RIP Crow Bar. Welcome The Wheel! The space has been renovated to be lighter, more sleek and comfortable, and cozy couches. The smiling staff offer a full bar, good beer, and HH specials until 7pm. Soon to come, food truck, but until then, bring snacks! I'm excited for a new place on S Congress (across from StEd's) to chill with friends, catch a game or two on the flatscreens, or even pick up a game of pool.

We didn't even realize that Pinthouse Brewing had a sourdough crust (apparently not all locations…read moredo), so that was such a fun surprise. The sourdough pizza was really good--almost like a focaccia/Detroit-style hybrid, but with the sauce layered on the bottom. Super flavorful, crispy edges, soft inside... honestly just hit. Also--my husband was way too excited (in the best way) to see boiled peanuts on the menu, so of course we had to start there. Great call. We'll definitely be back.

The building is quite large and inside is cool as the seating is quite spacious and a large number of people can enjoy food and drink at once. Definitely not a tiny, small placed brewery...but it's true... everything is bigger in Texas! When we were at Pinthouse I spotted a Mexican Lager which is a type of lager I love and especially in warm weather... a perfect summer beer for me! The name of the beer was Burro's Breakfast. In the flavor profile of this beer you will find a naturally sweet corn flavor, some maltiness along with a tart and dry finish. The beer is light bodied like most lagers of this type and smooth in body. In addition to having a beer we also decided to get some lunch. So we got a chicken sandwich a piece along with coleslaw and had a very nice lunch. Coming to Pinthouse Brewing proved to be a good stop as we made a pretty extensive tour of the breweries in Austin.

There's always something going on--from trivia nights to showing all the major sporting events--and Saturday/Sunday often feature live music, which makes for a fun weekend hangout. The food trucks are also consistently good, so there's always something tasty to pair with a beer. One of the things that really sets this brewery apart is everything beyond the beer. They have a soccer field and sand volleyball courts that host recreational leagues, giving the place a real community feel and making it easy to spend an entire afternoon or evening there. Overall, it's a great spot with a laid-back vibe, plenty of activities, and something for everyone. We keep coming back, and it's one of the first places we recommend to friends looking for a great brewery experience in Austin.

We thought it might be crowded on a Saturday night, but didn't expect this. -When we got inside, the England World Cup game was on the big screen. Place was packed. Neither were terrible or memorable : ) -The soccer fields and volleyball courts looked well maintained. -The highlight for us was the ambiance and the food trucks. Enjoyed Side Eyed Pizza. Recommended!

Warning to those visiting around dusk in summer: during my last visit we were eaten alive by mosquitos. Other than that, love Radio. This location has three food trucks including one of my favorites, Shortwave Diner. Their smashburger and Reuben sandwiches with homemade fries are delicious. Radio also offers an amazing happy hour from 4 pm to close every Monday through Thursday. The hibiscus mojito is the perfect summer treat. This location has a great trivia on Tuesday nights too. I've been there once before for swing dancing one evening. I wish I lived closer to it but I'm sure I'll end up back here eventually for another event!
