This place was a random search but I'm so happy I happened upon it! Amazing service and warm hearted workers, my new go to!

Had the best experience here with Fatima! I mean, can you really beat having a glass of wine with your highlights? www.chasing-chelsea.com

Before and after of Susan Vasko's beautiful work, after my new baby kept me away from the salon for waaay too long. WOW!

Susan Vasko has been my stylist for more than 10 years. Seriously! She has taken me from light to dark and back again, all with expert ease. My highlights and balayage always look beautiful and natural, and her cuts and blowouts help my curly, thick hair look polished and pretty. Can't recommend her enough. The salon itself is gorgeous and modern, there's plenty of free parking, prices are in line with other salons in the area, and they are open on Sundays. What more could you ask for?!

This is not worth $318 + tip. Literally only half of my head has highlights. I paid for full highlights and got partial.

I had my second session of highlights and I feel obliged to say, I am pretty disappointed (I waited a little over a week to write this review to see if my thoughts would change on my session...it did not). With the first session, I was excited because I felt everything went well. I did notice that there was a nice chunk of my natural hair (I have jet black hair) that was left alone, but I figured that with the second session it would be taken care of. For my first session, I paid $163 excluding tip. Note: I did not pay extra for a blow out because I have pretty thick hair and after sitting in a chair for a few hours, I just wanted to go home. I also asked to have my roots addressed (I have quite a few grey hairs) and was told that the highlights would cover them. After my hair dried, I noticed that the grays were still there. I shrugged it off and decided to wait until my next session to ask to have these bad boys covered again. Here's how my 5-star-review went down to 2 stars: With the second session, I was thrilled to be working with the same stylist. Everything seemed to be going well and when she dried out the first bit of hair framing my face, I was like "YES!" Again, I did not have my hair completely blown out because of how thick it is and I was exhausted, so I did not see everything until I went home. What bothered me (and still bothers me) is how much this session ended up costing: $318 excluding tip. When I went home and double checked the receipt from the first session, I sent an email to the salon kindly asking the cause of the huge jump in price. Their response: my stylist added additional highlights to the bottoms of my hair and added a treatment (I assume Olaplex). However, I fail to see how this would cause an increase of $155. I waited for my hair to dry, though, and noticed that my grey hairs were still there and that chunk of natural hair was still left untouched. If all of my hair looked like the first bit of hair framing my face, I wouldn't have been so upset. I also kind of feel like I was taken advantage of because I disclosed that this would be the last appointment before I relocated. Because it has been past 7 days, I unfortunately can't have this corrected before I leave. TL;DR Get a quote before you allow your stylist touch your hair. You might go from $163 to $318 for full highlights that aren't actually "full" highlights. :(

Omg I cannot love this place anymore! Everyone was so Friendly from when I walked in to when I left! I was recommended by Judy and Rachael did my hair. I'm so in love with how my hair turned out and the customer service from Rachael! I feel like I've known her my whole life and truly makes me want to go get coffee with her haha! It was so clean and bright inside, Rachael listened to what I wanted and delivered such amazing results! I honestly cannot wait to go back! Thank you again to Rachael for the amazing look & making me feel so welcome!!

For the best color, cut, style- make an appointment with Nicole now! She's the only person I've trusted for the last four years.

Hair: NICOLE! Hands down. After experiencing a few mishaps when I first moved to Baltimore, I am so happy the universe brought me to Nicole as she is the only person I trust with my hair. I've had my hair cut, styled, colored- long hair, short hair- and I always look forward to my appointment. Nicole listens and understands the look you're going for and is able to recreate it beautifully! Highly recommend! Esthetician: I've had problem skin my whole life and was completely taken care of by Ronni! I had the oxygenating facial and not only do I feel radiant, but my skin looks healthy, and full of life.. something consistent acne meds steals from you! I barely felt the extractions and truly almost fell asleep on the table- some of us who have had painful facials know this is not a thing. Ronni is exceptionally knowledgeable on skin care, products, and tangible steps you can take in the care of your skin. I booked my next facial right after and cannot wait to see her again in December! HIGHLY recommend!

    Amazing job by Charlene.

