I booked a Curl Discovery Cut priced at $265, over $300 after tip, based on how the service is described and marketed: a premium, consultative experience that includes thoughtful shaping, education, and guidance tailored to the client's curl pattern. That is not what I received. I arrived with long, full, healthy hair that I had spent years growing and caring for. My hair was mid back length, and I communicated clearly that my priority was improving the shape while preserving as much length as possible. I did not request a dramatic cut. There was no thorough consultation. Yasmine hardly spoke to me throughout my appointment. She asked a few questions at the outset. There was no education component aside from attempting to sell me products at the conclusion of the service. Despite my very clear request to maintain my length, a significant amount of length was removed, far beyond what was discussed or was necessary to improve the shape of my hair. That loss is permanent. It will take years for my hair to fully recover, and there is nothing that can be done in a follow-up appointment to restore what was taken. Beyond the length loss, the cut itself lacked cohesion. It did not account for the different shrinkage rates across my curl patterns, which range from approximately 3C to 4B, and as a result the shape dried unevenly in an angular helmet shape with blunt awkward bangs, rather than nicely framing my face. The styling portion of the service further obscured the cut. Extremely heavy product was used, weighing my hair down and masking the actual shape. I was not given meaningful education or instruction on how to achieve my desired style at home, despite this being a central component of what differentiates a Curl Discovery Cut from a standard haircut. I left without clarity on how to properly style my own hair and with a result that looked nothing like what I had requested. In addition, the handling of my hair during the service was uncomfortably rough. In the days following my appointment, I experienced ongoing breakage that I had not been dealing with prior. After the appointment, I attempted to resolve the situation in good faith. The only option offered was an in-person assessment and potential adjustment under the salon's service guarantee. No refund, partial or otherwise, was considered. Given the extent of the length already removed, the lack of trust created by the initial experience, and the fact that additional cutting could not undo the damage, returning to the same chair did not feel like a meaningful or safe remedy. If they were genuinely sorry for what happened and the aspects of the service that were not delivered, they would offer a meaningful remedy, not a requirement to put my hair back into the same hands that already damaged it. After my experience, I read additional reviews and noticed a consistent pattern. Multiple clients describe receiving little to no actual consultation or education as part of the Curl Discovery Cut, despite that being a core part of how the service is marketed. Others note difficulty working with looser or mixed curl patterns, overly heavy styling that obscures the cut, failure to account for shrinkage, rough handling during detangling, and breakage following their visit. When concerns are raised, responses from ownership frequently rely on the service guarantee policy rather than acknowledging gaps in execution or offering a proportionate resolution. You were not present at my original appointment, and what you did to attempt to fix the haircut was botched. I asked for a discount because even after your attempts to correct the cut, I was still unsatisfied; you left me with very uneven pieces of hair. Making false claims about my mental state will not change the fact that you did a poor job addressing the unprofessionalism and lack of training from your stylist. I initially wanted to document my major transformation but it turned into a salon horror story by you and your staff's actions. I felt chastised and treated like a child the moment I stepped into your salon. If you feel such a strong emotion about the word NAPPY you should put it on the wall. Many women understand that when things go wrong with our hair, it can be incredibly frustrating. It is even more disheartening when the person responsible blames us, as you did by saying I should have described my expectations more clearly. I am not the professional; you are. My role is to show you a picture, and your job is to explain the process and ask questions to clarify how I want my hair to look. Unfortunately, neither occurred. Your stylist decided to proceed without consulting me about my desired outcome; the consultation focused solely on the health of my hair, not the style I wanted. If I am lying and creating this for content, why are strangers commenting on my TikTok saying they have had similar negative experiences at your salon? I found this salon from DevaCurl - find a stylist site. On Devacurl, it says that Yasmine is Level 3 Master, but