Absolutely love this spot. Always consistent flavor, beautiful presentation, great customer service and portions are perfect! Their pad thai has a wonderful tamarind flavor savory and comes in a wrapped egg crepe, you cut open and the pad thai noodles are inside, a unique and delicious dish! Glass noodles were fresh and lemon flavor so yummy and light! The Thai dumplings and money bag appetizer are always something to order when I come here! What I order all 10/10 : Thai dumpling flower Money bag Shrimp glass noodles Path Thai chicken Coconut curry chicken Sticky rice mango
Great experience with so many flavors. This was a wonderful foodie experience. The interior is unpretentious and comfortable. The service was a bit slow but the food made up for that. We tried the variety appetizer which was a great way to start the meal and also got a Pannang curry which was superb
I thought this place was pretty good. The money bags appetizer was very flavorful, but it was a bit pricey. In my opinion. I also got the glass noodle dish for Houston restaurant week, which was pretty good as well, but not my favorite to be honest. I think there was an herb in the dish that I did not care for, so there seem to be a bit of an aftertaste for me. I also thought the prices here were pretty high compared to some other Thai places I have been to I really did love the service and atmosphere though! My favorite dish was the mango sticky rice dessert!
Cute little Thai restaurant in a very nice location. We came on a Tuesday for lunch and it was not busy. The waiter Miguel was really nice and attentive. To eat we got the panang curry and pad Thai. Two dishes easily feeds 3 as they are big portions.
We really enjoyed our experience here! We came for Houston Restaurant Week. I got the papaya salad, which I wasn't a big fan of personally, but I think others would enjoy it. It was my first time trying Drunken Noodles, and I was not disappointed! The flavors were on point, though, in terms of spice, I wish it was spicier. I asked for the spiciest they had and it was more mild than anything. The mango sticky rice can with a scoop of coconut ice cream, which was perfect with the sticky rice. And the mango was perfectly ripe, sweet and tart, perfect. I think the coconut ice cream is needed with the rice, without the ice cream, the rice isn't very sweet and doesn't have much of a taste really. I LOVED the decor, the silverware (goldware really lol), and the dishes, absolutely beautiful. Outside of the HRW, their prices are up there, but I'd come back to treat myself for sure!
Kin Dee delivers the kind of dining experience that feels like a warm handshake the moment you walk in...the atmosphere is inviting and comfortable...setting the tone right away...we were greeted by the hostess and seated promptly...which always earns points in my book. Not long after...our waiter came by...introduced himself...and made us feel right at home...we started off with a couple of drinks that were well-made and refreshing...along with a few appetizers that definitely set the stage for what was coming next. For the main course...I ordered the Thai omelet with crab meat...and let me tell you...that dish was a showstopper...packed with flavor...perfectly cooked...and just downright delicious. From start to finish...the entire experience was top-notch...great service...great atmosphere...and even better food...Kin Dee is definitely a spot I'll be coming back to.
Went to Kin Dee for lunch in the heights! Thankfully there's a huge parking lot so you don't have to worry about street parking. I got the pad Thai with chicken and also had a taste of the shrimp tom yum soup. The pad Thai is wrapped in an egg blanket, which is apparently the authentic way. I prefer it where the egg is more cooked and spread throughout the dish though. I felt like the tamarind flavor was a bit lacking here compared to other places, but don't let the size fool you. It's actually pretty heavy since it's compressed to fit inside the egg. The tom yum soup was solid if you love sour flavors
I really love the Kin Dee Thai aesthetic. The space is modern, clean, and just really well designed. The marble tables are a nice touch, and they also have outdoor seating, which would be perfect on a nice day. The atmosphere made it easy to chat and actually enjoy the experience without feeling overwhelmed, which I appreciated. For drinks, I had the lychee martini, and it was really great. It came with a nice garnish (including apple), and the flavor was on point. For food, I had the Kindi fried rice, which I really enjoyed. My friend also ordered a chicken fried rice, and that looked good as well. They do have soy sauce nut you have to ask for it. I do wish I could get fried rice (instead of regular) with one of meat entrees instead of having to get both or choose between but the waiter said that was not allowed. I also tried the mango sticky rice, and unfortunately, that was not my favorite. I did not finish it, and it is not something I would order again. Something about it just did not quite sit for me. Overall, I really liked the space and the vibe. I would definitely go back and try more items on the menu.
Stopped by here for takeout the other day to pick up dinner. Ordering was easy and the food was ready in 15 min or so. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating if eating there though! Everything was so good! Loved the pad thai, among the best I've had. Also loved the Khao soi, the curry was so flavorful! Cashew chicken was good though I might consider something different next time. Highly recommended for Thai food , worth a drive.
Had some lovely thai food at Kin Dee. Started with two appetizers. First were, of course, the Flower Dumplings because just look how beautiful these are of course I'm gonna order it. Had a nice crunchy peanut filling! Second we also had the Chicken Satay which were pretty simple, grilled chicken with a peanut sauce, but good! For my main I chose the Premium Tiger Cry which was a marinated steak that was cooked well, but it came with this unbelievable sauce that like shocked me at how good it was omg. It was called North Eastern Special Sauce which I'm not sure what that means but wow thats divine like I don't think Ive ever tried a flavor like this sauce before. Rice and veggies were good and loved the little container the rice came in. For dessert I had a Thai Tea Creme Brûlée which yes, it is as good as it sounds. Also had a cocktail called this Asia-tini which was a lychee-pear-sake martini, very yum!
Solid Thai food, and prices aren't crazy given inflation and the Heights location, so that was an unexpected surprise. Service is good. I really like that lots of items on the menu had photos, it definitely helps set expectations of what you're actually getting. I got the Northern Style Curry (Khao Soi), which came with a whole chicken quarter. Slightly disappointed with the minimal pickled mustard greens that I LOVE having with my Khao Soi. My girlfriend got the Shrimp Tom Yum, which I thought was a bit watery and didn't have enough sourness to it. Slight smell to the tap water/glass, but that might be Houston ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Server was friendly, and parking was easy. Bonus, they're on InKind, so you can save some money with the offers and Costco giftcards.
Good place to get Thai food, clean and modern spot for any occasion. I think the waiter forgot about me, waited about 10 minutes to finally order. The food was good, not too oily or greasy. Good portion sizes. The egg was smaller than most places I've been. I'd considering coming back and trying their other items.
I hadn't been to Kin Dee in years. I had gone once during Houston Restaurant Week and remember not being all that impressed, but the restaurant sent me a coupon not long ago for $50 off my meal as a returning customer. How could I turn down a free $50? So, I decided to give the restaurant another chance, and I'm glad I did! Parking was easy, although we went earlier in the evening. I know that particular lot to get pretty full pretty quickly. We also made a reservation, so there was no wait at the restaurant. The ambiance was great - more upscale than what I am typically used to for Thai food, and their place settings were beautiful. I did have to ask for a clean glass because mine was dirty, but the wait staff ameliorated that quickly. We ordered several dishes including the drunken noodles, Pad Thai, and Panang curry. Each dish was delicious and beautifully presented! My favorite was the drunken noodles - pad kee mao with a combination of proteins, veggies, and Thai basil. So yummy! The portion sizes were generous and ordering family style was a great way to try several dishes. The price tag is a little hefty for Thai food. Even with my $50 off, I still paid a good amount for the meal. Kin Dee is a great place to visit for good Thai food, but not if you are on a budget!

