I was just at the spot I started going to in B-More but alas, today they weren't as receptive as they usually are. I left and walked one block and found this salon and here we are. I didn't have an appointment and I was told there would be a wait. While I waited, I was offered a chair massage. This was such a great idea as by the time Susan was ready to start my Pedi, I was well and truly relaxed. Susan's pedicure is top notch. You should see how she's even holding my toes. (Writing this review while she works) Don't judge the lack of "prettiness" in here on the same level as skills. They may not have all the fancy lighting and, art decor etc but this is one of the best regular pedicures I've had for a long time. My toenails are being prodded, filed, cleaned, massaged and lotioned like they are going for inspection. I am thoroughly enjoying and appreciLIKING how professional and thorough Susan is! Recently, while my wife and I enjoyed a day date, I witnessed a nail technician at After Hour make an extremely offensive comment asking my wife "what cotton field do she work at"showcasing blatant racism. I'm terribly embarrassed and disgusted by this behavior. Our son was murdered Dec.27 2024 and took my wife to enjoy a day of relaxation and to have to endure this type of pain on top of the pain of loosing our 21 year old son! Man I'm so DISGUSTED!!!!!! The owner is very nice which is why I went back and forth about whether to leave this review. However, this has been my consistent experience so it seems worth sharing. No matter what time I come in (appointment or not) I am made to wait at LEAST 30 minutes. This last experience was it for me. I came in after calling and realized I wouldn't be seen for a while. I asked when I should come back and they gave me a time to come back which I did. When I arrived I waited another 47 minutes. I would have left but the benefit of this nail shop is they are open later and will accommodate a later appt so at that time all the other nail salons were either closing or already closed. As another review mentioned there was no apology or acknowledgement of the excessive wait and I'm not sure how sanitary the tools are. I don't mind a place being dated as long as the quality speaks for itself but unfortunately that's not the case here either. The owner who did my pedicure did an okay job but there's no paraffin wax and she put the lotion on my legs while they were still wet which I have never had done before so the massage was subpar. For my nails I didn't want to spend any additional time so I opted for a simple French which she did for me while I was in the pedicure chair bc at that point I was the last one there. The nails looked decent enough but it was when I got home I realized the tips were uneven and one of them broke the next day. As nice as the owner is, unless they come up with a scheduling system or hire more ppl you are wasting precious time. read more

I checked Yelped for "Best Nail Salons" within 3 miles from where I live. After Hours Nails and Spa was one of the first to come up. I called to make an appointment the day before my visit with no problem. The lady on the phone was very patient and kind when answering questions. My appointment was for 10am the following morning. I arrived on time and I was seated and taken care of right away. I needed a fill in, 3 nails repaired and my nails cut down. My total, $54 bucks. Fair! There were only 2 of us being serviced at 10 am. My nail tech was diligent and so precise, also very quiet :) I do not remember her name, she didn't tell me. She was seated at the first chair in the front of the salon. The nice, talkative lady in the back polished my nails because the next appointment just arrived for a fill in. I chose a nude colored gel polish and wanted just 2 abstract nail designs (lines and squares). She wasn't confident in executing so I chose to stick with the plain nude color. I still love them and would return in a rush. I really wanted just 2 designs and really, really like a little more lush and spazz when getting my nails and toes done so I'll keep looking for "my" salon. read more