I would say if you have like 2B-3A hair, then maybe try somewhere else. I saw pictures of other clients with similar hair texture to mine, so I thought it'd be ok, but I don't recommend it. The salon itself is very clean and looks nice. The cut I got is ok, I think, but it was hard to tell after the styling because so much product was placed in my hair that it was stiff and weighed down. I payed for the Curl Discovery cut where they were supposed to go over styling tips and show me how they recommend styling my hair but they never did - and I think they didn't know what to do with my hair. Pros: - The staff were all kind and friendly. - The salon was clean and nice. - They offered aromatherapy on the towel around my neck for when they washed my hair. - They offered water and snacks. - They recommended the Aveda Be Curly line for me. Cons: - Too much product was put in my hair that it weighed it down. - They didn't know how to style my hair, so they couldn't recommend any styling techniques. - Yasmine told Leah, who put the products in my hair, that she should've used the styling cream instead of the gel - I agree. - The diffusing technique was to put my ends in there and then use her hand to flatten it in, which didn't promote curling. - My cut is a bit shorter than I asked for. I showed her I wanted it past my collarbones, but it's above it. - They stretched out my hair when applying product but didn't scrunch it up like every other devacurl inspired salon I've been to does it. - Yasmine didn't really talk to me much except to ask how I wanted my hair cut. After that, there was no interaction. I think if she would have asked me about my hair, then she would have understood better how to handle it. Went to this lovely salon to get a deep conditioner and hair cut since I have had braids for 2+ years now. My hair was dry and I needed more than just a trim. I've delayed this review for a year but given the economic times, folks should be informed before they spend their money. As others have shared, Yasmine is not pleasant and doesn't take accountability for her errors. This was my second visit to the salon approximately 4 months apart. I came for a trim and my hair was hacked with what I believe to be dull shears. My hair was in good health given I was keeping up with regular trims (my trim before this visit was performed by Yasmine) and used minimal heat. Additionally, in my conversation with Yasmine, she didn't indicate any significant damage. In the photos below you can see my hair before my trim, after my service, and the corrective trim I GAVE MYSELF. You will notice very little difference in length after my corrective cut which indicated to me that her shears were not properly maintained. I didn't feel comfortable letting her or anyone else in the salon cut my hair as it's a permanent action. I kindly explained that reasoning for not returning and she REFUSED to grant a refund. Moral of the story, there are MUCH better places to spend your money. read more

A little oasis for the curly girls and naturalistas in Baltimore. Great place to take care of your crown, get a good curly cut and tips on taking care of your hair. It's always so hard to find a salon that truly cares about the health of your hair and bringing out the beauty in your girls. Coming here is a must. The decor of the small salon is inviting, warm and gives you a feeling of comfort. The friendly staff makes you feel right at home. And the cut, well you'll be thankful! Your curls will be poppin, soft and defined when you leave here. Parking was eh. A little difficult to find on a Friday early afternoon but doable. Prices are a little high but you also get what you pay for. I've gotten curly cuts/deva cuts at devachan and independent salons in LA and never paid over $125. Here the cut is $140 but it's black owned and operated and the service is good so $15 more is all good. Just be prepared. Speaking of being prepared, your hair has to be detoxed before you come!! Make sure to read directions on their site before incurring an additional service charge! Yasmine did a great job on my hair. My curls are healthy and defined. read more

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Leah and Diaspora Salon! I have had a few curly cuts this year, all from different salons, and all were pretty disappointing. Each time by a white girl with straight hair, and I'm not saying that someone with straight hair can't do curly hair, but I definitely trust someone who *has* textured hair to understand different textures better. I had read amazing reviews about Diaspora from girls of all different ethnicities and hair types and figured it was worth a try. This salon is gorgeous and feels so comfortable as soon as you walk in. At the moment there are only two stylists which makes it feel really intimate. This isn't the type of place that has a dozen stylists and offers a hundred services. They do one thing and they do that one thing WELL. I explained to Leah what I was struggling with