The luxurious vibe of this salon is Only the Beginning! The quality of service. The Respect for each individual client and the Constant EXCEEDING of my High expectations is UNMATCHED!! THAHN I know I our connection was established long before I stepped foot into your business and I'm so Elated that I've Finally found YOU. No matter the idea I come in with, you customize it for my decidedly short nail style and leave me Giggling like a little girl-anxious to show all of my friends!!! Thank You for your kindness and Professionalism and Super friendly support staff. My Birthday nails are so glamorous and I can't wait to sit in your chair next. Ladies and Gentlemen Come on In! YOU'LL be So GLAD you did

Great vibes, the techs are all so friendly. Great color options and speedy service. Results always come out looking good! Thankfully they validate for parking however there's still usually an additional $5 to cover so that is probably the only downside. Other than that I love this place!

It has become a monthly routine for me to come to Topcoat for my eyebrows and gel X extensions. I can't imagine going anywhere else in the city! I've seen a drastic change in my nail health since becoming a customer of theirs a few years ago. And I've lost count how many times people compliment me on my eyebrow shape. Every one in Topcoat is skilled and knows what they're doing. They have fun with it, the vibe is fun and lighthearted-- but they are about their business so make sure you make an appointment. I wish more nail salons were appointment only because it allows everyone to be in and out on time.

I have been client for over two years and these ladies never disappoint. Amy and her staff are always pleasant and professional. Not to mention the salon is always clean and sanitized after each client. I just get a gel manicure and regular pedicure, my polish lasts up to 3 weeks. They do not take walk-ins, so making an appointment is a definite to secure your spot . They also validate parking as well. They still adhere to the mask policy, so make sure you have a mask with you when getting services rendered. These ladies always keep my nails in tip top shape

My search for a great nail salon in Baltimore continues... this time I thought I'd give Topcoat a try after hearing great things on Yelp and reading about their non-toxic products. You must make an appointment with Topcoat - no walk ins - and when booking, they ask for a $30 deposit per service that will go towards your total cost. I booked a gel pedicure and gel manicure so my deposit was $60. You can get it back as long as you cancel within 24 hours. Before booking, they also let me know they offer $5 validated parking at the Harbor Park Garage which is great since their shop is right near the busy Power Plant Live area. When I entered, I was pleased with how clean, airy, and bright the shop was. Lots of plants, minimalist decor, and fun music playing. It's a loft style set up with pedicure and manicure stations downstairs and what I'm guessing is lash or waxing services upstairs. Their Covid-19 policies were clearly laid out and they have you sign a quick waiver and take your temperature. This place seems to really be on top of Covid precautions! The pedicure was really amazing - my tech took her time with the massage even though it was just a basic pedicure (many places skip the massage or don't take their time, but my girl was putting in work). The pedicure finished with a hot towel and I was left feeling relaxed and renewed. The gel pedicure was efficient and meticulously done. I have very short nails so she made sure to just file them into shape and not cut them down. I appreciated that since I'm trying to grow them out. She started to put my color on and then asked if I liked it before continuing - I'm glad she asked because what I picked was more shimmery than my preference so she grabbed a different color based on what I described and completely hit the nail on the head. She even finished with a hand massage using Baltimore's very own Mount Royal Soap lotion! Kudos to them for using locally sourced products! The total was $115 ($50 for the manicure and $65 for the pedicure). This is definitely on the pricey end but I'm willing to pay a little extra for great service and results. I've had great experiences at other nail salons but after a week or two, the polish seems to chip or peel and the results just aren't worth the money. My experience at Topcoat was great so now we must wait to see if the results last as long as I hope (2+ weeks would be great). It seems like they use quality products so finger(nails) crossed!

I came to Topcoat looking to get my nails done for the summer, and I was honestly blown away by the experience! I love that they're a small, family founded business local to the Baltimore area. But I also love the emphasis they place on using non-toxic products and keeping their clients (and workers) safe! The salon was clean, booking the appointment was easy. Thanh, my nail tech, was so patient with me in my indecision and helped me figure out what design to do- we settled on this geometric design that feels and looks clean. Would recommend this nail salon to anyone in the Baltimore area!