I Yelped nail salons in my area and made an appointment with After Hour because it had the best reviews. The reviews were WELL DESERVED! I spent almost 3 hours there (a wee long) but it was because of the excellent and thorough service I received from Natalie. I arrived around 11am on a Saturday. 2 staff members were tending to customers, with 2 other customers (and a kid) waiting as well. I was told to pick out a color, which I did, then I sat in the front of the establishment. The nail salon is in a converted row home, was clean and orderly. After sitting about 10 minutes, one of the staff had me follow her to the back where she set me up in the pedicure chair - one of those awesome chairs that massage. I sat there for a while while she, the woman I came to know as Natalie, went back and completed the manicure of another customer. The wait was fine, that massage chair was everything, and I got to relax. When Natalie got back to me, I was mush from that chair. THEN she started on my feet. She took such care, cutting and scraping. There was a little massage too, and she made good conversation the whole time! Same deal when we sat down at her work station so she could do my gel manicure. She was diligent and exact, very careful and did such a great job. I hope she takes pride in her work! Working in the dental field, I'm especially picky about fine details, and Nathalie happily makes any adjustments. I just went in to try the SNS dip acrylic nails with Susan, and I am also impressed! She did an amazing job with my overgrown cuticles, and she shaped my nails perfectly. I had a pink and white ombré. It looks like seashells, and it's SO glossy! I just recently went to see Nathalie and Susan. This time I went in for pink and white acrylic nails take off (done at another salon), basic manicure, and basic pedicure. Like always welcoming staff. I just love how Nathalie Susan always warm and welcoming. I just recently had a eye opener. I really wanted a ombre pink and white acrylic powder. Which unfortunately Nathalie salon does not do this service yet. Which lead me to two different salons one to actually do my nails. The second to do a fill in cause the first salon was just a nightmare. Enough about my cheat adventures. I was debating what to do with my nails. I finally decided to re visit Nathalie and get my nails removed and I am currently letting both my toes and nails rest without polish. After being in 2 different salons. I'm a sucker for great customer service and also quite particular about my nails. I was thrilled to finally see the nail shape I prefer, done well in the review pictures. I was even more thrilled to have my needs met so quickly. I called to make an appointment and Nathalie happily accommodated my request immediately. Natalie was very understanding & easy to talk to when it came to figuring out what my group of 8 needed to get done. Very friendly staff and this newer salon. Outside of very friendly the team does a very good job! I received a manicure and pedicure, wow did they work wonders on me. The pedicure was relaxing and my feet still feel soft while they scrubbed all of my calluses from fall away. The manicure as nicely done and lasted almost a week before it started chipping. I was on vacation and just trimmed the nails myself and the color then lasted another week. Overall good people, good service my only downside is they can be a little slow- took 2 1/2 hours for mani and pedi. Maybe they were taking their time (I appreciated the attention) but also did not intend for the late night. Check them out and see if they are running any specials. I don't normally write Yelp reviews but I thought this nail salon really deserved one from me. I had a great manicure experience from beginning to end. I first sent a Yelp message asking if there were any availabilities for the day and Nathalie promptly responded. I then called to schedule an appointment, and literally 30 minutes after hanging up, I was sitting in the chair getting my nails filed while being offered drinks (water, coffee, wine). Definitely recommend scheduling an appointment, but availabilities shouldn't be too hard to come by. I got a classic manicure (reasonably priced at $15, and they give student discounts or 12-3p discounts) by Nathalie. I'm very picky with the length of my nails since I'm a student and spend 50% of my day typing away on my laptop, and Nathalie consistently asked to make sure I was happy with the length and shape of my nails before moving on. I'm also extremely picky with my polish colors -- like so picky that I always bring my own color to every nail salon appointment. She was happy to use mine, but lightly suggested that I consider using a similar color that she thought might better compliment my skin tone. She painted one nail in her suggested color and one nail in my own polish color so that I could compare them, and I actually LOVED her suggestion and am wearing the color right now! During my appointment, a couple of other people came in as walk-ins, and though she wasn't finished with me, she handled it very gracefully. Even with people waiting, she really took her time with my manicure -- the paint job is perfect. On top of all of that, Nathalie was super kind and more caring about my satisfaction than most, if not all, nail techs who have painted my nails. I definitely plan to be back! read more

After Hour Nails and Spa is the best salon in Baltimore. I have gone at least 4 times now and always get a nice, fresh look. Nathalie is very kind and always willing to fix any mistakes. I currently have a week old gel manicure and regular pedicure and only have a couple small chips even after swimming and hiking in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee this past week. I've been to other salons and can't guarantee that kind of lasting results. I even know that if I were to have a major chip after a couple days, the staff at After Hours would be absolutely willing to patch it up.
