I love Athena , all the ladies that work there are quite talented and friendly.. highly recommend

I came in because after only a few days of having my gel x manicure the polish bubbled and started to lift off. I loved how it looked originally though so just came in for them to redo the polish.... Instead they took off all my nails and said I needed to start over and the result was terrible. All I needed was a polish change and she ruined the length, shape and style of my nail. It looks like I have clubbed fingers and my nail is soooo short. She also ignored me when I questioned the length. I just wanted my same nails I came in with... I'm so upset that I now have to go on vacation with these terrible nails and wasted 2 hours when I could've been sleeping before work :/ ive never left a review but I'm just so disappointed I dont know how she could possibly think this looked better than how I came in... I provided the before (red nails) and the after

Gel mani by Bandana - color is #375

Just left the salon and had a great experience! I made a same-day appointment over the phone for a gel mani. When I arrived, the woman at the front was very sweet and had me choose my nail color. There's a great selection here of gel polishes! Bandana was my nail tech and she was so great! She tested the color I chose on my nail first to make sure I would like it since it was a bit clear/on the natural side, and after she shaped my nails she would check in to make sure I liked it. One of my natural nail was even broken and I didn't notice, but she was able to apply glue to it to hold it together which I really appreciated! While Bandana was working to make my nails beautiful, I was watching Love It Or List It on HGTV. And at the end of the entire experience I was happy to see that my cuticles were clean and the polish was applied perfectly! The gel mani was $35 plus I tipped $8 (CASH tips only!) Well worth the work and experience-- I'll definitely be back to try the pedicures.

I had a great experience at Athena! I was scheduled for a pedicure at 6:30pm, and eyelash extension at 7pm. I was 10 minutes late, but Susu was super nice and accommodating. I only waited 2 minutes before receiving my pedicure. The waiting area is also very nice. I think Susu's little dog was just roaming the salon, and she was SO adorable, friendly, and well-behaved. That made my day haha. The pedicure ($27) was sweet and simple, and my tech also used a scrub that felt really nice and warm towels that felt great. She was so sweet, and Food Network was also on which was another plus I was pretty nervous about getting eyelash extensions because I've never done them before. After researching them and reading different reviews I decided to go for the plunge! Susu explained the whole process very well, and I didn't feel pushed to choose one type of lash over another. She actually explained the differences between the two sets offered in detail, and I ended up with the volume lashes ($180). Susu is super talented and patient, and her skill with lashes really shows. The process of getting the lashes on went well, and I felt relaxed the entire time. After the procedure is over, Susu tells you how to take care of the lashes and maintain them. I'm in love with my lashes! I wanted a more natural look and they definitely look great. Overall, I had a great time at Athena and I'll come back to touch up my lashes in 3-4 weeks :).

Love this place! It was clean and my nail technician paid attention to detail when doing my gel manicure and pedicure. And they do beautiful designs!!!! I will definitely return in 2-3 weeks.

They were very covid cautious & I appreciate that! But the quality of the actual service was disappointing. My husband, son & I all got pedicures + 1 polish change. 2 of us got started on right away while my son waited almost 20 minutes even though we had appointments. My nails were cut round when everyone should know toenails get cut straight across to deter ingrown toenails. Also, my polish was not even put on the entire nail. My son's fingernail polish change was done while in the pedicure chair instead being sat at a table. My husband was charged an extra $5 for his callouses + an extra $5 for buffing! I was made to pay with veno by the owner & so I'm not even sure my persons got their appropriate tip. Everyone was very nice but based on quality I would not recommend.

My favorite part is the vitality pool, heated stone chairs, sauna, and lounge. It was great to relax with those amenities. Everything was extremely clean. The vitality pool/sauna area is separated by gender and clothing optional. However, phones are allowed, and while it is fine to have one in a robe pocket, phones should not be out when others are around, especially in an area like that. But that is allowed, so be wary. Our massages were fine, but nothing we would rush back to or pay for again. I'd want to try a body scrub or wrap, my typical spa service. I'd also love to visit in warmer weather and use the outdoor pool. I am very much looking forward to returning.

