This is a pleasing review. I stopped in looking for a hat. I work close by and have been told they have a few to choose from. Unfortunately, due to the holidays they were low on stock and none were to my liking. But, I noticed they had a bar upstairs. Since I wasn't able to spend time hunting for a hat, I had time for a beer. Typically, I search for breweries, but in this case I opted for a beer. This one did not disappoint me. I am a Guinness fan, but 99% of the pubs stores their kegs next to the others beers. To me that is a no-no. I am not interested in drinking frozen beers which kill my taste buds. But then I heard the owner prefers the drink at a warmer level. Here, they actually store the keg in a different location. The pour allowed me to sip the black stuff within a minutes time after it settled. Wow I'm impressed. As for the place, it is a bit more pricey than the burbs, but not astronomical as some may think. I travel full-time for work and visit a new barber in nearly every city I visit. In the last year, I have been to 20 different barbers across 15 different states. Some are better than others, but what they all have in common is COURTESY and INTEGRITY. All the rave reviews for this barbershop led me to believe I would be getting an elevated barber experience. It was anything but. I've never been treated as carelessly and disrespectfully as I was by Michael S. From check in to check out, he barely spoke to me, beyond a cursory "how are you," which was the last hospitality I was shown for the next 30 minutes. When I told him what I wanted- a clean skin fade on the sides with length off the top- he scoffed at me, which immediately put me on edge. He didn't offer any suggestions or solutions, but told me that I barely had "enough hair" for that. I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt, and he started cutting. After 20 minutes of silence, he showed me the mirror. I asked him to clean up some things and he rolled his eyes- I was clearly bothering him. Apparently he knows my hair better than I do, but again, he didn't offer any solutions, just silence. I then had to ask him to clean something up AGAIN, to which he once more scoffed. Sure, he might have done what I asked- but he acted as though I was an annoying friend asking him for a favor, and treated me as a nuisance rather than a paying customer. He treated me roughly and actually cut my temple with his razor. He was kind enough to wipe my neck with a wet towel before sending me on my way, without bothering to brush off any of the hair on my face. My haircut is uneven and I will have to find another barber to fix it, as I will not be returning here. The experience was overall unsatisfactory and unsafe. read more

I visited the QG for the first time 11 years ago. I have had my hair cut at many places, but I've never been so consistently pleased with my haircut at any other establishment. The barbers at the QG are extremely professional and make sure they know how you want your hair to look. Now when I go, they can pull how they did up my last haircut using their software so I don't even need to remember. The establishment is catered to men, with a billiards table in the waiting room and a free refreshment when you enter. My experience with all of the barbers there has been positive, most are very friendly but if you don't feel like talking they will be respectful of that as well. The staff at checkout use a card on file and validate parking to make the experience smooth and comfortable. Though all of the barbers are very skilled, Dermaine is my favorite. Dermaine is a clothing designer that previously worked in the tailor shop. "You can only cut a piece of cloth once," Dermaine says of his tailoring experience. He takes that same meticulous approach to cutting hair. Every time I visit Dermaine asks if I am growing a beard, and though I say no (I'm just lazy about shaving), he has always framed my sideburns and blended them into my beard. Two months ago he encouraged to let the beard grow and I never expected it would look so good. He recommended a beard balm and gave me so many compliments that I really feel confident for the first time while growing out facial hair. My mom, who lives in TN, was flying in to visit me and she wears her hair super short - like, goes-to-a-barber short. She was unable to secure a haircut before her visit and she asked me to find someone to cut her hair. I scheduled an appointment at The QG on a recommendation from a friend, about a week in advance. I received multiple texts and emails confirming the appointment over the next few days. We arrived 30 mins early, but they checked us (her) in, and directed us to the bar/restaurant on the top floor. We hung out there until the bartender informed her she could go get her hair cut. I continued hanging out there another 15 or so minutes before going to check in on her. I popped in right when Brendan was finishing up. Long story short, my mom was super pleased with her cut and just from how Brendan spoke to her, I could tell he was a nice person. She seemed really comfortable. I've been to The QG before for various reasons. This place is classy, immaculate, and I can see why all the boys wanna manscape there, lol. Plus, they were nice to my mom. Not sure I'll have a reason to return but if I do, I know it'll be a good visit. read more

Went to the QG for a 75 minute massage with Tee and it did not disappoint! From being greeted when checking in until I left, it was a positive experience. These people took thousands of dollars and three months to screw up every part of the custom suit order me and my soon-to-be-husband put in for our wedding suits, and I am now days away from my wedding with nothing to wear. One suit was ordered in the wrong fabric, another simply is not going to arrive before the wedding (and will also be in the wrong fabric). Throughout we have tried to be in touch, ask why things are delayed by weeks, and were given reassurance after reassurance that we would be fine and that Ronald was "micromanaging" the order. Because of the fine work of the QG, I am now three days from my wedding and need to go to the mall to buy a suit to wear. I cannot put into words how miserable and upsetting this is. These suits were a part of the wedding both of us were incredibly excited about, and given every opportunity not to, they have completely ruined it. Getting custom suits made at the QG has been by far the worst mistake I made in our wedding planning process, and I can only beg people not to work with this unreliable business. read more

I have been a big fan of The QG for years - always enjoying the energy, service, and selections available at this throwback establishment. So, as restrictions are easing, I wanted to go down and support these hardworking people trying to make it through extremely challenging times that are far from over. So earlier this week, I stopped in and started with a bite, brew, and good conversation at Clock Bar. I went with a local Checkerspot IPA, an order of perfectly fried wings (tossed in their homemade spicy BBQ sauce - not on the menu but ON POINT), and some deviled eggs. Each hit the spot and fueled me up for a little retail therapy. I completed my trip in their clothing store - where I found some solid goodies for my father for his upcoming birthday - as well as a sweet pair of pants for myself. The service was wonderful and they have some great sales happening right now to get them to other side of this pandemic. As a sign of the times, I also picked up a QG PPP mask, and look forward to marketing this fine establishment as I do my part to keep us all healthy. THE BEST DAY OF ACTIVITY FOR GROOMSMEN! The QG took all of the stress out the morning. We were there from 9:30 to 12 and had breakfast, a full bar, and access to the members lounge. I signed all the guys up for 30 minute appointments with the barber and everyone left feeling refreshed and looking their best. All the service was great and Rusty made it easy to coordinate. I very rarely leave reviews, but the service I received at The QG was above and beyond. To start: It was, without a doubt, one of the coolest shops I've stepped into. I was able to find a nice pair of shoes (on clearance!) and a nice bottle of Proraso aftershave (my favorite brand!). But in my exploration of the shop, I forgot my credit card behind. I had assumed it was lost. But the next day, Ronald from the menswear shop gave me a call and let me know he found the card, made sure I locked it and sent it to me - free of charge.
