Top notch every time!! I've been seeing Jamie for a while for haircuts. She's fun, engaging, and of course highly skilled. I need to leave this review because I came here as a new client with high hopes but was incredibly disappointed by the stylist. I came 15mins before for a consultation and we discussed thoroughly what I wanted. I wanted a dramatic v shape cut in the back and curtain bangs. What I was left with was a blunt cut that was not v shaped in the slightest. This should not be that difficult for a licensed stylist. I have been going to Cara at Image Is... for a year and a half. I first went in because I had destroyed my hair with an at home attempt at a soap cap followed by dying my hair purple. Cara had her work cut out for her, to say the least. She transformed my jet black and blue streaked hair with bright red roots into a shiny and perfect dark plum color. I kept this for about six months and decided to get a little crazy and do a red to blonde ombre. This took a lot of work, planning, and time but I wouldn't have trusted or thought anyone could do it besides Cara. Everyone that works here is nice and they try to make you as comfortable as possible and if anything goes wrong they are willing to do whatever they can to make you happy. One time I went in for an appointment and someone had not added me into the computer even though I had made the appointment through email. They gave me a huge discount and worked it in so that I could see another person that day. When I was not fully satisfied with the result, Cara met me on her day off at the salon and fixed it for me free of charge. Also some of the shampoo girls deserve a medal for their head massages! I 150% recommend going to see Cara for your hair needs. She is amazing! Make sure you book in advance though because her schedule is tight since her clients love her (me included). read more

I got my eyebrows done here a couple months ago and wasn't the biggest fan initially, but I came back for a haircut because the reviews on Yelp were great and I'm glad I did! For eyebrows, the woman who was going to do my eyebrows was running late in her appointment so someone else did them instead. Maybe that's why they didn't turn out super amazing but they weren't terrible, I just don't think they were worth $15. I've gotten better brows for $9. I want to add I have no problem paying more, especially because I know this is a nice place. I got my appointment after reading reviews on Yelp and reached out on Yelp after I couldn't access appointments on the website. Michele replied within three hours (very quick), set up my appointment, and explained and fixed the scheduling block on my account. Image Is... Salon called me before my appointment to let me know they were running 15 minutes late and asked if I was okay with coming in at 4:15 instead of 4. I appreciated that because I wouldn't have minded getting there and waiting 15 minutes, but it was nice of them to give me a heads up :) I got a haircut with Chelsey and I had a wonderful experience! She made me feel comfortable, asked exactly what I wanted to do to my hair, and made great suggestions for my haircut, which I took. I love the cut she did and it looks SO much healthier and has so much bounce. I will definitely be coming back. Chelsey went above and beyond in taking care of me and my hair, especially with the new client package. I usually sit in awkward silence while they cut my hair, but Chelsey and I had a great conversation. Thanks Chelsey! This place was very clean and neat, and everyone I talked to was professional and made me feel welcome. They offered me water as well and as many refills as I wanted. I had an appointment on Saturday with Ashleigh and am just in love with her and this salon! Coming from me that means a lot.... I am someone who hasn't been to a salon in about 10 years because I have never had 1 single haircut that I even remotely liked. I wanted to make a change and it was a drastic one. I had uncolored hair that went down to about the top of my butt and it's never been much shorter than that and hasn't been dyed in years. From the minute I met Ashleigh at the consultation about a month ago I felt comfortable putting my trust in her and taking the plunge. I now have shoulder length hair that has a beautiful brown base with blonde balayage and I couldn't be happier with both the cut and the color - she did a fantastic job and I've already gotten so many compliments. It was very easy to schedule an appointment and everyone at the salon was super nice. They are offer many other services and pretty much do it all including facials and mani/pedis which I definitely plan to go back for. During my visit I received a new client package which included details on their rewards program and some coupons which was a nice surprise! I went to this salon for the first time yesterday and walked out looking like a hair model!! First of all I'm a licensed cosmetologist and have worked in 2 salons so I know a bit about how things should be.. When I first walked in I was immediately greeted by 2 receptionists who were friendly and welcoming. I sat in the small lobby area that is separated by a wall from the rest of the salon. My stylist Ashleigh greeted me and took me to her chair to which I discovered the part behind the wall is huge! They have semi private stations that double up and there is an adorable walkway to the back. It felt like I'm in a cozy house or a set up in IKEA. I knew nothing about my stylist and was only recommended to her by the owner. She was very kind and attentive. We talked for a good while until I was sure she understand exactly what I wanted (along with pictures I showed her). It took about an hour and half to put what seemed like a 100 foils