I am not a person who goes and gets their nails done. I work with my hands and they're constantly in water and getting roughed up so I don't see the point. But my birthday is coming up and I wanted to treat myself. My boyfriend almost took me to a place that had horrible yelp reviews so I looked for a different salon because I was apprehensive. I saw this place was close to the questionable one so I called to see if they could squeeze me in. The front desk staff were really friendly and said they'd be able to fit me in in a couple of minutes. The whole salon is clean and everyone there was super nice and friendly. But the real star of the show was Charlene. As I said I don't like getting my nails done. I've had a lot of bad experiences and it makes me leery. She was amazing. She was patient with my color selection and didn't hurt me even once. My nails look fabulous and she told me how to keep them up. I'll be going back to her again and again. I even trust her to do my pedicure which typically scares the pants off of me. Do yourself a favor and go see her

The staff…read moreare kind and helpful and they were celebratory when they found out we had just gotten engaged at the hotel. My attendant was awesome and I felt very welcomed. My favorite part is the vitality pool, heated stone chairs, sauna, and lounge. It was great to relax with those amenities. Everything was extremely clean. The vitality pool/sauna area is separated by gender and clothing optional. However, phones are allowed, and while it is fine to have one in a robe pocket, phones should not be out when others are around, especially in an area like that. But that is allowed, so be wary. Our massages were fine, but nothing we would rush back to or pay for again. I'd want to try a body scrub or wrap, my typical spa service. I'd also love to visit in warmer weather and use the outdoor pool. I am very much looking forward to returning.

He doesn't know anything about spas or pricing, so he called over to the four seasons. All they had available was a 20 min hydrofacial (bc it's a busy day, duh). The issue is that they charged THREE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FIVE DOLLARS (yes, you read that right - $375) for a 20-MINUTE hydrofacial. Aka someone rubbed lotion on my face for 13 minutes. when I inquired about this very exorbitant bill, they said - this was the price agreed upon via email, according to our dynamic pricing. (In a very rude, snide tone, with a fake smile). I called my husband who said - yes, I agreed to that, but I was told you would have access to very nice amenities for several hours. LOL! Very nice? Yes, I know the four seasons name SHOULD have very nice amenities. This locker room was so small and so crowded that I couldn't even walk 1 step without bumping into someone. The person giving us a tour kept apologizing for how messy it was ("sorry, it's a really busy weekend for us") - no towels out, etc. there is a small hot tub - sorry, that's not exactly novel. There are two lounging areas. One with three chairs that look out onto... nothing, just a window with frosted glass that you can't see through. Six lounging chairs, and one small table outside that does have a nice view. (This is the only view in the entire spa). They have a small sauna room also. Nothing out of the ordinary, and not up to expectations for what is supposed to be a four seasons spa. On top of that, every single person in that spa was sitting/lying scrolling on their phones. In what world are phones allowed in a spa, let alone in a "clothing optional" hot tub room??! So I paid four hundred dollars for 13 mins of a facial massage (which WAS nice) and then sat outside at a random table for an hour. left quickly because there wasn't anything else to do to kill time. I just cannot believe that a place can charge that much for a service. Totally inappropriate, waste of money, do not recommend.

Rooms are well-appointed and spacious. Bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was perfect. There was a crayon on the floor, which gave me pause on the cleanliness, though other than that, the room seemed very clean. There is plenty of storage, but I can always appreciate more hooks. We utilized the spa, which was awesome, and appreciated the in-room dining. Our in-room dining server was extremely friendly and funny, which was nice, though our breakfast order was extremely delayed. At least it was good, which is more than I can say for the hotel's other offerings. The hotel restaurants, while elegant with fairly good service, provided food and libations that were mid, if I'm being generous. This was a celebratory stay, and nothing ruins that more than inferior food, which we experienced. Valets were friendly and funny, though they forgot to extend our parking, so we ended up with a ticket (which was adjudicated, but still, not something you expect from the Four Seasons). Overall, I do think this is an excellent hotel and I am definitely looking forward to returning, though I will absolutely be dining and drinking elsewhere.

