This is such a lovely hideaway bar! The vibes are immaculate and I loved the dark moodiness of it all. We were a little lost when we first arrived because the door is quite subtle, but fortunately someone else was also entering. Our servers were all very friendly and we were seated by the manager. I highly recommend making a reservation--the only reason we got in was because another reservation for 10:00 didn't show and it was almost 20 past! The drinks were good and they have a pretty solid list of "experimentals" as well as some themed drinks for the bar. I had the Daisy and an espresso martini and enjoyed both. All in all, I think this place is great for a 1:1 or coming with a small group of 2-4 people. And our receipt came inside of a book, which added to the quirkiness of the place. A speakeasy in the suburbs?! Yes, it's true! Daisy Lounge is close to my parents' house. I've driven by many times and never knew it was there (which I guess is the point). My friend and I made a reservation on July 4th. The bar is usually open until midnight, but they closed early that night. The manager Jonny called me, but I missed the call. By the time I saw his text message, I had already arrived at the bar. He explained the situation and apologized and offered to rebook me for another day. The following day, I decided to try again. Instead of making a reservation, I texted Jonny to see if I could swing by when they opened. He responded promptly and told me it would be fine. My plan was to go solo, but my mom ended up joining me at the last minute. The entrance is inconspicuous. I knew what to look for because of the photos on Yelp. Upon entering, we were greeted by Jonny and his staff and were able to choose a seat. The space is dark and intimate. The pops of yellow and green throughout were nice. The bar is three stories and used to be the space where the tanks were kept when the restaurant was NXNW Brewery. My mom and I didn't get a chance to check out the upper levels. All of the staff that waited on us were so nice, friendly, and very professional. They gave great recommendations based on our preferences. I started with The Daisy cocktail! It's gin based and has coconut, lemon, and lavender. It was so good and refreshing! I also had A Just Shout-Out which was also a gin focused cocktail. I enjoyed the grapefruit flavor. My mom had the Lemme Drop which she enjoyed. She also ordered the Mini Lobster Roll. The presentation was beautiful. I don't care for shellfish, but I tried a small bite and thought it was quite tasty! I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to go back after the initial reservation was cancelled, but I'm glad that I was able to. Here's the review below. ---- Pros: - Friendly staff - Parking is abundant - Relatively easy to get reservations - Creative menu - Fair prices vs DT Austin Side Notes: - Closed on Sun + Mon - Hours: 5 PM until 10 or 12 PM - Takes reservations What We Got: - Two drinks - Daisy Old Fashioned ($17) - Goodnight + Goodluck ($18) ---- Design/Space: The space sets the tone for a cozy, intimate evening. The space is stylish, with moody lighting and a three-story layout that feels both inventive and the "speakeasy" vibes most would understand (books, hidden doors, etc). We sat on the first floor, and the ambiance felt great. The green and gold accents were tastefully done. Drinks: The drinks are playful in names, from "Ol' Dirty Bastard" to "Spresso." I love how many people contributed to creating the drinks at this place, giving it a great communal feel. However, the drinks were average. For a speakeasy and specialty cocktail bar, we expected a lot more. I preface this by saying my partner and I have been to Here Nor There-type places from LA to NYC, so we're comparing to top-tiered locations, so even a 3 is an excellent rank. I was hoping to get more out of the OF, mainly because they use Okinawa Black Sugar, but it was good, but not amazing. The other drink was good, but again, not incredible. The ice was on the smaller side, and I would have loved to have the bigger block of ice (2.25") stamped as well (most places have stamping and larger ice cubes as a standard). Staff: The staff is very friendly, and the bartender has experience from other places around Austin. I have no complaints here at all. Opportunities To Improve: If it were me, I would invest in higher-end OF glassware, work with Kwik Ice or similar to get the larger chunks of clear ice, stamp the ice, and widen the selection of whiskies and scotch you can't find anywhere else. Also, the down-tempo LoFi music was good, but it made it feel too much like a library instead of feeling more upbeat. Also, perhaps invest in coasters vs. black napkins to elevate the experience. ---- Summary: This is an excellent bar for that area and is likely the perfect setting for the demographic there. It's quiet enough to hold a conversation without yelling, and if you are in the mood for a cocktail before a movie or dinner, it's worth checking out. I was seated upstairs which I thoroughly enjoyed as it felt more intimate, almost like being in a private library. I ordered "The Library" cocktail while my date opted for a non-alcoholic drink. This cozy and chic speakeasy is located between Keepers and Oasthouse in south austin. I just so happened to take myself out on a date ;) and made friends with a nice couple at the bar in Keepers. The wife was a teacher like me so we immediately hit it off. I have the gift of gab and so did her husband. They asked if I knew about the speakeasy and I did not so the lovely wife went to go check it out to see if there was room. During busy times, you need a reservation and