and how I went from having amazing hair days every day following the same routine for a year to having a messy disaster on my hands. She gave me a fresh cut to revitalize my hair (noting that my last cut was a bit of a disaster with how uneven everything was), covered my greys with my natural color at the root, added in some highlights and some FUN color! I had a little pink on my ends when I came in and what I ended up with was this beautiful dimensional teal/blue/purple wonderland on my head and I LOVE IT! Not only did she totally knock the color out of the park, but she also got me the beautiful curl definition that I have been craving, explained to me what she did, and how to recreate the look at home, as well as why what worked so well before probably stopped working. I left with new products, gorgeous hair, feeling the happiest I have ever felt leaving a salon. I waited almost a week before posting it because I was trying to find some redeeming quality about my experience so that I wouldn't have to give a bad review to a small business. But I have to share this. To start I have been natural since 2013 and have had professional Deva cuts before at other salons. I fully acknowledge that I had some damage to my hair and was prepared for a significant cut. I read the instructions in the website and prepared myself accordingly. My hair was prepared and fully dried. I sat and patiently waited ONE HOUR after my appointment time before I sat in the chair. My appointment was with Leah but her assistant did my initial cut. She didn't seem to review my profile and only asked if I brought a reference photo which I did. Then to my horror she pulled my hair in large sections and started cutting chunks horizontally across!!! This is NOT how you cut curly hair! After a wash and conditioner, Leah proceeded to use a tool to tease out my curls with a lot of mousse. I've never used mousse on my hair and you can generally define my curls with just your fingers. But I'm always up for learning something new so I sat quietly and watched. The tools seemed to stretch my hair almost flat it barely looked wavy but I thought maybe as it dried it would curl back up....it did not. When I left no one recommended a follow up service or expected to see me again...almost as if they knew how bad it was before I did. When I got home it was really sad....but I told myself maybe styling just isn't their forte. If I had been able to restyle it and it looked okay I would not be writing this review. But my curls are NOT OK. I have done a twist out and a washed and go and the curls are struggling to return. And they can't say it's because of the damage because i took before photos and I clearly have defined curls coming out of my head. To top it off it's UNEVEN. WHY/HOW could you let me walk out looking looking like this?!??!? I know it's just hair and it will grow back, but I paid A LOT of money for this, I'm going on vacation and it's a month before my birthday and now I'm going to have to hide my head for the next couple of months until it grows back out and is even again. I scheduled a curly discover session with Leah and honestly should have just signed up for a wash and go because nothing about this service was informational. Aside from running about 30 min behind, 90% of the information I received was because I asked, not because she willingly told me. After a while I didn't even want to ask questions anymore because I was asking so much since she was barely telling me about my hair, how to do it, what to do, what she used, why oil is not good, what products were best for me, etc. and I know she was capable of doing so because the other woman that was in the salon as well, she was talking to her and informing her of what she was doing, why, the name of the products, etc. so I was actually annoyed at how I was being treated. Maybe because I was younger. I feel like if you are a new natural (which i am not) or someone who is new to the "no oil" movement, schedule elsewhere. Perhaps with Lov Ley Curls in Virginia who is apart of the iamblackgirlcurls directory. A friend of mind went there and learned so much, so all the unanswered questions I had, I have asked her and she is super helpful and well equipped to take care of her hair at home. Unlike me who is still calling the shop asking questions 2 days later. One thing I REALLY hated was when she was brushing my hair from the root to tip with conditioner in it. Instead of detangling from the tip to the root. Imagine a little girl brushing a matted Barbie dolls hair. That's what it felt like. I was clenching my fists under the cape from the pain, I wanted to walk out so bad at that point especially because I'm tender headed . I did receive compliments from strangers on my hair but when asked where I went, I told them I personally would not recommend this place, because I did not like the service I received. This is the most detail oriented salon I've ever been to. They make sure they have a good understanding of your hair