We stopped by Lucille on the night of July 4th with some friends. It was pretty empty around 10:30 PM. The DJ was alright--he played some good tracks but didn't really mix or transition between songs much. The bartenders were pretty relaxed and even hyped up our friend when he started breaking out some crazy dance moves. The bar itself feels really dated and could definitely use a refresh though. Lucille Special Tea ($13.85): This is made with Deep Eddy sweet tea vodka, citrus juices, and soda. Unfortunately, it didn't taste cohesive or fresh. This bar has more chill vibes for Rainey. I loved how it is all decked out for Halloween now, and they rotate festive decorations. The music was overwhelmingly loud outside even during the day though, so it was hard to keep a conversation. Their cocktails are $15, which is an expected price. This is a late review since I'm going to mentioned the Christmas season but I'm going to anyway because: 1) I'm super behind on my reviews and always playing catch up; 2) the holiday drink menu was good and 3) the holiday decor made the experience better. There were four of us and it was pretty early in the evening so we got in and the bar was pretty empty but still lively. We got to the bar and was handed a menu with a lot of specialty holiday themed cocktails which I didn't like and I was prepared to eye roll my entire time until-wait, what's this? A shot whiskey and Lone Star? Done The staff were pretty great and even though my drink choice was a little more straightforward the other choices were made well. We stopped into Lucille while checking out Rainey. Most of the indoor tables were taken so we hung out on the back patio for a bit. The outdoor fans were nice as it was pretty hot while we were there. The music was blasting kind of loud and we were the only people out on the patio, but I'm sure this place gets busy later at night. It was just a little over the top for what we were looking for - it was nice to explore Rainey during the day when it wasn't too wild! I've made 3 trips in 2 weeks. Love the decor and the outdoor patio is large and amazing. Perfect to just sit and relax, or party it up. Plenty of seating options and photo-op areas. A bit pricey but a great open area to hangout for the evening. In the middle of Rainey Street is Lucille. It's pretty wide open here for large groups. Drinks are a bit steep and oddly priced. We got a Special Tea for $13.85 and a Kona Big Wave for $6.48. Not sure who decided those prices but with a card obviously it doesn't matter. We weren't here very long because there were a lot of people by the time we made it here and it was hard to navigate. I visited Lucille's on a Friday night as part of a friend's event and loved that the bar was decorated for the holidays! Right away, we decided to go to the bar to get ourselves drinks as it was extremely crowded and we thought it would take awhile. Throughout the night, my group ordered/ tried a variety or drinks which was especially fun as they have a seasonal menu. I tried the "Apple Sauced" which is hot apple cider with rum and it was tasty but very strong tasting! After that, I went to the more basic drinks/ cocktails which weren't worth mentioning. I visited Lucille a couple of times last week when I was on a business travel with a group of coworkers. Lucille felt like home. Super cozy with a great vibe and very friendly staff. Sitting in the patio, listening to the music while talking to two of my buddies with the cool breeze passing through the tall buildings was an unforgettable experience. We found Lucille while looking for a safe, outdoor spot on Rainey St on a Monday night! Their patio is quite expansive and has all the trimmings-- heaters, TVs/speakers, neon lights, and HAMMOCKS. I can imagine those are quite fun on a summer Saturday! Their cocktail options made it hard to choose where to start. My group tried the secret garden, sweet tea, rose-jito, and wasabi Bloody Mary. The front lawn is a great spot to settle-in and peoplewatch. Nonetheless, it can be quite overrun on weekends; it feels like being at a festival. Most of the chairs and surfaces are pretty sticky from all of the spills. The drinks themselves are pretty watery and quite expensive (about $15 per drink currently, before tip). We went in for 2 drinks and kept to ourselves until a group of people started to yell and bother us. The bartender did nothing to help us, she just laughed and supported them. Service and conversation was both great they do not serve food but they do not have a problem with you coming inside to eat you food from one of the many food trucks outside and having a drink as well. Lucille is the name of B.B. King's guitar! This Rainey Street bar is a fun joint to rock out at. There's all kinds of cool stuff that goes on here. There's a stage in the rear of the building where bands come jam out. The outdoor seating area that surrounds the stage makes for cool places to relax. The outside bar is a fun place to get something good to drink. Service is fast and prices are somewhat reasonable. The interior bar is a bit more stuffy, if you ask me. The long bar offers patrons good places to belly up and grab a cocktail or just a beer. The whole building seems to have been someone's house at some given time. Everything is made of wood. They had a photo booth out back, where you could get something to memorialize your trip to Lucille. It wouldn't be complete without one.
