Kimchi Fried Rice (V)
Oulimata D.

I am not a huge fan of rice, but the Kimchi Fried Rice was pretty good. I also don't like kimchi, but again, this rice was good, so I imagine if you enjoy this kind of food, you would like Kimchi Red. They give very big portions and are willing to make accommodations. I ordered about 5 minutes after the person I was with and realized that she wanted her egg cooked well, so I asked if they could update her order and they did! When I went to order, I wasn't familiar with any of the food on the menu and the server took time to explain everything and even made recommendations. Once I figured out my order, I requested no egg and they also made that accommodation. The service and food were both great. I would recommend for anyone that likes fried rice:) Just a heads up, this location isn't in its own store, it is within a mini shopping area with multiple food options. I absolutely loved the space. On certain days, they have a DJ and other days they have Karaoke. I stumbled upon this spot and will definitely return!

Kimchi fried chicken (signature) - a bit overpriced but quite good

TLDR: 9/10 very crispy, very juicy, chefs secret and soy garlic are my favorite. If you prefer with no sauce, get the KCrispy. Second time at kimchi red, first at this location and it's still my favorite Korean fried chicken in Atlanta. The batter is super crispy and not too heavy, while the meat inside is very juicy. I prefer drums over flats even though they can be a little more dry, but all of my drums were moist. We shared with as a group of 7 and got 2 whole orders and 3 half orders. We got a whole of the kimchi topped fried chicken, and the soy garlic, along with half orders of snow cheese, chefs secret, and k crispy (original). All the sauced up orders held up well while we were there. The soy garlic was a bit salty at first but only for the first wing My personal favorites were the chef secret, soy garlic, and kimchi fried chicken. The KCrispy was really good too, I just prefer saucy Korean fried chicken. Sadly the snow cheese was the only miss, I thought the flavor was too sweet and a bit like corn(?) and it was the only dry order. Oddly it was also the only one with thighs instead of wings. Located inside of Politan Row, there was ample seating at 430 PM on a Sunday. You bus your own tables and the vibe inside is pretty nice.

It was my first time trying this chicken joint after I had heard great things on the internet! I went for the chicken plate with no sauce. The plate was great, but don't know if it lived up to the hype. It was about $17 with tax and included white rice, glass noodles and 3 chicken wings. The chicken was indeed the showstopper! It was flavorful even without any sauce on top. The glass noodles didn't have the best texture to me and were probably my least favorite part of the dish. The kimchi was just pickled purple cabbage to my impression. Overall this was a good choice for lunch but I'm not sure I would go out of my way to try it again.

Kimchi Red is delicious and lives up to the hype for me personally! The portion size is enormous and be warned, when they say it is spicy, IT IS SPICY! I'd definitely come back if I had more people to eat with me. Recommendation, eat it there, fresh and don't get it to go as I'm unsure if the sauce on the side is the way to go!

Unfortunately, I experienced food poisoning at Kimchi Red AGAIN, which helped me realize why. Authentic Korean fried chicken traditionally does not use dairy, yet it's present in their recipe. While the flavor was improved compared to my first visit, the chicken was dry and lacking depth. I actually enjoyed the flavor, but it's far from the best in Georgia. If you have a sensitive stomach, dairy allergies, or prefer food that feels more authentic, this may not be the right place for you. Warning: during my visit, a little girl was screaming about a cockroach at this location.

Good not great. We have been going to the original location in Alpharetta so chose this new location inside Politan Row at The Forum. FOOD OPTIONS: the menu options were a bit confusing with the +1/+2 next to the original chicken options. The cashier did help us with this. VALUE: the price for the food is a little on the $$ end (ex: $9 for 1 serving of fries).

This place is hands down have the best Korean fried chicken period. This is my second Kimchi Red location I've been to. I have to say they are pretty consistent with the John's Creek location. They have so many flavors to choose from. They make everything fresh to order so it takes a while but it's worth it!

