Full disclosure: I never actually used their services nor do I intend to after their "lovely" phone etiquette. I called today to ask how much it would cost to have a pair of pants hemmed. I don't know if this is some tailoring nightmare Q or a pet peeve to be asked for prices over the phone? BUT I heard,"hemming is $3.50" and I was surprised so I said "$3.50?", and the response- so unnecessarily rude - was "Ma'am, it's never $3.50, it's $23.50". My assumption is that I misheard bc of the phone connection. I've never once been addressed so rudely over the phone over a harmless Q. Find a different place for your help bc these people seem too busy for any new business. Good luck! read more

I brought my wedding dress here to be hemmed since I was having an outdoor ceremony. I was a walk in, and was seen only a few minutes after I arrived. The hem is perfect and my dress was ready 3 days earlier than what they quoted me for pick up date. You can tell that they put a lot of care and skill into their work. Thank you for great service! I will be returning for any future alteration needs. read more

Oh my god this place was SO EXPENSIVE. To do two simple hems she charged me over $180. I will say $40 ($20 per piece) of the total cost was rush because I needed it within three days.... But my goodness. My friend who is quite savvy at DIY hemming said this was an incredibly straightforward job to do and that it should not have cost $70-90/piece. Overall she did a fine job but wow the tailoring cost way more than the dress and skirt itself I will definitely look elsewhere next time for my tailoring needs. read more

absolutely wonderful people. My dress ripped on the drive down and they jumped to help me. I am so thankful for them.

Kimberley did a great job hemming my new jeans and was able to get them done quickly. Highly recommend!!

Kimberly's work on 2 of my 18th-century uniforms was excellent and the price was reasonable for the effort IMO. I wasn't in a rush, but her timeline quoted to me was very reasonable. I cannot say enough about the positive experience I had, plus she and her staff were totally a pleasure to talk to. read more

I needed the dress pictured below shortened, even in tall heels it was dragging on the ground. Kimberly did a perfect job getting it to the right length and i really appreciated how she kept the nice ruffled edge on the front. Qouted $60 when I first came in and asked for $60 when i picked it up. She only accepts cash/check for payment just a heads up. She had my dress ready in 3 days with no extra charge for timing, I was very thankful for this it was done right in time for my event. She does quality work, I highly recommend!! read more

I have used Kimberley many times. She always does a great job. However, she does not take credit cards. Karen Laband

They did a great job of tailoring a suit jacket. They completed the project on time too.

Absolutely wonderful! Solved my dress problems in an extremely timely manner, the best!! Thank you so much.

After a completely disastrous experience at another tailor in Issaquah, I came to Kimberly's in desperation. Not only was she fantastic, but she was professional, and very prompt. While speaking to her, I did find out that her son serves in the Air Force and she even went as far as giving a discount for a fellow servicemen and women. I am truly amazed at the efficiency and the care that she gives. read more

I had an unsettling experience when I dropped off a few items at Kimberley's a few weeks ago. I was a new customer, and the fitting was quick and went fine. But as I was getting ready to leave, Kimberley launched into a long tirade about political and social issues, making me feel very uncomfortable and unable to leave with my ticket for nearly 15 minutes. She espoused in rich detail her beliefs about gun laws, socialism, abortion, welfare, and other controversial topics, at one point insisting that I watch videos about dead babies to change how I thought about abortion. She was agitated and raised her voice even as I listened in near silence. She was actively trying to engage / persuade me toward her beliefs. I waited until I picked up my items to post this. The alterations were fine (very simple hem and strap shortening), but I'll look elsewhere in the future to avoid such an uncomfortable encounter. read more

As another reviewer commented, the lady doesn't seem very happy when someone walks in the door. Price quoted for taking in the waist on cotton pants was $35 which seemed high so I just went to a good dry cleaner instead. read more

I went here to get some motorcycle jeans hemmed, which are very expensive jeans due to all the material used in case of a crash while riding. Kim did an awesome job! She gave me the 2 options for hemming the legs; one cheaper option of leaving the inner lining open or a slightly more expensive option of having the inner lining sewn up. Due to the cost of these jeans I opted for the slightly more expensive option. Her workmanship was outstanding! The jeans fit great and she was very familiar with how motorcycle jeans should be sewn slightly longer in the legs (for cruising style motorcycles). I totally recommend this place if you are looking for a job well done. It may cost more than other places, but you pay for what you get. I will return in the future when having my motorcycle jeans hemmed. A word about customer service. I found no issue with her customer service like others. I found her very helpful and polite. read more

Great seamstress and was able to tailor 2 items needed with quick turnaround. Will use again for other clothing.

What a shame to have to leave a negative review based on a brief encounter... but that's what I'm doing. I walked in to ask a question about alterations and she barely looked at me and was totally annoyed! Very rude. I would never deal with this individual.. I don't care how good she may be. I'll never find out. read more

If she lived in France- she would be employed by Christian Dior as a seamstress. Her work is always excellent and worth the high prices.

