    Freehand art by Nick
    Miriam G.

Nick consistently does an excellent job with my nails. His free hand art is fantastic. I've had dip powder on natural nails and acrylics - both have been good. I have incredibly thin nails, and thanks to Nick I can now wear them longer.

I lived in Baltimore for almost 6 months before I finally found a good nail salon and I tell everyone about MV! Nick and Q have been the best with doing my nails and I recently had a pedicure by Chanel and wish I had booked her sooner - she put her all into that pedi and massages.

The empty chair is where my nail tech SHOULD be for this scheduled appointment

Customer service. They constantly overbook and give no considerations to the ppl who schedule appointments as they take every single walk-in that enters the salon. I always like my nails but the wait and time to complete is like 2.5-3 hr process which is too long for service

I went back after 1.5 days because the chipping reached insane levels (photo shown is chipping less than 24 hrs after I got them done originally). I had a different person redo them and photos are as attached. While he did redo them better than initially they still remain slightly uneven though thankfully much improved to the original that were wildly uneven and streaky. He told me the reason they chipped was because I didn't dry them long enough initially even though I dried them well over 30 minutes. Furthermore he did try to tell me they were uneven because my nails are uneven but I know seeing his attempt it's possible to at least do a decent job compared to before. I will not be returning to this nail salon but I'm glad this is over with and I at least have decent nails for my birthday.

First time here! Quality and relaxing atmosphere. My nail girl did amazing ! Only issue parking because of the area. But 10/10 for my first time.

I've been going to this nail salon for the past few months and I cannot recommend it enough. My nails turn out amazing every single time. Great service at a pretty reasonable price.

Worst nail service I have ever had. Manicure: Nail tech cut me and kept going, Thumb nails slanted. Pedicure: Paint missing on tip of large toe, Scrub was placed on my legs and none on my feet. Pumice user on my feet with no barrier. Just pumice and skin.

So i didn't expect much given the recent reviews, but Henry did my dip power nails and they look great! He was very meticulous and made sure that they looked even and smooth! I was a walkin on friday around 11:30am btw.

Wonderful! Great customer service and they take extra care of me when I request a crazy design for my manicure.

Came here to get my nails done for a wedding for the first time since before Covid and was so glad I did! Nick did an amazing job with my acrylic gel nails :) Will be coming back for a gel pedi with a friend and posting photos of that too! Also, added a photo of my acrylic gel set after 3 weeks and they are still FLAWLESS

DO NOT GET A MANICURE FROM ANYONE BUT NICK!!!! Pedicures are a different story but I am very disappointed. Nick is amazing for sure, my nails will last 3-4 weeks when he does them for me! So this is not to throw shade on the entire business. I had a woman do my nails last time, they looked "ok" --way rounder than I would have liked for coffin shape. The pedicure was one of the BEST so I will give her that. I paid over $100 for a full set and a pedicure. 4 days later my pinky nail fell off so I went back to get it fixed and I had to wait 45 minutes to get served. Granted, I just walked in without an appointment on a Friday- but it is their fault for doing a bad job from the start. I am now only 7 days out since I got my full set and two more fingers came off!!!!!! (see photos, it is now my other pinky and middle finger) I have NEVER in my 10 years of getting acrylics had 3 nails come off in the same week!!!!! without any pain... just popped right off. I now feel afraid that if I go get it fixed I will be charged so I will be rocking bandaids for now. Please do yourself a favor and if you're gonna go to MV nails for a acrylic full set or a fill avoid everyone but Nick at all costs so you don't spend an arm and a leg for a manicure. The only reason I come here and pay $15 more than other local spa's is because of the quality I have experienced on prior visits, but I don't think I'll be back unless I get Nick specifically. 100% my weakest manicure I have ever had. Such a shame because i LOVED the color and I am extremely busy with work and school to keep going back for repairs I tried to call today to explain my situation but they must be closed due to the storm. Hope no one else has had this experience. It SUCKS!!!!

I recently was on the market for a great manicurist in my neighborhood. Just so happens MV Nails and Spa is on my street. I gave them a try and I have been back 3 times since. Jessica is the best! She has a great eye for nails and is very knowledgeable. If you're in the market for a Nail and Spa spot, give MV a try! Their pricing is decent as well. No surprise charges at the end of your visit. LOL

I don't even know what this shape was supposed to be

Ask the Community - MV Nails and Spa

What is the average cost of a fill in with gel polish?

    Approximately $45

Can I get SNS without the gel topcoat? I'm having a hard time finding a salon like my old salon that doesn't do the UV light topcoat. I prefer the traditional SNS topcoat or no topcoat for matte.

Hi Jessica, I don't think so but you can always request not to get the UV light topcoat and see what they say.

I don't see any prices, How much for a full set of Gel nails? And how much is a gel fill in? And a pedicure?

Well it depends on what you get, but a basic gel manicure will run you 35 and a basic pedicure without callus remover is 25.

Do they offer wine or spirits?

No-- just soda, water, juice and sometimes cold coffee beverages.

Hi, I wanted to start using SNS powder for my nails to help them grow. With SNS powder, can you all still add length to your nails with tips? And do you all have Polygel nail enhancer? I wanted to get a french fade.

