I came here to pick up my trouser and no one is here even within their business hours!!!!!! (3PM on Tuesday) I need my trouser for my business trip and they promised me to be ready by today and NO ONE IS HERE! You cannot rely on their words. They don't care....obviously!!! Kim and her daughter Anna were great to work with and I couldn't be happier with Kim's work! She took my wedding dress in and now it fits like a glove. Originally I wanted the dress shorter in length but she explained why following the lace pattern would look so much better even though it would be a couple inches longer. I really appreciated that. I've had other garments ruined because a tailor simply did what I asked. I'm happy to take advice from an expert. I really enjoy Mrs. Kim's work and can't find myself to see anyone else to do my alterations. I've taken countless items that required repairs, shortening, plain old hemming, to creating a brand new design of clothes. At the beginning of this ever lasting pandemic which I hope you'll laugh it off because the future you have the luxury to, she had made many reusable masks for people. She'd made some from my leftover fabric. I find this to be incredibly thoughtful in so many ways. Not only she made this mask, but she made it with my fabric to match my clothes and the use of the leftover fabric helps with the No-Waste lifestyle/rule I try to uphold. It's quite heartwarming that she didn't even think twice about helping her customers to her community with the use of her talent. When was the last time that you've volunteered to help out your community without expecting anything in return? Mrs. Kim did. If you're one of her customers, now you know. I'm sure there are others out there who may disagree and say Mrs. Kim's work isn't good. When I bring my piece for her to repair, I always tell her exactly what I would like to see (or less of) to ensure her and I are on the same page. I think when you're bringing your clothing into a shop to make any changes, it's because you care about the item and want to keep it for a long time. So take that into consideration and explain to Mrs. Kim on what your version of the request looks like. She hasn't failed me yet (knock on wood) and I have no doubt, she will be my alteration lady until she retires. read more

Kims alterations is quick, reliable and has always done good work for our family. We've had uniform pants, jacket, and a tuxedo tailored. All turned out great. The shop is a converted garage in a neighborhood, so it was a bit confusing to find the first trip, but believe the google; it will direct you correctly. read more

This business is located in the garage of a residential house. It's literally a mom and pop operation. I went to drop off my suit pants to be hemmed and also a pair of shorts that needed a new zipper. They did a great job on the zipper. The pants were hemmed fine, but you can see the stitching pretty clearly where they hemmed it, not the most subtle job. They also charged me twice for the job, once when I dropped it off and another time when my partner went to pick it up. We called them and they quickly apologized and refunded our venmo payment. Not a big deal but a minor nuisance. They're literally down the street from me so I'm sure I'll probably come back at some point for minor jobs but if I needed something done on a high quality piece of clothing, I'll probably go elsewhere. read more

We didn't get shoes for the prom dress for my daughter until the last minute and needed to get the dress hemmed with 2-1/2 days till prom. I pinned it up where it needed to be (daughter didn't have time to go for fitting) and started calling alteration shops. When I called, I got "voicemail box is full" hung up and called the next one, left VM and before I dialed the 3rd number Kim Tailor called me even though I didn't leave a VM for them. Told them what I needed and they said they could do it. 18 hours later, dress was done and perfect!!! EXCELLENT work and very reasonably priced. The store where we got the dress was going to charge us $125...When I asked Kim Tailors on the phone, she said it depended on the dress and number of layers but between $30 and $80. Cost us $50. I was HAPPY!! Super sweet people too. Will be using them from now on! read more

Fantastic tailors! Kim's operates in a private residence in which they have converted their garage to a "studio". I was able to bring my bridesmaid dress in for them to hem. It has a cascading ripple chiffon in the front, so it wasn't a simple hem and done. As the Kim's do not speak much English, their daughter helps them with scheduling and communication over the phone, email, or text. She was prompt and easy to work with. When I got there I was greeted and shown to a changing room. I walked out and was pinned quickly. The best part about Kim's is the amazingly quick turnaround! I was not in a hurry by any means, but they let me know that I will be able to pick it up in 4 days! When I went to pick it up. They had me try it on again to ensure that I was satisfied with the length. The dress was hemmed beautifully and for an average market price. Next time I need some alterations or hemming, I would not hesitate to come back Newcastle Alterations! read more

This is the first time I've tried Alteration Kim. I'm typically a frequent customer of Fit-Rite alterations in Factoria or Nordstrom in Bellevue but I was looking for a new tailor which would have a more flexible open/closed times but still delivery on high quality tailoring. One day, I decided to google search tailors nearby and found Alteration Kim Tailor. I had a fantastic experience. The coat I brought to them required major reconstruction. They were able to custom fit it exactly to my body and did it in only 2 days (typically they would do it on the same day but mine required major work and they were doing construction in their shop). They also offered me 20% as a first time customer and delivered it straight to my house at (10 PM on a Sunday!). That is true professionalism. I am extremely happy with my experience and will definitely return. PS their prices are very reasonable. Very similar to Fit-Rite alterations. Thanks again Kim! read more

Drove there for nothing, they have a website makes you think it's a shop, I arrived to a house, and no one was there. Also no one picked up my first 2 calls then they returned the call saying they don't work on Saturday without appointment. At least they need to note "by appointment only" on both google map and their website. Google map. And their website indicating they are operating on Saturdays from 9-5 without mentioning anything about the appointments requirement. read more

I don't typically leave negative reviews but I had a really bad experience here. I was told my dress would be ready on a specific date. I arrived to pickup my dress and it hadn't even been touched since I had left it two weeks prior.... The pins were still in it and they completely forgot about it. They assured me they would rush it and I could pick it up the next day. When I did pickup my dress I noticed the hem was uneven and the straps were uneven. When I pointed out these flaws they blamed me for rushing it. When in reality it was rushed because they forgot about it and I had to pick it up a day later than I was originally told. I somehow left feeling like I did something wrong with how they treated me. I was WAY overcharged for poor service. They deducted $20 for their errors which brought my total to $160 for botched services. I ended up having to go to another tailor to fix their errors at 9pm the night before leaving for the wedding I am in. Unfortunately I will not be coming here in the future. read more

I stopped by today for alterations on a couple of dresses but no one was at the location. I tried calling but no answer. The website says no appointment necessary, therefore you should be available for people who stop by. Waste of time and gas. read more
