My son had a blast with his friends and family to celebrate a couple of days early, his 5th Birthday! Party started at 11AM which turned out perfect because the place didn't crowd out into Chucky Cheese loco mode until after 1230 1PM. Plenty to do for the kids and the party rooms are a good size for cake time and photos. PLEASE NOTE: ALL CASH AFFAIR... If you are planning a party reservation for your little one make sure to bring the green. Overall, Parents seemed happy and enjoyed their pizza, and kids their tokens and Birthday cake. Nice to see all the kids run around happy in a Sunday Birthday indoor fun zone in Brooklyn. Wife and Birthday Boy happy means Two Thumbs Up

Even the employee is disappointed with this place!

Thought I previously reviewed this place when I came for my second, and final time back in 2014. I was here as a teenager for my cousins birthday, which was quite some ago. I returned when I saw a Groupon; we brought our daughter here and the place was basically a disaster. The place looks very run down, outdated, and just not a place you want to take your child. Basically, if you're in Brooklyn, and have absolutely nowhere else to go and need a place to go but don't want to spend much money, come here. However, if you're looking for a pleasurable place that looks sanitary, has working equipment and want decent food, this isn't your place. I really wish I could say something positive about this place because when I came as a teenager, I had fun; but things have changed for the worst!

We spent all day at Kids N Action. It's the perfect place to spend on a rainy day or on a day when it's too hot to be outside.

Perhaps it's because of the sheer size of the mall or perhaps people were busy celebrating Mother's Day elsewhere, but it wasn't as busy or crowded as I would've expected. Although the food court wasn't packed, the wait for Jollibee was insane (probably a 25-35 minute wait). It was worth it though, I hope more malls in the U.S. have Jollibee. After eating, I explored the mall a bit. American Dream has a NHL-reuglate size ice skating rink (entrance is on the first floor, where you can also get the tickets). But what's wilder is the ski and snowboard resort - the first indoor snow resort in North America. I didn't go in but I could feel the chilliness from the condensation on the windows. There's also an NJ Hall of Fame, laser tag, Sesame Street Learn & Play, and Nickelodeon Universe inside. You can enter Nickelodeon Universe (no tickets needed) but you need to buy points to go on the rides. Even if you don't go on the rides, there are plenty of photo ops. I saw Spongebob and Squiward taking photos on a stage. Other cool things about American Dream: A ferris wheel called American Dream that allows you to see the NYC skyline, a Toys "R" Us train that goes around on one floor, and HMart. There is a fancier part of American Dream with high-end stores, too. I didn't come here for shopping though. Plenty of spots in the parking garage and it's $6 for each vehicle, though the first 15 minutes are free.

1 star - More Nightmare Than Dream…read more (But giving a 3 star since what was actually open was fun.) Took my daughter to American Dream Mall for her birthday weekend, expecting water slides and celebration shakes. What we got was a masterclass in disappointment. The water park was closed for electrical work. Fine -- things happen. So we headed to the shake shop to salvage the birthday with one of their fancy cake-topped frappés. Also closed. At this point the "dream" branding was starting to feel like false advertising. The hotel situation wasn't any better, not that the mall can be blamed for this. But fair warning to others who traveled as far as we did for this magical weekend. Pool closed for the entire weekend -- not for a quick cleaning, but pending state inspection results that could take "days to weeks." Called around to other hotels thinking we'd just move. Same story everywhere. Apparently post-Memorial Day weekend triggers mandatory state testing after high guest volume, and every pool in the area was in limbo. Nobody mentioned this when we booked. Back at the mall, the game room -- where the closed shake shop lives -- lost power entirely. And if that weren't enough, the fire alarm spent a good chunk of the afternoon flashing and blaring "there is a fire in the building, evacuate immediately" on repeat. Not once. Multiple times. So to recap: no water park, no birthday shake, no hotel pool, no game room, and a fire alarm that cried wolf so often we genuinely weren't sure whether to panic or just keep walking. Happy birthday, kid. At least the parking lot was open.

