Unlike traditional carousels SeaGlass doesn't have a center pole. The four turntables are driven by electric motors which is quite unique and pretty cool! There are 30 massive fiberglass fish, each are custom designed. The LED's are color changing! A water effect is created with light projectors! Some of the fish at the Carousel are inspired by Angelfish Threadfin Butterfly fish Regal Angelfish Orange-Spot Wrasse Betta Clearfin Lionfish and so much more! Current hours for June, July, and August are 9:00 A.M - 9:00 P.M. You can check the SeaGlass website for subway, bus, driving, and walking directions to the SeaGlass Carousel. Tickets are $6.00 per person. If you buy group tickets for 10, you can get special pricing for $55.00. You can purchase the tickets on site at the SeaGlass Carousel. This is such a fun experience. I highly recommend it if you're in the Financial district to stop by! It's a quick walk to The Battery and afterwards you can explore the park area! There is a nearby playground as well!

Our toddler Leo B. rode a carousel in Sacramento back in March, just before his second birthday,…read moreand he loved it so much he threw a fit when it was over, and the brief ride became one of his most salient memories. He talked about it all the time and asked to see "carousel pictures" over and over, and then we went home to L.A., where the one time we tried to drive to find a carousel, the damn thing was out of operation and we had to hide it from his view. So when we spent a week within a couple blocks of Bryant Park, we were thrilled to discover Le Carrousel at the beginning of our stay. Tickets cost $4 each or $20 for ten, and I decided we could manage ten rides over the next five days. I gave away a couple of rides, but we did use eight, so that was $20 well spent. Le Carrousel is in the thick of Bryant Park, not a huge one, but plenty big enough to impress small children. There was a cute little ticket booth, where I bought a punch card that I was able to redeem for tokens throughout the week (not sure why this extra step was necessary, but the gold tokens had their own charm, I suppose). The carousel was always staffed by one or two people who dealt with tickets and watched to make sure that children were attended and strapped in and that nothing went wrong during the rides. They were, as a group, friendly and efficient. The carousel didn't get busy during the week, so Leo got his pick of horses and was able to stay on for consecutive rides. There was more of a crowd on the Saturday, when we were using up his last tokens. Another parent asked us to move him off his favored horse so her kids could ride next to each other, and we obliged, only for Leo to become upset and for another full-on five-year-old to throw a loud tantrum and demand the same apparently very attractive horse. The mom who had us move then gave up the horse for this older child, and I wish everyone involved some minor indignity or discomfort for this nonsense, making my baby cry so a brat who should know better could have his way. Anyway, you can't always get what you want, and mostly, Leo did get what he wanted, which was near-daily carousel rides for an entire week. If you have a little one who loves a merry-go-round, I'd highly recommend frequent visits to Bryant Park.

I remember my reaction "so instead of buying me a drink, you are paying for me to ride on a carrousel?" What he said afterward stuck with me. " No matter what age you turn, always be a kid at heart." Their website says they're open Friday to Sunday, and there's no update on their Facebook page, but they are open! The carousel is the main draw obviously. When we went (early May 2021) there were a few other rides open, but not all. There was no line at all for any of the rides, and the staff were mostly nice. We were told to keep our masks on at all times, and there was hand sanitizer everywhere.

It has been deemed a historic national site, as the initial carousel was built in 1903, only to be rebuilt in 1966 after a fire. It now sits in Woodhaven, Queens, restored to its former glory and awaiting children from all the borough and beyond. One wouldn't think the NY Carousel would be an underrated family activity given its history, but too many folks are unaware that it exists even now. The city has taken great steps to ensure its longevity and anyone looking for kid friendly activity or a little nostalgia has come to the right place. While it is a short ride in the natural beauty of the park, the surrounding space makes it an ideal getaway for families who want to book the space for gatherings of whatever kind. The Carousel itself is the main attraction of course, though there are other rides for kids that range from a train ride to a recently added mini ferris wheel dubbed the "Woodhaven Wheel." Ticket costs for the rides vary, but the last time I checked it was $35 for a 10-pack (i.e. $3.50 a ticket). While there are some small carnival games and story telling sessions, this is not a substitute for any major carnival / amusement park on a bigger scale in any way. Think of this as a place to kill a couple of hours with the young ones. I'd recommend bringing food in and avoiding their options (think hot dogs, small packs of chips, etc.) if at all possible. They've closed this section of the park for the rest of 2020, but I sense that in 2021 that they'll take great measures to ensure everything is safe for youngins / carefree adults to partake.

