Brought in a brand new pair of suede cream boots from Rag & Bone ~$500. I hadn't even worn them yet but wanted to get the soles protected. The shoes weren't ready on pick up day and I had to return the next day. When I received it, there were scuff marks everywhere, discoloration, it looked like it had gone through the wringer. My new boots looked rough and worn and I was devastated. The suede had so many areas of rubbing where it wore through and I could see the underlining. Do not go here for things you value. READ THIS IF YOURE SHORTENING SUIT SLEEVES Brought in a suit jacket to shorten the sleeves. Got the jacket back and I'll take some blame for not clarifying HOW she would shorten the sleeve but she cut the sleeve from the end instead of moving up the whole sleeve from the arm hole. There were usable buttons that are not usable. It's not noticeable once worn but the real reason for the low stars: sleeves are uneven. Photos will show she didn't shorten sleeve to the same place despite chopping them. Thankfully it was a cheap suit but I'm still out $46.20 after this alteration. read more

I was really disappointed to receive my fur coat stained with marker in several places (marker.. not chalk..) I pointed it out upon pickup and she attempted to remove it with a strong chemical that left the fabric matted and still stained. I was very disappointed to learn my clothing is ruined. I was not happy to pay for the destruction of my never before worn coat but understand time is valuable and offered a compromised price. She took my money and asked me to never come back. Since my first review last August, I have taken several different items over to Fit-Rite. And I have to say - they (they meaning: SHE) has done an absolutely fantastic job on everything that I've brought in. Pants, jackets, hats, socks, gloves... even my formal evening gowns (I've grown a little in the chest...) everything that I have had altered at Fit-Rite has been done with exceptional precision. The service is always timely. And the prices are more than reasonable. Can't say enough good things about Fit Rite. Don't let their little shop fool you. I brought 3 dresses to her. They are all fairly tricky alterations. Two of them are silk wrap dresses and the top needed to be taken in (they were too big for me). Another dress was big in the waist area. She added a couple of darts in the back to improve the shape. She did a wonderful job on all three dresses. I was able to get everything back within a week. Her fees are very reasonable given how expensive the dresses were. Her store is tiny and full of clothes, but her work is top notch. Very happy with the outcome and highly recommend her shop. read more

Case in point: We dropped off two dresses on Wednesday, both of which needed some extensive alterations... by Friday. After telling us that the dresses are "very very sexy," she said, "Ok, they'll be done by Friday. Can you pick them up around 9 or 10pm?" Completely surprised, I said, "Wow! You're open until 10pm? On Fridays?" "No, no," she explained with a big grin, "I close at 6pm. The dresses will be ready by 9 or 10pm. Come by, I'll still be here." They were. And She was. And they were perfect. read more

The owner, a dedicated businesswoman, did not hesitate to tell me what to expect when I brought my beloved True Religion jeans and Lululemon stride jacket in for repairs. She has been here for twenty years, so you know she means business. The jeans had the trademark gold stitching that was coming loose from the pocket, she fixed it EXPERTLY! The Lululemon jacket I bought on eBay for a killer deal had a hole in the arm, nowhere near a seam so she said it would show, but at least it would prevent any further damage. IT DOESN"T EVEN SHOW! She is AWESOME! My clothes were done right on time and for an excellent price. I will come back for all my tailor, repair, and dry-cleaning needs! Never again will I waste my time and money elsewhere, and I am pretty damn picky. read more

Meaning she leaves for lunch at random times, closes early when she feels like it, etc. But her work is impeccable, so it's worth the trouble. Only days before a dinner function, I discovered the qipao I planned on wearing was too roomy. A very nice and soft spoken lady @ Fit Rite carefully pinned up the gown, on both sides, from shoulders all the way down to the ankles. (Incidentally, have you ever tried removing a close-fitting gown that's full of pins? It was quite a crash course in contortion-ism.) She never even flinched when I asked if the alterations could be rushed; instead, she simply smiled and wrote my requested pick-up date on the ticket. My qipao was ready as promised. I showed up just as she was giving it one final pressing. She did a very nice job under the time constraint. Given the nature of the garment, some parts did not fit as smoothly as they should, but I could tell she did her best, short of re-constructing the entire gown, which I'm sure she could have done if I hadn't been such a procrastinator. She even adjusted the length of the side slit and hemmed it carefully. Where did she find those few extra inches of matching material? I'll never know. Fit Rite is a little shop, hidden behind US Bank, right on Factoria Blvd. The prices are reasonable. The service is attentive and prompt. Go and leave your pants with the nice ladies there. I'm a lil shortie, and have to always have my pants hemmed, Original style... so by the suggestion of my Boyfriend I brought my Lululemon pants with the string on the bottom here and she hemmed it exactly as the original... even the stitching! I have been looking for a place to alter my clothes with reasonable price and base on the reviews I decided to visit fitrite. This one lady charged me $70 just for shortening the length of two maxi skirts. $30 ea. and $10 rush fee since I needed it by the end of the next day. When I went back to pick up I was greeted by another lady who kindly took the $10 rush fee off because she thought the price was unreasonable expensive. I haven't been here for years but the service is as good as ever. The shop is quite small but they do good, quick work. I took in five pairs of jeans to be hemmed. My order was completed in less than a week. The work was very well done and the price was fantastic. I like the location and parking is convenient. When I was in dropping off my jeans the woman working was even aware of two children who had been left in a car in the lot - it was a very hot day and she was concerned. I offered to go out and check for her. Everything was fine - the mother was standing in front of the studio next door and the car was running with the A/C on. I was just impressed that she was so aware of what was going on outside. My jeans were ready when she said they would be and they were exactly as I had wanted. Based on the good reviews, I sent my jacket to this store to have the sleeves shortened and the shoulder area narrowed. After I picked it up, I tried it on in the store and already it felt awkward. I went home and examined the jacket, and I noticed that the joint connecting the sleeves to the back looked wrong. I tried to ignore it, but it just felt very uncomfortable, so I disassembled the places she alternated. Found out that the sleeves are not the same length and that the left front armpit area connecting to the sleeve was cut short by more than 3 inches and she just bunched it all up together. read more

I simply wanted a sturdy repair, regardless of how it looked. I was expecting an obvious zig-zag suture, but what I got was a beautiful patch and stitch job that seamlessly blended in to the denim, no one could tell there was a huge gaping hole at one time. I tried a few other place in DT Bellevue, but they always seemed to screw my pants up and seemed like a waste of money because I'm never happy. SO frustrating. I used to take all of my clothes here for alterations and hadn't been back in years. It seems like the lady that used to run the place is gone. I took in a bunch of things and they did fine on the pants, but they literally turned one of my favorite dresses into a halter top. I was having it shortened a few inches, and now it is literally a halter top, and a short one at that. The seamstress pinned the dress while I was wearing it and it looked perfect, so I have no idea how another 10 inches got taken off of the dress. Super disappointing. read more

We have brought everything from my trousers, suits, tux shirts, my wife's dresses, our daughter's young adult wear - all altered on time and first time right. I paid as much for altering FOUR trousers here as the custom tailors in downtown Bellevue quoted for altering just ONE of the four. The owner turned away the items that she thought did not need to be worked on. She has recently down-sized her shop ( blame our recession!) but is smiling as ever and working hard as ever.
