Poor customer service! Today is just one example. I specifically booked two appointments. One for pedicure and one for dip nails with 2 separate people because the nail lady does not give a good pedicure. She does no massage. Basic pedicure gets dry skin scrub and does at least a little massage. The nail lady got mad I didn't want her to do both and they started talking about me at the front desk in their language but you could tell they were talking about me. The one lady said to me I need to do both with one person. I explained why I booked that way and said if I need to have both with the same person, I need her to be told to do massage or I don't want her. They agreed and then she didn't do She was rude and even my 21 year old daughter said to me why is she acting like that towards you. I said because I asked for someone else to do my pedicure and she is mad about it. She said, if she wants you to choose her, she should do what you are supposed to get. Then, they were out of what I chose and she tried to talk me into something else because she didn't want to do a French manicure on me. The basic design she said she could do on the ring finger, she did wrong twice. I asked her to get the example and she said I'll just do it. So, when I told her fine, you can continue to try until you get it right, she got up to go get the example. When I checked out, the were giving out a free hand lotion. The had at least 25 or more on the counter. I said did you give one to my daughter, I know she would love one. He said it's one per paying customer! If you have two separate people who got their nails done, that's 2 customers. Just because I paid doesn't mean there are not two paying customers! I said if I had paid for them separately, would she have gotten one? This is not the first time I have had frustration with them. Not gonna lie, I'm not loyal to any nail salon, I go with who can take me because it's always a same day decision. Unique Boutique was highly rated on our local neighborhood facebook group by a lot of people so I figured what the hey. Called around 9:30 am to ask if they had an appt available before 2:00 pm. The guy gave me two options which I thought was great! Upon entering, I was greeted right away and shown to the nail color selection baskets. I was taken back to the nail station and a little disappointed that I had to sit right next to another customer at the same table. Not covid-related, but I just like personal space and dislike people. The color I initially picked out was unavailable, so I picked another that I ended up loving. First thing is first. I have never been disappointed with how my nails have turned out here. However, I make appointments because I know that they are very busy and always booked. This is my second appointment in a row where I waited for over 20 minutes. I would have had to wait longer but I voiced my discontent. I make appointments also because I am a busy mom of three and am usually squeezing in my self care between pick ups and drop offs. I wish I had 20 mins to spare but I do not! Additionally, if I showed up to my appointment 20 minutes late I am certain I would not have my appointment honored. Very disappointing as I showed up To enjoy an hour or slightly less of a pedi but instead had to have the technician rush and had anxiety the whole Time about if I would make school pick up in time. Literally the worst manicure experience. I went there for the good reviews my experience was very different. no scrub, no lotion, no mini massage nothing, basic is basic ok. Just a cold water soak and nail painting No hand dryer, no uv table, no way to dry nails. They smudged immediately The tech said I have to give him cash tips (who has cash and no I don't like to tip in cash) He said to Venmo him, seriously? I love this place~! I've been here twice so far and I think this will be my to-go nail salon from now on. I cannot find another nail salon that is so detail oriented and patient. Kent (the owner) has done my nails the two times I've been here and he always makes sure everything is clean and perfect. I get the ombré French done from him which includes a powder process. It can last for over two weeks (depending on how much you work with your hands). I can't recommend Unique Boutique enough! I've been wanting to write this review for ages, because this place is truly top notch from start to finish! Years ago my best friend and I went into Unique Boutique just to try them out, and from then on we never left. They are a class act, and my nails and toes are always flawless. In all attached photos, these are my natural nails under SNS, with no tips! I usually go to Kent, the owner, but have had manicures and pedicures from most technicians in the shop and they all do a fantastic job. My mom and best friend are loyal patrons and have always had fantastic service by various technicians. They also always know our names, ask how we are, and when we went for my best friends wedding to get our nails done, we were pampered! They even gave her a gift card as a wedding gift. read more

So disappointed today! I love(d) going to this salon, but very disappointed with how the payment process happened today. I had a $48 pedicure and I handed the cashier a gift card and $40 cash. OBVIOUSLY, the gift card would not cover the service (there was a $15 balance): Rather than clearing the gift card first, he deductd my $40 cash and $8 off the gift card, leaving me with not enough cash for a tip and a $7 balance on the card! Could he give me the $ cash - NOPE! Could he cancel the transaction and do it correctly - NOPE! I didn't want to cheat the person who did my pedicure out of a tip, so I went to the ATM 2 doors down only to be charged a $3 service fee since I don't bank with them. WTF!? I have tried 3 other nail shops in the area but this continues to be my favorite. I've been coming here fairly consistently since I moved to Baltimore 2 years ago. The customer service is always so great, everyone is so friendly and the shop itself is so beautifully decorated and clean. I absolutely love that they do NOT put a gel top coat on top of their dip colors because that makes my nails so brittle and causes the polish to chip easily (a lot of other shops do this). However, it's truly the consistency that brings me back. No matter which nail tech I get, everyone does a great job. I drive all the way from the city JUST to come here and it's completely worth it - I refuse to let anyone else touch my nails at this point lol. read more

