Okay, so story time.. my scheduled opened up and I had 3-hours to spare before a Yelp Elite event. I was already embarassingly overdue for a pedicure so I decided this was the time. I parked for said Yelp event, and searched 'nail salon' generally in Maps, came across this location and walked 0.4miles there. Upon my arrival, I was asked what I wanted to get done, and was seated for about 5-minutes before RoseMi (I believe) seated me in my chair. I turned the massage on and made myself comfortable - adjusting my taller frame from the last client prior. RoseMi filled the bowl and grab me a great pedicure - if we're talking overdue nails getting shaped, cuticles adjusted and repainted. NOW - if we're talking overdue for a foot massage (not shin slapping), and a sugar "scrub" longer than 30 seconds, RoseMi did not deliver. I was honestly look forward to having my feet massaged as again, ya girl was overdue. But anyway - I wanted better conditioned feet and I got that in the presentation sense. Moving on, RoseMi asked me if I wanted anymore services that evening. I responded with a manicure if her schedule permits. I had injured my thumb about a month prior and was hesitant to get work, let alone a thick gel or powder overtop so soon. So RoseMi cleaned my cuticles, cleaned my nails up.. gave a decent cleaning. But this time, I was loved with an overload on polish. At least 6 layers later and 20-minutes under the dryer, I STILL was not set to go. Anyway, for what I originally wanted.. the pedicure, I would give 4 stars. But the manicure, I had to give 3. $78 later, I wanted and deserved a little more.

What an absolute nightmare of an experience! I started out going to a different business which was closed on Tuesday and I wish I had waited. I began with a pedicure for which I was charged 48 bucks and I was disappointed, to put it mildly. Then I had the manicure of nightmares for which I paid 30 bucks and she nicked three of my ten cuticles drawing a serious amount of blood as you'll notice in the pictures. Avoid this place like the plague!

I liked the atmosphere at this nail salon, very clean, peaceful and accommodating. It's easy to get to on the uptown downtown bus line. They have a lot of regulars from the area who appreciate the business model and maybe if i was a regular-it would have been a better experience. Full disclosure, I came here to get my manicure and pedicure, as I was in town for a concert. I usually go around my area, so this was probably my fault for cheating on my nail tech. However, I took issue with the lack of ability to do the designs requested, lack of transparency on the price and the nails chipped within 7 days. As someone who gets gel nails regularly, hey are supposed to last two weeks. I was told at the end that I was up charged for using different colors on each nail for a french tip, which should have been disclosed early-and also doesn't make sense to me-because no more nail polish was used. I also did not like that the designs presented-simple-were not able to be done and i was charged extra for the design I had to settle on-because the techs were not able to do what I requested. so all in all, it's ok. I would probably try another nail salon in the area, as while this was almost 25% more expensive than the same design in NYC-at my nail tech , I don't mind paying when I know that I am getting what I want vs whatever the salon can do. This time, I had to settle for what this salon could do in terms of design. I tipped anyway.

I've been going here since 2016 and their service is the best! The spa's cleanliness, consistency and service is amazing.

Staff were super friendly, attentive, and took their time on our service. They were accommodating to our last minute appointments. The facility was also clean!

I have a great experience every time I go here! I've gotten multiple sets of acrylic nails done by different techs and they always exceed my expectations. Also consistently some of the fastest service at any nail salon. Fast, amazing work, and nice people. Can't ask for any better!!

I really wanted to love this place, I don't. Let me just list the pros and cons here. & let me mention I'm typing w a broken nail 12 hours after visit. Pros - great neighborhood, assessable to the belt way, beautiful environment, very friendly staff members, beautiful nail shades, creative designs, quality polish colors & most importantly... Great Yelp Reviews. Cons - 1 day later I'm still picking gel from under my nails, street metered parking (inexpensive), the hidden fees that are free courtesies everywhere else (Charged $5 for nail fix that was clearly a glue/ powder fix), not being offered a soft drink when the website screams offering of soft drinks, lack of punctuality (I waited 27 minutes after my appointment time to be seen which made me late to anniversary dinner with my husband), rush job throughout pedicure & no suggested selling of callus remover & I know I need callus remover but you can't use it if you only do a pedicure 20 minutes. The gentleman was so rough w the nail tools while removing gel polish that my nail beds were sore. I didn't say anything just hoping he was almost finished. I did appreciate the fact that they completely soak off gel polish and don't use machine. Sooo I went back to have nail fixed mentioned earlier and MiMi took great care of me. She assessed the situation and used powder to seal the slit. Great experience! I walked right in, had this taken care of and left in less than 15 minutes!! Everything happens for a reason because prior to returning for nail fix, I was hell bent on not returning. I now would return and request MiMi or another female for assistance. Ok, ANOTHER nail slit 24 hrs after initial set. This nail was 1 of 2 that I paid to have corrected. I called to inform staff of mishap. They handled it the best way they saw fit and invited me back to the spa for fixture. I explained I'm not returning due to the inconvenience, parking situation and time being taken but wanted to request they educate the gentleman who completed my services so no other customers have the same experience. Now it's 27 hours after initial visit and BOOM, the other nail paid for repair from last night has slit. Nope... don't recommend !!