Awesome

The chicken was awesome, the kimchi fried rice as well, would give 10 stars if I could..... jaw dropping.... 67

Question: "So, is this the best fried chicken you have ever had?" Answer: "I can't think of any that I have had better." I have had this place 3 times and each time they are consistent and remain delicious. I have come with family and friends introducing them to Kimchi Red and they all leave with the same feeling, "the chicken is so juicy and fried to perfection." I have had the Rose Chon, Soy Garlic Pepper, and Red Buldak. All of the dishes are unique and offer something for everyone's tastes. My favorite is the Red Buldak. The creaminess of the ramen, combined with the crispy fried chicken, then topped with the egg is a delightful combination. Don't let the spice steer you away. You can ask them to tame it down to your preferred spice level. One order of the chicken is definitely enough to share between at least two people, three if you are not big eaters. Do not be afraid to get at least two orders so that you can try more than one dish. Leftovers heat up great in the oven or air fryer. They provide plastic gloves for eaters who do not want their hands dirty. Inside the restaurant is small and the place has been full every time I have been. Either get there on off hours or be prepared to wait a bit. They cook the food fresh, so you will wait a bit after you order. However, the staff does a great job pumping out the orders. They are very friendly and provide great recommendations on their favorite dishes. I will keep coming back until I try all of the dishes!

Snow cheese

This place is not bad but a bit overhyped by social media. Got to try the snow cheese, spicy jeonju, kimchi fried chickens, tteokbokki, and a side of rice. This location is located in Politan Row so lots of seating. Staff were nice and food came out in a reasonable time. I enjoyed the snow cheese and spicy jeonju. Crispy chicken and nice and flavorful. Kimchi looks good for the camera but uncrisps the chicken and it gets soggy. The meal was def on the heavy side so I was pretty full after a piece of each and a small tteokbokki. The tteokbokki was pretty good and standard - I appreciated the option of a small size. My husband loves rice and needs it in every meal lol but was very disappointed that his rice was undercooked. Probably won't return but it was fun to try.

We drove almost forty minutes to try Kimchi Red's new location in the Forum's Politan Row Food Hall that we were super excited about. Safe to say that although this location is in a food hall, flavors and quality are exactly the same as the Suwanee location that we love. First of all, the Forum's Politan Row is soooo cute, and there are multiple restaurants with halal options. We came on a Sunday night, and there was a little bit of a line, but one of the staff was able to help us answer questions and put in our order before we got to the front. Super nice ! We got the whole order of Jeonju Chicken with Fries. It definitely took some time to make, but that is consistent with the other location since everything is made fresh to order. The chicken was juicy and crunchy at the same time and I love the Jeonju sauce !! The fries were sooo crispy ! The whole order is meant for 2 people, but we definitely had two pieces left over that we brought home. Excited to come visit again soon!

Korean BBQ in a bowl
Kimberly F.

This was our second time at Politan row in the Forum since they've opened & the first time we came Kimchi Red's line was really long so we were definitely looking forward to trying them out this time. One of the workers recommended we try THE BOWL which I don't think would have been our first or second choice if we were ordering on our own. This Korean BBQ in a Bowl is very much worth trying. We choose the fried chicken as our protein and the bowl includes Japchae noodles, stir- fried kimchi, over white steamed rice, drizzled in spicy mayo and their KR gochujang sauce. THE BOWL is very eye catching as well because as soon as we sat down the couple next to use couldn't stop staring until they eventually asked if it was good haha, yes it was

Soy garlic half chicken order with fry

Kimchi Red has expanded out and come to the new Politan Row food hall at The Forum in Peachtree Corners! A beloved classic in Alpharetta/Johns Creek/Suwanee boasting the #1 Fried Chicken in America, the new location also does not disappoint. Menu is slightly different from the main sit down restaurant locations but overall the same sauces, chicken servings, and sizes are available here. Can get your chicken plain fried, or with a variety of different sauces like their recommended Jeonju sauce (mild sweet soy with red pepper oil), soy garlic, Rose Chon (creamy tomato alfredo), gochujang, buldak/cheesy with Buldak, and more. The chicken itself is delicious, moist, flavourful, and with wonderful breading. Some plates and the regular sides are available too, including the fan favourite K-Mega fries. "Half" serving is meant for one but they are very generous and usually ends up being 6 pieces of chicken. "Whole" serving is around 8-10 pieces and you'll leave very satisfied. Staff were in line explaining the menu and helping everyone out which was greatly appreciated to try to decipher the menu. The restaurant is in the corner of the hall so can get a little chaotic to order if busy. As with a food hall like this, it can get quite loud as well. They will give you a buzzer to hold onto to come back and get the food. All food made fresh, which is definitely a bonus! Definitely worth a try especially if you haven't tried it.

