Oh my goodness the BBQ is awesome here seriously the Turkey is always so juicy and flavorful with the perfect seasoning, the sausage is excellent, I am not a big brisket fan and I had a taste and I was shocked it was the best brisket I've ever had it was super moist. The sides are awesome the Mac & Cheese is super creamy and cheesy, my potato salad is so good and my husband said his baked beans were great. I love Killen's, this is my 4th time in Texas & my 2nd location I have tried! I love that the service here is way faster than the restaurant style. Not worth the money or the hype. Corkscrew blows this place out of the water, hands down. The only thing that was impressive was the size of the beef ribs but they were mostly fat. They were great to add to slow cooked beans at home. Everything else was dry and not very flavorful compared other popular places around town. I know Killens has an amazing reputation but maybe this location just doesn't hold up to the original? Place was packed, almost zero parking available. Friendly service. The service was amazing we were given suggestions the staff were super friendly and made us feel like family and very welcoming to us. Not on the same level as the Pearland location concerning food quality & ambience. This Killen's looks like a refurbished Dairy Queen & doesn't carry the same "Texas BBQ" vibe. Also, food quality was way lower -- most of my brisket & sausage was dried out, so I suspect it had been reheated & wasn't fresh. The biggest disappointment was their burnt ends -- they were super chewy, barely warm, & unpleasant tasting. Burnt ends are chewy when they haven't had enough cook time. Staff was nice & friendly & service was fast, but my bbq experience at this Killen's location was severely lacking. Probably wont be back until I hear it has improved. read more

I am a huge fan of Ronnie Killen's bbq and what he's doing with his barbecue. I've been going to the location in Pearland for many years. I recently found they now have a location close to Conroe. I was able to cater some barbecue over to my clients and they absolutely loved it. I loved it too. When it comes to quality barbecue this is top notch. Food: I got moist brisket which was simply amazing. How do you get to try any of the other meats because all I ordered was the one we played this time. Next time I will try the sausage and ribs. The sides were good as well. If I remember correctly I got beans and potato salad. Or actually no it was macaroni and cheese. That was really good. The good thing about this location is you can get in and out pretty quickly. I didn't notice an extremely long line or anything like that. They also have a drive-through for to go orders. It ain't the Pearland location but it's a good smoked meat palace. Brisket was perfect and was signature Killens. Was not able to compare the beef rib on my visit and was regulated to pork. They were big and tender per usual but a little too salty this time around. Sides again had some Pearland consistency awards, the Mac and cheese good, the Brussels sprouts all had the Broadway street magic. However somebody dropped the shaker in the green beans and that was inedible. Overall good experience and is a closer alternative to corkscrew and tejas chocolate. read more

This was the first time trying killens barbecue in the Woodlands. I was a little hesitant because I didn't think it would be as good as the killens in Pearland. I'm very upset because I love Killen's BBQ from a food standpoint. They have some of the best BBQ in Houston. However, running out of food an hour and a half before closing on a Saturday, and then use Valentine's Day (4 days before I was there) as an excuse is ridiculous. I think this location ships in the food from a main location. This location is in an old fast food restaurant so I doubt they smoke anything here. They have a pickup window as well. We decided to dine in. We were actually pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious and flavorful. The price point was kind of on the high end but what isn't these days. The portions are large. We could've easily ordered the three meat dinner and purchased additional sides to save money but we didn't. Hubby had the one meat dinner with two sides. I had the 2 meat dinner that came with 2 sides. We both got fountain drinks and a slice of pecan pie. The total was approximately $63. I feel the pie was a bit overpriced but it was good. We should have asked them to warm it up for us. The brisket has a very good bark with plenty of flavor. Very tender and minimal fat. The turkey was juicy but could have had a bit more seasoning. So glad Killen's decided to bring their barbecue to The Woodlands! I was craving BEEF ribs, which is hard to find around here, and Killen's kills it! The beef ribs were sooooo tender and delicious! My sister enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich, my niece loved her beef ribs, as well, and my friend raved about the chicken. The area of opportunity we agreed on is in seasoning... we needed to add salt to most of our sides. We tried the greens, Mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, corn, and the ginormous onion rings. We've been to Killen's in the The Woodlands a few times, so time to write a review. Yesterday I had the brisket plate and she had a chopped beef sandwich. Absent the impressive bark on the brisket, I could cut it with a fork, it was great. The leaner cuts they used on her sandwich were just right too, not too greasy. The collard greens were the best I've ever had, so good that she ate half my side, and she never eats greens. We got there around 11:15 and there was no line, no line at 11:45 either. We are truly blessed to have such great BBQ right here at home, no drive, no lines, no weird fusion nonsense going on, just great BBQ. Oh, and buckets of fried chicken for $20 too. read more

The staff was friendly and attentive, the place clean and bright and, well THE REASON for coming - the barbecue -- was great! I had brisket, pork ribs and pulled pork - sides were the Collard Greens and Cream Corn. My only regret was that my stomach was not big enough to fit all this deliciousness in! The Coffee sauce sounded a little different; and it was, but in a GOOD way. The Tangy and Sweet sauces were also great - I could not decide which one I liked the most and so used all three on each of the meats. I am sitting here now looking at desserts. I called and asked if I could come in and get it and they said no you have to go through the drive-thru. When you go inside, you are told you have to go through drive-thru also. For the price I paid the food was unsatisfactory the one beef rib I got was burnt and hardly any meat on it, the slaw was bitter. Service was fair he seemed a little bothered . This has to be one of the top barbecue places in Houston. Killen's is consistently good. I had the two meat plate with lean brisket, sausage, collard greens, and Brussels sprouts.
