I love a matcha shop!!! Super packed but quick service. Saw some people doing work and some chatting with friends. There appears to be outlets and free WiFi. They have classic matcha lattes and great fruity flavor combinations and seems very authentic!
Went in with high expectations, but it was just alright. The staff was friendly and made our drinks pretty quick. The interior was cute, perfect for working or catching up with a friend. The azuki matcha was a dud. It was missing the earthiness and sweetness of the azuki bean. Instead, it just tasted like chunky matcha. The black sesame latte was sweeter than expected. It was still pretty good, but I just feel like I would've gotten sick had I finished the whole thing. I would probably just try the strawberry matcha latte next time.
Friend recommended this place! I ordered the strawberry matcha, bc staff said that was a must try/ most popular, and friend ordered the hojicha latte. I haven't had enough strawberry matchas in my life, but this was indeed a very delicious strawberry matcha. The matcha flavor is there and the strawberry jam is sweet and not overly thick. I think the drink itself was rlly good, but ive def had stronger matchas. I took a sip of the hojicha and it was also rlly good and refreshing. You can def taste the hojicha flavor! The store is quite small and can get super packed and busy, but there are some seats to sit at! Staff were super friendly!! If it's within vicinity of wherever im at, id def stop to get a drink again.
I came here today to experience local matcha from Kijitora, a local matcha place that was all about cats! Everything was cat They had a lot of merchandise dedicated to cats! The tote bags were so cute but they were kind of pricey in my opinion. A standard beige Kijitora bag was priced for $30 each! They had several designs for sale. I was just busy checking out the cool cat merchandise while I was waiting in the long line to purchase the matcha drinks. The line was exceptionally long! It was worth the hype though! When I was my turn, I got an iced strawberry matcha latte and an iced mango matcha latte. It was so pretty when I got them. The mango and strawberry paste were sitting at the bottom of the matcha latte. I had to stir and mix the fruits with the whole drink. Surprisingly it was not sweet at all and was just right! They made it in a way that wanted you to crave more of it. It was very addicting. I did not get onigiris this time but will be sure to get some next time I'm here. They were just $4 each for miso salmon, tuna mayo, mentaiko cod roe, sukiyaki beef, and chashu pork. What a decent price for one onigiri! I would definitely be sure to get the miso salmon next time I'm here. The place was very cute with nice little tables for individuals. The place was very cozy with lots of sunlight coming in. Very modern with plants all around. It was so loud with people talking over each other. There were too many people on a Sunday afternoon so I had to walk around or cut through people to get my way. It was that crowded. I also didn't expect this place to be on the second floor and the stairs to be that steep. It was hectic carrying my stroller upstairs. Luckily someone helped me get down! The stairs are very narrow so I had to hold onto the rail. It was not ergonomically friendly at all.
RATING: 4.5/5 | Came on a Saturday late afternoon and it was busy! The line moves, thankfully. It's relatively spacious for a cafe, but there's minimal seating. There is some counter space, but mainly for standing purposes. I ordered a standard Iced Matcha Latte with Oat Milk ($7.35) and my friend got her usual Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte ($8). Docking 1/2 point bc the matcha is pre-made. I'm a fan of the whisking process bc I do believe there's a craft to matcha overall. Surprisingly, my drink tasted fine and my bev was a good color, so I was pleasantly happy. We waited less than 10 min for a table to open up, but you have to be there at the right time, otherwise you prob just grab your drink + go. Overall, glad I tried Kijitora. It's not my first matcha choice, but it was decent for a standard matcha latte. Their specialty matcha drinks look to have mixed reviews, but I'm personally not a fan of sweet drinks.
Very yummy matcha. Store is super small though. And it's kind of disorganized in there when you wait for your order. Wish they would just call out the numbers on the receipt they give you. Matcha was pretty good but was not amazing.
Stumbled onto this café while walking around the neighborhood with my wife. At 3 in the afternoon, on a Saturday- it was packed. The line is what drew our curiosity. It was rather warm today, so an Iced anything sounded great. The café is tucked away in the middle of the block. The line moves fast and the staff is efficient pumping our orders without having the cafe get overly crowded. I got the iced strawberry match latte. The strawberry was a nice sweetener to the match. It blended well with the earthyness of the match. The latter was overall a nice refreshing drink. Dont expect to sit. Go in, know what you want, and keep it moving. On the day like today, with the crowd, you can't expect to peruse though the little café. They had some cute cat merch. As I glanced quickly while people piled up behind me before I made my order.
10/10 best match i had in NYC! There was so much strawberry and it was sweet and fresh, i loved it!
Really cute cafe! The baristas were super sweet and quick to make the drinks. I ordered an iced strawberry matcha with soy milk (i believe they have almond, oat, and soy as alt. milks), and 2 black pour over coffees. The matcha was so flavorful and not overly sweet. So creamy and such a nice fresh strawberry purée was used at the bottom of the cup. The pour over coffee had such a robust flavor without being too bitter. Definitely one of my favorite roasts i've tried. I'll be back to try the Kuwacha Latte.
Store was packed when I arrived, it was on a Saturday around 3:30pm-ish. There were a bench and couple of tables and chairs. I ordered iced azuki red bean matcha latte with oat milk. The top of the drink was pretty cute! Honestly, I couldn't really taste the matcha because the taste was over powered by the red bean. Overall the drink is not bad if you like red bean! We were hoping to sit down a bit to enjoy the drink for a while but all the seats were already occupied. We were almost finished with our drinks by the time we got seats. Right now they have a hello kitty collab, they also sell stickers, mini blind boxes figures and other merch.
Are you serious this store is sooo freaking cute. Their matcha drinks are sooo good I really love the red bean with matcha ( it was so rich and yummy whoever thought of this is a genius) get a drink here and walk around the cute neighborhood
Very small but very cute coffee and matcha shop, tucked away in a spot that's easy to walk past if you're not looking for it. What I loved right away was that they sell fun merchandise like stickers and also feature work from local artists. It makes the place feel more community-driven, and you get the sense that it's about more than just drinks. I went on a gloomy morning and ordered an iced matcha latte with vanilla and whole milk, while my friend ordered an iced strawberry matcha latte with oat milk. Both drinks looked beautiful -- the colors were vibrant and layered, and visually they definitely gave the impression of high-quality matcha. Unfortunately, taste-wise, we were both underwhelmed. My drink tasted mostly like vanilla milk with no noticeable matcha flavor coming through. My friend's drink was the same situation -- it was basically strawberry milk. Now, in the bigger picture, that's not a bad flavor to drink, but when you're specifically ordering matcha lattes, you expect the matcha to be the star. It's possible other drinks on the menu might deliver better balance, but at least for these two, it missed the mark. Even so, I do like that this shop is small, local, and creative with their café space. Supporting local businesses -- especially ones that support artists -- is always a plus in my book. I'd come back to browse their merchandise or maybe try a different drink, but I wouldn't get another matcha here.
Really good quality matcha! There was quite a line when we arrived at Kijitora on the weekend, but it moved rather quickly. The matcha here is amazing and top tier quality. I ordered a Matcha Latte with oatmilk, unsweetened. I definitely should've opted for a sweetener because that's my personal preference, but even without it, the matcha was really good. If I could go back, I'd probably order the Strawberry Matcha Latte instead. I also tried the Dirty Black Sesame Latte with white chocolate which was fantastic! And I tried the Miso Mocha which was not so great. In theory, this drink sounded so good. Unfortunately, the drink was not balanced and the miso was so strong that the drink tasted way too savory. If the balance was better and the drink had more mocha and sweetness (and much less miso), I think this could've been way more enjoyable. My friend described it as drinking cold miso soup. Two hits and one miss! Overall, really good matcha.