I can see why. The place is tiny but perfect. It would be a lovely spot for a date night or intimate girl's night for some good gossip and catch up time. My new friends are regulars to these spots so they knew the bartender and we all became friends with another couple at the bar. I ordered a French 75. It was perfect! Southwest Austin has been waiting for a speakeasy lounge spot and they finally got one. Highly recommend making a reservation if you go during peak times/days. When we arrived at 7:30 on a Friday night, we were glad to have a rez. The space is quite small, but cozy and tucked in between two restaurants. There are three stories and we were seated on the first floor with a view of the bougie bar. We tried one craft cocktail and one classic cocktail and we enjoyed both. Service was super friendly and informative. I do think they could kick it up a notch in speed. Met up with some friends for a girls night out at Daisy. I live in South Austin, and was excited to see a bar with downtown vibes this far south of the river. Daisy is located in a space shared with two other restaurants. It was slightly difficult to find which we actually enjoyed, like a true speakeasy. The only thing I will say is look for the daisies (duh!). The drinks are all priced around $16 - $18 which we thought was a little expensive for the location. However, it was clear that each drink contained carefully selected and high quality ingredients, and we all enjoyed our cocktails. We also split a charcuterie board which was tasty. The space was very cute, and I think this would be a great spot for dates as well as future GNOs. I do wish they had little lamps for each table, because it was very dark inside and actually difficult to read the menu. However, the darkness did fit the speakeasy vibes and that wont stop me from visiting again (even though I felt ridiculous using my phone light to see). Amazing little speakeasy-themed cocktail bar nestled between Oasthouse and Keepers. Located in the parking lot adjacent to Mopac and Slaughter Lane. Now they really have it all in one parking lot. --Oasthouse for sports fans and families (playground and large tvs included); --Daisy Lounge for hipsters and adventurers (three story speakeasy cloaked in curtains and darkness); --Keepers for an adult seafood restaurant/date. --Alamo Drafthouse for a movie before or after. Now all they need is an apartment complex next to Alamo to live in. Reservations are required. Four guests maximum per reservation. 1.5 hour time limit. There are four tiny apps: nuts, pomegranate olives, lobster rolls, and corn nuts. Definitely recommend the pomegranate olives. Drink menu is sorted into classic, adventurous, etc. - very well organized. I tried the Sodies (St. George Botanivore Gin, Lillet Rose, Raspberry, Lemon, Ginger Beer) and the South South. Both were delicious. Definitely recommend getting a table on the third floor if there's a way to request it. That way you can see the whole place. We all joked about checking out the books on the shelf, when the shelf starts twenty feet in the air. The atmosphere is quiet with good music and a library feel. Daisy is similar to Prohibition ATX, Midnight Cowboy, and Roosevelt Room. Each place has their own perks. I really was impressed by the way they repurposed an old foyer into a three-story restaurant. This little speakeasy style bar is just adorable, and frankly I don't know of any others like it in south Austin so I'm really glad to have it here! The entrance is subtle of course, if you're walking toward keepers or oasthouse, there's a single large black door with a daisy above it which is the entrance. The place itself is small, there are only 5 small tables along the wall with a little couch/coffee table area. There is however, also an upstairs which I didn't venture to that has more tables. And of course you can sit at the bar, which has 4-5 seats. So it's a very cozy, quaint place. The vibes are indeed somewhat library though, and I came here alone to have a drink and read a book so I found the low light ambiance perfect. My server Desiree was helpful and sweet, as was the bartender. I ordered the "Daisy," which was one of the floral cocktails on the menu with lavender and lemon. It was smooth and lovely, somewhat like a bees knees but with a bit more citrus/herbal tone underneath. Drinks are a bit on the pricier side ($17), which I suppose goes with the more upscale vibe. Nevertheless, I came wearing an oversized shirt with leggings and a white beanie, and I didn't feel out of place. Other details: they do take reservations but I didn't make one, and when I came they were able to seat me for up to 1.5 hrs. The bathrooms are shared with oasthouse kitchen, they're just standard - nothing particularly fancy about them. We popped in on a whim looking for something to do that wasn't too far. Looked this place up and decided to give it a shot. The door is located beneath the flower between the two restaurants (both menus for those places looked great, though we didn't try either this time. We'll definitely be back on an empty stomach!) We were received, sat and given water and menus all within a minute or two at most. When we went in there were just two people working, one of which being the manager, Jonny. Both were attentive and knew their menu well, and I was very pleased with both of my drinks, as was my companion. The prices I admit are what I expect to see for cocktails within the Austin area (which can feel a bit steep), but the attention to detail seemed worth it, especially if you consider yourself a fan of an elevated or atypical cocktail. We went on a Tuesday (with no reservation), so