Love this place! Patrick did such an amazing job. He did exactly what I requested for my hairstyle and even made it better. The ambiance of the place is so welcoming. Lots of great hairstylists to choose from. I highly recommend. read more

I moved to the area about three months ago. My hair was in desperate need of a cut and was becoming difficult for me to manage. I had read positive reviews for Crafted and called to make an appointment. I showed up to my appointment with my stylist, Byron. He was very friendly and took time to talk about options and figure out what would be best for my hair. I decided to take quite a lot off since warmer weather is coming and I wanted a change. He did an amazing job with my curls! I love the way they lay and look. I've had some bad experiences in the past with my hair ending up poofy when going short, but now it looks healthy and my curls are well defined. I'm excited to see Byron again soon for color which we talked about during my appointment. I definitely recommend Crafted! read more

since my first review, i have been coming here for haircuts every so often and had great experiences with all of them. i really appreciate that i can book appointments through their website and communicate over email as i HATE phone calls. shelly is an absolute doll and is very accommodating and helps problem solve so you get the best services for your wants/needs. the past 1.5 years i have been getting my hair cut with camille. she always does a lovely lived-in shag cut which grows out beautifully. even 6 months after getting a cut i have people complimenting my hair. i also recently incorporated dye with zoe (shelly's rec for the style i wanted). shelly organized my cut and dye appointments seamlessly. i am a go with the flow kind of person when it comes to my hair, so i gave zoe a lot of freedom with the dye and the end result was exactly what i wanted (probably better than the reference photos honestly). everyone i have interacted with at crafted have been really friendly and personable and i feel very comfortable in the space. also the music is great. as long as i live within a reasonable amount of distance from crafted i will probably continue to get my hair done here. read more

Highly recommend this place! It's such a cute place with friendly staff and a welcoming environment. I haven't had a professional stylist cut my hair in a long time and she aced my haircut! Asia cut my hair and she took her time to cut my hair exactly how I wanted! I have curly hair and she knew exactly what to do to enhance the curls and to make my hair lay better. I'm so happy with my hair for the first time in a long time thanks to her! I will def be back! Thank you! read more

I've been to Andi for a haircut twice and appreciate her attention to detail and making sure she truly understands the kind of cut I want. Both times I have left the salon actually able to be proud of my hair in public versus going home and immediately redoing it. She also respects how much you want to talk and doesn't push it, but engages when you want to. And the overall vibe of the salon is super chill. Love this place and Andi! read more

I wish I could give them 10 stars. They are actually phenomenal. First, the atmosphere right when you walk up to the door, you can see it's super inclusive place. I love what they stand for and their values. Next, I've been looking for a reasonable priced curly haircut and byron did such a phenomenal job. Some people say they know how to cut curly hair but really they don't and they butcher it and this was not the case. Byron absolutely knew what to do with curly hair doing a dry cut and shaping it really well This will absolutely be my go to for my haircut and my colors. Byron talk to me so what I wanted to do and really shaped my hair really well. I absolutely loved everything about not only the studio but the people in there it just felt like the place you would want to be. Byron thank you so much for a wonderful haircut. I will be back. read more

Go for the artisanal services (glamorous color grading) if you can afford it but definitely don't book a basic service here if you're not within their 85k+ clientele demographic. Accessibility rating: 2/5 Star minus number 1: Al a cart pricing is not offered. If you get a haircut at Crafted, it mandatorily includes a shampoo and a blowout, making their minimum haircut $85 (the average income in Baltimore city is about 35k). This a clear choice to be a "queer upper-class inclusive" business and not a queer inclusive business, Star minus number 2: The mandatory inclusion of additional services (shampoo, blowout) was not disclosed while scheduling services in-person This added onto the financial apathy Crafted directs towards their targeted client base who is also of a vulnerable economic population. Star minus number 3: Business entrance way and layout is not ADA accessible (notably hard to find in Baltimore, doesn't make it okay) summary explanation of star minuses: Unfortunately, this fun, poppy, queer driven business scores a 2 out of 5 on the "does this business give a shit about you" meter. This was a bummer to write out. I have previously really enjoyed their services in prior years but cant condone the easily changeable apathetic financial operational choices. Where else to go for a haircut in Baltimore? Beatnik offers al a carte pricing options for haircuts that starts at 28 dollars! read more