and what you're looking for before they start. Leah did my hair for my wedding and I couldn't be happier. I came right in and she only worked on my hair while I was there which was relief as a bride trying to make it to my wedding on time. I had emailed them a picture of the style I wanted in advance with my new client form. Imagine my surprise that Yasmine actually looked at it prior to getting started. The visit was overall uneventful which is a good thing... I arrived, got the exact style that I asked for, and whatever they used on my hair during the wash process made my hair feel super soft and smelled wonderful. The shop is intimate, not so crowded that you are tripping over each other but intimate in that everyone seems to be having one big conversation...it was kind of neat, like a barbershop vibe for women. ZERO stars! This is the WORST salon to which I have ever been! I was completely ripped off. I paid $65 for a wash and for Yasmine to rub her fingers in my hair with a solution that left white particles in my hair. First off, prior to my appointment I filled out a consultation form on their website. I included all details, answering all questions asked of me about my hair. I received a follow up call from Leah. I returned the call this time speaking with Yasmine and asked ALL appropriate questions concerning what I would need to do to prepare for an appointment. I even inquired about their "detox hair preparation" technique. I specifically asked if I would need to follow their "detox hair preparation" prior to my appointment. Yasmine responded, " No. The detox prep is for our clients receiving the Deva Cut." To which I replied, "Oh. Okay. Well then I would like the first available." I also explained that I have a job interview so I was looking for a professional style. I even sent a photo of my preferred style. Yasmine scheduled me for the next available appointment which was two days later. Fast forward. When I arrived, Yasmine was rude because I arrived 20 early. Strike One. I know they say to arrive ten minutes early; however, I like to be early considering I am new to Baltimore and am unfamiliar with parking, the neighborhood, etc. Then, when I sat in her chair, she says to me, "Your hair is already very similar to the picture you sent of how you want you style to be." That should have been my second warning that this was not going to be a pleasant experience. So, I let Leah wash my hair. Then Yasmine used a foam solution and ran her fingers through my hair and sat me under the dryer. When she turned the dryer off, she sat me in her chair and took off the cape and said I was done. My hair looked AWFUL! She tried to tell me that my hair did not turn out like the picture because I did not Detox my hair. I reminded her that she told me in a telephone conversation that I did not have to, to which she responded, "I don't remember that." Strike Two. Then she tried to tell me because I rubbed my two fingers through the very front of my hair (my widow's peak) I changed the style of hair from what she did. STRIKE Three. She was rude. She insulted me. WORST customer service EVER! She offered to do my hair again, but after the three strikes I asked her what makes her think I would even allow her to touch my hair! Then, I paid. She kept arguing with me with poor excuses as to why she could not do my hair. She also said, "I have never had a horrible customer like this." Her "this" was in reference to me. To which I replied, "And I have NEVER been to a salon and dealt with a person who CLAIMS to be a stylist." To TOP it off ( It GETS WORSE) she charges me twice on my card (My BANK confirmed this) and threw me out before I could receive my electronic receipt and threatened to call the cops on me!!! I NEVER used profanity. I just RIGHTFULLY complained about her lack of professionalism. My bank had to call her salon and she was rude to them too!!! I am still waiting for my refund. I WILL NEVER GO to Diaspora AGAIN! Nor will I recommend or refer them to ANYONE. read more

I loved coming into minority women owned businesses who have it together. Both Leah and Yasmine provides an in-depth consultation on my hair and was very well aware of how to properly color it not to damage my hair. I have been to this salon twice. The first time there was only one other client there, so Yasmine was completely focused on my hair. I loved my haircut after, but she did not make me feel very welcome. Maybe I did something, but she was not talking to me at all unless I asked a question. I brushed it off and then I recently went in for a second time, Yasmine chopped a lot of my hair off and I tried to ask a question, before I could finish the question, she cut me off and gave me an abrupt answer. I figured she really does not want to speak to me! This time around the salon was pretty full and she was very talkative to everyone else around and whoever was in her chair except for me. My hair was styled by Leah and then when I realized it does not look quite right, Yasmine