I enjoyed my spa plus pedicure with Vivian ! I booked online Thursday and snagged the last am appointment as I knew I'd be in town visiting friends this weekend. I arrived 5 minutes early and checked in without issue and my service started right on time. I did ask about acrylic overlay for my big toes as they often chip but Vivian I informed me they don't offer that and opted to use a bit of glue on one break I just got. I appreciated how she took her time and the end results were great. The business is clean and very intimate (I was the only person for the 1st 30 minutes of the appointment). I had my first appointment here on September 4th for a full acrylic set with gel polish. I have no complaints about this set, and all nails remained in tact with no lifting until my fill. I made an appointment for a fill on Saturday, October 11th because the original set was holding up so well. During this appointment, I had the nail tech make the shape a bit more to my liking and did a simple French tip design. During the appointment, I noticed that (unlike other fills I've gotten), she did not go around the base of the nail to clip any potential lifting-- she just went straight into applying a new layer of acrylic. I'm not the professional, so I didn't think anything of it. The design came out beautiful, and I was again happy with the service. Unfortunately, two days later on Monday, October 13th, half of a nail popped off when I was wiping my hands. The acrylic popped off, but did not cause any damage to my nail underneath. They are closed Tuesdays, so I called on Wednesday to ask when I could come in to have the nail fixed. Ordinarily, when a customer is inconvenienced because of an application error, I would expect the service provider to correct it immediately. Instead, they told me to come in Thursday. I was slightly disappointed, but agreed. On Thursday, October 16th I went in and got the nail fixed. During this appointment, the nail tech noted she filed down too low on my nails and checked the integrity of the rest of the nails. She fixed the broken nail, and I was on my way. Two days later on Saturday, October 18th, I knocked a different nail on the stove. I've been getting acrylic nails for a decade and have jammed my nails much much worse and not caused any damage. This was merely a graze on the top of the stove. On Sunday, October 19th, I realized that this caused a crack in the middle of the nail. With some finesse, I was able to get the tip off without disrupting my natural nail, but this had already caused a complete tear to the middle of my nail bed, so I had to clip my natural nail down. Within a week of getting the fill, I've had two nail breaks and this was not due to any aggressive treatment to my hands. Worse, this second break has gone down to the middle of the nail bed, so I can't get this fixed. This is a luxury service and this shop has add on costs for everything (including for certain shapes). I can't, in good conscience, recommend this shop or its technicians because there are clearly quality assurance issues. The only reason I would return is to get the rest of this set soaked off because it is clearly a hazard. For the price, absolutely unacceptable. read more

Today I just paid $112 for a basic gel manicure and pedicure. The nails weren't even filed straight!! Online through the booking website they act as if the charge for the basic pedicure is $37 but then they charge you 28 extra dollars for gel polish without telling you anything. Plus, they have a cold, unwelcoming attitude and being a black woman, I could feel some hostility as well. Definitely not the place to go melanated women I will never be back here again. Overpriced, unfriendly, and overall a waste! Also, please be aware that they only have one nail tech who is a male that actually has some skills, the rest of the nail techs can only do the basic regular and gel polish, which is why they overcharge. If they charge what the services were really worth they wouldn't make any money because they don't have skilled techs. I should've known when the place was empty! read more

My friend was in town visiting and we wanted to get pedis. I found N Nails & Spa Lounge by doing a quick internet search and decided to give them a try. We had no appts so we decided to get there early. We arrived around 1030am and only had to wait a few mins before the nail tech came over. The salon is spacious, nicely decorated and clean. You can tell they were intentional about making the salon appear luxurious and peaceful. We both decided to get the Organic Spa Pedicure with gel polish. This pedicure gets you the basic pedicure services with added sea salt soak, sugar scrub , mud mask and massage butter. Followed by a hot towel service with an extended foot and calf massage. This particular pedicure costs $50 and then an additional $20 for gel polish. My nail tech was meticulous and I do like the end result. However, she did not impress me with the foot and calf massage which is my favorite part of any pedicure. Then there was the tech who did my friend's pedi. My friend wanted french tip. There were some lines that were not straight and the tech told my friend it's because her toe nails are crooked smh. She refused to fix it. Then we get to the register and my friends total is $80 because in addition to the pedi and gel polish it's $10 for french tip on your toes. That is criminal considering she didn't do a good job. The lackluster massage, over priced gel and French tip, and how my friend was treated is why I won't return or recommend this place. If you're going to charge that much the experience should be luxury from beginning to end. There was no attempt to rectify the situation and I didn't like that at all. read more

