All around great experience at little brother. Popped in for a couple cold ones and was not disappointed. Nice theme and sick cocktail combinations. Had a few tequila based drinks. My favorite was the Nummy Returns. A Szechuan infused tequila with a sugar back is a true experience. Overall, we met a bunch of nice people, hung out with the bartender and left happy. In fact, it reminds me what Rainey once was with vibes and good times. It's a super small bar and not much bigger than a walk up. It seats four and probably has a capacity of ten. It's not just a bar but also a coffee shop that as well. They're known for stellar coffee, delicious kolaches, and outstanding cocktails. The Banana Stand: A banana old fashioned that packs a punch! Fantastic espresso and Americano from Paige at Little Brother! I can't believe this is only their 2nd day open, and it is already off to a great start! I love a place that really knows their way around good espresso and good beans (they serve washed Ethiopian Habtamu Fikadu from Figure 8). Always helps to see a La Marzocco GS3 machine and a Barista who is passionate and knowledgeable about her coffee. There is a lot of clarity and layers to the espresso and even the Americano. This is not your standard fare coffee, that's for sure! The Zesty Zombie is also a coffee drink that a must try! It is made from Chai pomegranate and lemon coupled with iced sparkling espresso. Finally, Little Brother is also a bar in the afternoon and night, and their bartender is a real Wiz with his drinks! Definitely coming back here again tonight! read more

This is not the correct location that I went to, but hopefully for anyone who's interested in the SoCo Little Brother location, you'll find my review! It's very unnoticeable on SoCo. You probably wouldn't even know it was there unless you were looking for it. My friend and I are both huge coffee fans, so we purposely came to SoCo for Little Brother. It's attached to this hat shop. Their kolaches are amazing. My friend got the pork kolache, and it was so crispy and flaky on the outside. The pork was slightly cheesy. It was a really delicious kolache. I also ordered their cappuccino, which was really good! I normally order generic vanilla iced lattes, but I really wanted a photo of the cup. I was not disappointed. I probably would not go out of my way to come to Little Brother because I believe their hours are earlier, but I'm so glad that I discovered it. read more

Came here for the Bad Larry Burger pop up - stayed for the drinks! This was hands down the best way to celebrate NYE in Austin (also, because I'm old and 3pm seemed like a great celebratory time). This place is tiiiiiiiny - but was one of the only places open on Rainey before 4 PM. There are 4 seats at the bar inside, but they have a huge patio with plenty of seating in the front. We were lured in by the sign out front - "this is a sign - come in here" and we're lucky to get 2 of the open seats at the bar. The cocktails are really fun and cute, and their frozen drinks are strong. Fun way to kill a couple of hours with friendly staff and patrons. They also have coffee and food, which I heard other guests raving about. read more

Small café and bar with an intimate hipster vibe. It has a food truck specializing in breakfast burritos called Bummer Burritos attached to it. The space is quite cramped with only 4 stools inside and maybe a few tables outside. The drink menu also has a limited selection but pre-mixed cocktails are creatively served in repurposed and relabeled aluminum cans. It's not a bad way to start off your day drinking before heading out to busier and bigger bars down the street. read more

Love this bar. I started coming here when Bad Larry Burger Club initially started serving their pre-order burgers outside of this joint. Their self-proclaimed "Best Bar on the Worst Street" rings true. It's tiny... maybe a 3 or 4 person high-top bar... but I always hang out outside at the tables in front of the bar. The bartenders are dope and they typically serve you in aluminum cans, branded with their details on them. They host a lot of shows with some great bands, which are usually punk or screaming, so be prepared. Bad Larry Burgers - 10 out of 5. best smash burger in Austin - they'll be posted up there until jan 17th so get there ASAP! Bummer Burrito - the food truck next to the bar - deliiicious! Austin isn't much of a burrito town, but they nail them here. I had a frozen Tiki Tom's Krushin' Krampus [$12] and it was AMAZING. I was interested in doing some philanthropy and came because I thought it was a community mentorship program. I was shocked that it's in fact a den of debauchery and vice. They had all sorts of liquors I had never heard of before (I am sober) and it was very confusing. Anyways I tried a malort (I am no longer sober) and ended up going on a personal voyage of self-discovery when I saw a VHS movie they were playing called Point Break. The bartenders were very supportive of my new path. I stopped going to therapy and now I just come here. Also they have Gatorade. Would recommend. read more

Really delicious drinks, and a very fun atmosphere even given the high standards of Rainey Street. Old movies on a 90s TV are a fun addition. It's a coffee shop during the day, but I can't speak to the daytime quality (seems like others on here are hot and cold about it). The one knock on the evening side of things is the starkly limited seating. There are only a couple of barstools, so be prepared to stand even if it isn't busy. read more

I was a bit surprised at the price of the cortado (a shot of espresso with equal portion steamed milk). I guess I was expecting 2 or 3 shots of espresso and an equal amount of milk, but its only 1 shot. Still, it was a good pick me up for a night out. read more

Stumbled upon Little Brother while visiting Rainey Street on our trip to Austin, TX a couple weeks ago. We visited a handful of scrappy-stinky loud bars before we discovered this small little miracle. Here are the highlights: The drinks. Damn, they were good. The vintage and/or unique glasses, the collection of VHS classics shelved, the intimate setting, the good music - everything. The bartender was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. He gave us great recommendations on drinks, including a super delicious and strong sharable drink that came in a Spanish parron wine pitcher. I had never drank from a Spanish decanter thing - it was pretty fun to try that. He also gave us great recommendations on other places to visit in Austin, and was an overall pleasant lad to chat with. If your optimal 4pm Sunday activity includes rubbing elbows with stumbling trash people attempting karaoke to awful country songs, Rainey street has plenty of that for you. If you're looking for something else, step into Little Brother for a drink. read more

This place has great drinks if you love caffeine as much as I do. Very creative and decently sized because not everyone wants 3 espressos in one sitting. However, the servers here are pretty big assholes and can't handle dishing out respect to drunk people. I completely understand how annoying a drunk person can be, but if you own a bar on Rainey street of all places, you should adapt to treat drunkards with respect. I've met the A team as well as the B team of baristas at this place, and 3/4 of the guys have no respect for their customers. I'd give the menu a 4/5 but the customer service gives this place a 1 for sure. read more

I would've totally passed this place up if it wasn't for our friend who recommended it to us. We stopped in for one drink before heading out to dinner and we're lucky enough to sit outside. The bartenders were friendly and funny but the star of the show was my drink, the Blue Oaxacan. I got the tiny bb can which is much smaller than you think but so adorable (next time I'd double the larger size because it was so delicious). It was perfectly balanced; not too sweet, not too tart, and allowed me to get a teeeeny tiny buzz. I can't wait to go back for the bigger size! read more

This cute little coffee shop is awesome! It's trendy and in a great location. We went in for a coffee, only to realize they have drinks too. It's VERY small, so not good for groups or working, but as long as you know that it's great. They have a VHS player with old movies in the corner and the decorations are very "hipster".