I don't want to go here just for 1 season, I want to go here for Four Seasons!…read more My friend got me a gift card to the Four Seasons for my birthday to use for the amenities- spa, pool, etc. Instead of just using a day pass, I decided to optimize the gift card and do a solo staycation for an early birthday present to myself! I decided to go the weekend right before the pool closed. Yes I procrastinated a lot since I went in September, but luckily the weather was beyond beautiful! It wasn't too hot and it wasn't too cold! Because of this they extended the pool for one more week, but I'm glad I got to go when I did! I got into Baltimore a little earlier than check-in (2pm) and was hoping for early check-in. While my original room was ready, I had asked for an upgrade and they were able to accommodate me to a room with a balcony completely complimentary! I wish I remembered the concierges' name who helped me, but he was such a kind, sweet man! Honestly all the staff was so sweet, kind and hospitable! Since I got a room upgrade, I had to wait until 4pm. And what other way to wait besides sitting by the pool! They let me keep my luggage by the front desk until my room was ready. So I changed really quickly and made my way to the pool. I was able to get a chair right in front of the pool to be able to soak in the sun. I ordered the - Fed hill fling - 5/5 this cocktail was so yummy! I could just down it, but I decided not to drink too much before my massage! The cocktail names are so cute especially since I lived in Baltimore as well! I had a massage scheduled at 5:30pm and the only downside was that they didn't inform me that was room was ready. I had to check in around 4pm with the hostess at the pool. Luckily I was able to quickly go upstairs, change, and head my way back down to the spa to be able to enjoy the spa for a bit before my massage! My masseuse was thoroughly knowledgeable about everything! She respected what I wanted to get massaged and what I opted out for. The experience was truly relaxing and I was so bummed I didn't have a lot of time to experience the spa. But I wasn't too worried since the spa is open year round, unlike the pool. I made my way back to the pool for the perfect golden hour sunset! This time I was by the hot tub and I seriously did not want to get out! I ordered 2 of the same drinks- The blossom spritz 4/5- I'm coming to realize I'm not really a spritz girl, but it was seriously the perfect night cap. I headed back to my room and decided to order room service instead of heading downstairs to Maximon. I got- Caesar salad 5/5 - this was probably the best dish I ordered Fries 4/5 - your typical fries Mac n cheese 2/5 - I ordered from the kids' menu because I have a small appetite, but I'm not sure if this was Mac n cheese or just buttered noodles. There was no cheese! I also ordered room service for breakfast- Just egg scramble 3/5 - it was okay.. I suggested to add cheese, but I guess they forgot. And I'm not sure why she added a grilled tomato, but it was actually good! Iced coffee 5/5 - okay yeah this coffee hit the spot after the amount of cocktails I had and I definitely needed a jolt so I could survive the day! I really liked that they had all the amenities you need at the pool- cucumber water, umbrellas, sunscreen, etc. Although the sunscreen did leave a white cast on my skin. Overall my experience at the Four Seasons was truly unforgettable that I'm already thinking about visiting again! If it wasn't for my gift card, I probably wouldn't have gone, but I'm so happy I did! Not to mention, Adam Sandler was also staying there and I was able to get a glimpse of him when he walked by the pool!

Unsurprisingly, most of the negative reviews are from people trying to deal with their gift certificates or gift cards since they are not able to provide reasonable service to people unfamiliar with their procedures. Throughout the process, I had to chase the owner, Gary, repeatedly over text and phone in order to get any information. A list of things I wish I knew before attempting to use a gift certificate here: I was alone in the building, not just the room, with an unknown man. Zen and the City is a therapist-owned establishment that has appointment-only booking for services. In light of this description, I probably should have known that I would be alone with my massage therapist. Except the website contains none of that information, which I only learned about after the appointment, so I was blindsided. My massage therapist was a very nice man who did his best to make me feel welcome and taken care of (Thank you, Anthony. You were the only good part of this whole experience!), but it was hard to set aside how uncomfortable it was to be alone with a strange man without knowing before that no one else would be there. The gift certificates (physical) and gift cards (e-cards) are redeemed in different ways. The website doesn't make it clear (either in the description or during the purchase) that physical gift certificates are only redeemable for a specific service, and that the gift certificates and gift cards are considered two different products. When I got the certificate for Zen and the City, neither my father (who bought this as a gift) nor I knew there was a difference between the two until after I had my appointment and was told otherwise. If you redeem the service-specific gift certificate for the wrong service by mistake, Zen and the City will not inform you of the mistake when you book your appointment and will instead pocket the remaining money without further services or refund, even after their error is pointed out to them. I suspect they would have prevented me from redeeming the gift certificate for something that was MORE money than the one I used, but when I accidentally used it from something that cost LESS, I was only told afterwards when I couldn't fix my mistake, or receive a refund for the balance. The initial confirmation text message is meaningless. It doesn't accurately reflect that an appointment's successfully been made (because you get a text regardless), and it does not result in you being correctly signed up to receive text messages. Instead, they will contact you by email, no matter your indicated preference (which they don't know anyway because they never ask for your preference). If there is a problem with your email address, they will not use your phone number to follow up. There will be no further attempt to contact you. I'll be honest and admit that I made quite a few mistakes in attempting to deal with Zen and the City, and I accept the responsibility of those mistakes. However, I think it's important for future potential customers to know beforehand that this is the kind of business that is happy to take advantage of your confusion, your mistakes, or your unexpected illness (check out their sick policy). It's up to you whether you want to risk giving this place your money and time.