With everything going on, cleanliness and safety is definitely very important. Everyone had face masks on, protective shields as well as hand sanitizer were at every station for extra protection. This is my favorite nail salon in all of Perry Hall and Towson. Whenever I'm getting my nails done for a fancy event, I go to a Kent. He's a great nail technician. He's patient, funny, kind, and is so artistic. I usually get gel nails done every two weeks. I think all of Unique Boutique's employees are kind, hard-working, and are good at their job. However, usually go to the nail technician with colorful hair. She's super bubbly and does a really good job; I've never had my gel peel off before two weeks. The bad reviews on here are laughable because they sound like they were written by rude, impatient, entitled, nightmare customers. This salon has an amazing selection of colors for regular, gel and SNS dip nails. I also get my eyebrows done here, by not any particular employee, but they've always turned out great. I used to go to the Benefit Browbar at Ulta but Unique does a better job. My brows have never been waxed too thin or shaped weirdly. Since Unique is such an amazing salon, it does get very busy; but the service is well worth the wait. The salon is also incredibly clean ( no nail polish or acetone smell) and modernly decorated. If you don't check this place out it's your loss. read more

We came here for the reviews. What a terrible experience We had. First our appt was for 10:00 and it was closer to 10:30....ten minutes late I get, 30? That is a whole other appt. No callous remover was used during the pedicure. The towels were not hot and the water is ice cold. After requesting hot water be added....2 seconds of hot water was added to make the water like warm. The dip manicure we received looked unprofessional and was not what I had requested. I showed the lady a picture 3 times of what I wanted she said ok. She pulled out a pink polish, I asked her if it was too pink she said no. I asked for the nail to be rounded, it was made pointed and they were not even. They are overpriced. When asking to tip on card was told no. I could Venmo Or give cash...why would I Venmo a random person? I went back asking to have my nails fixed and the lady who checked me in/out didn't even know who I was or what I just had done AFTER she charged me! read more

Today was my first time visiting this establishment because the nail tech who I normally went to left the salon I frequented. I spent a long time last night reading reviews for nail salons that offer SNS since I didn't know anyone else at the other salon. I ultimately decided on this salon because it had such great reviews. I will say they were accommodating by making me an appointment with a technician when I called this morning. When I first walked in, I noticed that the establishment is very clean and modern looking. The front desk employee was also very welcoming and pleasant. I thought because I experienced all of these things at first, my visit was going to be a good one. However, the nail tech who I dealt with had sort of a "I can't be bothered vibe." She did listen to me when I asked her to please be gentle with my cuticles- she barely removed any at all. Secondly, almost every single nail had a different length. I asked the nail tech repeatedly to shape my nails so that they were all even. I literally gave up after pointing out the third misshaped nail because I felt like crying out of frustration. I literally had nails that were longer, shorter, and filed into an awkward, uneven slants. The SNS job was very average. The application wasn't even at all, as my nails were barely buffed after the application. Every single nail looked different. I am very OCD about my nails and could not stand to look at my nails today. Ultimately, I ended up paying, leaving and returning to my old nail place to get my nails redone. I am very happy with them now, just a bit frustrated that I paid twice today for SNS. If you are looking for a more affordably priced, average place for SNS and aren't peculiar like I am for my nails to look a certain way, give this place a shot. Hence, my just average rating. The other employees seemed nice, but I cannot speak about the quality of their work. I personally will not be returning to find out if there are better nail techs at this spa after my experience today. This place is great! I searched all of Harford County for a DECENT nail salon and was referred to Chi. I have been going here for over a year and the place is clean and everyone friendly. But be advised to make an appointment. Especially if you want Chi or Kent to do your nails. They are always busy (which is a good sign). My boyfriend and I were in the area and I decided to get my nails done and I somehow convinced him to get his first mani! So I searched yelp and found this place..the reviews were pretty good so we gave it a try. The shop was beautiful and clean upon entering. The nail techs were friendly and we walked out happy campers. I got my gel mani April 18th, and barely a week later the polish was already looking crazy and lifting!! Definitely not worth the $35 whatsoever. I wish I knew the lady's name who did my mani to share it with y'all! She could definitely use some help and a bit more training with her polishing technique because gel shouldn't be lifting within just a week :( I hate to give them only 2 stars because they really did take their time with us, but I'm upset I paid $35 for a gel mani and it barely lasted a week. read more

I've been to many different nail salons over the past decade and finally settled down with this new spot. Everyone here is amazing, kind, and welcoming. I've never felt rushed, and the level of service they provide is unparalleled to the other local places. I pay $5 more for perfection. They offer beverages and a long leg/foot massage when you get a pedicure. Chi and Kent are among my favorite techs to go to. It's also in a convenient area. If you walk in and they are on a wait, frozen yogurt, pizza, subs, pasta, beer, or a grocery store are all steps away. Make an appointment because they are amazing! read more

I went to the nail shop a week ago and got a pedicure all employees had on mask and gloves. The facility was extremely clean and they also had hanging clear dividers between every seat. All customers were also required to wear mask. The environment make me feel extremely safe and the pedicure with a cherry on top. This is a really nice place to get your nails done. I usually get the gel nails done by the owner Mai. She is very nice and friendly as are all the girls in this place. The only cons I have are that it takes almost 2 hrs to get my nails done every 3-4 wks because Mai the owner is in such demand. She tries to accompdate all her customers, but I have always had to wait even when I had a appt. Also,prices are a bit more than I have paid at other nail establishments, but for me it is worth it because it is close to home. Much rather spend the $ on me than on gas! read more

I was highly insulted by a nail tech posing as the manager when I complained about an employee accusing me of Using her polish for free when clearly I had no polish on my nails. Additionally, bathroom was disgusting, there was dried blood on cuticle clippers that I had to ask to be switched for a sanitized pair. Poor service, poor attitude, poor work. I have NEVER EVER given ANYONE a poor review; however, this experience disgusted me, literally (a stranger's blood, come on!), to the point where I cannot keep shut! read more