The Korean food scenes got my wife and I hungry every time! Having been to many of Atlanta's best Korean restaurants over the past decade, Stone Bowl is a clear notch above the rest. The side dishes are just simply better with robust authentic seasoning and unforgettable flavor that leaves you craving for more. The kimchi is spot on for spice but not overwhelming. The potatoes are to die for, cooked to perfection, tender and absorbent of all the nearby flavors. For the first time, we tried the Korean sushi roll (K-Pop Demon Hunters was calling) and it didn't disappoint. Stuffed with fresh cooked bulgogi and veggies, we ate it so fast we were left thinking of Korean sushi rolls had an edge over Japanese sushi rolls! And we also got the poached dumplings for the first time and almost went as fast as the sushi roll. The authentic style of poaching the dumpling made it taste homemade from grandma's kitchen. The sizzling plate of bulgogi was amazingly put down the gullet on top of everything else. Consistently on point and warms the tummy. Service is cordial, but somewhat aloof and distant at times because we would have loved an offer to refill our side dishes, but admittedly they are often busy and we don't go there to expect Michelin dining service levels. We come for the food. Awesome food. And Stone Bowl House will be seeing us again before long.

All the tables seemed to be run by one lady, at least when I visited, but the food came out fairly quick for the amount of people there versus the single waitress. My friend and I shared the Kimchi Pancake and Fresh Pork Belly. The Kimchi Pancake was huge! There were 8 small to medium sized slices (think pizza size). The pancake had a good crunch and taste, especially when dipped into the complementary sauce. My only complaint would be that it had a lot of onions. I would have preferred more kimchi and flour. The Fresh Pork Belly was good, but I wish it was crisper. We were also fans of the banchan! I liked the kimchi and pickled radish. I think if you are looking Korean food that feels like it was home-cooked with love, then Yet Tuh is the place to go! It has a lot of traditional Korean food such as stews and grilled meats & fish. I came here about 8 years ago with the same family members +1 family friend and we enjoyed dinner then, but it truly didn't compare to this visit. Previously, I had Kang Nam slated as an overpriced, but decent sushi place that serves meals on a more robust scale if you're dining with a party. However, the sushi back then was somewhat underwhelming. Last night, we had a phenomenal set. Hamachi, Otoro, Unagi, Ebi, and more! Every piece was delicately balanced and beautifully arranged. Honestly, I wasn't really expecting too much going in- and I'd only chosen Kang Nam as a place where I could get some decent sushi while my family got something else entirely. My mom had Don Katsu (served with a small dish of Japanese style curry sauce). My uncle got the Tempura Udon, of which they served the tempura shrimp on the side in a bed of tempura flakes. This is kind of genius, because you can make the decision on when you want to dip in your tempura instead of them bringing it and you have to down the tempura fast in order to still have it be crunchy... NOT HERE! It stays crunchy since they serve it separately. Love that. We had refillable banchan: kimchi, king oyster mushrooms, and glass noodles- all of which were delicious. We all received bowls of deliciously simple miso soup and we ordered a set of fried dumplings. Everything was great! That is...until the sushi came out. Wow. Presentation: 10/10. Flavor? 10/10. Portion-size: TEN OUT OF TEN, Y'ALL. The sushi rice was fantastic and they didn't use too much like a lot of places do with their nigiri. The toppings were functionally decorative. The sweet shrimp was especially pretty with two different colors of roe on top. The yellowtail didn't need the toppings it had- green onion and fish/squid flakes(?)- in my opinion, but they added a dimension of texture to the initial bite and a hint of flavor to the finish. The fish was perfect in every way: not too thick, no too thin, overlapping the rice by double to allow for perfect soy sauce dips without soaking the rice, and I just CAN NOT EXPLAIN how good each piece was... The sushi rolls were so delicious and every bite had wonderful textures and flavors, but my absolute favorite roll was the one with the smoked tuna on top- WOW! Absolutely stunned. Never - EVER - have I actually tasted the smoke flavor so clearly and completely. I am a HUGE fan of that one and I can't even remember the name of it...it's in the picture on the plate behind the sweet shrimp. The eel nigiri was also a highlight for me- as it's one of my favorite pieces of sushi, I always order several pieces. I was happily surprised to see they were nearly twice the size I get at other restaurants. Hands-down, the best otoro (fatty tuna) I've had in Atlanta. The sushi chef here also believes in giving special service by preparing some extra pieces for the customers as well. I only ordered one set of otoro, but next time....oh my...my bill is gonna hurt next time. Each 2-piece set of otoro is set at $17, so...yeah... It's going to be SO WORTH IT though. I will 10000% be back- soon. I might just get some Otoro, Hamachi, and one of those smoked tuna rolls...man. SO. RIDICULOUSLY. GOOD. Get in there if you haven't been in a while. Trust me!
