I finally made my way to Gin Bar and it did not disappoint. Cute rooftop bar located within the Arrive Hotel (also home to Vixen's Wedding - separate review posted). Alyssa and Daniel were amazing! Great service and the cocktails were delicious. The ambiance is chic yet cozy with plenty of seating. This is definitely a hidden gem and I hope it garners more attention. I really enjoy gin. This place is on the rooftop of Lefty's. I came here on a saturday night and enjoyed the space and drinks. They have emporium gin, my latest discovery. The fire pits were perfect to the chilly night. I like that it's not too divey and not too crowded and features gin. Really nice to finally see gin getting some attention! Still relatively new to gin, but since my foray into it I've really tried to sample as many different types as possible to get a taste of what is out there. This is by far the best place in town to try new and obscure flavors that you won't find at dive, or even nicer bars. The space (rooftop patio attached to the hotel in the back of Lefty's) is particularly nice during the evening as it's not hot, and they had a live DJ while we were there, and even free pizza for all of the customers! It's probably also somewhat more quiet since it's geared toward gin (but there are other liquor as well) so it might be serving a more niche set of clientele. read more

The bar itself is adorable and a great location. The bar could use some signage, it is not easy to get into. The stairwell at the bottom of lefty's can't be accessed, and there's a small sign that says to enter at the hotel. It just isn't very clear. We passed it and the valet ended up pointing us in the right direction. The bartender was so nice and knowledgeable. She did a great job recommending things. The drinks themselves were pretty decent but I wasn't WOWED by any of them. Could use some more exciting ingredients. read more

What a little hidden gem! As an avid gin lover, I feel like a pro here. You can have yummy cocktails but also try different gin flights. I found a new fave 'Dingle' from Ireland, it's somehow sweet and dry (my ideal combo). I also love the rooftop patio where this bar is located, plenty of great seating to share. My only issue with this place is how long it takes to get drinks. I understand quality over quantity however, on a Friday night, might be a good idea to have some folks ready to jump in if the line gets too long. Overall, im a big fan and will be back. read more

Hidden atop the valet entrance to Arrive hotel you'll find a nice slice of relaxation to imbibe with a vast number of Gins. Gin Bar is a great space. It's not so overdone like Vixens Wedding or overpriced like Lefty's. I think they got it right the third time here. They have a lot of gin here - seriously a lot! I'm a gin fan and when I also saw they had Jenever I was certain they new Gin. I went basic and got a classic - Aviation. It was on point and secured my belief that they were the real McCoy and not just a theme with some random bartenders. I can walk to this place so I'm a bit biased but I'll surely return and think you should try it out for yourself. You'll be pleased. read more

I love me some gin, so I was ecstatic to try this place out. Sometimes this place is accessible from Lefty's, just go out in the back and take the stairs up. If not, you will have to enter through the Arrive hotel and take the elevator up. It's all practically outdoors, plenty of seating for groups or to meet up for a drink. The place itself is a pretty good size and it was not packed. The hotel rooms look down into it so you may see people creeping down to you. Their cocktails are all unique and different, but still taste amazing. Gin Martini was definitely the strongest drink I tried. read more

So I made res on open table for 6 ppl and my other friend also made a res for 6 people. The only option on open table is for 6 ppl. The reservations were both for fire pit which seats about 12-15 ppl comfortably. When we arrived my friend explained we had two separate reservations so the hostess willingly says, oh we'll just put you guys together at one fire pit. Yeah, that makes sense thanks. We sit down ready to order. The waitress comes up and immediately starts complaining about how many people we have and how it's going to be really challenging to serve all of us in a timely manner. We weren't sure how to respond. She said the next you guys come in like this can you call and give us a heads up. Lady, your host is the one who put us all together. We get our drinks which were fine. The food was just a bunch of boards, nothing to be impressed by. The restaurant was half full to note. They had a few new waitresses in orientation, but the main rude one was running the show. We kept getting extra drinks we didn't order. The night was fine, but we didn't feel welcome and probably won't be back. On top of the rudeness we had already experienced, that same waitress comes up to us after the bill that she slapped gratuity on without letting us know she did. We gave that shitty waitress a tip on top of her gratuity. I know waitressing is ton of work, but don't be rude. Anyways, she came up to us and said, here's my card in case you guys want to show up in a big group again...I'll be prepared. WTF, you're a waitress at a bar!!!! That's your job!!!! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Came here for my sisters birthday and was extremely disappointed. Showed up 8:50. The bar was half full, still a decent amount of open couches/tables. We ordered three food items (a starter, a humus and a board). The first two items came out immediately. The board took over an hour to come out after we asked a few times for the status. When finally arrived, the board was cold and the tuna tasted expired. We asked them to take off our check. As for the drinks, we ordered two martinis with vodka (yes, I know it's a gin bar, but they said they provided one brand of every liquor.) After the first round of drinks we asked for another. The bar tender said that they had run out of vodka. I asked if they could possibly get any from their sister restaurant (same owner, below the bar) but she said no. Asked her if I could get a vodka drink from the bar below and bring up and she said no. 5 minutes later the table behind me got a vodka soda. After 30 minutes the vodka martinis came out but weren't modified as we had asked. After the last round of waiting for drinks (ended up being there 90 minutes in total), we asked for the check. $85 dollars for poor service and subpar food. Do not go. Plenty of choices that are better than this for your hard earned money. read more

This place is an absolute gem! Amazing little rooftop patio with 100+ different gins and incredible cocktails. A little bit hard to find -- they're only open Thurs-Sun right now and you have to go in through the Arrive Hotel to get to it (second floor). Worth a visit to try some of Anne's creative cocktails -- the smoked gin is coming to the menu this fall and it is not to be missed! Little late in writing this, but I took my team out for drinks after a long work day in August 2021. I can't say enough about our bartender (forgot his name, sorry!). He went above and beyond to make our experience an absolute blast. We got to a point where he was making drinks for us based on flavor profiles we liked. He even made my wife an old fashioned out of gin that she adored (she hates old fashioneds). Next time I'm in Austin, I'll be sure to make a stop here. read more

Visited this cocktail bar a week ago and it was a great spot in downtown Austin! Inventive cocktails and the bartender was very friendly and talked to my friends and I about the various Gins they offer. I'm more of a bourbon guy but glad I mixed it up. The manager Ben chatted with us and dude can rock a Hawaiian shirt. Will definitely grab a drink there again! read more

The place has potential. Great space and great cocktails. The bartender was amazing. However, it took at least 30 minutes to get a drink and there was no way I was going to wait that long again for a second. One bartender working on a Saturday night makes zero sense. If I wasn't there for a birthday I would have left. We had also grabbed Via 313 to go and was told we couldn't eat it in the bar because they serve food (caviar? no thanks)... after waiting 30 minutes for our drinks... and when I asked where we could go we were told nowhere because all seating/bar areas associated with the hotel sell food. The cutest little patio bar- no inside area so make sure the weather is cooperating! We arrived closer to opening time so there were not many people there. The bartender was great and made me a martini based off of my preferences. As it got later and busier, service suffered a bit. There was only one bartender on a Friday night and a very long line to get a drink. I just wanted to close out and had to hunt down the bar back to ask for my tab.