This lady is a miracle worker. All of my clothes that need alterations go here, now. I had an odd sized suit that needed tailoring. I found Kimberley's on Yelp, and decided to give it a shot. I am glad I went here over any other place in Issaquah. She really knows how to creatively resolve odd sized problems. My suit required a lot of rework to do what I needed it to do, and she creatively expanded and contracted the pant with minimal material, completely disassembling and reassembling portions of the pant. Once completed, you couldn't tell they had been altered in anyway, they fit comfortably and will last a long time. Quality craftsmanship, I must say. If I had to complain about anything it would be that she only took cash and checks, she did not take debit or credit cards. Nevertheless, she does fantastic work! read more

Didn't end up visiting this business due to the rude service received on the phone. Looking for a neighborhood tailor but will take my business elsewhere. read more

I work in Issaquah, and Kimberley called us out of the blue to ask if we needed any cloth masks during the Covid-19 outbreak. We work with the general public, and didn't have any masks yet, so we gratefully accepted. She showed up soon afterward with lots of colorful, well-made masks. Didn't ask for any money, no request for social media reviews - just a generous gift, given with a smile. I want to say thank you to her for her generosity and kindness during these stressful times! I will definitely give her a call next time I need any alterations. read more

My alterations were perfect! She did my brides maid dress. And she was able to custom make two matching bow ties and two matching giant hair bows (flower boys and ring girls). The kids were adorable! I gave 4 starts because the work was perfect, fast and she was hysterical. Cut to the chase, honest, and matter of fact. I saw other reviews that said she was rude but I didn't see her as rude, just spunky and confident with her work! As she should be. I left off one star and that was for price. My 4 custom piece were $25 each, and my dress was about $100. Again, perfect work. I will go back but it'll cost me. She was too perfect not to go back. read more

I was referred to Kimberly's by my dry cleaner when his tailor could not alter the complicated stitching of one of my dresses. I wished I had gone to her first to begin with. Her attention to detail, honest and straightforward attitude, treating garments with the utmost care - these qualities are what anyone would want in a good tailor. You will definitely get what you paid for. read more

I am so incredibly pleased with Kimberly's work on my wedding dress. I came in about a month ago and she was so much fun to work with! She is funny and quick and knows exactly what she is talking about. For a wedding dress alteration that was pretty tricky, she charged a fair price of about 300 dollars. I gave her a tip and that money she uses to make masks and she gave me a couple. She is so wonderful and does a fantastic job! read more

Consistent top notch quality. From jackets to dresses to pants and jeans... I am always impressed with Kimberly's attention to detail.

If you go here, make sure you get the price in writing upfront. I won't go back again after she charged me double what she quoted. I thought $69 for a simple wrap skirt from material I provided was expensive enough, but ended up paying $138!! read more

If you need alterations. DO NOT go to this place. This is probably my least rated review on Yelp! She is rude, arrogant and uncourteous. She lost out on probably a great customer (I tend to market a good service/product pretty well!) I needed to get a long party dress ($150) shortened by 1 inch. She didn't even see the dress properly and she was "it's going to take 65$" I saw the Yelp reviews and went there with some high expectations. (// She probably does a good job stitching the whole dress and stuff; I don't know and I don't want to know. I will also make sure people I know, get to know about the terrible experience I had!) Well, to continue, after she said it was 65$, I was like "oh! it's too expensive, almost 1/2 the price of the dress, so I will pass." And, then I saw some fully made wedding dresses around and out of curiosity asked her in a nice way "So you make wedding dresses, huh? " JUST asked her that. She cut me and goes like " if you can't do the alteration, you can't afford my wedding dresses!" UNBELIEVABLE! 1) I would have been the most elite person who would have visited her dingy small store. I am married and my wedding dress costed about 3 times of her most expensive one! 2) Even if I was the richest person on earth, firstly I wouldn't go to her and secondly I wouldn't pay 65$ for a stitch! 3) Even if I wasn't, that is no way someone in her right mind, talks to her customer in such an uncourteous manner. Basically, it was the WORST experience I have ever had anywhere! read more

I've been looking for a good tailor for awhile, so was excited when I saw a new place in Issaquah that got great ratings here on yelp. And guess what, everything everyone is saying is true, she is excellent! I had two pairs of pants for her to hem, and a dress. I called on a Sunday asking if I could just drop in or if I needed to make an appointment, she say normally Sundays are by appointment only but to come on in and she would get me in. When I came in, Kimberly was just wonderful, friendly, funny, and the quality of her work is just amazing. I doubt anyone could even tell I have had any of my items altered! The only down side is make sure you bring cash or your check book - but honestly, this inconvenience is small when you know your clothes are in great hands! I already have gone back to her for other items to be altered! read more