He doesn't know anything about spas or pricing, so he called over to the four seasons. All they had available was a 20 min hydrofacial (bc it's a busy day, duh). The issue is that they charged THREE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FIVE DOLLARS (yes, you read that right - $375) for a 20-MINUTE hydrofacial. Aka someone rubbed lotion on my face for 13 minutes. when I inquired about this very exorbitant bill, they said - this was the price agreed upon via email, according to our dynamic pricing. (In a very rude, snide tone, with a fake smile). I called my husband who said - yes, I agreed to that, but I was told you would have access to very nice amenities for several hours. LOL! Very nice? Yes, I know the four seasons name SHOULD have very nice amenities. This locker room was so small and so crowded that I couldn't even walk 1 step without bumping into someone. The person giving us a tour kept apologizing for how messy it was ("sorry, it's a really busy weekend for us") - no towels out, etc. there is a small hot tub - sorry, that's not exactly novel. There are two lounging areas. One with three chairs that look out onto... nothing, just a window with frosted glass that you can't see through. Six lounging chairs, and one small table outside that does have a nice view. (This is the only view in the entire spa). They have a small sauna room also. Nothing out of the ordinary, and not up to expectations for what is supposed to be a four seasons spa. On top of that, every single person in that spa was sitting/lying scrolling on their phones. In what world are phones allowed in a spa, let alone in a "clothing optional" hot tub room??! So I paid four hundred dollars for 13 mins of a facial massage (which WAS nice) and then sat outside at a random table for an hour. left quickly because there wasn't anything else to do to kill time. I just cannot believe that a place can charge that much for a service. Totally inappropriate, waste of money, do not recommend.

And overall, I just wanted to see the entire place because there was so much they were offering on the website. I thought to myself this would be a great place for One-Stop shopping in therapy & self-care. When I called to get more information about the IV treatments, I was referred to the website of the third party who was actually providing the treatment. It was good information and I was all in! When we arrived the gentleman at the front desk, I believe his name is Adrian, notice my hat and we had a very long conversation. We were both from New Mexico and had a lot to exchange. He showed us around and was very pleasant. Small world! When we were completing the tour the practitioner arrived to give us IV treatments. My partner was set up in a chair that seemed to be used for the IV treatments. It was something like a dentist chair but you could tell it was specifically for that purpose. Then a customer arrive to use the bike (for some sort of oxygen treatment) and another employee basically came and said we had to move. She made us felt as though we were intruding because the woman administering the IV treatment was a third party vendor (she further relayed she had no control over those appointments so we had to move). It was off-putting. We moved into a room that seemed to be for massage therapy. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. The woman administering the IV treatment had to break out her phone flashlight to get enough light to administer the IV. I also use the red light therapy bed and honestly looked forward to trying some of the other therapies (specifically massage & acupuncture), but I don't think this is for me. The massage rooms look very private and perhaps calming. However, there seems to be a lot going on in the main space. It gives me locker room vibes, which may work for some, but it was not what I was expecting. If you live in the city, you can have IV treatments at your home. They'll come to you. That's what I've done going forward.

Unsurprisingly, most of the negative reviews are from people trying to deal with their gift certificates or gift cards since they are not able to provide reasonable service to people unfamiliar with their procedures. Throughout the process, I had to chase the owner, Gary, repeatedly over text and phone in order to get any information. A list of things I wish I knew before attempting to use a gift certificate here: I was alone in the building, not just the room, with an unknown man. Zen and the City is a therapist-owned establishment that has appointment-only booking for services. In light of this description, I probably should have known that I would be alone with my massage therapist. Except the website contains none of that information, which I only learned about after the appointment, so I was blindsided. My massage therapist was a very nice man who did his best to make me feel welcome and taken care of (Thank you, Anthony. You were the only good part of this whole experience!), but it was hard to set aside how uncomfortable it was to be alone with a strange man without knowing before that no one else would be there. The gift certificates (physical) and gift cards (e-cards) are redeemed in different ways. The website doesn't make it clear (either in the description or during the purchase) that physical gift certificates are only redeemable for a specific service, and that the gift certificates and gift cards are considered two different products. When I got the certificate for Zen and the City, neither my father (who bought this as a gift) nor I knew there was a difference between the two until after I had my appointment and was told otherwise. If you redeem the service-specific gift certificate for the wrong service by mistake, Zen and the City will not inform you of the mistake when you book your appointment and will instead pocket the remaining money without further services or refund, even after their error is pointed out to them. I suspect they would have prevented me from redeeming the gift certificate for something that was MORE money than the one I used, but when I accidentally used it from something that cost LESS, I was only told afterwards when I couldn't fix my mistake, or receive a refund for the balance. The initial confirmation text message is meaningless. It doesn't accurately reflect that an appointment's successfully been made (because you get a text regardless), and it does not result in you being correctly signed up to receive text messages. Instead, they will contact you by email, no matter your indicated preference (which they don't know anyway because they never ask for your preference). If there is a problem with your email address, they will not use your phone number to follow up. There will be no further attempt to contact you. I'll be honest and admit that I made quite a few mistakes in attempting to deal with Zen and the City, and I accept the responsibility of those mistakes. However, I think it's important for future potential customers to know beforehand that this is the kind of business that is happy to take advantage of your confusion, your mistakes, or your unexpected illness (check out their sick policy). It's up to you whether you want to risk giving this place your money and time.