The food here was delicious and the presentation was spectacular! I really enjoyed the drinks - lots of fun to get your drinks in a pineapple (our entire group each ordered one!) there was live music that was also super enjoyable. Seating is available both inside and outside and everything was pretty clean. Definitely going to visit again when I am in Houston! read more

My friend and I came here for the first time and were left disappointed with the experience. The 2 stars are for the 2 cocktails we ordered because they were good. As for the dishes, they were mediocre for the price. Definitely not authentic Thai food. The food we ordered, penang curry and pad thai, came out SUPER fast, 5-10 mins after putting the order in which was very suspicious. We were shocked. The dishes were cold, not even room temperature, so we believe they either make popular dishes beforehand or gave us food from another table that gave it back and forgot to microwave it before giving it to us. The live music was super loud that it was hard to have a conversation with each other. Nevertheless, we probably won't come again. You can definitely find better quality Thai food for half the price at another location. read more

Hi Keri,…
Came here for dinner and sat on their outdoor patio. Instead of ordering off the HRW menu, we decided to do family style instead to have a variety of different options. The entrees on the HRW menu didn't really appeal to us. For appetizers, we ordered the "all in" which was a sampler of 5 different appetizers-the money bags, chicken cups, pork skewers, pork meatballs, and chicken skewers. The table favorite was the pork skewers. They were tender and very flavorful. The chicken skewers were a close favorite but one skewer was drier than the other. The peanut sauce was really good though and helped with the dryness of the chicken. For the entrees we got the combo pad Thai and the casseroled shrimp. We also liked the combo pad Thai better cause it had more flavor and depth. The casseroled shrimp wasn't bad but I would have liked some extra oomph or seasoning to help balance out the dish. It was pretty bland. I had to give it 4 stars cause it wasn't the best Thai food I've had but super cute ambiance. read more

I've been to this place since their first week of operation. The service, presentation, atmosphere was always so good. Time had fly and things had change, for my past 2 visits the curry was too salty to consume (I've ordered both green and red), grounded pork on my platter has a nasty taste. Luckily the grilled pork was so good! Well marinated and perfectly cooked never go wrong with this dish! read more