just cut more of my hair off. My hair is too short and I paid about $160 for this experience. Went back to diaspora for cut and color today. Yasmine is amazingly talented. She gave me the perfect color with pintura highlights and a gloss to help with brassy tones. She was conservative with the trim which I appreciate immensely. I have salon hopped over the past year for convenience as I live an hour from B'more and have realized the error of my ways because I NEVER should have stopped coming to Diaspora. Awesome salon in the heart of Baltimore. Also Leah, another stylist there is super sweet, welcoming and energetic. I always have fun at at the salon when I go. One of the best black hair salons in Baltimore!! Pros: very professional! Fully functional website with prices & understandings of services. (They're picky on how they want u to come with ur hair prepped so read EVERYTHING!) I had an early appointment & they were there on time waiting for me. Worked with Leah who's certifications are on the wall (rare for ethnic salons) so u know she's bout her business.. and we were in and out. I got a trim on blow dryed hair... my hair doesn't smell burnt, it's not weighed down with product AND.. she gave me a nice trim without cutting everything off! There is parking in front and a lil lot on the side of the block. Cons: hard to find. (It's a little past the Korean BBQ spot) a little expensive (again, $75 for blow dry and trim is usually $55) .. worth it but be prepared. Overall, I'm coming back. The first time I came to this salon was in 2015. I went for my very first DevaCut. It was my first salon trip with loose natural hair. Yasmine was awesome- patient, knowledgeable, professional and kind. Somehow, 5 years flew by and I went to other natural salons. Early in 2020, I began to feel that my hair absolutely needed some TLC but I didn't want to go to any of the previous salons I'd been to. I made my appointment, had my consultation with Leah and went. I'm so glad I did. Leah did an AMAZING job on my cut and reassured me that my hair was in much better condition than I thought. I felt listened to and trusted- I said it didn't matter how much came off as long as the damage was gone. Leah cut a good amount off and also gave my hair a shape flattering for my face while taking into account that I don't exclusively wash-n-go. This was also during Covid-19. There were only two stylists and two clients at the time, me & someone else. Everyone had on masks and there was frequent hand washing as well as sanitizer available on each station. This salon has *always* been clean and hygienic, even before COVID. I can't say enough how much I enjoyed the experience, gaining new knowledge and also feeling safe. read more

A few years ago I was blessed to have my curls revived by Yasmine, owner and naturalista extraordinaire of Diaspora Salon in Baltimore. Well, years later and a pandemic to boot, I fell off the wagon, and tried different things with my hair, hair regimen, and many things I shouldn't have done to my hair. I thought all was lost; my curls, and pattern was no more. Then I decided I can't pinch pennies or DIY anymore if I want amazing results. So, after trying to trim my hair myself, disaster, and color it myself, won't do that again either, I returned to the natural hair doctor herself, Yasmine, and got a Curly Cut. I am so glad I was back in her chair. I had to do a big chop and start a new, and it was so worth it. I literally had to call her back and thank her for making me feel beautiful again. I have been to Diaspora for a Deva Cut twice now and have been blown away by the quality of the cut and knowledge of the stylists both times! (If you have curly, kinky or wavy hair I can't recommend a Deva Cut enough! It's a life changer - regardless of gender!) Both Leah and Yasmine do an incredible job but I personally felt more at home with Leah. As for the salon, it is clean, beautifully decorated and has wonderful ambience. I only have one complaint - the chair for the dryer. There's a special bright green Deva hard bonnet dryer that makes you feel like you're in a rocket shooting into space. That chair though - just horrible. At first I thought that it reminded me of church pews, but pews are more comfortable. It's extremely hard and uncomfortable. If I was there any longer then I would've lost the feeling in my legs. Just brutal. If not for the chair, five stars. read more