I came recently on a weekend with some friends. The store is fairly packed with very limited seating, so don't expect to chill at the cafe for long. Service is fairly fast! I got the Matcha Peach Fizz, and was honestly a bit disappointed. The matcha flavor wasn't super strong, and was almost an after-tone. The drink was pretty overwhelmingly sparkling juice, which isn't what I'm quite looking for. I also tried the matcha latte, and similarly, it's pretty dominated by the milk flavor. The matcha here isn't the strongest, which could certainly be a preference! Personally won't be back with other great matcha places around! read more

Was disappointed considering I heard so much about this cafe. Got there and there was a line out the door and waited probably about 20 minutes. Workers were really nice and were working hard to get through the line! However, my Strawberry Matcha w almond milk was ok....I found that it tasted more like almond milk than anything. Maybe they didn't put enough matcha in my drink? Even their strawberry flavor tasted very artificial. Maybe I just went on an off day. Price was also very high. Not sure if I'd revisit. read more

I came on a late Sunday afternoon and it was very busy. There are no tables inside but a few outside. Loved the cat theme inside and you can buy cat stickers and cards. My friends and I ordered Sakura Matcha Latte $6.75 with soy milk (extra $0.75), Lavender Milk Tea $4.50 with almond milk (extra $0.75) and Sakura Milk Tea $5.25. They were all so good but my favorite was the sakura matcha latte which was rich and creamy. Make sure to mix the syrup at the bottom of the lavender milk tea before drinking. Sakura milk tea was a bit sweet for me. Would come back to try their black sesame latte read more

