None of the tables around us had food either, and they had all been seated before we arrived. By 9 PM, we still hadn't gotten our entrees. We also noticed a number of people come in for to go orders and overheard their complaints about not getting the right order or waiting a couple hours without getting their food. Now on to the food - for appetizers, we had the purple flower dumplings, the all in one appetizer platter, and the papaya salad. The purple flower dumplings were aesthetically pleasing and surprisingly tasty. The filling is a savory and sweet peanut filling. The papaya salad lacked some of the key flavors of Thai papaya salad, like dried shrimp and peanuts. The all in one platter was decent. For our entrees, we got the pad Thai, khao soi (northern curry), dried pork noodles, spicy pork noodle soup, and the tom yum soup. The pad thai had a coyingly sweet taste. The northern style curry was fragrant, but didn't taste balanced for some reason. Most of the noodles were overcooked, and nothing was memorable. Most menu items were also pretty overpriced. Being that this restaurant is relatively new, I hope they can continue to improve their service, hospitality, and recipes. read more

3 stars on a good day and closer to 2. All the sauces and taste missed the mark. Not sure how they got such a high rating. It resembles Thai without Thai flavor. read more

They do not even have option to call in to order food..... and the online order system taking 40 mins to be ready.. oh... also the price is like 50% more than all the other Thai places I have been to. I wonder if the taste can beat the Thai gourmet on the Richmond ave read more

Limmated menu. Good food. Excellent atmosphere. Positive upbeat staff. On Saturday night be sure to make reservations!

We love variety of the food. One of our Favorites are Fried rice and Pad Thai. Their drinks are great too. Staffs are very friendly and love the ambiance. Definitely going to come back! read more

Kin Dee - Yummy drinks - Thai Near Me - Houston, Texas

Kin-Dee as a restaurant is great! 10/10 have visited and recommended thousands of times. However, my experience tonight was horrendous. Manager Jason, came to my table and asked us to leave TWICE! His reason being was because the table my friends and I were at was "reserved" for a specific time. He even suggested moving us to a table outside in 90 degree weather! Mind you there were numerous other options for seating to accommodate parties of 4+. The wait staff and servers were outstanding. Cannot commend our waitress Sunny enough. Even the wait staff was in disbelief that the MANAGER was shooing us out. I'm so upset that this happened especially since Kin-Dee hold a special place in my heart with everything they do for childhood cancer with Candlelighters. As a committee member, I'm so heartbroken to have experienced this discriminating treatment and really hope upper management addresses this situation with Jason. As mentioned before, I love the restaurant and other staff. I just have never felt so belittled as Jason made my table feel. read more

The experience was 10/10. The food is amazing, but what really made dinner so amazing was Tracy!! She provided the best dining experience I have ever had. Tracy was very tentative and provided excellent suggestions. read more

I gotta say the food was not great and definitely not authentic. Too overpriced and tiny portions. There are so many better places for curry or pad thai. This place has nice decor, and the location is very nice since it's its the height. It's a cute place to go for a date and they even have love music. read more

We found this place on a total whim and what a delight it turned out to be! The food was really flavorful and unique (Thai flower dumpling). I got the Pad Thai but the person I was with got one of the curries and even mentioned that the meal was really balanced with regards to chicken and veggies. Some places skimp on the chicken for the veggies and she was really impressed. The shopping center it's in is really cute too. It almost looks like nothing from the main road but when you go around the building to parking you see the many many businesses in the area. Kin Dee also nailed the little details such as nice utensils that make you feel fancy. We happened to go on a live music night and were sat right next to them so it did get a little loud but if you ask to sit further away I'm sure conversation wont be an issue. read more

I have only been once, but I enjoyed everything that I tried. The dishes I tried include: Mango sticky rice, money bags, the tiger cry, and shrimp in a blanket. Drinks: purple rain, mango mai Thai, & royal orchid. read more

CONS: Their Pad kee mao aka drunken noodles tasted just like Pad see ew. I've been to plenty of Thai restaurants and can tell the difference in flavor. At first we ordered the Chicken pad kee mao and I knew it had more of a pad see ew flavor, mentioned it to the waiter but he insisted that it's pad kee mao so I decided to order another pad kee mao this time with shrimp and it tasted slightly different than the first plate. The shrimp one had about 2 leaves of basil and I don't think the chicken one had any. I feel the basil leaves is what makes it such a big difference in taste. For someone who doesn't eat much Thai food they would probably like this but for someone like me who loves Thai food and likes to explore Thai restaurants, this dish itself didn't taste authentic, unless the chef didn't make the dish correctly, Idk. Also, I really wanted to try those pretty flower dumplings but they were out, I came on a Sunday at 1pm. PROS: Very Nice atmosphere. I Loved the live music, her voice was beautiful and soothing. The Money bag appetizer and mini leaf wraps were delicious. The mini leaf is an acquired taste but I'm for that. The Thai boat noodle had great flavor but portion was small and it did not come in a boat bowl like shown in pictures. read more

Loved this place. Went here for the first time and each item that we ordered was of amazing quality - chicken wings, papaya salad, thai fried rice. And the ambience is great too. I definitely recommend it. read more

It took 30 minutes for our main course to come out, 1 hour for our appetizer and another 30 minutes for our dessert. We spent 2 hours at the restaurant waiting for 3 food items. The server was really apologetic so we didn't make a big deal but still, 2 hours is a bit ridiculous. Also the portion sizes are really small. Our total came out to be more than $60 for 2 people but we left still unsatisfied and somewhat hungry. read more

As a vegetarian, there were a million options to choose from at Kin Dee. Kin Dee is definitely my new favorite htown Thai spot. Ever since a trip to Thailand a few years ago, I'm on a constant hunt for amazing Kha Soi (Northen Curry). Kin Dee is the best I've found in Houston by far! FYI there is shrimp paste in the broth, so not suitable for strict vegetarians, but if you're flex, this is a must try!! The drink menu was amazing and both the drinks pictured were equally delicious! No one at the table got a cocktail they didn't love. I got the famous purple dumplings and the awesome waiter went over how to craft the perfect bite and he was spot on!! Those are addicting and I highly recommend trying them. The service was fantastic and they really went the extra mile to help us celebrate a friends birthday. I'll keep going back to this place for sure. There's a huge parking lot in the back, it's easy to get a table and there was live music inside. read more

Service was great! The flower dumplings do not contain meat, but all the herbs and seasonings make it one of the most flavorful, yummy dumplings ever. We also tried the soup which was also 10/10. I got the Tom Yum soup extra spicy and got egg noodles and the broth/soup portion was so good and the shrimp did not taste fishy. Thai tea was made to perfection! Overall nothing but good things to say about the food and service we received. read more

I had the drunken noodles. The food was so spicy, I couldn't really enjoy my lunch. I would like to go back and try something else to see if the experience is better, but be careful when you order. My stomach was pretty upset afterwards. read more

Lots of better Thai places in Houston Portions are small If you want to add extra protein for an extra charge they won't do it because " they don't want to alter the recipe" Service was kind of slow when there were 3 or 4 tables to serve The food tasted good and the desert was good too I would go again but for light dinner and drinks, if you are very hungry don't expect to be full with one entree read more

First time here for recommendation. Everything is pretty good, sadly the run out of food quickly, so you are out of option sometime. Service is very good. Drinks are tasty. Highly recommended, just get there very early if you want to try everything read more

The greatest service we have received since my son was born. My son received special attention from the staff, particularly Sunny and OJ, after they realized he was wanting attention.