Got two haircuts by Asia with completely different styles and lengths. They both were along the best cuts that my wavy, unruly hair has ever received. Not only Asia is extremely talented in cutting and styling hairs, she also really worked with me to come up with a cut that worked for me. Additionally spending time with Asia is really pleasant and unlike many of my salon experiences I did not find myself having to engage in small talks. She's a really genuine, talented, and hard-working person. The salon is clean and not overly loud. But I was there for Asia, and would make appointments wherever she works. read more

Fearful of another bad cut, I finally decided to try again. My daughter got a great cut here, so hoping for the best I booked an appointment. With great detail and attention Andi turned this 70 year old lady with long straggly gray hair into a fashionable; feeling young happy customer. read more

I love this place. I came here after getting a *horrible* haircut elsewhere that left me really anxious about trying a new spot and this place is now the only place I trust. When I first came in, I told/showed them about the experience, and what I had asked for - it was the first time I cried over hair. The folks at Crafted were *AMAZING*. They set me up with the right person when I had asked for someone else, this person asked lots of questions and even offered suggestions based on my hair and my experience (ie. "this might look drastic - would that feel ok after your last experience?") They get how personal it is and they showed me true and genuine care. I now see Joaquin, who is amazing and SO talented and fun to talk to (said from an introvert, so that's high praise), but I have never had even the briefest interaction with someone that wasn't just pure joy. I have curcle/wavy hair, and I'm just cracking into my 40s, so expecting it to change, and I feel like I can talk about what I need really easily, and they get it. The vibes are quirky and fun, the price is reasonable, and ultimately - I trust them. I wish I could give more than five stars. read more

Hayley gave me a fresh new look! I love it. She was kind and patient too. I don't always know my work schedule until the day before so being able to call on Sunday and make an appointment for Monday is most excellent!!! thank you staff read more

Bethany Bethany Bethany! This woman is on fire!! She was able to get me in last minute and literally KILLED IT! In a good way. I am so in love with my hair, I haven't been dark in ages and I feel refreshed and younger. I absolutely adore it, a better job could not have been done. She even put a few neon colors in it that UV light up, how fun! My boyfriend wanted to gift me hair for his birthday(lmao) and tried to make it a surprise but it's hard to do that and find a quality person that can take you soon because anyone usually worth going to will be booked up. And believe me, she was, but we got lucky and someone canceled, what luck. He loves it too, doesn't stop complementing it. I will go to her anytime I'm in Baltimore and will definitely have her be my permanent lady when I move here. If you want fire color (or blonde) go to Bethany! She's quirky, kind, listens, understands, is down to Earth, and just all around great. read more

Patrick gives great hair cuts for thick haired ladies. I would recommend him to a friend.

My experience was such that I would be remiss if I DIDN"T post about the amazing and life- changing experience in which KD performed on my hair at Crafted 11.20.2024. We should all be so fortunate to be held in such high regard as a client. I was asked about my previous experiences, my expectations at her chair coupled with her realistic expectations. I felt heard and understood. it takes a special kind of hair stylist to provide the professional and kind level of service. I would like to thank you for having such a professional and attentive stylist at your company. I will not only be coming back for her services, I will be sharing her contact information with my friends, co-workers and partner. A. Merchant read more

Being new to Baltimore, I have been hunting for a place for a good mens cut. After a few failures, I finally found my place and my stylist!! Asia is skilled at her craft. She gave me a great styled cut. And being that she is both experienced and talented, she had ideas for how to make my hair look even better in the future. The studio also has a great vibe. It has its own sense of style that strikes the essential balance of cool without being contrived. read more

I am so excited to have found a person that gets curly hair! Patrick did a great job giving me a curly cut and he also did a clear gloss treatment that made my hair shimmer! I was super excited to go to this salon, I have naturally wavy hair that's very long. I work insane hours and booked a month out to accommodate my work and family schedule and was really looking forward to my appointment. Day of, just hours before my appointment, I was cancelled on. If I had cancelled same day my card on file would have been charged. Not a good experience for my first time attempting to go here. read more

