Could I say this trip out to Howard Beach was for a friend's child's birthday or perhaps niece or…read morenephew? I could. But that'd be lying =P Because in reality I took my grown up self and a friend along for kicks to an indoor trampoline park filled with hyperactive toddlers and children, while their parents mostly stood around and chaperoned. AND I HAD A BLAST Top 40 pop songs reverberated over the speakers as I jumped my not-so-child-like heart out. Youthful joy was rekindled. In those moments suspended in the air for half a second, my five year old self made an appearance. Afterwards someone might've tried to jump on the asphalt ground outside because they were in a bouncy kind of mood and have been slightly disappointed at not achieving the same air. Ok and I maaay have not read the address when I bought the admission ticket, bc Howard Beach is kinda a far trek though I made sure to arrive right when they opened to avoid what I expected to be a small army of elementary age kiddos by early afternoon. There were maybe 15-20 kids when I arrived and when the magical clock struck 11:30am about 40 more arrived with families in tow. At that point it was a leeettle awkward to be face to face watching the parents watch their kids, though gotta admit seeing kids having fun brought a smile to my face. Ok I'm about to ding a couple things bc I'm rating this from an adult perspective and include things that I'd love selfishly to have at a place like this 1) more supportive landing pads in the areas for the ninja warrior and rock climbing section...my old body doesn't balance as well so if you happen to land closer to the edge of the air pad, your body weight kinda makes you roll off the edge (like into a wall/pole), 2) could I ask for a section for "kids" X foot Y inches and above height requirement, since there's a 3 and younger age section, haha I know that's probably a stretch, 3) paper towels in the bathroom. Other info: you need to sign a waiver to participate. You must wear their special grip socks $3/pair. No personal belongings allowed on the trampoline area, lockers are $5 each to rent. There are weekend evening "older kid" nights where they dim the lights and have glow sticks. A couple rooms on the mezzanine floor that can be reserved for groups or parties. There's a concessions stand that sells food and drinks, and several arcade games you can pay to play. Bathrooms are available.

We booked tickets in advance thinking they might sell out but no: Urban Air will just keep. packing. people. in. As many as possible, as much cash as they can with zero regard for safety. This place is BANANAS…read more On the one hand, it's an absolute paradise for children. If you have kids that need to get some energy out, you couldn't design a better space. It's a giant obstacle course, plus a huge trampoline park where they're playing dodgeball, plus a big slippery mountain to climb, a ropes course, go-karts, an arcade, a VR situation, and more. (Incoming rant that makes me sound like an old man: These kids have no idea how great they have it. When I was eight, we had birthday parties in a empty gym and we were lucky if they threw us some balls.) On the other hand, for most adults (at least the ones who don't love screaming children, flashing lights, and other people generally in their personal space), it's entirely too crowded, and an utterly chaotic nightmare. Unsurprisingly, Urban Air is a mecca for Brooklyn birthday parties, which is how we've always come in. However, I'm sure you can just pay for a ticket for your kid (I imagine it's more than you want to spend, but you already live in Brooklyn so you know what it is) if you need to get them moving this winter. The food situation is exactly what you'd expect: bad pizza, popcorn, pretzels, chicken fingers, etc. I think I could forgive them for most transgressions if they only offered alcohol, but I suppose we're here for the children. Just hopefully not that long.

Jennifer, who hosted the party, was beyond amazing. She was so warm, kind, hospitable, and genuinely made every guest feel special and welcomed. I honestly don't think I've ever seen birthday party staff this attentive and caring before. She went above and beyond and truly made the entire experience feel seamless and special. It honestly comes as no surprise because Xtreme Energy is already one of the best places for kids, but this experience completely exceeded expectations. Highly recommend for both play and parties!

He still speaks of his birthday and I can't say enough amazing things about the experience! From start to finish, it was truly a one-stop shop. They handled everything from decorations, food, cake, and nonstop indoor play, which made the day completely stress-free for us and unforgettable for our little one. The space was clean, safe, and perfectly set up for toddlers to have a blast. The staff was incredibly friendly, organized, and attentive, making sure every detail was taken care of. The food and cake were delicious, beautifully presented, and right on time. We also added the balloon animal add-on, and it was a HUGE hit, the kids were absolutely thrilled and it added such a fun, special touch to the party! If you're looking for an easy, fun, and perfectly coordinated birthday party experience, I highly recommend Xtreme Energy Englewood. They made our son feel so special, and we got to actually enjoy the celebration instead of stressing over logistics. Thank you for making his 3rd birthday so memorable!

When you enter there's a spot to place your shoes which is like a shoe display area which is a bit different and kind of cool. You have to check in at the front desk before they unlock the gate to allow you in. There's a bathroom to your left then another bathroom located on the other side of the under 18 month play area. They have a lot are rideable cars for the kids. The set up is pretty cool too it's like a large tree house. There's also a water area, a make believe grocery store and the 18 month and younger play area. Something for all the kids up to age 6. The back right is the area where they serve food which is equiped with a soda machine. My friend told me all the food was cateredby twinkle. Pizza and pasta was good. Wings were ok. Fruit platter was good especially for the kids and the fries were soggy but my 1 year old didn't mind. The cake was chocolate and vanilla. I had the chocolate which was really moist and not too sweet. Party experience here was really great and it was from 5 to 8 so it was nice we had the entire area to ourselves.