    What I asked for

Sigh, well I feel bad even writing this, but I left disappointed today. The positive, the shop is nice, big clean and overall very friendly staff. The negative is my art and nail shape/ placement was terrible. My nail tech was very friendly and informed me she was able to do the art no problem. So I didn't want to question the process, I know sometimes getting nails done it can look crazy up to the last coat so I never question the process. I don't have the best eyesight, but once I got in the car, I realized how bad the design was. It's not even close to what I asked for and I didn't feel right asking for a refund or for a discount just because booking online I did agree all sales were final, also your card is on file so I assumed they would just charge me anyways. Overall, just not happy. I had to go somewhere else to have them fix the art. ... I just wish they would've specified that all the nail art online is most likely probably coming from one tech or just be honest you're not able to do the art asked for. ... the pictures below are what I asked for and what I

Topcoat is one of the nicest and most expensive salons I have visited. This salon caters to young black millennial women that take their nails very seriously. If you show them a photo to recreate, they will understand the assignment. I was very impressed by the cleanliness and professionalism of the staff. You have to book an appointment to be serviced here. I put down a deposit of $60 for a dip manicure with design and gel pedicure. Deposits are non-refundable if you do not show up. Also, they give you a $5 valet for parking. Once I arrived they took my temperature and I had to sanitize my hands. They took off the gel polish I had on previously and began my pedicure. I am so happy they did that before my pedicure that way I could play on my phone without the foil on my fingertips. The entire experience was relaxing, I enjoyed my conversation with Amy, she is very sweet. The manicure was also relaxing and they take their time to service you. Your appointment can take about 2 hours. Hannah paid close attention to so many details, the only thing that is missing is mimosas and wine. Again this salon is on the pricey side, my total due was $120 after my deposit (not including a tip). So my total payment was just over $200. This price tag is way too much for me to visit monthly, maybe once or twice a year for a special occasion.

I wish I lived closer because I would definitely be frequenting Topcoat on a monthly basis! If you're looking for nail designs, Thanh, Amy, and Jennifer are the best at bringing your vision into a reality. I brought in a photo of a design that I liked and Thanh exceeded my expectations. COVID restrictions are in full force here, which gives me great peace of mind! Appointments are required due to the limited indoor capacity. Proper wear and social distancing is enforced throughout the salon. You must have your temperature checked and sanitize your hands when you check-in. The staff also uses gloves for your service and they take the time to sanitize each area after each customer is finished. There's a wide variety of colors in SNS and gel as well as regular polish. Both the manicure and pedicure I received were heavenly and super relaxing. Each nail technician takes their time for each service so you won't feel rushed at all. I would definitely recommend treating yourself here!

Came here for some me-time and I feel in love with the space. They had great covid measures, and the place was clean and spacious. They have individually packaged tools for pedicures, which made me feel really good about the cleanliness of the salon. Thanh, was a great. She helped me pick a color since I couldn't decide. She did a great job with a basic manicure and pedicure. I can't wait to go back.

I really enjoyed my experience here . It was a perfect self-care day. GLOWS: - Friendly service (ensures that you get things done the way you ask for them) - I called last minute and they called back when cancellations happened to get me in - Super clean- covid procedures on point - the decor is nice! Love it. **The pricing is the pricing, but I cannot swing paying almost $200 for nails, toes, and eyebrows, so this won't be a frequent occurrence***

Very clean studio and professional and kind nail artists! Regular pedicure felt like a special spa experience. Great gel manicure with attention to detail esp since i have short nails. They use materials that are less toxic than most. Worth the price! Highly recommend.

I had the pleasure of visiting Topcoat last Saturday (7/31). My time there was nothing short of amazing. The staff here are kind and attentive. They've really created a peaceful atmosphere. First, this place gets booked really fast so it's best to call in advance. I called a week in advance and set my appointment. I had to pay a deposit of $80 to secure my appointment for the gel x manicure. I started off with a pedicure and then got a gel x manicure. The pedicure was great. The person who did it was very nice and took their time. My manicure came out wonderful. The nail tech was great and did the designs exactly like the picture I showed them. My total for everything was $190. Was it worth it? In my opinion no. The only reason I say this is my nails started to lift on day 3. I do not wash dishes or do anything out of the ordinary with my nails and I was very confused because I read that gel x nails are supposed to last much longer than acrylic. Unfortunately, that was not my case. I've only had them for a week as of today and I'm pretty disappointed with how they've held up. I've paid significantly less and they would still look fresh by day 4-5. This place is great and the staff is wonderful but for the price and with how long they've lasted, it's just not worth it. The first picture is day 1. The second picture is day 3. The third picture is today (day 7).

