I was really hoping for a great experience since this is an older place and unique b/c of the charcoal grills. When we came in at around 11PM, the restaurant was empty so we were seated and served pretty quickly. Out of the banchan, I think my favorite was the kimchi! We ordered Galbitang, Chadolbaegi, and Samgyeopsal. I thought the Galbitang was the best thing hands down, I loved the taste of the broth and the amount of galbi inside. I was not satisfied with the KBBQ especially because of the price! We got a pretty measly portion - only got a couple pieces of samgyeopsal for nearly $40. Personally didn't think the charcoal grill justified the price of the bbq :(

My new favorite Korean spot! After all these years I finally tried them & absolutely love this hidden gem! If you want some authentic Korean soup, stew, or k bbq...then look no further. This restaurant has been here for over 20 years so that should tell you something right there. The inside is outdated, but do not let that deter you from the awesome service and food they provide.

Overall ok place that's open late. If it's 11:30pm, I'd honestly would go to thrill kbbq in Sandy springs instead next time and wait until their midnight special if it's a Friday/Saturday bc it's $28/AYCE per person. This place was $32 for maybe 5 oz of meat per portion of brisket or bulgogi. $42 if you want to get a portion of kalbi. I'd return if it's the only place open and get maybe their tofu soups instead for $14. Service: Greeted immediately upon entry. Our server was really friendly but clearly overworked and voiced it loudly. I do like that they cook the meats there for you. On a late Saturday around 11pm, I saw about 4 employees. Food: Good flavor and taste on the meats and banchans but I cannot justify the price. The meats are grilled on charcoal so it does have a great smoky flavor but that's it. The kimchi is really good here though. Price: $32 for bulgogi and $32 for brisket EACH PLATE. Pictures attached. Pretty good and tasty quality brisket but dang, put a lil more than just 10 thin slices! Not sure how the owner sleeps at night knowing how small their meat portions are. Bulgogi was a little more acceptable size compared to brisket but still ridiculous. Ambiance: 90s vibe for sure- hasn't been updated since 2000 probably. Old school. 2000s music videos playing (Britney spears).

The inside is pretty no frills - no gaudy decorations or loud music. It's a simple spot with good authentic Korean food. Didn't try the barbecue and prices overall weren't an amazing deal but the sides were good enough and the entrees were definitely authentic. Would highly recommend the pancakes, they were made really well and all of the soups seemed really tasty. Service was really quick and I'd definitely be back to try their take on other dishes.

Easy to find, parking is plenty, decor is older. The service was good, prompt and just enough attention. The food: Banchan was solid, side dishes were seasoned deliciously. Kimchi pancake was delicious! Crispy with the perfect amount of savory salty and sour from the kimchi. Sauce wasn't even really needed to go along with it. Galbi was solid but for the price you can get better elsewhere. Plus the portion was smaller. Bibimbap was below average, the veggies were seasoned well but barely any meat and lots of lettuce which felt like a filler. Overall I'd come for snacks but for Buford highway eats and nearby Duluth I'd go for Korean bbq elsewhere for quality of meat and price. The whole meal ended up being close to 70$?! For that price I was expecting more.

Annoyed this place has such a mediocre Yelp rating because this place was legit. Open super late, banchan was authentic and delicious, food was solid, and the service was wonderful- even super late night! The place is charming- no frills, some might call it outdated but all I saw was a place that was established. Can't believe I was almost deterred by their current star rating ‍‍

A great experience. The restaurant is very true to the owner, and speaks volumes about her dedication to cuisine. It is a true home-cooked meal that tastes great and soulful. The kimchi is hands down the best kimchi I've ever had, it is so fresh with a delicious bite and depth of flavor. I had the silken tofu stew, piping hot and a perfect portion. Really down to earth place with a very cozy aesthetic. Feels authentic, and tastes that way too!

3.5 stars is exactly right for this place - high end decent food. I'm rounding up because I was able to get a hot meal at 11:30 PM. I just asked what was good/popular, and got Yuk Gae Jong, but asked for the spice to be medium. Kind of a tofu and beef and noodle and mushroom and whatever soup. It was the right level of spice per my request - note the menu says "very spicy" so I appreciate that. It came with a nice bowl of rice and some bonchon. I would've probably preferred to do Korean barbecue but they require two people to order that, so I kind of got stuck in the kiddie pool (one of the tables without BBQ hardware). Anyways, this was fine for a time of day when I didn't have options. I'd say 3 stars during the day, 4 stars after 11 PM.

The Korean food scenes got my wife and I hungry every time! Having been to many of Atlanta's best Korean restaurants over the past decade, Stone Bowl is a clear notch above the rest. The side dishes are just simply better with robust authentic seasoning and unforgettable flavor that leaves you craving for more. The kimchi is spot on for spice but not overwhelming. The potatoes are to die for, cooked to perfection, tender and absorbent of all the nearby flavors. For the first time, we tried the Korean sushi roll (K-Pop Demon Hunters was calling) and it didn't disappoint. Stuffed with fresh cooked bulgogi and veggies, we ate it so fast we were left thinking of Korean sushi rolls had an edge over Japanese sushi rolls! And we also got the poached dumplings for the first time and almost went as fast as the sushi roll. The authentic style of poaching the dumpling made it taste homemade from grandma's kitchen. The sizzling plate of bulgogi was amazingly put down the gullet on top of everything else. Consistently on point and warms the tummy. Service is cordial, but somewhat aloof and distant at times because we would have loved an offer to refill our side dishes, but admittedly they are often busy and we don't go there to expect Michelin dining service levels. We come for the food. Awesome food. And Stone Bowl House will be seeing us again before long.