Diaspora Salon is a gem. Yasmine and Leah are beautiful sisters who are blessed in their craft. I have been going to this Salon for about 3 years. The only scissors that touch my hair reside in this salon. I love the ambiance of the salon. I appreciate the conversations. On my most recent visit, 7/30/20, I was pleased to see that the salon was abiding by social distancing guidelines and EVERYONE wore a mask. Yasmine and Leah sprayed and disinfected continuously. As usual, I received excellent service. Yasmine understands curly hair and cuts accordingly. She always provides excellent customer service and quality hair care. I wish that I would have read the reviews before beginning my curly hair journey with this particular salon. I debated on and contemplated with myself on whether or not I should write a review. My first visit to the salon was ideal. I scheduled an appointment with Yasmine (owner) for color correction and also a curly cut. I was greeted and placed into Yasmine's chair at the time of my appointment. Yasmine reviewed my information from the consultation form that I sent in a week before the appointment with me. As she is doing my consultation, she is also training her apprentice, which I did not mind because I wanted to get as much information on the services that she would be providing as possible. Yasmine dyed my hair a brown color and also chopped all of my hair off into a tapered cut. The initial images that I provided for my desired hair cut were not of a tapered cut, but before I knew it the majority of my hair was gone. I figured why not start over because Yasmine stated that my hair was damaged from my previous color. I purchased products from the salon and scheduled another visit because I wanted to incorporate visiting a natural salon into my hair journey. I have been natural for about 12 years, and I have not had services performed by someone who specializes in and is certified with DevaCurl. I was intrigued by Yasmine's work ethic because she made me feel welcome. I ended up spending over $300.00 on the services provided and also on the hair care products. I went in for my second appointment, and Yasmine colored my hair again and also did a wash and go on my hair, and we discussed how often I should come to the salon and scheduled my third appointment (which is now my last appointment with this salon.) The atmosphere that I walked into on this previous Saturday, really was detrimental to my overall experience. I felt so uncomfortable and out of place. From the beginning, Yasmine stated that I could go over to the shampoo bowl. I proceeded to the bowl; she began washing my hair and did not speak to me at all. I could sense that the energy was off because, with my other appointments, we would have general conversations while she performed her service. I sat underneath the dryer for almost one in a half-hour for a wash n go service. For the previous wash and go service that I have on my second visit she used a product and placed it throughout my hair and kind of squishes the hair to give it a defined curl look, but for this wash n go she used foam on my hair and placed me underneath the dryer. She came over to check on me, and from what I could tell had an attitude because my hair was not dry. She stated I needed to keep my head up while I was underneath the dryer and walked away. For whatever reason, I felt that my presence was not wanted in that building. Finally, she comes over and asks me to sit in her chair; she fluffs my hair out and cuts a few pieces of my hair and says she is done. This was a completely different experience for me because I am used to her inquiring about my desired look, showing interest in my hair, and playing around with it. She did not speak to me at all while I was there not even a comment on the current condition of my hair. I would say if I were reading this, it sounds a bit petty for me to type this. During the entire time that I was there, she spoke to every person inside of the building but me. I wanted to ask if I had done something wrong, but she beat me over to the front desk before my question could come out of my mouth. She asked if I wanted to schedule my next appointment. I said, "No," she shrugged her shoulders, said "ok," and rang me up and went back to her other client. For the other two appointments that I had previous to this appointment, she did not work on any other clients. This Saturday, women filled all of the seats in the salon. I am not sure if she felt overwhelmed with her schedule or not. The reason that I decided to go to this salon was because of my initial experience, which was pleasant; she was so knowledgeable, and her level of professionalism put me at ease. The artwork in the salon, the meaning of Diaspora, the policies and procedures to have services performed, and also the process of obtaining an appointment was very intriguing to me. I wanted to be around black women who embraced their natural hair. From the previous conversations that I had with Yasmine while I was there, I knew I had found a new salon home. I just walked away from this particular appointment feeling uneasy and upset that I paid for such an unpleasant experience. She usually takes her time to style my hair, and I could see and feel that she took pride in her work from my previous experiences. The owner today advised she would not refund my money but would let me come in to fix my hair. At $140 I would never allow her to touch my hair again. I have to say I was excited to spend the money on a great cut. I read the reviews and was unbothered by her being