The service is very friendly and attentive. My Cabernet from Sculpterra was delicious and generously poured. The Beaujolais and Grassy Bar oysters were very fresh and tasty, My wife had the Caeser salad with salmon filet and I had the crab cake stuffed petrale sole with rice pilaf and vegetables. Both were very good and very HOT when served. We would have tried the desserts but we were too full. The view is fun because you see boats passing by, otters, playing, and sea lions fighting for space on the sea lion dock. Fun place! Definitely try it! read more

My wife and I had a quick getaway to Morro Bay and decided on this restaurant. We you walk I'm this place has nice spacing and not too crowded. The male waiter was very friendly and answered all our questions especially about the oysters. We settled for half a dozen of the local oysters. A nice slightly salty oysters and a tad creamy. Also paired with horseradish, tapatio, minionett, and cocktail sauce. Amazing. My wife ordered the kings platter. It was delicious. The batter of the seafood was a little salty and had a nice spice to it. Shrimp,scallops, and fish;$ I ordered the lobster roll and it was good! I ordered all the coleslaw on the side. The lobster rolls meat was sautéed in some garlic. Then place between two warm buns. Tasted simple nice hazy beers. Server was amazing a young in energy older Caucasian. Unfortunately, Kickers really missed the mark for me. Our server was very absent - not only visiting other tables more often, but I didn't even see him in the restaurant. I ordered a cocktail, and the rest of my party received theirs within 5 minutes. Mine did not come with the rest. When it did arrive, 20 minutes later, the ice was more than half melted, and my drink was only half full. I got the Mango Tango - it was fine. I split the wedge salad, fries, and smoked salmon tacos with a friend. Our server did not come back to get our orders for at least 15 minutes. The price of all items was much higher than I anticipated. The fries were $16 - yes, they were parmesan and truffle oil, but wow. The salad and tacos were between $20 and $30 each. The salad was really difficult to eat - the wedges were very tough. The salmon tacos were sizable, but that cost was for tacos only, no sides. We were not informed that tip would be included - 15%. I tip 18-20% usually, but I would not have given 15% in this situation. The total for two drinks, two entrees, a side, and tip/tax was over $130. The place itself was so incredibly loud. There was a guitar player who was also singing and his speaker was turned up so high that I had difficulty hearing the person across the table from me. I am 37 years old with great hearing - not an ideal situation. I love Morro Bay, but will not be returning to Kickers. read more

Was in SLO visiting and looked for a place with reservations to avoid waiting. Booked on OpenTable. Drove 15 minutes into Morro Bay, and when we checked in, they said it would be a minimum of a 30 minute wait. When I reminded them I made reservations, they said they had to give other patrons with reservations the same message. Not sure why that should make me feel any better. We wouldn't have driven to Morro Bay had we known. Very, very disappointing. read more

When we travel I like to eat local, or the signature dish. Kickers, in Morro Bay had 6 kinds of oysters, but the local grassy bar grown within eye shot of our window seat were my choice. Spectacular flavor, just the right size, fresh, briny and delicious. In a rare moment, my husband ordered garlic parmesan fries. I was trying to stick with the seafood and a salad but those dang fries were the best I have ever eaten. Addictive is the word that comes to mind. Double fried, crisp, flavorful and that's not considering the addition of garlic, cheese and house made ranch. Superior food, gorgeous sunset, sealions and otters in the bay, heaven! First time trying this newish restaurant. Clam chowder was delicious....Cesar salad was heavily dressed and $18 for a pile of romaine lettuce leaves seemed over priced. My husband got the Kings platter (I think that's what it was called)...it was clearly over cooked...should be golden brown not blackened. Wine was good but expensive as well. All in all I'm not sure we'll go back. $97 dollars for dinner for two was just to much. Service was good but it was a week night and the restaurant was not very full. My wife and two kids decided to try this place while we were visiting Morro bay from Grover. The place is very clean and nice. We ordered 3 fish tacos, the beef/crab melt, and the lobster roll. The food is over priced for what you get. The crab roll was 28$ and had about an ounce of crab on it and a ton of their horseradish slaw. The tacos were bland but the salsa was very good. It's not terrible but insanely over priced. Our bill was 90$ for those three things. The server was very nice. Staff was excellent but food was not. read more

We went there last night. service was awful took about 10 minutes to get our drinks and that was after we flagged her down and she got mine wrong twice, took forever to take our order as she was just standing and we had to flag her down. We all got the fish and chips, it was dry and overcooked. We had breakfast here 2 days in a row because it was that good. My husband had the pork belly frittata and the pork belly benedict. Both were great. I had the french toast sticks both times because I couldn't get enough of it. The fruit compote and whipped cream were a nice change from what you get elsewhere. Atmosphere and service was great, food was barely okay, and prices were outrageous! 10-12$ for a beer! Why the crazy mark up? Oysters were nice and fresh, but my caesar salad was $26 with salmon that was fishy and oversalted, and they put a couple of slimy anchovies on the plate, which was pretty unappetizing. My husband had the shrimp tacos that he didn't even finish because the flavors were so blah and overpriced as well at $23. Pretty disappointing as a local looking forward to a new restaurant opening. If you are going to charge such high prices, make sure the food is amazing! Hopefully, over the next few months, things will come together for this place. In the meantime, I'll be getting my beer and tacos at the Siren, which are twice as delicious and half the price. read more

I ate at Kicker's tonight and had a Lobster Roll that melted in my mouth. There was live music that started right at sunset. Wonderful. I finished with a root beer float, the best I ever had. Nice look, but... Prices are way too high and they are charging a bogus fee (confirmed by the City of Morro Bay). We're locals who frequent the other Embarcadero restaurants regularly, and, despite Kicker's claims, their pricing isn't in line with the other restaurants. Sorry, too, to have them not address the bogus Embarcadero fee (also at their other restaurant) which our City Manager stated is not acceptable. read more

They did a great job upgrading the dining and bar area. It's a nice design combination of classy yet welcoming and relaxed. Seating is ample, and the comfy big booths right on the windows by the water are perfect. We stopped in for a casual Sunday night dinner with an out of town family member and were not disappointed. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and very nice. The menu offers many options, the prices are a bit high, but the portions are decent and the food itself was fan-freakin-tastic! The clam chowder is a MUST have, oysters Rockefeller mmmmmm, and a pasta dish with scallops and shrimp. All I can say is that neal may haunt my dreams! We also enjoyed a couple of cocktails. The bloody Mary was really good. Sadly, they were out of most of the beers on their draft list, so honestly, the only reason they didn't get 5 stars was the beer and steep prices.
