I opted for a standard pedicure and paid an additional $25 to have my old gel nails removed and replaced with new ones. Mabel and I chatted as if we had known each other forever, and I truly enjoyed my time with her. She was sweet and kind and even offered some recommendations for great places in the area where I could spend time while waiting for my son to finish camp. We arrived a few minutes late, but I did call ahead. My sister was seated with a different tech. About five minutes into her service, her tech stepped away to do someone's eyebrows. My sister didn't mind, so she went ahead with it. When Nina sat me down, she handed me the menu and I chose the Deluxe pedi (highly recommend!) My sister, who was still waiting, asked what I picked, and Nina offered her the same menu. She chose the Deluxe as well. When her tech returned and Nina let her know about the upgrade, the tech visibly seemed annoyed. She tossed her tools down and adjusted her setup with clear frustration. It made both of us uncomfortable, and we almost rescheduled, but my sister had driven 45 minutes to come get her nails done. In the end, my sister liked her nails and the design, and she said the tech was nice overall, but that moment definitely affected the experience. I'm only removing one star because of that interaction, and I do wish the salon offered complimentary drinks like many others do. Until now. I honestly didn't think these places truly existed. If I was getting married anytime soon (in the next couple years hopefully) I would 100% go here! Quinn is truly a nail artist. He showed me his portfolio of nails while working on mine and it was astonishing how good they were. A lot of nails you see in ads and online are printed and done by a machine so of course they are perfect, but Quinn is honestly able to recreate them so beautifully. If he told me he was an artist outside of this, I wouldn't be surprised. The shop was VERY cute and I was over hearing people coming in for various other services I am going to have to check out. I've never had a nail salon that I called home, but this is honestly a place worthy of that. Very understanding too. I was a walk in with random demands and concerns and everyone I spoke to was very understanding of that and helpful. For example, I said that I don't like gel because it makes my nails brittle and Quinn explained why that generally happens and how to avoid it and I ended up leaving with beautiful gel black tip designed nails. I'm obsessed with them. I've NEVER had nails this pretty. I've had plenty of very cute or fun ones but these are seriously good! And if I hadn't of done gel, they would not last long and I would be sad. I don't know why you are still reading this instead of calling or going there, you will NOT be disappointed. And if you are, just remember we're all human and we can't be perfect all the time. But I doubt that will happen. Just make sure if you see something you are not 100% happy with, just let them know! The salon does not use the electric nail drill at all. The gel manicure is done solely with a regular nail file and a soak. It was very gentle and very thorough. They pay a lot of attention to nail beds and cuticles and start the manicure by putting your hands in warm gloves. Overall, a very relaxing and delightful experience. They are appointment only and you can either call or text to book. This is going to be my new salon for the foreseeable future. They are also reasonably priced.
