I made an appointment the day of for my friend and I to get our nails done and I was going to also get a pedi. I noticed when booking that they had just opened up, I was hesitant to go somewhere that didn't have many reviews but decided to give it a shot. We parked at a parking lot not too far and walked over. We were a little confused on the location and ended up going across the street to another nail salon, whoops! We asked that salon if they knew where Aloha nails was located and they didn't know, so we walked outside and it was across the street LOL Anyway, it was really nice inside and well decorated. They have a good variety of polishes. They also offer a school discount which is nice! My mani and pedi turned out great! I was pretty happy with the results and the polish lasted a while. Worst nails I have ever had. My nail tech was nice so I really tried giving her the benefit of doubt but no. There were black fuzzies embedded into my gel nails. And I asked for plain gel French nails because I thought that would be the easiest to not mess up. There were streaks all over my nails from the white nail polish. The base was uneven. My cuticles were not pushed back at all. And I had to ask her to file down a piece of cuticle that was just obviously poking through the gel. There was gel all over my skin. I just moved to Towson and have tried a couple other nail salons which i had bad experiences at. I had such a wonderful time at aloha yesterday! Annie truly is the best I have had dip and acrylics on and off for 4 years and this truly is the best set I've had by far! The attention to detail, cleanliness of the store and lovely friendly staff are the reasons this is my new salon. I called at 530pm and was offered a 630pm spot for a gel manicure. Can't comment on parking - I got a Lyft there. The minute I walked in I was greeted with a smile and it was clear they were expecting me. It smelled and looked so nice in there! Very clean and beautiful coastal vibes. Annie set me up with the polish removal and Jasmine took my polish off and did the rest of the manicure. Jasmine took her time and did an amazing job. Both ladies were so nice. Don't let the few amount of reviews deter you from Aloha. The owner, Annie, has been doing nails for years. Aloha Nails is just a salon she opened on her own recently. So while the shop is fairly new to the area, she's far from new to the business. Annie is so sweet and she remembers EVERYONE. I'd seen her multiple times at the previous salon she'd worked for, but it had been years ago. She immediately told me she recognized me and even mentioned a close friend of mine had just come in a few days prior because she remembered that friend and I would frequent her previous salon together. The last time I was in, she had two girls working for her who were very sweet and made sure to introduce themselves even though they weren't working on my nails. My appointment was right before close but she didn't rush anything, even though that kept her past close. Her clients are definitely her top priority! Don't go here. They're absolutely horrible. They don't answer the phone and when they do, they're rude and they rush you off. It's like they don't want customers or something. And it's only two of them working so they're always booked. Even calling two days ahead they said they were all booked. They need to hire more staff. Despite all this they did such a good job with my nails that I would keep going back. However, my recent experience was the last straw. I tried calling a few times and the last time I called they picked up & hung up. Again, it's like they don't want customers! Very weird, very annoying, won't be going back. Go somewhere else! My appointment was at 2:15. I wasn't seen until 3:15. I 100% should've walked out after waiting more than 30 minutes but I really wanted my nails done for Halloween. The owner was taking her time and very nice to the older woman before me. As soon as she left and I sat down her demeanor changed. After waiting over an hour, Annie decides to go on her phone for about 3 minutes while I sit in silence. I had said over the phone I needed my old acrylics removed before getting new ones on. I also asked about 45 minutes into waiting if it would help to start soaking my nails as I wait and she just kept saying "few more minutes honey". Being rushed, she used a cuticle cutter to cut off my acrylics and separate them for my natural nail. This hurt SO bad and her hands were shaking from how hard it was to pry them off and she lost control of the tool many times stabbing the skin around my nails making me bleed. I was tensing up (of course) and she just kept hitting my hand telling me to relax. she then took a fake nail and tried to slide it in between my acrylic nail and my natural nail to get the rest of it off. This also hurt very badly. She didn't have the time to soak off my nails at that point but she should've as I was waiting. She really should've to begin with. manage your time. She charged $15 for that painful unprofessional removal. She then told me to wash my hands and got mad when she had to get up because I didn't know where the hand towels were. She didn't shape the acrylics as I asked nor would she cut them down. I kept asking politely to cut them down a bit more or fix a certain finger and she always did the bare minimum that i just gave up. She only did 2 coats of my polish so it was see through in some parts. I asked for another coat and she let out the loudest sigh. She got polish on my cuticles and finger and only noticed after i had set them with the light so what does she do? she takes a USED nail file from her drawer and aggressively tries to file the paint off my skin, again making me bleed. Another older woman came in at around 3:30 and Annie was so nice to her. She waited in one of the pedicure chairs for 30 minutes until I was done. The whole experience wasted 2 hours of my life and left me literally scarred. one of my cuts on my cuticles from her filing the polish off was infected and just now after 2 weeks is healed. I have never been treated so poorly or had such unprofessional techniques done to my nails. I'm genuinely scared to get my nails done again and I know for a fact my natural nails are ruined and ungodly thin after her removal. She charged me $75 regardless of the wait time and injuries she inflicted on me. This was the first time in my life I haven't tipped for a service. I can't help but wonder if being so behind and the fact I'm young had anything to do with how i was treated. I shouldn't have put up with ANY of it, but I'm sure she expected me to or wouldn't have done what she did. There's no way in hell she treats her older clients the way she treated me. Classless establishment making sure the stereotype of "teenagers don't tip" sticks. I tip OVER 20% wherever I go unless treated poorly and I still tip even then. I think $75 was more than enough out of my pocket. read more

I had Ruby both times and she makes sure your nails are perfect before you leave. They also provide hot tea, water, and sparking water! They have a million of colors it's so hard to chose from.