Been going to a local spot for a few months before stumbling across this brand new place today. I'm so glad I did. This is a beautifully furnished, spacious and airy salon. The staff were able to accommodate me as a walk in and made me feel very welcome. The prices are reasonable and comparable to other spots in the neighborhood. The pedicure chairs have built in massage capabilities so I got to enjoy that too! My gel manicure with modest nail art was done exactly as I wanted. The pedicure was fantastic - didn't rush it, took their time cleaning up my feet! I did pay the extra $8 for the add on option of a 5 minute foot massage which was definitely worth it. I came in no appointment and they accommodated me which was great but I asked for a simple design of a few lines on my big toe and plain for everything else and they told me they don't do designs. Disappointed I went on with the session because I had already put my feet in the water and I don't want to be an ass. At the end of the pedicure someone sat next to me and asked for a design. They said yes. Herein lies my problem. Why can't I have a design but she can? They also asked her if the temp of the water was ok but no one asked me. I really wanted to like this place. The inside is nice and the people were friendly. However, I don't think it's safe there. I told them I wanted gel (not powder) because I didn't want my nails to become brittle. She started removing gel and kept using very abrasive methods until one of my thumb nails cracked. The owner just happened to come over and I asked her, do you think this is ok? She said no, you might get bacteria inside. So I suggested (they didn't say sorry or suggest anything to fix it)- ok, do you think maybe I should get some kind of sealant? At which point, they put bonding powder on both thumbs (both cracked I realized) and then was told to wash my hands without soap? Won't that wash off the powder? I have no idea... I'm not a nail tech! Ha. Also, despite many attempts by me and the owner who could translate, she cut down my nails to make an oval shape, using clippers vertically that went down into my nail bed- not painful but was uncomfortable and not what I wanted... I wanted them to cut straight across and keep my natural shape. We both even pointed to the nail techs own nails as an example. Then it was time to pay. They charged me for the bonding despite that they caused the injury! Then tried to haggle with me about a discount, never once saying sorry. I'm a sucker for cleanliness and an efficient booking system. This place has both plus I was able to get a last min Sunday morning appointment. They even have a reward system for repeat customers so I thought this had potential to become my new place. My first visit was nice. It's far more spacious than some other salons. They also have a nice selection of colors. My pedicure was done by one person and my dip nails were done by Logan. It was quicker than other places but the nails were thicker than I like. Decided to try them again and take a friend. Second experience left a lot to be desired. They wanted to rush the soak-off process and when I wanted the dip to actually soak off I was told I'd have to wait a while to get mine done. My friend's pedicure took almost 1.5 hours and when I asked if she used the first time discount, Logan said he'd done her nails before. Only problem was she'd never been there before. I'll give them the stars for the space, easy booking and rewards system and cleanliness but it was clear the customer experience is not more important than their dollars. It's been nearly two months since I had my experience with this nail salon, and I'm still attempting to get my money back from where they overcharged me by almost $100 to avoid refunding me $10! I have called and spoke to the manager who's told me he would get back to me, yet never did. I've had to file a dispute with my bank. This is really poor business practice. Don't bother to make an appointment because it will not be honored. I called Saturday afternoon and booked an appointment for 1:30pm the next day for a pedicure and acrylic fill in. I arrived on time but was not seated in the pedicure chair until 2:15. The little elderly lady who did my pedicure was terrible! It took her an hour and a half to do a basic pedicure. And she cut my toes so badly when she cut my cuticles that they burned all over when she sprayed alcohol on them. I was happy with my fill in by the manager or whoever the lady was who seemed to be in charge. But I will not return because they did not respect my time. When I asked her to show me the appointment book and the purpose of making an appointment when they were 45 minutes late, then she tried to act like she didn't understand what I was say when she spoke and understood English perfectly previously. read more