into my long orange turned blasian hair. I got full highlights with olaplex, toner and a trim which took over 3 hours. During that time we talked a lot and she was very down to earth! The salon was clean and organized. It wasn't rowdy with people running around and yelling over blow drivers. I felt relaxed. When it came time to wash my hair I was surprised that they had a foot rest on the shampoo chairs. When I saw my hair it was in awe! My hair felt soft and the color was a gorgeous icy blonde hair which is awesome for being asian with a lot ot red/orange tones naturally! This was what I wanted that my past 2 stylists were either unwilling or scared to do and definitely got my money's worth. When I was checking out I received a new client package with coupons and she let me pick a free sample. I will definitely be using them and coming back to Ashleigh :) read more

I am going to be very honest on this review. I contacted Michele the owner on Monday and it was very late but she reached out to me and took the time to set up an appointment for the next day at 12:45 with Christine. I did mentioned to Michele I wanted dark red and I also mentioned that I needed my hair bleach because I had black in my hair. I know how my hair is that's why I told her bleach at first. I also knew that jet black is a very hard color to get out off. I came in the next day and the front ladies were very polite and welcoming. Then I saw Christine who is the color specialist to do my hair. Christine gave me a tour around the salon and offered me a drink. I then sat at her chair and I told her as well that I needed my hair bleach and that I would like a dark red. Christine had a helper name Meghan who was also very polite and asked me if I need anything else before they start on my hair. Christine & Meghan mentioned that they will put this chemical on my hair to try take the black out but it didn't work. That's why I said bleach because I know how my hair is. After washing out that chemical in my hair because the black didn't pull out as much. They decided to bleach my hair, wash my hair again and my hair turned into this caramel color which lift the black off a little bit not completely. Then Christine and Meghan started coloring my hair red. After it was done they washed again and my hair turned this red/orange/brown color on top. It was brighter on top, it wasn't brighter at the bottom and there was a patch in my hair that was 3 different colors that also had a blonde in it. I left the salon and headed home. When I headed home I realized that my hair was a lot brighter on top and there were strips that were still black and also a 3 color patch. I then contacted Michele to see if I can return to get my hair color right and maybe go a little darker and she set up an appointment for me to come in today at 2 to discuss the options. I came today at 2 and I saw Michele, Christine and Meghan. Christine told me that she will go a little darker up top and maybe if I ever wanted a brighter red to come in because it's not a one day process which I understood that very well. I told her to do the top darker and that at this point I was just so frustrated with my hair that I wanted to get it done and out the way. She then re died my hair and couple patches that needed to be done again and Meghan washed my hair and apparently it turned the same color I had on which it was still bright. Then Christine told Meghan to put a darker hair color on top which I thought that was the plan because that's why I came back for. And at this point I just wanted to get it done even if my hair is not responding the way I wanted to respond. Which is fine because everyone's hair is different. At the end Meghan washed my hair and the color is okay.. it goes with my dark hair like the end of my hair. I had to go because I had things to take care at home & I did not wanted to be at the salon for 6 hours again. So Meghan dried my hair & finished it. I believe that the bleach was not left for too long especially the bottom that's why my hair didn't pull the color I wanted. At this point I'm just going to leave my hair alone for a while. I don't blame anyone as to why my hair is not acting right. But I do know what I want that's why I said bleach at the beginning. The bleach was not left for too long on my hair to pull that jet black out completely and I feel like the second time I came in it was done the same color and it took another time to get a darker version of my hair. Also Christine didn't finish the job Meghan did which I feel like if you start to do my hair I believe that should you finish the job. I understand she had other people to see but is just my opinion. I thank Michele because I didn't have to pay extra today and she tried to fix the problem. At this point to be very honest I am very emotional. I cried going home because it seems like nothing in my life happens to be right. I recently lost my fiancé and I also lost my daughter that's why I wanted to get out and come to the salon to get my hair done to get the color I wanted. But I understand that the jet black is a very hard color to pull out but I believe all the extra steps and things could have been avoided as well. