Extremely rushed and underwhelming service. It is advertised ONLINE that they are open until 7pm during the week. During appointment booking, I tried to book for 5 & was asked to come earlier. When you arrive it is very clear they don't want to work past 5. The lady rushed my pedicure and manicure. - Didn't ask what package I wanted - Didnt let my feet soak at all before trying to cut nails and remove calluses. - Usually legs get wrapped in one hot towel EACH, 1 single towel was draped over only the front of my feet and legs. - hand soaking water was cold - hand cuticles were sloppily removed. - extra skin was ripped off This is my 3rd time coming within a year and each time has gotten worse, from 3 start to one star. I hate complaining... I really do. But... Got a last minute pedicureappointment on a Sunday afternoon. While I appreciate that they were willing to fit me in, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a certain standard of service. My nail technician was very nice, but clearly inexperienced. She left nail polish on the skin around my toes. She accidentally smudged one toe, resulting in her adding additional polish. The rest of the toes only have two inconsistent, very light coats, so all of the toes are different colors. A few of them are still see-through! (Incidentally, the toe she had to correct, my left big toe, is the only one that's actually the color it's supposed to be, as she added extra polish.) read more

This is a long overdue review for NV Nail Up. My Mom & I been going to NV for 5 years and we refer everyone to them. I get a simple dip mani every 3-4 weeks, rarely a design. My nails are perfect every single time and I'm constantly asked where I go when people see my nails because they aren't thick like other dip can be. First time going. Perfect example of what I asked for vs what I got which turned out to be not what I asked for. The technician I had lacked skill which confused me because when I called they seemed very confident about the dip powder ombre nails. When I showed the pic of what I wanted she said it was too complicated. When I showed a less complicated design she said no problem yet when it was time to do the design she changed course and suggested gold foil. This lost my confidence in her that she could even do the design asked for so I went with the gold foil design. My pedicure came out pretty but I did pay for the spa pedicure and had to come home and scrub my feet a little more (my feet aren't jacked up but did need some attention). She also cut my toe nails without asking if I wanted them cut first. I usually just liked them filed into shape only. The staff was pleasant at first but as the appointment went on they were less accommodating and not really caring about what I truly wanted. It was expensive and not worth a second try. I came to this nail place Saturday 08-03 for a pedicure. Paid for gel pedicure. The technician that assisted me was nice however she did not paint my gel color correctly. My gel color came off my big toe the very next day. I returned to the nail place 5 days later on Wednesday to kindly ask for the nail gel color to be corrected. They gave me a very hard time, asking for the color number, I obviously did not remember the color number, they had me wait a ridiculous time and I informed them that I was not waiting, then they tried to say that they could change the color but that I would have to pay. I informed the receptionist that I was not paying for their error. Pam one of the nail technicians was highly rude, she continue to make rude comments because i mistakenly dropped one of the gel color pallets, she said "this is expensive you need to be careful" I said expensive was my $50 pedicure and for your gel to come off the very next day. I informed them that I was not paying a dime and that they had to fix their mistake. I would never return to this nail place again! In order to keep a business you must have CUSTOMER SERVICE!! My sister went to them on Friday and on Tuesday her nails started lifting and two came off. Because they were all lifting, she wanted them removed. She went back on Tuesday and asked to have all nails soaked off and was told: that she would have to pay to have them soaked off even though all ten nails were lifting 4 days after service, that she should have called because there is only one person in the shop that can soak off her acrylic (I'm sure this is a lie), and that she would have to wait an hour before this person can even start her soak off (as if it takes a special talent to stick her fingers in acetone). She brought in her receipt as proof of when her service was provided but one of the nail techs continued to imply that what happened was her fault. I've always had a wonderful experience at NV Nails. I've made about 4 appointments here and I've always received great, welcoming service. The Atmosphere is very clean, relaxing and they always have a good playlist on. Their receptionist is always very sweet and I appreciate that they call and confirm appointments. I've been coming to this place pretty regularly every 2-4 weeks for the last six months after I stopped in one day on a whim and I'm never going anywhere else ever again. I love this place! I always get an SNS manicure with tips and it is perfect every time. My nails are still looking great after three weeks and I only get them redone because they get too long and I struggle to type at work. If they break or chip it's because I was doing something dumb not because there was something wrong with the nails. My natural nails are still healthy despite near constant manicures which was not the case at other salons I've been to. Also, it doesn't seem to matter who does my nails, all of the techs are great. If I request art or some crazy design they always do their best to honor my requests and it always looks great. I've become a loyal customer! read more