I'm fairly new to the area, but in the last few months I've had about a dozen items worked on by Kimberly. Her work was excellent, the prices were great, and I found her very kind. I'll be taking all my clothes in need of alterations to her in the future. So glad to have found a reliable tailor in the area, I highly recommend her! read more

Kimberly did an excellent job on my alterations for my wedding dress! She was timely and I felt very comfortable with her working on my dress because I could tell she definitely knows what she is doing and does amazing work. I had her hem, take in the straps, and insert padded cups on my dress. I was cutting it close on time, and 10 days before my wedding I was hoping to take my dress in a bit on the waist and hips and she got it done with no problem! read more

If you're looking for someone to make your clothes fit correctly, this is the place to go! My pants, suit jackets, anything I bring it, it has been done superbly and exactly when she said it would be ready (even early). For my local alternation, I won't go anywhere else! read more

I am a big fan of Kimberley. I have been taking work to her for several years and she has never let me down. She quickly measures the clothing and marks the alterations needed and gives me a price. The work is always done perfectly, on time, at the price quoted. I've never had a problem with price changing mentioned by a couple of other people. I suspect there must have been some miscommunication with the people who gave a poor review. I try to pay all my small service businesses with cash or check so they don't have to pay the credit card fees. We need Kimberley and people like her to be in business! read more

Best alterations ever. Fixed all of my school dance dresses to make them small enough and have never had a complaint about anything. Goes above and beyond in alterations and provides a variety of fit solutions. amazing!!! read more

She fixed my bridesmaid dress with an extremely tight schedule after an unfortunate incident at another nearby Issaquah tailor. Not only did she fix someone else's poor work, she did it better and charged less. She takes great pride in her work, doing all work the right way, without shortcuts. Her business/shop is clean and organized which reflects what kind of work she does. She really saved the day and my bridesmaid dress for my sisters wedding. I highly recommend Kimberly to anyone needing any kind of alterations big or small. She was sweet to my two young busy boys. Cash only, pay when you drop off your garment. read more

Kimberley is excellent! She's hemmed two pairs of my jeans, and was able to shorten the jeans and keep the original hem. They look great; like they weren't altered at all. She's also resized a leather belt, and is currently working on repairing a rip in a pair of my jeans and some buttons that weren't sewn correctly on a pea coat. I definitely recommend her services. And for those who can't handle paying in cash or check: seriously? She tells you exactly how much it will cost, and you don't pay until the work is done. read more

I have been trying to find a good tailor for a while, as I recently got a few suits, and one that was close to where I lived so I wouldn't have to go so far for a decent alteration job. With the help of Yelp, I was able to discover this place and it did live up to its reviews. I brought in a couple of pants to get hemmed up as it was too long, and she got it to the perfect length, as I have a short build, so it fit right and look nice. She does great work, and even does work for a major department store. She is very friendly and seems to know what looks right for the specific customer. She only takes cash as payment, so although you don't pay until she finishes with the clothes, just be aware she doesn't take any form of debit or credit card. The price is affordable and the job is great. I will definitely look forward on my next visit as I know that it will come out great when its done. In fact, I got a wedding to go to soon, so I guess I'll be seeing Kim sooner rather than later. read more

My experience at Kimberley's was fantastic. I had to get my wedding dress altered (hem, bustle and taken in on the chest since the busts on these dresses are ridiculous) and she did an amazing job. You couldn't even tell the bust had been altered and it fit perfectly. The bustle was confusing due to the hooks/loops being hard to see but it worked out and stood up to people accidentally dancing on it during my wedding. Also, as other reviewers pointed out, she tells you like it is. Some people may find that hostile but I totally appreciate someone telling me what will and won't work, instead of just forging ahead and doing a blah job at it. I will definitely be going back for any other alterations I may have in the future. read more

Very rude service and RIDICULOUSLY expensive. I was out of town and could not pick up my dress on Friday so I picked it up on Monday and she rudely went over that it was ready Friday. However, she never called to let me know it was done. I got a dress hemmed about 3 inches and it cost me $75! I will not be going back here. read more

Cannot say enough good about what a great job Kimberley did on my husband's competitive cycling shorts. She repaired so they really are better than new. We plan on bringing all our alterations here! Wanted to add how difficult it is to get bike gear repaired. Sizing, the fabric. She is quick and her 'fixes' last much longer that the original stitches on hubs gear. Also the price were surprisingly reasonable. Definitely causes me to rethink some of my cloths that I might give away, have them altered instead. read more

I have had very good experiences here in the past, but today was really upsetting. The person that helped was not wearing a mask, sniffling, wiping her nose with the back of her hand and let me know that she thought masks and covid were just a scam. I felt really uncomfortable. Interestingly, she did offer me a free mask on my way out. read more

This place is great. Kimberley was able to make a 1) significant adjustment to a pair of dress pants on 2) an older suit transforming it into a more modern look, 3) on three hours' notice for an important meeting just scheduled, and 4) for a reasonable price. I now have a local tailor! read more