I really enjoyed my mani and pedi here. I chose the spa plus pedicure which came with massage, exfoliation, callus removal, pumice stone, hot wax, and warm towel. I throughly enjoyed my pedicure though I wish they added soap to the water. I requested Logan when I set up my appointment but was serviced by Tina. The chairs were high quality and it included a wireless charging station while you wait. The space was extremely clean, quiet, and spacious. They were not busy which was very shocking since I went on a Friday evening around 6p. The walls blocked out the busy sounds of Charles st, loud bars, and tons of people. I had a basic manicure with clear polish which was pretty standard. Overall I had a great experience. I would definitely return because I loved the prices ($52 for spa pedicure & $25 for basic manicure). Though I loved my experience, I hated the parking. It took forever to find a place to park in that area considering so many people are down there for bars and restaurants. I drove around for about 30 min looking for a spot that wouldn't result in me getting towed. I couldn't find a spot so I opted to park in the garage nearby cross street market. Because I was there during the evening, I had to pay $18 to park. That's very expensive considering I was only in the area for a mani/pedi. Next time, I would opt to go during the day and not on a weekend for better parking options. Otherwise, I would plan to park very far and walk to save money in the evening or on weekends. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! *long review sorry* On Friday afternoon 2/9 I went in for a full dip powder set. I've been doing dip powder for about 1.5 years at a few different salons so I'm familiar with the standard. I've NEVER had such a brittle dip powder set. The girl only put 2 layers of the powder (should've spoken up then but wanted to trust the process) and the nails were very thin. By Sunday 2/11, 3 of my nails were either cracked, chipped, or lifting. Also need to note that I spent $75 on these nails before tip ($90 with tip)... I usually go simple but this time decided to treat myself with a design which I regret now. Due to my work schedule and the shops hours I wasn't able to get in till Wednesday afternoon 2/14. By this time even more nails were chipped and the ones that had broken on Sunday were in a worse state than before (forgot to take pics of how they looked by Wednesday). So I told them that I'd rather get a whole new set as they'd have to fix over half the nails anyways and I didn't trust that more nails wouldn't break later. My appointment was for 2:30 but they didn't start on me until 3:10... they had me with the same girl who originally did my nails so I was already stressed. She starts soaking off the nails and asks me if I'm willing to pay for a new set... excuse me?! I said I'm not willing to pay full price and will need a big discount at the very least. Ideally they should have comped the whole set. I didn't do any vigorous activity to break these nails, it was 100% the salons fault that I had to come back and get another set. Normally I make my dip powder sets last 3 weeks. These broke within 48 hours... the nail tech went and spoke with her boss who said the best they could do is a 50% discount. At this point I just wanted the situation to be over so I agreed. I had her cut the nails shorter, put on a thicker layer of powder, and kept my design much simpler. I will say that the second set she did was very nice (I'll attach a picture) but the time, money, and frustration I wasted for this situation was not worth it at all. My 2nd set ended up being $30 ($35 with tip cuz I just feel weird not tipping) which isn't very much but it's the principle that matters. So ya I would save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. Ms Q said and did things to me that were absolutely inexcusable. It was borderline abusive, seriously! I rarely leave negative reviews and considered just trying to call the owner on Wednesday when they open up, because honestly the other professionals who work there are quite lovely, but unfortunately I feel obliged to make sure you all know that this particular nail tech is actually a horrible human being. I went in for pedicure on Saturday around 5 and it was very disappointing. The 3 stars is for the atmosphere including the places cleanliness. For $37 I expected more than 20-25 minute pedicure. I've been in search of a new nail salon in the neighborhood after being disappointed multiple times by some other places. I was very happy with N Nails! I got a gel manicure and my nail tech was extremely thorough and so sweet. It's been over a week and it is holding up really well. Another nail tech had helped me pick the color initially and he was so friendly offering advice about it. The salon itself is beautiful and very clean. Excited to come back again to try a pedicure! The 1st time I came to N Nails I was so impressed. The salon is clean, the staff is polite, and the services I received, a pedi and a acrylic fill, were done so well. I made an appointment for my second visit for a spa pedi and a full set with a design. The tech who did my pedicure did an amazing job. When she was done, she told me to sit and relax until they were ready to do my full set. Once the person ahead of me finished, the new tech told me to wait so she can do someone else's nails who came in after me. I was in the pedi chair getting repeat massages so I waited patiently for like 30 minutes. The tech doing the full set brings me to the chair. She says, "you're getting a design? It has to be something simple. I have other appointments after you." A complete turn off after I was made to wait when I had an appointment. I wanted the service so I chose to let that slide. I show her what I want for a design. She grabs my phone to talk to someone else about the design then says she can't do it. I asks what can you do? And can you get started while I find something else that's a little more basic. She told me now I'm making her wait. That's when I started to get upset. I asked if anyone else could do my nails or the design. She said no one else knew how and the guy who did them the 1st time is on vacay. I found another design and she told me no. These really were simple designs. She just didn't want to do it. I wish I knew her name but she was obviously in charge today. Here station is closed to the drying station.