Hi Brandon,…
Great food, great service, great ambience. Overall excellent dining experience. We had the papaya salad, flower dumplings, pad Thai, and mango sticky rice. We were not disappointed by any of the dishes. The papaya salad and pad thai had perfectly balanced flavors. The papaya salad was nice and spicy too :) if you can't handle spicy, go with mild and not medium for the papaya salad. The sticky rice was lightly flavored with pandan - unique! The mango was perfectly ripe and sweet, but of course that heavily depends on seasonality too. The flower dumplings were so good and felt very special. They have a very chewy exterior that is unlike other dumplings with thin skins you may be thinking of. They provide you Thai chili and parsley, and instruct you to stuff the dumpling with a bit of both and then eat the dumpling whole. It's a whole new experience, and yes, it is super tasty. I wholeheartedly recommend! read more

Everything was delicious!! We started with the All In One appetizer - highly recommend if you are with a small group or would even make a great main course! It has a little bit of everything. For the main, my friend got the drunken noodles w/ shrimp...delicious! I ordered the Thai basil chicken w/ fried egg (a must!). So flavorful! Each bite was as delicious as the first. For dessert we had to try the mango sticky rice. Wow! So refreshing and the perfect ending to a fabulous meal! The portions are generous. Come hungry! Overall, great experience, service (staff is incredibly courteous and professional), and of course, food! read more

Coconut Milk Outlet FIRST: We placed an order for curb side pick-up. Called the number as suggested, it goes to voice mail, so I had to go inside the restaurant to pick up my order. So much for social distancing! THE FOOD: We ordered the following: "Money bags"-- These are basically grease filled grease pockets. Kin Dee Fried Rice - Absolutely no flavor. Extremely greasy and just a lumpy rice ball. Southern Style Green Curry and Penang Curry - Both these dishes are absolutely flavorless and loaded with just coconut milk/cream. It sure is a "fancy" place compared to other Thai places in the area, if that is what you are looking for. But I will stay with my Asia Market on Fulton, next time. This was a Yelp sponsored business. This is my third experience with a "sponsored business" or recommend business, so going forward I will never rely on this because I suspect they are buying their reviews. read more

Mondays are a great day to try Kin Dee if you haven't already. They have this wonderful sampler that feeds two. You get a little taste of everything to see what you want for the next time. Because I guarantee once you try the dumplings and the money bags, you'll be hooked! They are both individually filled with so much flavor and spice. We had an amazing experience with Sunny and the whole team here at Kin Dee. Highly recommend. read more

Authentic representation of Thai Cuisine through its unique flavors. I ordered the Thai Flower Dumpling. The pretty purple and gorgeous presentation attracted me to order this dish. The unique flavors got me wanting more! Perfect for date night as the place is beautiful and has live performances! Definitely need to check out this place when you're in town! This is our second time at this lovely restaurant. We have been craving the Pad thai since our very first visit, Christmas day. Service is immaculate, Daniel was very attentive and knowledgeable with the menus. I highly recommend the all-in-one appetizer so you can try the best of all worlds. This will probably be our staple Thai restaurant from now on. I would 10/10 recommend. read more

I used to drive past this area all the time and I was finally able to stop by and try the food. I love the ambiance, service and food. This was my first time trying thai food and my food was amazing. My friend and i had the pad thai and thai basil chicken. I will definitely be coming back to this place. It was pretty busy for a Friday night, but the wait was not too long. First of all, kudos on the concept! So nice to see a thai restaurant go to the next level. Being as i work in asia, i know real thai food and presentation. This restaurant delivers. The tastes are definitely authentic but also not too foreign for those American palets that are adventurous but also want something they can enjoy. Love the staff's attitude and the bar tender was super cool. Cocktails are definitely a must try! I found a favorite but not going to say what it is, hahah Thanks Kin Dee! You brought the special flavors and beauty of Thailand to Houston! :) Well be back and hope to see more! read more

Wow, what a surprise treat this was! Coming into Houston for parents weekend and we luckily stumbled upon this hidden Thai jewel! The drinks were unique and very tasty. We had to try the flower dumplings and money bag appetizers and both were very tasty. For the main course we had the panang curry, northern style curry and the drunken noodles. Medium spice gave it enough flavor without be overly spicy for those who don't like the major heat. We tried the Thai tea crème brûlée, the pandan cake and coconut ice cream with mango and everything was spot on and so tasty. It's not a large venue as it is in a strip center but has an upscale ambiance and plenty of parking. The service was outstanding from start to finish. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and made some great suggestions. This is a must try off the beaten path restaurant. read more

Ask the Community - Kin Dee
Are they pets friendly?
Although they love our Fur babies. Pets are not allowed inside the restaurant.
Are they family/kid friendly? Or more of a date/HH spot?
More date/HH; but there is a front or back patio which might be more conducive for families.
Do they have vegan options or offer tofu? I didn't see tofu as an option on their menu.
Yes
Do they have happy hour?
Yes, wasn't super impressed with the HH. Good food, but would choose Thai Gourmet any day over it.
