BREAKING: Sundays are now the best day of the week. Because at The Corner Bar in Austin, you can spend just $15 at the bar and walk away with a plate of Brown's BBQ that will make your taste buds cry happy tears. Yes, this is real. Yes,it only happens on Sundays. Yes, it's dog-friendly, so bring your pup and your appetite. Let's talk about that food for a second. The brisket: melt-in-your-mouth, smoky, juicy perfection. It practically shreds itself out of respect. The mac & cheese: creamy, rich, and cheesy enough to make you rethink all other versions of mac & cheese you've ever had. The coleslaw: bright, crunchy, and the perfect tangy counterbalance to all the meat and cheese. Honestly? Slaw doesn't usually excite me, but this one got me. Together, they form the BBQ trinity you didn't know you needed. The bar itself No fluff, all fun. The drinks are affordable, strong, and served up by friendly bartenders who don't judge when you whisper "Can I get my BBQ plate now?" after your second drink. And yes -- dogs are 100% welcome. I was surrounded by tail-wagging approval as I devoured my brisket. If my dog could write Yelp reviews, she'd give it 5 paws. TL;DR: Spend $15. Eat BBQ that tastes like it was made by pitmaster angels. Hang out with dogs. Drink cheap beer. Question every other way you've ever spent a Sunday. Brilliant Dining

Parking is tough to find here. The indoor space leaves the doors open and lets the fresh air in. The drinks are good. The bartenders are hip. The best thing about it is the Kiin Di food truck in its parking lot, which serves the best Thai food i've ever had (and I've had a lot). The worst thing about it was the other food truck in their parking lot, Native Austin BBQ, because that food truck blasts its own music, which clashed with and made it impossible to enjoy the music coming from the bar. Sitting on the porch of the bar was like listening to a way of sound waves. That said, it's a great bar :-)

It's a bar. It's on a corner. It has a couple food trailers. Bartenders are cool and the drinks are cheap. It does get busy and can take a while to order. Another employee or two would probably get them another star.

    Lazy days....and cold beer!

Wonderful little "do drop in bar" Strong assortment of craft beers on tap and strong likker pours. There are daily specials and if you hurry they offer some unique holiday cocktails. Grab a bag of gratis popcorn go sit out on the patio and watch the show on South Lamar. There is a BBQ trailer out front but it were closed the day we were there. There are a few TVs inside and out if you want to catch a game. Friendly service, a great chill atmosphere, and good cocktails make the corner bar a great venue to get your drank on.

Great experience here- smaller bar but has big TV screens, great food trucks in the parking lot, and the staff was very friendly. Highlight was the cold brew Irish coffee- highly recommend!

When you come to a place like this you don't expect to get the real moment but the biggest moment about this bar is the people that surround being.

It's a decent bar with decent staff. The parking can be an issue. I don't have more to say beyond that but I had to hit the minimum.

There's this huge building that looks like an unassuming co-working space, but it turns out that there is a whole fun world behind it! They have a great setup: there's a little playground, a paddle board court, corn hole, etc to keep kids entertained and they had a huge screen set up to watch the game. And tents! Thank you for having tents and misters! The ambience is spot-on. Overall, we were happy with everything that we ordered to eat. The buffalo cauliflower bites were a bit too saucy, but nice and smoky. The CM Chopped Salad--which was NOT chopped--had a ton of good veggies and a fun dressing. Our daughter managed to finagle two orders of chicken fingers and those were slightly better than the normal junk that comes out. Cold beers on tap, Aperol Spritzes on a hot day--what is there to complain about? We were glad to be leaving when we did because the place was starting to get slammed and rowdy and not as appealing, so be mindful of the partying witching hour. But for a late afternoon World Cup meet-up with friends, this was a good time. Four stars.

For reasons that make no sense to any experienced summer festival-goer, the Q2 powers-that-be decided to make this a "no re-entry" event, meaning that attendees are basically locked in the stadium with very few options for relief from the heat. Thank heaven for PointsBet Sports Bar! PointsBet Austin is located inside of Q2 stadium on the north end near the Zebra Gate, up some stairs just to your right as you enter the gate. They have cold air-conditioning, at least one phone recharging station, a few table games, seating for at least 50 people, and standing room for a couple hundred others. Plus, there's a huge horseshoe bar serving plenty of canned and mixed beverages. The whole north wall is floor-to-ceiling windows, providing plenty of natural light. Lastly, there are 18 flatscreens around the walls showing various sporting events and during our concert, a couple were streaming a live view of the concert stage. As expected, prices were "high" (like everything else in Austin these days), but they were in line with pricing available at the other beverage stands outside in the stadium, so we didn't pay any more than we would have out there for the same drink. According to their website, PointsBet opens 3 hours before soccer matches on regular Q2 game days, and it's one of the few air-conditioned places where non-VIP attendees can get a break from the goings-on outside.

For me the Salisbury steak was the best I've ever had. I'm from the Midwest and that was a staple but when I got to Cali it was rare to find. Fun fact we own a family restaurant since 1983 and that was on the menu but people really didn't order it like that so we discontinued it. Maybe if it tasted like yalls it would've worked. Anyway whenever we are in Austin again we are coming straight there. I love the popcorn snack before the meal as well and that could've been my dinner by itself. I opted just got an Arnold Palmer but the drink menu had some cute cocktails and mocktails, as well as a nice selection of beer and wine. Instead of bread, our server brought us a basket of seasoned popcorn. The popcorn had almost like a Cajun flair, but it wasn't spicy. It reminded me of the Ground Round chain from when I was a little girl. We decided to try the corndog shrimp appetizer. I couldn't decide on an entree because everything looked so good, so I did the Parmesan chicken and my coworker did the steak salad. The shrimp arrived so quickly with four large pieces of shrimp on a stick wrapped in corn dog batter and fried to a golden brown, with a blueberry mustard dipping sauce. The shrimp were delicious and while I didn't get much of the blueberry in the mustard, I enjoyed the sweetness it provided. My Parmesan chicken was a crispy and juicy breaded chicken cutlet with a lemon cream, artichoke hearts, and what appeared to be prosciutto on top. It was served with a side of pesto couscous with grape tomatoes and cucumbers. I wish I had ordered mashed potatoes on the side, because I wanted something to soak up the lemon cream sauce, which was the highlight of the chicken. We also were served 3 mini cornbread muffins with honey butter. My coworker said the salad was just okay, and was a little on the small side. The desserts were definitely a MUST and if you visit Moonshine and don't save room for the Espresso Brownie or the Peanut Butter Pie, you're going to regret it. The brownie was so fudgey and warm and served with ice cream. It was decadent. The peanut butter pie was the biggest slab of PB pie I've ever had with a thick Oreo crust. I wish I had someone with me to share it, it was huge. Overall, if I lived in the area I would definitely be back to try other things.