it was very quiet and an excellent place to chat. From the look and sound of it after talking to the staff, I strongly recommend a reservation if you're a group larger than 2, especially on a weekend. Jonny was kind enough to show us around and walk us through some renovations for their upstairs space meant to accommodate larger groups. He seemed passionate about what they were doing and the future of the business which made us want to come back. I definitely recommend! After seeing the Daisy Lounge on TikTok, I immediately had to add it to my bucket list of places to visit. When I arrived, I was worried I wasn't going to find it, as it's tucked in between two restaurants in the suburbs, Oasthouse and Keepers, and sits behind an urgent care. Pro tip: Look for the large daisy above a black door-- you have arrived. Daisy Lounge is moody, intimate, and perfect for a yap session or a first date. While, they offer light bites, the food comes from the neighboring restaurants. If you're looking for a full meal, I'd recommend grabbing dinner next door first, then heading here for drinks. The space is small, but spans three stories tall. I suggest sitting on either the second or third floor, as the first floor gets pretty loud. Easily, the Daisy Lounge is one of my favorite craft cocktail lounges in Austin. The drinks are amazinggg and cost the same as a sad Ranch Water in West or East Sixth. read more

Amir has yet again has opened a new concept in his already bustling Oasthouse and Keepers restaurant. Luckily, we were invited to a Soft/New opening tonight. It is hard to believe that this area used to be the entrance to Oasthouse/Keepers. It has been renovated to a speakeasy with an intimate vibe. You are welcomed when you enter to darkness and then you eyes adjust quickly to see wonderful chandeliers, dark walls and a petite bar. Around the walls are comfy sofa's, cozy tables. There is a spiral staircase reaching upwards to the roof with another table available it seems. Patrick greeted us with a wonderful big smile and we cozied up to the bar for a drink. This is a cocktail bar, so specialty drinks fill the menu. All created by Patrick himself. He will expertly take you through the menu options. Tonight I choose the South South a wonderful concoction of South American Rhum's as well as a nice sour crispness to the finish. The egg whites provides this drink with an overall smoothness. Wonderful. Suzie choose the Green Drink. A Mint Infused Botanist Gin, Dry Vermouth, Cucumber Water, Iris Water, Lime and Tonic. Whoa. I had a sip, not usually a fan of Gin, but I found this to be very refreshing and tasty. Currently, they had a few very light bites, nuts and a Lychee Tart which looked outstanding! Caviar service will be coming on in the next week or so, which I cannot wait to dive into. So far, this concept will be wonderful for a couple of drinks before you head out for a full dinner right there with Keepers/Oasthouse or one of the other options in the hood. We were on the third floor - and we were on cozy chairs and couches looking down on the rest of the speakeasy. I visited the Daisy lounge again. Although I really enjoyed it the thing that I didn't like was the lighting ;it was very bright in there. I actually asked the bartender to turn down the lights, but they were unable to do so. It definitely affects the atmosphere. I visited another speakeasy called the equipment room and it was dim and cozy. It really adds to the feeling of it being a speakeasy. TL/DR: neat aesthetics, cool concept, very convenient, doesn't match up to the best. Recommendation: stick to the menu. Context: I'm a connoisseur of high-end speakeasy craft cocktail lounges. Don't get out much any more so I don't mind paying up for a premium cocktail and a unique experience. I'm comparing this place to the best cocktail lounges in Austin - particularly the speakeasies. Think Garage Bar, Midnight Cowboy, Roosevelt Room, Drinkwell. The good: convenient location with easy parking: Buzzing in here and pulling almost right up to the door to park on a Saturday night was almost kind of bizarre. I was looking for an easy, last minute option where I wouldn't have to fight downtown traffic and crowds and pay to park - check. The atmosphere: the place is beautiful, unique and charming. You duck in through a black curtain behind a nondescript door. I didn't get the full tour - we were seated downstairs - but I really liked the vibe - there was a sense of occasion in there. Wish I had checked out the upper floors. The online reservstion system worked very well and I didn't need to hunt around for a secret code to get in the door. I was also able to get a reservation on Saturday afternoon for that night - a rarity with a place like this. The average: the menu: the flimsy, small menu was very limited. There were some classics on there and some signature creations. 