We got the seafood pancake, a full side-dish set of banchan, galbi short ribs, something akin to miso soup (that my uncle said was super spicy, but just tasted like plain miso soup to me), and black goat soup which was as spicy as it was red. Everything was fabulous! The food, the location, the people, the ambiance- everything really sold the whole authentic vibe. We'll definitely be back. I'm so down for that savory seafood pancake!

It is located behind a bunch of buildings and it can be hard to find, but it is honestly quite popular. There are not a lot of seats inside and there are only a few tables outside, but some people had to wait for a table to open up. It is rather tightly packed inside. All the tables seemed to be run by one lady, at least when I visited, but the food came out fairly quick for the amount of people there versus the single waitress. My friend and I shared the Kimchi Pancake and Fresh Pork Belly. The Kimchi Pancake was huge! There were 8 small to medium sized slices (think pizza size). The pancake had a good crunch and taste, especially when dipped into the complementary sauce. My only complaint would be that it had a lot of onions. I would have preferred more kimchi and flour. The Fresh Pork Belly was good, but I wish it was crisper. We were also fans of the banchan! I liked the kimchi and pickled radish. I think if you are looking Korean food that feels like it was home-cooked with love, then Yet Tuh is the place to go! It has a lot of traditional Korean food such as stews and grilled meats & fish. Also, a lot of the dishes can be shareable.

Service? Excellent. Ambiance? Relaxed and enjoyable. Food? Oh...MAN. Wow…read more.. I came here about 8 years ago with the same family members +1 family friend and we enjoyed dinner then, but it truly didn't compare to this visit. Previously, I had Kang Nam slated as an overpriced, but decent sushi place that serves meals on a more robust scale if you're dining with a party. However, the sushi back then was somewhat underwhelming. Last night, we had a phenomenal set. Hamachi, Otoro, Unagi, Ebi, and more! Every piece was delicately balanced and beautifully arranged. Honestly, I wasn't really expecting too much going in- and I'd only chosen Kang Nam as a place where I could get some decent sushi while my family got something else entirely. My mom had Don Katsu (served with a small dish of Japanese style curry sauce). My uncle got the Tempura Udon, of which they served the tempura shrimp on the side in a bed of tempura flakes. This is kind of genius, because you can make the decision on when you want to dip in your tempura instead of them bringing it and you have to down the tempura fast in order to still have it be crunchy... NOT HERE! It stays crunchy since they serve it separately. Love that. We had refillable banchan: kimchi, king oyster mushrooms, and glass noodles- all of which were delicious. We all received bowls of deliciously simple miso soup and we ordered a set of fried dumplings. Everything was great! That is...until the sushi came out. Wow. Presentation: 10/10. Flavor? 10/10. Portion-size: TEN OUT OF TEN, Y'ALL. The sushi rice was fantastic and they didn't use too much like a lot of places do with their nigiri. The toppings were functionally decorative. The sweet shrimp was especially pretty with two different colors of roe on top. The yellowtail didn't need the toppings it had- green onion and fish/squid flakes(?)- in my opinion, but they added a dimension of texture to the initial bite and a hint of flavor to the finish. The fish was perfect in every way: not too thick, no too thin, overlapping the rice by double to allow for perfect soy sauce dips without soaking the rice, and I just CAN NOT EXPLAIN how good each piece was... The sushi rolls were so delicious and every bite had wonderful textures and flavors, but my absolute favorite roll was the one with the smoked tuna on top- WOW! Absolutely stunned. Never - EVER - have I actually tasted the smoke flavor so clearly and completely. I am a HUGE fan of that one and I can't even remember the name of it...it's in the picture on the plate behind the sweet shrimp. The eel nigiri was also a highlight for me- as it's one of my favorite pieces of sushi, I always order several pieces. I was happily surprised to see they were nearly twice the size I get at other restaurants. Hands-down, the best otoro (fatty tuna) I've had in Atlanta. The sushi chef here also believes in giving special service by preparing some extra pieces for the customers as well. I only ordered one set of otoro, but next time....oh my...my bill is gonna hurt next time. Each 2-piece set of otoro is set at $17, so...yeah... It's going to be SO WORTH IT though. I will 10000% be back- soon. I might just get some Otoro, Hamachi, and one of those smoked tuna rolls...man. SO. RIDICULOUSLY. GOOD. Get in there if you haven't been in a while. Trust me!

The price tag. But depending on your mood and the occasion, Han Il Kwan can very much be worth it. Han Il Kwan is something of a Buford Highway pillar. Almost an Atlanta dining tradition. They've been here for years. And the place remains clean and inviting on the inside, with staff that really just wants to make sure you get served and well fed. You don't have to do the table-top BBQ thing if you don't want to, there are other things on the menu, but I have no idea what they are, because the BBQ is the only thing I've ever gotten here. And it is really good. Bring your posse of friends and enjoy. This is quality Korean BBQ. I am a fan of all things beef. The short-ribs are outstanding.