I'm giving the place two stars because I won't deduce that the entire place needs to be trashed because of one piss-poor nail tech & a lack of response to bad customer service. I went with my sister who is a regular there and she had superb service from her nail tech, so I'm taking that into account as well. But my experience deserves zero stars. My nail tech dropped the ball while doing French tips. She didn't wipe the gel residue well from my nail bed, so when I noticed (while she was putting on the clear coat), I told her. She decides to say that the black streak (clearly polish residue) was my "natural nail color." I told her it was not, so she asked if I wanted it done over. "Yes, of course." She filed down into my nail until the streak disappeared and added one single coat over a big dent in my nail. Next, I moved over to the pedicure chair with her. She never asked if the water temperature was okay. She rushed through my pedicure and finished in seven minutes flat, to the extent that my sister seriously believed that I'd only gotten a polish change. I know the time because I was so shocked, I went to go look at how long back I posted on IG which is when I got in the pedicure chair. She didn't ask me if I wanted gel or regular. She just did it. Okay. It's almost like she had somewhere more important to be. I didn't want to argue, so I didn't say anything. I just decided that I wouldn't tip. When I went up to pay, I told the girl taking the payment that I wasn't tipping because I wasn't satisfied. She didn't even ask why I wasn't satisfied. These people just do not deserve my business.

I have never been disappointed here! Just got these super cute polygel nails done by Jason and he went above and beyond--he even added some glitter to my "fun" nail. Mimi is also amazing, she did my nails last time and I knew I found my place.

they managed to give me a full set of acrylics when my nails were extremely short and they stayed on/didn't break so I went back to get a fill a month later. very easy to make an appointment and I love how my nails look every time !

This has been my favorite nail salon for the past few years. I made an appointment for Saturday in the morning and this was a great way to start my day. I originally made an appointment for a manicure but when I elected to have a pedicure when I arrived, they obliged with no hesitation. I appreciate this given how busy they were! My treatments, done by nail tech Pratikshya, we're very relaxing. I want to commend her especially because I arrived with press-on nails that took an extra 15 minutes to strip off (they were glued on way too strong). She buffed them off and didn't rush the service at all. I really appreciate that they always treat you consistently with respect here. For $80 I had gel manicure, press on removal, & pedicure with polish. A pretty good deal and great service. I'll be back!

I've been going here consistently for a couple of years. Very chill, quiet salon. Appointment-only since the onset of COVID. Jason and Kathy are most experienced, will be able to do more advanced designs, will probably be the ones answering the phones, and may come off a little terse () but I've found that they are genuinely sweet people. I love MiMi's work, she's super courteous. rashmi gives a bomb French pedi with the pink base. Henry gives AMAZING massages during pedis and at the end of hand services. (I always go to him for super long, oval shaped dip on my hands). Britney is new but very creative. I like basic nails in comfortable atmospheres, so I will keep coming back.

Mimi is amazing! I wish I had a picture of a before and after. I have always loved my long nails and got stuck in a bad habit of dip nails that were long. While they were beautiful, I eventually experienced three crack breaks all the way down to the nail bed. Ouch! After multiple fake tips to even out the breaks, I decided to go in and try this place. Mimi advised me on what was best for me in an effort to strengthen and grow out my nails evenly. We are at the beginning of the process with two short nails left but they look so clean and feel so good. She has been there five years and even with a soak off, I was in and out in one hour exactly. I could tell she knew exactly what she was doing and is very precise to make sure they look perfect and that I am happy with them. She immediately spotted that I had gone to an amateur before her somewhere else. Absolutely love the color and her glitter recommendation. Looks so clean and reminds me a little bubbles. Thank you Mimi! I feel happy that I found my local nail expert. She is calm, fast and a pro. See you soon!

How much is a full set acrylic nails with gel?

    It start at 50$

Do you guys take walk-ins? Or do we have to book an appointment?

If you have apointment is good for us. We can take care your nails right away. Because some time we're been busy we can't take any walk in!

Can I get SNS without a gel topcoat? I prefer the traditional SNS topcoat or no topcoat for matte and most salons here are doing uv gel topcoats.

Hi Jesica! We can do both way depend on our clients preferances.

How big of a dip powder selection do they have?

It's quite extensive. They have sample nails dipped on a key ring (about 15 options) then a small pole with sample dipped nails as well (looks to be over 50 options).

