I've been coming to Nail Center for years so it makes me sad to write this. My gel mani and regular pedi with tom was extremely disappointing. No cuticles were cut for either my fingers or my toes. Never cleaned out under the nails either. The nails were filed extremely unevenly... I think I have to go home and re-file everything. My massages were so rough I thought I was going to leave with bruises. i asked for the color to be matching on my fingers and toes. the polishes were taken from the same box but they are not the same color. Polish was applied so quickly hardly giving even 30 sec to dry between coats. edges of the nail have no polish on them. The surface of the nails feels rough and bubbly and when I expressed this concern, they were quickly filed over and the problem is not fixed. If you're looking for a great nail and lash spot, look no further! I had a wonderful experience here last Friday. They take COVID restrictions seriously and everything was setup for appropriate blocking and social distancing. The ambiance is really pretty and I was helped the second I walked in. Lots of available parking in the lot (please note it is one way in and out around the building) and conveniently located off the first street off of 695. There is a special going on right now for an $89 full set of classic lash extensions. Tori did a wonderful job and it only took about an hour (far shorter than the last time I got a full set from another place). I plan to visit again in the future with my daughters to get manis/pedis. read more

My 101-year-old mother came for a pedicure with her home health care aide. Over the telephone, I had been quoted $25 for this service. Later, the home health care aide called to ask how much the service would be with gel polish included. She was quoted a total price of $53 for the pedicure with gel polish. The home health care aide reported that she observed the owner, after sizing up my exceedingly elderly mother, whisper to the operator. After the service was completed, the home health care aide, acting responsibly, asked to verify what was owed. Suddenly, the price had jumped to $75! The home health care aide phoned me about the Nail Center evidently trying to put one over on my mother. As if magically, as soon as the owner heard me say I would call my son who has legal experience, call the Better Business Bureau , and certainly never return, the price reverted to $55. What kind of business owner attempts to gouge the very elderly? Do not patronize this business. And certainly do not let your elderly mother go there! read more

Every time I go to N.C I'm treated like a queen! I have been going to Cindy for many years. My sister ,my sister in law , cousins and friends. I get the powder dip and my nails grow so much Cindy needs to file them down. Walk-in or call I'm always seen. Now my nails are short again to keep them healthy, to start over. My toes nails I get OPI and it stays on for many weeks. Cindy shared with me light colors are best. They don't cause white spotlights and lines on my toes. "O" I love the ombré colors that blend so nicely. read more

Tori is awesome!!!! I come here to get my eyelash extensions and I couldn't be happier. I live over an hour away but she makes the travel worth it! She is so polite and the salon is so inviting! The eyelash/wax room is off in a separate room with a door so there is no interference. The chair is heated and soft, the room is filled with relaxing music.... I have fallen asleep plenty of times in the middle of my fill. Great experience, always look forward to my lash fill days! :) Also... had my eyebrows waxed last time I was there and they looked great too! Kept the shape I love and low in cost! Thanks again Tori! I got my nails done by Tina on 4/17/2021 I explained when I got there what I wanted . She stated ok . I wanted my base color to be white and every other tip to be pink and blue . Unfortunately I had to return 4/18/2021 due to my thumb chipping . When I arrived she was available. Another lady came over and stated that it's a design and that I would have to pay $10 for a chipped thumb . I stated no I just was here yesterday and Tina did not once mention to me that a line on the tip of my nails was a design , unfortunately Tina would not give me a pink tip . So due to Tina not knowing the prices of services , I left with one white thumb & I will not be back because at that point your penny pinching , and expecting me to know prices . Tina should have been accountable for not knowing the prices of services and letting me know that next time I would have to pay more if I wanted that but no unfortunately on top of that it's 4/19/2021 and that same thumb is chipped . I stopped in because I saw the sign that they were now open and I figured I would give it a try. I was seated right away even though the place was busy. But my technician had a sour demeanor (I have bad nails but she made me feel really bad about them). I don't think the tools were sanitized. She came with a basket of files and tools but with no proof they had been sanitized. She was rough when cutting my cuticles. I don't think she even took off the old polish. No oil. No towels when washing hands at the sink (she brought a heated towel but still I had to walk from the sink with dripping wet hands. I did not like my experience and would not be back. read more

A friend told me about the precautions they take in this salon regarding Covid-19. Of course everyone wears masks. They hav shower curtains between each pedicure chair. This place is a hidden gem in Pikesville. I've been going to Tori for lash extensions for several months and she is amazing! The salon is very nice and clean. Service is always courteous. I always appreciate when I'm acknowledged as soon as I walk in even if they are busy at the moment. Tori is always on time. She truly takes my natural lashes into consideration in order to pair me with extensions that they can handle so they last a while. The service is done in a relaxing private facial room that often puts me to sleep. Pricing is super affordable and they seem to be running specials very often! GET YOUR PEDI'S DONE BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE CITY! Granted, my tootsies were not in critical need of buffing and polishing, but a pedi seemed like a good self-indulgence and time waster. But not for $32! No Mani. Just Pedi! And by pedi I mean a basic, bare bones, no frills, only buffed the top of my nails and had to ask her 3x to trim my toenails (what the hell? So gross- is this how they do in Bmore? Keep growing toenails so long they can be used as weapons in a dark alley, because hey, there's a lot of dark alleys in Baltimore, although toenails-as-weapons seems a little futile. I mean, have you seen The Wire? Oh yeah and that other show, uhh.. something Life on the Streets. Oh that's right, HOMICIDE.) So to conclude our Lesson of the Day, Ladies and Metros, pamper your tootsies BEFORE you jump on that plane or hop on that bus. And to any Baltimore yelpers out there (where you at?) go ahead and grow your dagger-toes, you need all the self-defenses you can get. read more