personable. I was impressed but hated doing the application before my visit because I thought the consultation was going to be what I needed. I spoke to Leah way more and she was more helpful than the owner. I took an appoint changebin time expecting my consultation but the conversation had more to do with natural hair in general than my hair. It last as long as the cut and she didn't touch my hair again until it was dry and fluffed it out cut more or it and I was done. Not the type of service I expected for the price. Now to why I was there. I originally made a deva cut appointment but after I finished the prescreening application the women advised I would be getting a curly cut since I do stretch my hair as well as style it curly. Well when I got home and the hair started to move I saw that I got a a- symmetrical 80's hair the back of my hair looks like I have a bawled spot and that one side one person cut the other she cut. One side is longer and the other is short and rounded at the end. It is very noticeable and I have taken many pictures and sent them to her. She was not apologetic just asked why I was sending pictures like she couldn't see the error. She offered no solution until I advised I wanted my money back and that was to come in within 7 days to get it repaired. I explained in and email my prior bad experiences in hair salons and that I would not be returning ever. Gave her a chance to say something remotely feeling bad about the service and the hair but I got you keep sending pictures without saying why. I hate writing reviews on black businesses (which I rarely do) but I would hate for someone else to have this experience. I know the hair will grow back but prior to going to her I got my hair stretched and cut and that stylist charged half the price and was friendly, personable, professional, and would have never been so cold about a service she performed. Think hard before going to Yasmine. The other person and her assistant seem wonderful. I see the response Yasmine left. And for all she said I'm confused where I said I was treat wrong. I expected a hair cut that was like the pictures I sent in your pre applications package. That I took my time to fill out per you. I expected a consultation that warranted facts about my hair. When the visit was over we spoke about my curl pattern. NEVER about the cut bc as you know until it moves or the curls loosen you can really see the true cut. At no point did I refuse communication with you and you have every email I sent asking you to email so I had a paper trail. You have responded numerous times by just telling me to cal and I would not because I WANTED A PAPER TRAIL. Not sure if you just didn't read that in all my emails. My choice to do that came from leaving you a few messages a couple days after my appointment with no response. So please stop stating things that are not fact and wishing them true. This respond is FIRST time you have ever said your sorry !! In all these months you never once said just that simple word !!!! read more

I've never known what to do with my curly hair and basically went in and told them that they could do whatever they wanted to my head, just help!! Lol I was NOT disappointed! I left the salon with my hair looking better than it ever has in my entire 27 years of my life. It was a total reset! I have been to this salon twice, it was also my first time at a natural hair salon. I had an overall good experience. The Salon is small but comfy. All 3 hair dressers are very knowledgeable which I can appreciate. The first time I went I got a wash and go. It came over very nice, it was soft shiny full of body and very defined. My hair is kinky curly 4a/4b so I was surprised to see my hair so defined. However, because of my specific hair type, this style did not last very long for me (which I expected) I started to have frizz around day 3 and I wore it out for about 6 days completely. The second time I got a twist out. Again my hair was very soft and defined. My hair is natural thin so she had used flexi rods on my twists (which I did not mind). This style lasted me an entire 9 days. Now that was to my surprise. And the good thing about this style is that the older it is the bigger it gets which is what I want ...VOLUME! This salon uses high end products that are great but a little to pricey for me to keep in my regular hair regimen. But definitely worth it if your getting your hair professionally done. I would recommend this place if you are a lazy natural and or would like to experience things you can't achieve at home on your own. Their prices are fair considering they are using high end products and the time to put into these styles. Oh and the best part they have a coupon for first timers that "check in" on the yelp app. It's not promoted to my knowledge I kind of just stumbled across it. Parking is ok. I never had an issue because I usually made my appointments in the morning. I see myself going back in the near future. Hope this reviews helps. read more