El costo fue de cuatro dólares por persona, tanto para niños como para adultos. Terminamos subiéndonos dos veces porque a los niños les encantó. We had entertainers come and they had room to set up and put on their shows as well. They park provides 6 rectangular tables for guests to sit at as well as 3 other tables that could be used to food, gifts, favors..etc. The carousel operator ( I wish I would have remembered her name) was amazing- she was so kind and attentive and even gave the baby a t shirt! The staff working at the concession was also so helpful in letting us unload the food and drinks prior to the party start time. A special thank you to Emily who really went above and beyond to make sure everything went right. The weather was perfect too and it helps that the entire carousel section is covered so even if its hot outside, it was nice and shaded. Our guests were raving about this party for many days afterwards. We even had many native Staten Islanders who had come there for the first time. They will definitely be returning. I want to have every party there from now on. Thank you again to the staff, Do not hesitate to throw a party here because you well get your moneys worth and the experience will surely be a positive one.

Fantasy Forest Amusement Park is a modest amusement park that opened in Queens, New York in May…read more2013. It is located within Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. The focal point of the amusement park is the historic Flushing Meadows Carousel. It contains four rows of figures, including 64 jumping horses, 7 standing horses, a lion, and 2 chariots. It was created to serve patrons of the 1964 New York World's Fair by combining two earlier carousels, both of which were carved in Coney Island in the first decade of the twentieth century by renowned carver Marcus Illions. The two historic carousels used for its construction were the Feltman's Carousel (1903) and the Stubbman Carousel (1908). While the 1964 World's Fair was going on, the carousel was located in the Lake Amusement Area. In 1968, the carousel was moved to its current spot which is adjacent to the Queens Zoo. In 2012, NY Carousel Entertainment was awarded the contract to operate the Flushing Meadows Carousel. The company made cosmetic repairs to the machine, repainting it, sanding and staining the historic wooden floor, and adding new fencing to the entire area. The following year, Fantasy Forest Amusement Park opened. The carousel was joined by additional rides which include the Corona Choo Choo, the Twirling Teacups, the Bouncy Baja Buggies, the Corona Cobra Coaster, and the Queens Motor Speedway. My family and I recently visited Fantasy Forest Amusement Park while we were spending the day at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. We spent the morning at the Queens Zoo and the small amusement park is conveniently located next to it. Although there aren't many rides at Fantasy Forest, the ones that they do have are very fun. We told our sons that they could pick any two rides to go on. First, they both accompanied me on the Queens Motor Speedway. My sons liked how the cars quickly zip around the corner during each course rotation. Afterwards they both accompanied my wife on the beautiful carousel. Overall we had a fun visit the Fantasy Forest and we hope to stop again on a future visit to Flushing Meadows-Corona Park!

There…read moreare so many locations to visit, with far lass travel time, traffic and parking conundrums, than heading into the Manhattan. During one of our homeschool field trip, we took our Little to historic Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, which is in close proximity to a few venues. This visit was to the Queens Zoo. On the way to the entrance, we passed by Fantasy Forest, and of course the kiddo begged to go. After our zoo experience, we headed right one over. It was still early so the lines were still manageable. I would suggest getting a few more tickets than you think you might need to avoid having to replenish because we literally needed two tickets and by that time, the lines was ridiculously long. This is a cute little permanent carnival fixture. They have a couple of covered, shady spaces that you can rent, for parties. I could definitely see hosting a small gathering for a kid's birthday. I would bring my own food, something easy, like pizzas, juice and cupcakes, to make life easiest. The ice-cream truck parks itself right outside so that's also an idea for treats after a party. Fantasy Forest has plenty of kid-friendly rides, many that parents can go on as well. It has been some time since we took ours to a place where she could go on rides. She was so psyched. Because of her size at the time, we had to accompany her on all the rides which was fun. On the carousel, they may or may not charge the adult a ticket also. I was able to ride next to her the first time and then when my husband went on with her, they made him stand up next to her for the ride. It was weird...same kid, same ride, same operator, different parent. Hubby ended up getting on a horse also because it didn't make sense. We rode the carousel with her a few times. She definitely loves it most. The rides are in pretty good condition and the place looks like they maintain it well. Just about every ride was operating. Don't let these rides fool you. Some of them are pretty intense, like the Queens Motor Speedway, Frog Hopper and Queens Himalaya, are all legit. I was holding on to my cap and my kid was laughing all the way. It was a fun experience. Despite it not being busy in the beginning, adults and their children, alike, get pushy. The lack of home training is apparent. I'm happy we went when we did. I would definitely go back but it would have to be a get in, get out situation. I value my personal space and level head too much. We didn't partake in any of the junk food but there's plenty around. As it began getting crowded, we decided to skidaddle. As I said earlier, we wanted to go on one more ride and the kid needed a parent with her but we were short one ticket and the line was crazy by this time so we got on the carousel one last time and headed out.