For 12 minutes. I arrived about 15 minutes earlier to my appointment because I don't know the area that well and it was cold that eventually. Finally I just spoke to the first person who was a tech there and just mentioned I had a an appointment starting in a few minutes and she said yeah I know pick your color, with an attitude as if I was disturbing her with my presence! ‍ Cool. Picked my color. Sat for another 15-20 minutes. No one came by to ask if I needed anything or to acknowledge that the tech was running a little behind. Finally some older lady comes and waves and hand signals to follow her. I could care less if someone can't speak English as we can always figure out how to explain ourselves someway but the tech who was translating to her was the RUDEST passive aggressive person I have yet to meet in an establishment. Not sure if she's the owner but WOW! I asked if they can do an extension on my big toe and she asks if I booked it and I said no because there was no option online for it but that I did call right after I booked it and the lady I spoke to did say the day of the appointment I can request it as an add on service. So she translates and she starts with my pedicure first. Cool. No issues. The older lady was nice but her nail skills were someone learning. Maybe she couldn't see well anymore, I don't know but the two toes I requested were HORRENDOUS. Both lopsided and one was larger with acrylic than the other. ‍ I really exhausted and I didn't want to complain because I wanted to move on to the next service and get back to my hotel room and rest. While I was requesting the add on service I asked if she would be able to also do a lower leg wax since I would be sitting in the chair for a while for my pedicure. She said she wasn't sure and once my hands were done that she might have time. As she turns her she rolls her eyes and shakes her head! This was the translator. I asked and told her if not it was cool too. Well after giving me the spa pedicure treatment she does the wax. Oh boy! She hardly used the wax and only did the front of leg and not the back. Again, I was really exhausted and didn't want to have an argument. Fine, moving on to my hands. LORD! I booked extension with nail polish powder. Umm. Starts right in the nail polish powder. The translator was sitting next to us with a client and when I got her attention I told her I booked an extension. She's like are you sure? And I said no yes I booked it. She checks and confirms and tells me, it early enough for her to restart my nails for the extension. Oh thank you for your generosity! ‍ Mind you I had prepaid for the services when booking. I have NEVER had my hands done and they not been prep my nails like push back my cuticles and trim them. She did nothing but start with buffing on my nail bed and start with the extensions with the glue. She also went under my nails and added the glue which my skin get attached to the nail. Several of my nails were stuck together like this. ‍ Oh boy and the nail shape. I asked oval. Ended with lopsided round. Then lumps in the nail gel powder. ‍ I did mention it and tried to buff a few out which meant she saw them but then those spots looked like mini hills when she dipped again in the nail powder. LORD! ‍ Okay. I know now I will have get my nails redone when I get back home because this was WILD work. So now it's time to pay for the addons ( lower leg wax and the two toes) charges me $40. I pay. Time for gratuity. I put none. I am not one to not tip but that WHOLE experience was TERRIBLE. The tech made eye contact with me when she saw the receipt and the one who first spoke to me about picking a color looked down at the receipt. She didn't ask anything on how the service was so I kept my mouth shut. Even the client who she was taking care of looked at me and could see how unhappy I was. I just walked out. This was a LONG one but honestly there was no exaggeration to what happened there. Sorry to blast the tech but her name was Cathy. My service was on December 23rd. Would NEVER recommend this establishment.

I liked it because it's conveniently located near my gym and I can walk there...plus they have Sunday appointments, which was a game changer for me. It's nice in there - a converted row home that still has exposed brick, plus comfy seating virtually everywhere. That said, I've been here 2x now. The first visit I received a spa gel pedicure and a gel polish change on my fingernails. Overall, the care I received was good, tho there was a sharp pinch on one of my toes during the cuticle cutting part of my pedicure. I appreciated the gentleness with which the nail tech removed the old gel from my fingernails, and the whole process was fairly quick (aside from the initial wait), which is awesome. One of my nails was super craggy at the bottom after a week though, which was not awesome, but happens sometimes. My second visit, I only did a polish change on my fingernails. Again, the tech was super gentle removing the old gel and she quickly painted my nails. I'm 3 days out from my last appointment and another fingernail has craggy nail polish at the bottom, but I hope it's something I can mention next time I visit. This place is OK with me.

I had never had lash extensions before and didn't know what to expect. I was comfortable, and was constantly asked about my comfort level which was nice. Obviously, I got a little uncomfortable sitting still for such a long time, as was expected, but was pleasantly surprised by the results. My lashes looked absolutelu beautiful. I am Asian, and have super short and straight lashes that get eaten up by my hooded lids, and somehow the lash technician was able to make something out of nothing. Just like magic. I am overall quite happy with my experience and services. In terms of some constructive criticism, I only have a few nit picky observations. As I have super sensitive eyes, I immediately started tearing up, which is the only warning I have for those new to lash extensions in general. The quality of the lashes themselves feel a little hard and don't feel high end, however (although what do I know; I'm not a professional and I don't know that much. I'm just stating an observation). I'm around week 2 for my lash extensions and I find that my lashes on my left side are falling out significantly faster than my right side, which is a little annoying for someone who is a little obsessive compulsive like myself. Overall, I would rate my experience a 4/5 just because of price, lasting power of my lashes, and quality of lashes. But customer service leaves nothing to be desired, so I'm giving Lashful Ladies a respectable 4.5/5