I should have paid attention to the previous review. Currently uber-frustrated at this place. 3 days ago I went in for a mani-pedi; I was super-excited because they advertised the OPI Axxium gels and cost a few dollars less than another local Baltimore salon. Ok fine, I was only in town for a couple of days and they said thy could take me that very day. Now here's the problem: it's now 3 days later and a manicure that should have lasted me over 2 weeks is completely ruined! We're not talking about just chipped lacquer (that happens, I get it) but this isn't a lacquer! These are gels that are supposed to stay on! Yeah, I picked up a bag this evening and the ENTIRE GEL FROM MY MIDDLE FINGER POPPED STRAIGHT OFF! AS THE NIGHT HAS CONTINUED 2 MORE GELS HAVE POPPED CLEAN OFF! So now I have 7 nails with Axxium gels (that are already starting to chip) and THREE NAILS WITH NOTHING! I've had this treatment before and never has this happened! In fact, I kinda loved the Axxiums last time, they started to grow out before it started to look bad. Not so much this time. Plus, didn't even get a hand massage. I feel bad because the woman that put the gels on was very sweet and we had a lovely talk, but she did a really bad job. And she was the owner's daughter - she made a big deal of the fact that she and her mother decided to buy the entire Axxium line because it was an awesome product. Unfortunately, I don't think they know how to use it. Plus, I don't think they used the proper products together. And one of the nails was so light, rather than remove the product, she just used regular polish to fill in. That's not what I paid for. I am le sad. This was supposed to be an awesome birthday treat. Now I have to get my nails done again (cuz you can't just take the soak-off gels at home, you kind of need to go into a salon to get it taken care of properly. No one wants to spend 2 hours taking it off alone when a salon can do it in 5 minutes and with alot less acetone.) Which means more time and even MORE money. WTH? Not cool, Nail Center, not cool. I've been using Nail Center for over 10 years. I've used them for manicures with silk, pedicures and waxing. The salon is always clean, the staff is friendly and they always run on time. Cindy, Tom, Tori and the rest of the staff make me feel like I'm the only customer in the salon. My husband loves relaxing in the pedicure chairs and his occasional manicure or pedicure. read more

I am a regular at a Fancier Nail Salon in Quarry Lake. Decided to give Nail Center a try. The owners are very nice and Tom gives a decent pedicure. However, the shop is in disrepair. All the massage chairs are old and starting to rip apart. The towels are paper thin and raggedy. Even the benches by the door are old and ripped. Nail Center needs to be updated and refreshed to make it more enjoyable for their customers. read more

I'm not from Pikesville, but I was meeting some friends and I went here to get a mani - pedi beforehand since it was close to where we were meeting. Everyone is really nice, but the quality of both were sub par. The pedi was okay, but the application of the toe color was distinctively amateurish. I have done better on myself. The color I choose was apparently a pretty crappy brand because it's streaky. Personally, I would want my nail center to not have subpar quality color. Included on that is that my nails are all a little differently shaped. The mani was a gel and it is slapdashed. the color is streaky, the painting indiscriminate, and the top coat, heavy and all over my fingers. These people were very very nice and I hope they get better. But I will not return. I am going to my local place to have them redo my color. Oh, also, the gel is starting to chip. read more

Tori's lashes are amazing! Her detail oriented nature makes her a true pro, my lashes look amazing every time! Spending 30-60 minutes with your eyes closed on a table can be awkward, but Tori makes me feel so comfortable and relaxed with our conversations and her soothing music. I truly look forward to our time together, it's a treat to unwind from life in her room. Kim is fantastic! She does a great manicure and pedicure. She's a perfectionist and takes her time. Her hand and foot massages are so luxurious. The worst nail salon around...I went Mother's Day weekend took my mother and sister to get pedicures and manicures, they chopped our toe nails down to nothing and they were crooked as shit! My moms gel manicure was just as bad she had long beautiful real nails and they cut half of them down to the skin and the paint job was awful! I got home and they were all messed up keep in mind they were gel so how she managed that one is beyond me! I was so embarrassed that I took them here! I went back last week hoping the person I got would give me a decent pedicures turns out it was the same lady from last time, I told her I didn't want them cut, she filed them down to nothing AGAIN, and the paint job was god awful! Clear coat all over my skin and all clumped in the corners. I called to get a refund after I sent a video thru text and she agreed it was bad, yet they charged me and didn't refund me... needless to say I'll be going back in during lunch so they can pay me my $102 back!!! The lady who did my nails was SO rude, did not massage me at all during a pedicure, rolled her eyes when I asked her to cut my nails, did not cut my cuticles, and then demanded "you pay me now" before painting my nails.