When we arrived, everything was up and running as if it were daytime. All the games, rides and attractions were in service. I rode Go Karts for the first time in yearrrs and I actually came in first place. Me! That was dope. The BIG FUN though was all the water rides. Lazy River, pool tubing and the main pool were all open and full of people ready for a great time. We were treated to a DJ who understood the crowd assignment and shoutout to the most wonderful staff. All employees on this night were in a great mood and they gave party vibes too. The promoters didn't over sell this event, so crowds and lines weren't a problem at all. I had such a blast that I wasn't even mad about getting my phone wet. I'm looking forward to going back to The Funplex for another After Dark night out. I thought they were gonna shortchange us but that didn't happen. We were given the whole experience. Good stuff!

We went on a weekday during spring break. We came for a 7 year old friend's birthday. My daughter and the birthday girl had a blast playing all the things. I recently went to a birthday party in January on one of the coldest days of the year. I honestly didn't get to enjoy it because the party room was unbearably freezing. They had the unit that blew out a b out of warm air but not enough to make the room warm. All of the guests had to be wear their jackets the whole time. We told the workers several times that it was freezing but nothing was ever fixed. I would warn parents to be mindful that if you are throwing a party in the winter, you might have a very cold room. I will return in the summer to see how the AC is and if it is comfortable.

The area has a lot in its space which is hard to tell from just the street. The all access pass covers all the harness activities. The light pass excludes the harness activities. The arcade and roller blading is additional cost. The facility has lockers for free as long as you bring your own lock. If you don't have a lock, you can purchase one from the vending machine. At this time of this review it was priced at $8 a lock. The adventure course above was very interesting. After being harnessed in by staff you walk up the stairs to the course. There are several directions you can take which has challenging ways to walk to and from each platform. The highlight of this course is the zip line part. They have a safety light to indicate to the users when to wait and when to go. There are also three sections for rock climbing. In the other side there is a slide section with 7 areas to slide down. The staff member provides the slide sack and directs you how to use it before you head up. There is also a section upstairs that is for toddlers to play in. Also two additional swirl slides where you can access there. Overall we had fun. The price can be a little high for some, so best to try to see if they have any promotions.

Coney Island was almost one hour ride away from Brooklyn via the subway (Q Line dropped me off…read moreright near the entrance) so I decided last minute to head out there since I've never seen it. We have the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk back home but Coney Island dwarfed it. For a Friday, the 2 amusement parks were busy with lots of kids and parent chaperones wearing the same t-shirts. I wasn't here to ride the rides but to wander and take it all in. Ticket prices varied per ride (little kids cheaper than the more thrilling ones for older kids/adults. All day wrist bands also were offered and maybe a better deal if staying a few hours or hitting the big rides. Lots of food options available in and around the parks. The most recognizable one for me was Nathan's Hot Dogs which actually served seafood, burgers and more besides their famous namesake hot dogs. The wooden boardwalk was in good condition and wide. It extended all the way down to the aquarium and Brighton Beach.. lots of benches to sit or sun yourself. Bathrooms were located near the beach but interestingly elevated above. Nice design from the outside but a little cleaner than your typical public bathrooms since there were staff busy cleaning when I popped in. The beaches wasn't as busy as the park and even less people were in the water. Overall fairly clean that day. Lifeguards were on duty, FDNY zipped by in a unique ATV style ambulance and later a patrol showing a good attention to safety and quick response. I'm glad I was able to finally see Coney Island in person. It should have enough options to entertain, thrill or just let you relax.

Geared towards the younger crowd, adults can partake in the play which was pretty cool. There was enough excitement from the various obstacles to provide a thrill, old and young alike. This was definitely the highlight of the entertainment center. Safety wasn't an issue and there was enough supervision even with the additional risks. There are many arcade games but 1/3 of the games seemed to be out of order for my trip. Not sure if that is because of the package my group paid for. Honestly most of the games were stale. The bumper cars were of the kiddie variety and used levers for movement instead of a steering wheel so it was a little less bump which takes away some of the fun. The overall drive space was smaller so the bumps were more like nudges. The scary 3D movie experience also didn't provide the thrill I was expecting. The aroma of buttery popcorn is very prevalent everywhere in the center, so much so that I swear it's on purpose to make you buy popcorn. The pizza was not impressive but I suppose standard for the course. During my visit the wait for the concession lines were really long. The floors were well cleaned and maintained which is a nice change from the normal food stained floors of most kiddie entertainment centers.