One of the best matcha lattes in the city! I come here frequently and highly recommend the strawberry matcha lattes and also their hot matcha latte is really good too. The Driggs Ave location doesn't have seating but the East Williamsburg one does (although it gets pretty busy, so I wouldn't bank on getting a spot to sit unless you come early). read more

Has great matcha drinks! I wanted to grab a drink with some friends and saw this nearby. It's a very cute small spot with drinks and small bites. We had the tiramisu latte and the strawberry matcha. The tiramisu latter was very good not too sweet it was just right. The strawberry matcha was really nice too. Definitely recommend trying it out! read more

A small cafe tucked next to a clothing store! We passed by looking for a cafe and all the cute cat artwork and knick knacks drew us in! We came on a rainy day, so the only seating was inside - it's a SMALL cafe so only 3 tables and a bench, and it gets busy quickly! Baristas were super nice and made our drinks pretty quickly! I went with the lavender milk tea and asked for it to be iced, which they accommodated! They also asked if I had any milk preferences! I loved my drink, as it had the perfect lavender infusion to it, and was a sweet pick-me-up for a late afternoon. There are tons of other interesting flavors on the menu to try out! read more
This cafe serves the BEST frothed latte! I saw this place on tiktok and decided to stop by since I was in the area. The coffee shop shares the space next to a clothing store. I tried both the hojicha and matcha latte on two separate occasions and both were really good. The sweetness can be adjusted upon request. The small cafe is cat themed and it was fun to spot the mini cat figurines throughout the store. read more

I hate to say it but it's kinda overhyped went on a sweltering day near closing and it was super cute and small inside. The matcha wasn't anything mind blowing and the black sesame drink was too sweet for my liking. Will I go back maybe I'm delusional maybe it'll be better on a not hot day read more

stumbled upon this place while walking to L'Industrie and couldn't be happier! this is a cute Japanese cafe located next to a clothing store. the cafe has lots of cute cat motifs and it just felt like an oasis. i was debating between the iced hoji latte and the iced black sesame latte for the longest time and went with the former. you can get it sweetened or unsweetened and i got mine lightly sweetened. it was the right amount of sweetness and played really well with the toasty hojicha. awesome drink and will stop by again if i'm in the area! read more

Stumbled unto this place by accident, was in the Williamsburg area looking for a cafe and I found this one! Though the space was really small it was paced with cute knickknacks and tote bags. Ordered a mizudashi & lavender milk tea the mizudashi wasn't the best but the Lavender milk tea was absolutely perfect! The best was very friendly and if I get the chance I will come again! read more

Small cafe next to a clothing shop. Very tight space and no seating available except a bench outside which will always be taken I feel. To my surprise I quite liked the iced matcha latte with strawberry syrup. And the black sesame wasn't bad either. We got our drinks pretty fast despite the long line. But not super personable since it was so busy. read more

saw the strawberry matcha latte all over social media so had to give it a try and it is well worth the hype! amazing matcha flavor and the strawberry puree is really good. only downside is the price i'll have to pay because i'll definitely be back for this again read more
Okay after some time ordering from them, the matcha is a huge miss. It just tastes very bland and weak. Also I will no longer be ordering the strawberry matcha because if you order it with whole milk which I prefer, they use a really cheap deli milk brand which is not okay considering you are paying a premium price and that should reflect it. read more

The original place that we wanted to go for Matcha said it was open, but it wasn't open so we had to find a new place to get our daily Matcha fixed here in Williamsburg, New York. it was a short walk around the corner to coat of arms Cafe by Kijitora. I got the Matcha latte with strawberry and juju got a straight Matcha latte both with oat milk and we really enjoyed it and now I see a woman walking out with a coffee and I wish I got a coffee too. read more

I LOVED the strawberry matcha and crave it every day. The strawberry milk does not have that artificial jammy or syrupy flavor. It tasted like fresh strawberries, slightly sweet with a hint of tartness, which paired so well with the earthy matcha. Their normal lattes are also tasty since the matcha is good quality, but I have never had a strawberry matcha this good. The shop is also so cute! read more

By far the best matcha latte I've had in the states. I had the strawberry iced matcha latte and when I took a sip I actually gasped. As someone that was visiting NY, I cried not knowing I'd be in close proximity to this place. I would literally fly back JUST for this matcha. It had the right amount of sweetness, the strawberry was not overpowering imo, and it was creamy. Price wise it's on the higher end, but I don't care it's so good. read more

another overhyped matcha spot- reminiscent of the hype cha cha matcha received but fails to deliver on flavor. it's not the worst matcha i've ever had however i do not think it's worth all the hype it's been getting quite pricey- $16 for 2 matchas small storefront and there was a line (bc it's so hyped) not a sit down place, so expect to grab and go idk why i was expecting decent matcha when nyc fails to have tasty matcha anywhere read more