5 beers and maybe 9 wines took up a good chunk of the menu; but no one is coming here for beer and wine - would have preferred more cocktail choices and a spirits list. And a few basic snacks like charcuterie. I was surprised to see quite a few classic/tiki cocktails not represented. No list of spirits to choose from. The cocktails: ordered off-menu to see what these guys were capable of (and to order what I was in the mood for). Pisco Sour - they don't have pisco (first red flag). Switched to a whiskey sour after verifying that they could do an egg white sour. This one was off. It looked beautiful but they clearly used Mrs. T's plastic jug sour mix (which we later noticed behind the bar - red flag number 2. No craft cocktail lounge should have that series of plastic jugs behind the bar). It didn't taste great at all - definitely not done craft/traditional style) and certainly was not worthy of the quality bourbon and other ingredients and craftsmanship that went into its presentation. Very strange. Also they didn't have Buffalo Trace, which seemed odd since it looked like they had a good selection on the wall - the disinterested server said they might have it next door (this place is connected to two restaurants) as if he was going to offer to check and use it for our cocktails, but he didn't. Weird and unhelpful. Ok let's stick to the menu. Daisy Old Fashioned: solid old fashioned done with lemon oil well expressed and a proper luxardo cherry. Solid. Whiskey forward. It was good but not special/memorable. Moral of the story - the cocktails seem hit-or-miss - I recommend sticking to the menu selections. When you are paying $16 per drink and you have a reservation at a fancy craft cocktail lounge, you have high expectations. The bad: the service: our inattentive server seemed disinterested. Probably would have had another drink or two if he was helpful and engaged (and made recommendations about what their best cocktails were), so they left money on the table with our reservation. Asked for a whiskey recommendation for a particular cocktail and he basically just shrugged his shoulders and said "bourbon I guess" - thanks. He gave us each a small glass of water and proceeded to not refill them so I had to keep asking. I think they are supposed to put a little decanter of water on the table, which he eventually did. Served ended up taking two guys on a tour and didn't come back for about 20 minutes so we were on our own without service for quite awhile - no one else checked on us and making eye contact with other servers and bartenders didn't work. You would think the two empty cocktails and two empty waters would have been enough to get someone to check on us, but the servers and bartenders seemed to be in their own world. And it wasn't busy in there at all so that wasn't the problem. I realize I could have gotten up from the corner where I was wedged in and asked someone for help, but not the experience I felt like I was paying for. Bottom line: if you are hoping this will stand up to the best in town when it comes to quality cocktails and service, it won't. If you want a convenient and novel experience and are willing to go with the flow and stick to the menu, this could be for you. I probably won't be back to try it again - too many better options in town for the same price. read more

The ambience and the decor are amazing. It's almost hidden and secretive. The cocktails are absolutely top-notch. The bartenders are really skilled. However, our evening was completely overshadowed by a group of loud, obnoxious, and cursing patrons seated right next to us. What was supposed to be a chill Saturday night was anything but. Once they finally left, we thought we might salvage the evening, but then another group of women came in, somehow even louder than the first. It ruined the experience for both my boyfriend and I, as well as a nearby couple who seemed equally frustrated. We were hoping for a speakeasy/lounge vibe, similar to Here Nor There or Eden (both places we love and frequent), but instead, we got what felt like a rowdy bar in a setting that should have been intimate and low-key. It was nearly impossible to have a conversation, and while I don't expect the waitstaff to play bouncer, it would have been nice if someone addressed the noise level. If I wanted a Sixth Street-style bar experience, that's where I would have gone. read more

Wow! I was so excited to find out about the Daisy Lounge! From the beautiful decor to the friendly staff to the delicious drinks and a "community" feel....we will definitely be back many times! Of particular note was our bartender, Iggy, who made delicious drinks including some off-menu and "never been done before" drinks. While the drinks were really great, they took about 20 minutes to come out. We made a reservation for 10:45 and didn't receive our first drink until 11:15. As soon as we received it, we were told they were doing last call. They did not close until midnight. I have never experienced a last call so early at any bar or speak easy before. I almost made a reservation for 11... good thing I didn't apparently! If you want to make last call that early, do not allow for reservations until 11. Lights were too bright and seating was not great. Not sure I will ever come back when there are an abundance of great speakeasy options to choose from in Austin. read more

I wish I could give this place 10 stars. Daisy Lounge is exactly what south Austin needed, a true cocktail bar. The use of space is very well done considering it's secretly sandwiched between two other restaurants in the same building. You need a reservation to get a seat, but the staff is extremely welcoming, friendly and accommodating. This is definitely the perfect place for a small party looking for exquisite cocktails to sip while enjoying the intimate atmosphere. The cocktails themselves are perfection. They have the best balance of flavors without being too spirit-forward in taste. I love that there are wine, beer and mocktail options too. A little something for everyone. Well done Daisy Lounge. Finally! High quality speakeasy style cocktails arrive in Southwest Austin. Great vibe. Small, but cool library set-up, ground floor is tight fit with smaller tables. Third floor walk up is more roomy and chill with plush chairs. Good variety of classic and experimental drinks. Strawberry Tart was absolutely to die for! Great way to top off the evening. read more
