He was meticulous, respectful, took his time, and really listened to my husband's concerns (especially with regard to beard trimming). My husband received the royal treatment, never before having the experience of a full service grooming (with the warm towel and old school barber razor). I told them that I would reschedule to the next day but they said they would charge my credit card anyway. Honestly, their services aren't even that great and not worth the money. These people are scammers, and their "policies" about charging your credit card if you don't show up is completely unethical. No other barbershop I know have ever done this. My family used to own a hair salon and I've never imagined an experience as bad as this was possible. Seriously, if you aren't the type of guy to just buzz everything off, go somewhere else. If I could give zero or negative stars, I would. I just got a haircut at the QG and my wife came with me. I had let my hair go during the pandemic and it was overgrown to about my shoulder and in a ponytail. I went in to have it cut back to normal. My wife showed the stylist a picture (of me!) that clearly showed the length of the hair somewhere around my chin. The stylist said that was she could do that. As soon as she starts cutting, she easily takes off a foot of hair. I don't even have enough hair to run my fingers through at the moment. Normally I would say something, but I was so mad that I couldn't even see straight. I had to just pay and leave. If I thought seeking damages were possible, I would. At the rate hair grows, it will take me years to undo the damage that was done today. I have never been more dissatisfied with pretty much any service, anywhere, in my life. read more

As I'm new to the city of Baltimore, and will be here for the duration of the summer, I needed a good barber to rely on for my grooming needs. After checking out my different options, I found this place. I liked their presentation, and decided to give them a shot. I called last Sunday, while I was running errands and hoping to squeeze in time for a haircut. They had no appointments for that day, but they scheduled me for Monday afternoon. Fast forward to Monday afternoon... I show up to QG after braving downtown Baltimore traffic. I check in at the lobby of the building, and was unpleasantly surprised to find that they did not put me in the system. I told them that I called the day prior, and that they set me up to come in for an executive pedicure (yes, I'm metro and proud) and a haircut. After going through the schedule thoroughly, and not finding me there, they made time to see me anyway. I first went up to the second floor, where Sam gave me a haircut. He did a fast cleanup on me. He handled the straight razor well, and I left with no cuts nor razor burn. Next, Shanta took me to another floor and gave me the executive pedicure. This pedicure is for men, and includes nail care as well as a lower leg massage with scented oil. I needed a haircut, bad. But I was frankly a little apprehensive because I just moved into town and did not have a haircutter. I had been going to the same haircutter for the last five years. A few classmates had recommended The QG, and I liked its proximity to my home. I booked an appointment with Nicole, and was seen within five minutes of my set appointment time. Friendly, professional and thorough, she gave me an even haircut exactly as I asked, and finished with a straight blade shave around the ends. That was a nice touch I never before experienced. The shop is multiple floors and has the feel of an old-fashioned lounge. Pool table in the lounge, water and coffee while you wait, and altogether a clean and friendly atmosphere, where judging by the friendly conversation, the stylists and barbers really enjoy being here. $30 is about what I pay for my haircuts in New York, but i am happy to do the same here. My man crush Monday comes here for a haircut every 3 weeks and loves it. I haven't cut my hair in over a year, so obviously homeboy is serious about his beauty regimen. He always looks super fly with a fresh cut, and he says he gets all the perks like a hot towel, straight razor on the neck, and nice product. Today was my turn though. Today they were piloting their women's salon services with $10 manicures and $20 shellac manicures! They're opening a women's salon on one of their 6 floors, and they figured this was a great way to advertise. I got a very high quality shellac manicure from an amazingggg aesthetician, who was super friendly. The room we were in had a cozy (fake) fireplace and CNN was playing on the flat screen which was a nice change of pace. The products used were all top of the line and it was very intimate and relaxed. On top of all that I got a free beer as a regular customer and a special St. Paddy's Day cocktail (midori and champagne) included with my mani. I've been coming here for the last few months since moving to Baltimore from Portland, Oregon. In the past I've used Brendan as my stylist and he's done a pretty good job --- not to mention a nice and professional guy. Well today I received the worst beard trim and work ever in my 5 years of having a long beard --- by Salvatore. For starters, I booked the appointment as a Buzz Cut and Beard Trim --- since I only wanted the sides of my head shaved, since I am going to grow out my top part. He immediately tells me that if he has to do any fading than its no longer a buzz cut, but an actual haircut. Weird to me since I'm basically getting a high and tight with only 1 clipper size on the side and I would assume fading comes standard in any "buzz cut." In my interpretation, a buzz cut means not using any scissors (hence, buzz cut). I told him it was fine to change the price or cut to meet standards, but already now first impressions is not starting out positive. I then show him a picture, attached, of how I want my 3 inch long beard to be trimmed up as. He very quickly glanced at the picture and goes "ok". From the attached picture, I feel that he nowhere near effectively trimmed up my beard. Stray hairs still all over the chin area and he brought the jawline down so far to the bottom of my face. I went back into the office with everyone saying that I looked like a goat. At the end of this quick, rushed and quiet 30 minute session, I walked out spending almost $50.00 and had to go home and shave off my beard of 5 years --- which was a sad experience. I also received none of the amenities that I thought came with my treatment -- i.e. Hot Towel on face, etc... I am incredibly disappointed in my experience today at QG and at this point cannot recommend them. First time in awhile I wasn't nicked during a shave. She also helped recommend a new look for me, that, not only did I like, but my wife did too. They've expanded to add more than just barber services. They offer you a complimentary beer (or other beverage) upon checking in. They have a nice waiting area with comfortable chairs and a pool table. They've also added clothing and a cigar room. As well as having a professional tailor on site.
