The Hair Den was our last stop! They took us in and treated us like family the vide was amazing. They put cartoons on for my kids and let me tell you... MY TWO blonde hair blue eye boys GOT THE BEST HAIRCUT EVER! we have been trying different places and kids haircut specialists cause everyone keeps messing it up cutting it uneven. That's ok, but his customer service and attitude just suck. At first, I thought it was an act and was amusing, but it was not an act, and it was not funny at all. His macho, bro-like attitude, permeates everything that is said in the shop. As a liberal gay man, I felt like I was in a time, warp and taken back into the Reagan-era 80s. The constant misogynist jokes and racial innuendos were really hard to take. He berated nearly every African-American political leader with the implicit suggestion that it was because of their race. Everything culminated one day when a guy came into get a haircut for his wedding. The owner gave some unsolicited marriage advice to him. His advice was that the customer needed to start the marital relationship by showing his wife who the boss was and by giving her a good beating. Yes, you read that correctly! Whether this was a joke or not, I was appalled and have never returned. I'll never spend another dime in the shop and regret that I didn't tell the owner how I felt.

The facility is very welcoming of all people and does not make anyone feel unwelcome or secluded based off of your race, sexual orientation, gender, etc. all the barbers are very well trained and are not cosmetologist that think they know how to cut hair. They're barbers! Prices vary depending on what services you want, but a normal haircut is $40. It's definitely worth it. If you have to wait, there's drinks, games, and a giant flat screen tv with cable. However, if you just make an appointment , the barbers are all professional and honor your time. My hair stylist/barber is one I've had cutting my hair since I moved to the NCR in 2005. However, now that I live in Baltimore, the trek to her shop can sometimes be far. So I've been trying to find somebody in Baltimore to cut my hair in the meantime or when I don't feel like making the drive. Cut to the good barbershop. ...see what I did there! Ha! I saw their shop and sent a message to see if any of them cut women's hair. They replied that if I was going for a short cut almost anybody could cut my hair. So I made an appointment. My appointment was with Darren. Darren took his time by asking me specific questions regarding how low I wanted my hair, the sides, what kind of edging I wanted, etc. I was nervous. I'm not going to lie! I'm used to my hair stylist, washing my hair and then cutting it and I've been going to her for so long. She knows my hair, my style, etc. So I answered all of Darren's questions and chimed in when I wanted something done and he obliged. I use gel in my hair so after every haircut I normally go home, add gel, to see how it looks. You should have seen the smile on my face when I got home, washed my hair, and saw that it was a really good cut! Yes! Finally! So, I'll be back.