This was my first time at this nail salon. The atmosphere was inviting and welcoming. I was greeted by the receptionist when I walked in the salon after signing-in, I inquired about what I wanted and was informed of the cost. I was quickly seated to be serviced. I needed a soak off, a full set with Ombre dipped powder. First time trying dipped powder.I am so pleased with my nails. I can't stop looking at them. It is a little more than what I am use to pay but it's worth every penny. The salon was very clean with relaxing music. Jay was very professional and knowledgeable about what I was having done. Jay also informed me of what to do about the nail fungus that I had on a few of my nails. This is the best service I have had in the last 6 weeks. If I could give more then 5 stars I would. For starters, I went in at 4:15 on a day when they close at 5. All I wanted was a manicure. The guy assigned to me made me feel like I was inconveniencing him. Their manicures advertise a 6 minute (assuming 3 minutes per hand) hand massage. What I received was more of a 2 minute hand squeeze. Then he painted my nails and I could still see my old polish through the new because he failed to clean out under my nails. There was so much old polish and other stuff under my nails I had to go home and do it myself. To top it off, it was $20 for a standard manicure (not gel). For a $48 gel manicure I would hope my nails last at least a week. The nail tech was very nice, but didn't speak English. He took a chunk out of my left thumb cuticle and it was bleeding. I saw beautiful picks of nails done by this salon prior to booking my appointment. The salon employee's were very nice and accommodating, but I was disappointed by the end result of both hands and toes nails. My dip looks rushed and there is a lump at the base of each nail. I asked for it to be flattened, and they told me that they couldn't flatten it anymore than what it is because there is a tip under it towards the top, and it would look funny. My toes were cut down without my permission because I asked for a french (sadly I was talking to my friend at the time, and didn't see that she was about to cut my big toe nail). When I jumped back and told the tech that I didn't want my toenails cut down, but only filed, she never tried to accommodate by asking if I wanted a tip on that nail free of charge for the mishap. She did apologize, but then she followed up with, "you asked for a french, and a french has to be square." No ma'am, a french can be any shape that you want it to be! You also didn't need to cut the tip of my nail off in order for it to be square (btw, she never asked what shape I wanted either). I grew back that toenail for months after it broke one day, and it still wasn't as long as I would've hoped, but the length would've sufficed for a small thickness french. It just needed to be shaped with a file. She had intentions on cutting the tip off, and creating her own white tip would the nub she left. I told her that I didn't want the tip anymore as there was nothing left to paint white, and to just paint all of my toenails orange. To add insult to injury, I got gel polish on my toenails. Less than a week went by and the gel polish came clean off of both toenails. One on each forth. I was so frustrated, that I didn't even bother to call them for it to be fixed. I got gel so it will last. I left for vacation after my toenails were done, my bday was a week later, and by the time my bday came while I was away, I was missing toenail polish. How?! It was gel! I also wanted a french because I intended on getting gel, and a french would've have last a very long time. When it grew out you wouldn't have been able to tell, and no matter what I did to my fingernails, my toes would've matched. read more

I would never think of writing the review like that. but I need to. I've been going to the salon for almost two years. The technician Jay has been doing good job but struggling with the shape of my nails and I needed to show him the pictures how oval/almond shape supposed to look. The prices aren't cheap in the salon and for my money plus tips I expected good service. For last three weeks I couldn't get an appointment with Jay. The managers kept calling me, rescheduling my appointments and explaining that Jay has long weekends and doesn't work on Sat. It turned out to be a lie when I rescheduled my appointment for last Saturday. Not to mention that during last three weeks I had to adjust my work schedule to get my nails and pedi done. Last Saturday I asked Jay what's going on. He said that he has his own list of regular clients who come every two weeks. I tried to clarify if HIS OWN clients call him directly and WHY the manager/scheduler kept rescheduling my appointments and misleading me. I didn't get the straight answer and his body language and avoiding eye contact proved that he was being dishonest with me. When I paid for the service, he approached me and said that I am too picky, and he doesn't want me. It was rude! Since when the nail technicians pick up their clientele as if they are the salon owner? If though, are they allowed to pick and choose? I've contacted the MD Board of Cosmetologists since they have the Code of Ethics, and the licensed technicians have to comply with it for not to lose the license. I expect the owner to contact me with the solution. The place is run unprofessionally and poorly managed. The technicians are unprofessional with attitude. The place is overpriced. read more

I called and made an appointment on 8/26 and requested over the phone to have a gel manicure with tips and designs, pedicure and eyebrow. I searched everywhere for a place that had pictures of nail artwork, so when I saw the pictures, I got excited. When I arrived, everyone was pleasant and nice. The lady who did my nails and toes was nice. However, she told me she didn't know how to do nail art and that I should've asked for designs on the phone when I made my appointment. I was so frustrated because that's exactly what I did. I left with nice service, but completely disappointed because I paid for a plain polish look when I requested more than once for a design. Don't be fooled by the pictures on the site. How is it that she nor anyone else have the ability to do my designs? Also the almond shaped tips I requested she put on were so crooked. I honestly didn't want to write this review and give them a chance but, this is ridiculous. I recently went to get my nails done (Gel full-set with tips) and I was pleased with it by the time I left. But, 4 days later my nail came right off so in return I called an informed them of what happened and they said I could get it fixed. I went and got my nail repaired and just today not even 5 days later I've lost 3 nails. I don't do any heavy lifting, I dont slam my nails, hit them against anything or nothing. There's no reason why my nails should be coming off so easily considering they're not cheap ! For what I pay for my nails im expecting good quality work and that's not what i've received at all!
