Came because of the name! Decent cold brew and a lot of seating available with a funky atmosphere! Their baked goods a looked great and they offer breakfast tacos, but didn't get a chance to try them. They also have wi-fi available. Good amount of parking available in the strip in front of them or the Specs a few doors down.

A fun coffee shop with a selection of coffee, drinks and food. I was happy to find that there's real food in addition to pastries. There's also a variety of beers and hard alcohol. There's live entertainment on the weekends and a nice sized stage. Parking is available in a lot in front and a t's right off the freeway. The women's washroom was fun with all the stickers and it was clean with a place to put things like you bag.

Such a vibrant and fun environment/community! I came here to see a friend perform her poetry pieces during a Sunday open mic. It was an entertaining night for sure. They had cocktails/well drinks for $5.25 which was great. I have to take off one star for the drinks! I ordered a simple matcha and the server did not blend the drink as I watched him make it. He stirred it with the end of a knife which seemed unsanitary and odd that they did not have proper equipment. Definitely check this place out.

LOVE this place!!!! I came yesterday because it is next to where my son is attending summer camp. I came again today. I love the coffee. The caramel macchiato and the breakfast sandwich on a crossaint. It's a chill atmosphere. The staff are very nice and helpful with suggestions. It's literally the coolest place I've ever been to get coffee. I didn't even want to take too many photos and look uncool .. I highly recommend if you are in the area.

I did not go into the store but had it delivered. The breakfast taco flour tortilla was stuck to the wrapper. The chocolate chip muffin was good though.

My review is solely for this location as a music venue - I didn't get any food or drink here. It seems like a cool place for that, though. They've got a cool corner stage, enough room for a dance floor, and vendors set up during SXSW. I'd recommend bringing earplugs if you're here for a while - the sound setup is legit and it is loud with a small space. Edit: And clearly by the speed of the response of the business manager, they care about the experience here (sub 30-minutes while I'm still here, man!). Hope to catch future events!

Time for an update! First: read my reviews below! Both are still valid. Today I'd like to add that Kick Butt is a solid establishment that cares about its customers, the employees, and the community. This is not a faceless, corporate operation. Join the mailing list and learn about the staff, the great things the business supports, and the great events being hosted. All of this, plus the customer service, pastries, sandwiches, drinks, and varied meal menu, are why I stop in whenever my travels bring me back into Austin.

Whipped cream is a listed ingredient. Was not included in my coffee.

Still coming back to this place when my commute allows and always have a good experience. Great coffee and breakfast tacos!

Kick Butt Coffee is one of my favorite local venues in Austin to go see live music, or to play at with my bands Frogmouth and Öld Phükkerz (shameless self promotion)! The venue is intimate, with great sound (both on stage and off), and the staff and management are always very accomodating. What's even better is that it's all ages and I get to bring my kids out to shows, and the whole family has a great time! The food and drinks are the icing on the cake, as their baked goods and tacos we've tried have all been high quality. This spot serves a variety of purposes in the community, whether it a be a great coffee shop that has fun and inviting ambiance, or a great venue giving up and coming bands and performers a place to share their craft with local music lovers. This is truly a killer spot that contributes to making Austin an incredible place to live!

I tried their green dragon focaccia sandwich and their small black ice coffee. It was around $23 for both. The sandwich came with a side and i choose their chip and queso. I enjoyed the sandwich, but I wish the mushroom on it was cooked. The queso was really good. During the day, I wish the lighting inside be a little bit brighter for those who are doing their work or studying.

Went by at 8 PM on Monday and they were closed. What happened?

Apologies. Tonoght we were having our grease trap pumped as required by the city every three months. Stinks bad. Sparing customers the discomfort. Again, apologies for the inconvenience. Thanks for checking in.

It is definitely a classic Austin location that I hope will be around forever! I don't drink beer but they had some great drink specials for those who do. One of my friends was able to get a non-alcoholic beer, the other had a beer, and I had a couple of topo chicos. I think you can also order food there, but we didn't order anything. They also have decent parking options if not in their lot, on the street so we didn't have to walk too far. And I appreciated that Jane was playing at an earlier time. Her band's songs were oldies but goodies and they got several people out on the dance floor! I hope to find myself at Carousel Lounge again soon!