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly. When I arrived, a little early because I was coming from work, I was offered a beverage while I waited. The salon was clean and just overall very cute. I had my haircut with Veronica who was very attentive and detail oriented to find the exact look I was going for. I'd definitely go back to have services from Ashleigh. Aug 2016: The salon was nice and clean. Unfortunately, I received the worst haircut of my life here. After agreeing to 3-4 inches cut off my long hair, the stylist took it upon herself to chop off close to 8 inches leaving my almost waist length hair barely past my shoulders. Since I was facing the mirror, I had no idea how much was gone until it was too late. For anyone who has spent years growing out their hair, you understand how traumatic this could be. I even emailed the salon describing my visit and although I didn't want to get the stylist in trouble, I felt they should know about my experience. I went last night with the intention of getting a trim but decided to throw caution to the wind and get a short cut... my hair has been mid-back length for years. Buying a Living Social or Groupon for a haircut can be a risky business! I saw a good deal for Image Is Salon and decided that if got a bad vibe right away I could always just simply ask for a split-end trim and blow try. However, I was pleasantly surprised with my experience. I was greeted immediately and offered water right away, which was a godsend given that it was 90+ degrees out! Then, I was giving a really brief tour of the entire facility (massage room, pedicure areas, salon stations, waiting area with coffee/tea/water/candy.) I barely had to wait at all for my stylist, Kaila, who turned out to be a gem. Not only was she sweet, friendly and cute as a button, but she did a GREAT job. I truly felt like she was listening to me and I appreciated how she explained tips on how to style it myself at home. I was really pleased with my haircut and will definitely be back to see her again. At the end, Kaila did NOT pressure me to buy products, but she did point out that because of my Living Social deal, I would be getting a 'goodie bag' which included coupons, one of which was good for 25% off product if I bought it that day. I can't pass up a deal, so Kaila helped me pick out mini trial size versions of Pureology products which came with a cute travel bag. The goodie bag contains various other coupons for other services. This attention to detail and customer service shows that Image Is truly cares about their clients and wants to build their customer base by doing a great job and offering incentives, too. This review is for 2 separate people. Kelly -shellac mani. Absolutely one of the best shellac mani's I have ever had. Gorgeous and lasted over 2 weeks. She doesn't have the best bedside manner but I'll still go back because of how good she does nails. Danielle -pedicure, she is an absolute sweetheart with fantastic bedside manner, however the pedi was absolutely just OK. nothing special at all. She scrubs very lightly, and doesn't paint very evenly. She did good with cuticles though. I didn't get the cheapest pedi either so to me it was an absolute rip-off. I could have went to a generic nail salon and paid $25 for a much better one. Overall, the salon is nice and clean with friendly staff and lots of good products to buy. Upon moving back to Maryland in September, I was super sad to leave my stylist behind and try to find a new person to cut my hair. After bad experiences in both cut and coloring, I was nervous about starting the search again. My best friend referred me to Image Is, specifically to Shannon, her stylist. My friend and I both have short hair and she told me Shannon was great with cutting short hair. So I took a chance and booked an appointment. I have absolutely no complaints! Shannon is an total sweetheart- very friendly, easy to talk to, and knows her stuff. There have been a few kinks which were ironed out smoothly (after an early visit, one part of my hair was too long and it was driving me crazy, so I went back to have it fixed between appointments). My hair always looks great and she does a fantastic job on my eyebrows too! I recommended my mother to her (since my mom has short hair and can never find someone to cut it the way she likes) and my mom's super happy with her too. I'm so glad I found Image Is! The manager is also fantastic; I completely messed up my appointment time and ended up missing it, but they were able to squeeze me in late that evening. Just got my hair cut with Jess. I came in a week ago after not cutting my hair done in forever, it was a very long very dry mess. After getting it cut, nothing was wrong with it but I just wasn't sure if I wanted more layers or not, especially since I always measure a do by how I can handle it at home after a wash. Jess offered to let me try it out a few days so I can see how i like it and that she would tweak it if needed and if I call within the week. She also sold me a product she recommended and said I can return if i don't like. Well, the cut was fine but I decided I still wanted more layers and she honored her offer, putting more layers in and also let me trade out my product for something else (which I still haven't tried yet). Came here for the first time today! Only for an eyebrow wax, but the salon is EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. I was offered a drink while I was waiting, which I didn't take, but it was an extremely nice gesture. Got an eyebrow wax from Amira and she was as sweet as can be, I recommend you ask for her! Shannon has been a blessing for my hair. Image Is... was my first real salon experience, as before I was going to a friend wherever she set up shop, the latest being a barber shop. I called on a whim and spoke to someone who listened to my needs, and said that Shannon would be a great fit. Well, a once every 6 weeks salon experience is perfect. Shannon is a sweetheart and we bond over television shows a lot. She knows my hair. The ambiance there is comfortable, elegant without being hoighty-toighty. The prices are salon-expensive and what I would imagine is on par with salon prices, if not a little lower than average. My hair is healthy and I will keep going back until I move away. read more