Byron cut my wavy 2b/c hair today. He is attentive, friendly, and very skilled at cutting and shaping wavy hair. He gave me detailed guidance on how to tame and style my waves. The cut is great and really works well with my face shape. Will definitely be going back. Highly recommend!! read more

For all my curly/textured folks, go see Khadijah! She is magical. Khadijah gets to know you, your lifestyle, work, friends, hobbies, personality, she gets to know ALL about you and really listens and remembers. She runs her long nails through the curls checking out their weight and pattern and porosity. Then she mixes all of that knowledge together with a whole boatload of talent to give a haircut that speaks to my personality, is super easy for me to style, makes me feel great, and is not something I would have picked from a photo but totally adore. This is my third cut from her and they just keep getting better. I would drive to Virginia for her if she moved there, but please please don't. read more

I love this place! I've spent most of my life not knowing what to do with my hair, going from hairstylist to hairstylist. I met Andi at her last place in DC and followed her to Crafted, and I'm glad I did! Everyone is super friendly and helpful, and I look forward to my haircuts! I used to be the "please don't talk to me during this haircut" type, but I'm always excited for my chats with Andi every 3 months! She's the best. The spot is clean, the area is safe and has plenty of places to get snacks before or after your haircut, easy parking, etc. Andi's haircuts never miss! I get constant compliments. Honestly it's exhausting lol read more

tl;dr: Asia is great hairstylist, had an awesome time getting my hair dyed and chatting to her all afternoon, and have gotten at least 20 compliments in the past few days. Would recommend. The long version: I've wanted to dye my hair for the past 8 years, have been saving up, and finally decided it was time to do it! CONSULTATION: Asia was really knowledgeable and gave me the rundown on how to take care of bleached hair, what hair products would be better to use, how to prevent fading, etc. etc. She also gave me a quote and answered all the questions I had on haircare and color-depositing conditioners. CUT: I'm happy with the cut she gave me, but it also wasn't anything too drastic. COLORING: Throughout the 6 hour process, Asia walked me through what she was doing and why. She was very friendly and fun to chat with during the long procedure, and in the end, when the color was a lot redder than I wanted it to be, she spent extra time (pushing one of her other appointments later) to make it more orange, and I really appreciated that. 100% would recommend to a friend! read more

GREAT for curly queens!! Went here for the first time last min because I desperately needed a hair cut and I was so happy with the results! I was with Khadijah who was super nice, engaging, and knowledgeable about hair. She asked a lot of questions and she was able to give me a lot of advice for how to take care of my hair. I specifically had long thick curly hair and she was very diligent with it. She cut it exactly how I wanted it (pictures help) and revived my curls! The staff is also very kind and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Will definitely me coming back! read more

New customer from out of town - did some research for a salon to tackle my fast-growing grey hair. An up-beat - happy atmosphere. Gave me a little pep in my step!! Very professional group of stylists - made me feel very welcome. read more

This is my second visit to Crafted Hair Studio to get my hair cut by Asia. I had received a really bad haircut. Asia was recommended to me. She did some excellent damage control on the first visit. This visit she was able to shape it masterfully. I like it better than the original cut I was angling for. She talks to you quite a bit about what you want. She gives suggestions and sorta shows you what she's talking about. She's very knowledgeable and takes her time with you. All the employees are friendly and engaging. Asia is going to be my stylist from now on. Another thing I like about the space is that it seems more intimate. In many salons all the chairs are close together and the stylists gab a lot to each other. read more

I LOVE this salon! I visited a few months ago for a trim with Alex. Alex is amazing! She took the time to talk to me about my hair and even showed me how much she was taking off before she cut my dead ends. Also, the price you cannot beat. I assumed I would pay $100 for my hair cut and ended up paying about half. Last week I went in to get my hair colored. I showed a few pictures to Alex and again she really took the time to explain everything to me and laid out several options to choose from to get the color I wanted. I love the end result! The color and cut are gorgeous. Another note: I am a natural redhead which can be really tricky to color. read more