They have some of the best cocktails (and mocktails) in Austin. The Positano (mocktail) is crazy good. It's made with N/A limoncello and it's so pretty to look at as well. There is a small lot out front but it was full. I was able to find street parking on a neighborhood side street right near the bar. Upon walking up, I was immediately greeted by an employee on the patio. She held the door open for me which was super nice. When I walked in, I was given the option of sitting at the bar or a table. They do not take reservations unless your party has 8 or more people. Additionally, this bar is pretty small (38 indoor seats, 20 patio seats). We got there relatively early on a Saturday night. The bartender was really nice and explained some of the cocktails. I started with The Field of Dreams. It was a gin based cocktail with dry vermouth, bergamot, and chamomile bitters. The drink was good, but very strong! I also had a gimlet which is such a classic. It's one of my favorites to order at a craft cocktail bar. My friend had Dove's Cry which was a Mezcal cocktail. I didn't try any, but it looked really good! We didn't order any food, but they do have a small menu. The kitchen closes an hour before the bar closes (currently at 11 pm for the kitchen, 12 am for the bar). The vibe was extremely chill. The music was at a good volume to where we could converse without having to yell at each other. The menu changes seasonally. I'm looking forward to returning to try some of their latest creations.

After I had a…read moremajor, successful work event we (me & the boyfriend) decided this would be the place to celebrate. Its location is in a weird spot, one of those mixed properties with apartments/condos and retail space underneath on the first floor (street level). More and more that's the going theme around the country (mixed use spaces). Anyway, do not let that fool you. When you first step inside you're immediately transformed to another world. A landscape of fantasy, steampunk, goth, & industrial interior design await you in this adult gaming room. By adult, I don't mean "adult"; I simply mean that it's a space for grownups to have high-end craft cocktails (or mocktails), beer, and top quality food while playing board games. They have a large library of games to choose from--over 100. Each reservation allows guests two hours at the pub-plenty of time to eat & play. It's a $7 per person game fee & this includes a Game Master who explains the game you're playing. Anyone from the serious game player to the novice player will feel at home here and have a blast. It's really a great vibe. The game we chose was Catch the Moon, sort of a reverse Jenga. For our meal we shared the ribeye & mashed potatoes with chimichurri. The steak was juicy and perfectly cooked. The potatoes were flavorful and fluffy. The sauce packed so much vibrant taste and brought the meal together. Every month they have "special menus". My boyfriend had the Gin of a Killer cocktail (of which I had several sips lol). It was a twist on a Tom Collins with Still Austin Gin, St. Germain (my fave) & more. The service is fab. They do team-style service, meaning you won't have the same server throughout. I've been to places who've done this and it was a sh*t show. Not here! They've nailed it. It was actually fun because we got to come in contact with a variety of folks working there, all with great personalities bringing their own vibe to our event. When first seated, a server comes to the table with water and menus. After that, you push a button each time you need someone (Accio Server). The buttons are located on the sides of the dining tables. So, as I mentioned, whether you're a casual game player or a serious D&D player, this is the place to be. Can't wait to go back!

Even during a week day this place can get pretty crowded. On my most recent visit, I showed up with my immediate family and a close friend. There were six of us total. I had made the reservation for five, but they were able to seat us in a spot with an extra chair. We all had a good time, even my dad who is over 80 years old. We just spent our reservation time playing Timeline. The game instructor was really nice and helpful, had no problems answering some obvious questions and repeating things for my dad. So we sat at one of the open tables next to another party. The separation screen next to us was knocked over by someone on the other side. It landed on me and my husband. Thankfully it was only a cup of water that was knocked down. The other person was apologetic, but it took a while to flag a server down to help us clean up the spilled water. We managed to get most of it with a few extra napkins we had, and all the ones I carry in my purse just in case. So this floundering and the fact that the food portions have seemed to have gotten smaller. I took a star off. I still enjoy my time here, and will come back.