Unfortunately, due to the holidays they were low on stock and none were to my liking. But, I noticed they had a bar upstairs. Since I wasn't able to spend time hunting for a hat, I had time for a beer. Typically, I search for breweries, but in this case I opted for a beer. This one did not disappoint me. I am a Guinness fan, but 99% of the pubs stores their kegs next to the others beers. To me that is a no-no. I am not interested in drinking frozen beers which kill my taste buds. But then I heard the owner prefers the drink at a warmer level. Here, they actually store the keg in a different location. The pour allowed me to sip the black stuff within a minutes time after it settled. Wow I'm impressed. As for the place, it is a bit more pricey than the burbs, but not astronomical as some may think. Here is the QR Code if someone wants to check the cost. Thanks for reading.

I would give A-List beauty no stars if I could. I hired them for hair and makeup for my wedding…read more The trial could not have gone worse. It. Was. A. Joke. A lot of these places have you pay a significant amount of money to do a trial (like $500) because it creates a psychological motivation to continue to do business with them (the sunk cost fallacy). Ladies do not be victim to this- even if you paid $500 and the trial goes poorly, do not give them more money! I paid the non refundable deposit to Ariel Lewis, and gladly paid another company $1,500 just to not look (and more importantly FEEL) like I did after my trial with A-List. The other company was professional, kind, used actual beauty products (see below), let me watch what they were doing, and were friendly. Find a company that works with you for your big day. Not works you for the paycheck. Hopefully this will save you the $500 trial with A-List: Let's start with hair. The biggest red flag was that she wouldn't let me watch while she was doing my hair so that I could be "surprised" - I was surprised all right. She admitted to me she had not looked at the inspo pics they asked me to send in, and asked to see them. She looked at the first one and said "K I got it." She didn't have it, because what was created was a departure from my looks. It wasn't a terrible style if it had been done well. I mentioned concern about the longevity of the look day of, and she said confidently it would last even though I could feel the pins slipping. I said repeatedly my hair texture is fine and doesn't hold curl. She said "Not the way I curl" and then put wax in it to "help." Everyone with fine hair knows wax weighs it down. It did not last. Not even through 90 min minutes of sitting still and getting makeup done (much less a whole wedding...). My trial was done at 11:30am and by 1:30pm my hair had fallen out of the bun into the two sad looped pony tails she had used to create the look, and was in straight tendrils around my face. Not a curl in sight. Even the initial finished looked was frizzy and you could obviously see pins. The best part was that the A-List makeup trial was after hair and she came in and asked "what time my hair trial was?" hahah. "Oh you couldn't tell it just happened? Your teammate just gave me an updo, obviously!" Lol Next was makeup. Ladies. They used E.L.F products. Correct- the products you buy for your nieces and occasionally find at the dollar store. I get it, this isn't the main event, it's just the trial so maybe they use different products day of? If so, that negates the purpose of the trial... I want to have my shades matched and confirmed which is part of the trial one would think. I paid for airbrush makeup- she did zero prep the skin. She pulled the machine out and started spraying- didn't even pin my face framing hair pieces back so there was a distinct line not blended around my face where my hair had been. The airbrush went on cakey and flakey and actually aged me about 10 years. It's not for every skin type so that's part of it, but at least try and prep the skin. I sent Hailey Bieber natural dewey inspo and she did old church lady rosy pink cheeks I am not kidding. Bright. Pink. And round. I looked like a toy soldier, even after I asked her to keep blending. The whole thing was a joke. It also didn't last despite paying for airbrush- which I was grateful for because I would not have gone out looking like that. When I reached out to Ariel Lewis to tell them I would not be using them for my wedding and talk about how disappointed I was, I was intercepted by an admin. Interestingly, I didn't ask for a refund but the very first thing the admin said when I said I wouldn't be moving forward was that I wouldn't get a refund. This exchange told me a lot about how they do business and their priorities. I asked to speak to Ariel to provide feedback. I never heard from her. Guess it's on me to keep reaching out? I was then told I could do the trial again with the same artists. Nah I'm good... If it were my business with my name on it- I would be embarrassed by this. Pics below of hair. I didn't want my face out there on the internet so I didn't post makeup. So- ladies, save yourself the money with A-List. Unless you want a good laugh- My Maid of Honor was there and we still get out the "after" pictures so we can have a good chuckle over wine. I hope this saves another bride the stress and money I wasted on the A-List.

Very POOR Customer Service. Extremely POOR communication. Why does a company refuse to list itself…read moreon Google? So they can avoid all the negative reviews. So it's not a surprise that A-List has no Google listing and minimal reviews available... do the math. It doesn't add up to a reliable and professionally behaving company.