Hi Marie you can add tips to your SNS. We don't have polygel, but we do ombré nails with SNS dipping

Will you be open on Memorial Day?

They posted on their Facebook page they would be closed. But they have Sunday hours. Call though-- it's usually packed on Sundays.

Does this buisness do acrylic nails/tips for pedicures? The nail for my big toe may need that "coverage". And if so, how much?! I can't see prices on their website. I just see the services provided.

Hi, yes they do! The prices range from around $30-40

Does this business do French ombré nails?

    Yes we do

Does this salon do dip powder manicures (SNS powder)?

    Yep, I had one today.

Unfortunately, due to the holidays they were low on stock and none were to my liking. But, I noticed they had a bar upstairs. Since I wasn't able to spend time hunting for a hat, I had time for a beer. Typically, I search for breweries, but in this case I opted for a beer. This one did not disappoint me. I am a Guinness fan, but 99% of the pubs stores their kegs next to the others beers. To me that is a no-no. I am not interested in drinking frozen beers which kill my taste buds. But then I heard the owner prefers the drink at a warmer level. Here, they actually store the keg in a different location. The pour allowed me to sip the black stuff within a minutes time after it settled. Wow I'm impressed. As for the place, it is a bit more pricey than the burbs, but not astronomical as some may think. Here is the QR Code if someone wants to check the cost. Thanks for reading.

I would give A-List beauty no stars if I could. I hired them for hair and makeup for my wedding…read more The trial could not have gone worse. It. Was. A. Joke. A lot of these places have you pay a significant amount of money to do a trial (like $500) because it creates a psychological motivation to continue to do business with them (the sunk cost fallacy). Ladies do not be victim to this- even if you paid $500 and the trial goes poorly, do not give them more money! I paid the non refundable deposit to Ariel Lewis, and gladly paid another company $1,500 just to not look (and more importantly FEEL) like I did after my trial with A-List. The other company was professional, kind, used actual beauty products (see below), let me watch what they were doing, and were friendly. Find a company that works with you for your big day. Not works you for the paycheck. Hopefully this will save you the $500 trial with A-List: Let's start with hair. The biggest red flag was that she wouldn't let me watch while she was doing my hair so that I could be "surprised" - I was surprised all right. She admitted to me she had not looked at the inspo pics they asked me to send in, and asked to see them. She looked at the first one and said "K I got it." She didn't have it, because what was created was a departure from my looks. It wasn't a terrible style if it had been done well. I mentioned concern about the longevity of the look day of, and she said confidently it would last even though I could feel the pins slipping. I said repeatedly my hair texture is fine and doesn't hold curl. She said "Not the way I curl" and then put wax in it to "help." Everyone with fine hair knows wax weighs it down. It did not last. Not even through 90 min minutes of sitting still and getting makeup done (much less a whole wedding...). My trial was done at 11:30am and by 1:30pm my hair had fallen out of the bun into the two sad looped pony tails she had used to create the look, and was in straight tendrils around my face. Not a curl in sight. Even the initial finished looked was frizzy and you could obviously see pins. The best part was that the A-List makeup trial was after hair and she came in and asked "what time my hair trial was?" hahah. "Oh you couldn't tell it just happened? Your teammate just gave me an updo, obviously!" Lol Next was makeup. Ladies. They used E.L.F products. Correct- the products you buy for your nieces and occasionally find at the dollar store. I get it, this isn't the main event, it's just the trial so maybe they use different products day of? If so, that negates the purpose of the trial... I want to have my shades matched and confirmed which is part of the trial one would think. I paid for airbrush makeup- she did zero prep the skin. She pulled the machine out and started spraying- didn't even pin my face framing hair pieces back so there was a distinct line not blended around my face where my hair had been. The airbrush went on cakey and flakey and actually aged me about 10 years. It's not for every skin type so that's part of it, but at least try and prep the skin. I sent Hailey Bieber natural dewey inspo and she did old church lady rosy pink cheeks I am not kidding. Bright. Pink. And round. I looked like a toy soldier, even after I asked her to keep blending. The whole thing was a joke. It also didn't last despite paying for airbrush- which I was grateful for because I would not have gone out looking like that. When I reached out to Ariel Lewis to tell them I would not be using them for my wedding and talk about how disappointed I was, I was intercepted by an admin. Interestingly, I didn't ask for a refund but the very first thing the admin said when I said I wouldn't be moving forward was that I wouldn't get a refund. This exchange told me a lot about how they do business and their priorities. I asked to speak to Ariel to provide feedback. I never heard from her. Guess it's on me to keep reaching out? I was then told I could do the trial again with the same artists. Nah I'm good... If it were my business with my name on it- I would be embarrassed by this. Pics below of hair. I didn't want my face out there on the internet so I didn't post makeup. So- ladies, save yourself the money with A-List. Unless you want a good laugh- My Maid of Honor was there and we still get out the "after" pictures so we can have a good chuckle over wine. I hope this saves another bride the stress and money I wasted on the A-List.

Very POOR Customer Service. Extremely POOR communication. Why does a company refuse to list itself…read moreon Google? So they can avoid all the negative reviews. So it's not a surprise that A-List has no Google listing and minimal reviews available... do the math. It doesn't add up to a reliable and professionally behaving company.
