Love the liberty, it's a fun bar. And the food truck out back in the patio area (couldn't find it on Yelp), absolutely incredible. Hands down the best Chinese food I've had in Austin, and it's from a food truck behind The Liberty on East 6th called Manna Kitchen. I got the Beef Fried Noodles (the one in the photo), and they were absolutely incredible. The beef was super tender, the noodles were perfectly chewy, and the sauce had that deep, savory flavor you only get from someone who really knows what they're doing. Every bite was just spot-on. them on Yelp), absolutely incredible.

Fast service. Great frozen cocktails especially on a hot summer day. Happy hour prices are fantastic.

A total vibe. Good drinks, cool space, pet friendly, and has a photobooth ?!?! I don't need much else tbh We stopped here twice in kne day because we loved it so much! It definitely has a dive bar feel but in a cool and hip way. There is a lot of indoor seating and inside is a bit dim/dark. It's nice and cool though for those hot Texas days. We opted to sit outside though. Outside there's tons of seating though the tables are best shared. We got to know several new friends just by sitting by them. There is a food truck out there so you can get some snacks. The bar also has a wide selection and they do have ciders (win for me). My favorite part is definitely that it's dog friendly on the back patio. I even did a little photobooth shoot with both my pups which made my night. It's definitely my new favorite Austin spot

If there is something called a superb dive bar then I would say The Liberty is that bar. It's not fancy. It's just a cool bar staffed by cool people where cool people hang out. There's a bar area, a commons / arcade game area and a cool outdoor back patio with a food truck, which is an awesome place to hang when the weather is right. The beer list is solid. You shouldn't have any trouble finding something you'll like.

PROS: this place has a pool table, arcade games, a nice bar and outside area with a good truck parked outside. The people here are nice and the prices are good CONS: they do not have a menu and only rely on the food truck. The food truck only has 6-8 items as well and they're all overpriced OVERALL: I would come here if you're thinking of playing games or having a drink, but not for food

The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. I'm not coming back.

If you're coming here definitely do yourself the favor and Uber as parking is incredibly difficult to find there. Getting in is very quick and efficient and once you're in you're greeted by live music and a fun open space to get drinks and hang out with friends. There are multiple different places to get drinks from which is nice as you can choose how long you would like to wait in a line. Drinks are not unreasonably priced and they were good as well. The ability to sit throughout the area, get up and dance, or just listen to music makes this a great spot to stay entertained for a while. We came when there was an event being put on by Zyn where they were giving out free drinks to nicotine users which was funny because why not get you hooked on nicotine AND alcohol. But seriously, there are typically food trucks and more things going on here but the Zyn trucks took up those spots which was a bit of a letdown but we're assuming that's just a one off event. Between a good band, decent drinks, and a good amount of seating options, this is a good spot to sit down with some friends and just vibe out for the night. We'd give it a recommendation if you're looking for something fun but not too much fun on a night on East 6th.

The service was great, albeit there wasn't a big crowd. Everything came out quick and the staff were super attentive. The music was fun and vibes were great! I got to say that some happy hour prices were totally reasonable. Not boozy libations... but ok. However, $17 for a small cocktail? Joking right? Prices were from $5-$17 for everything from draught, premixed, and mixed but I feel like for that price point you are competing with bars that can be more creative with their drinks for a few bucks more. Is it worth a go? Sure! Recommend. Looking for basic cocktails at a reasonable price point- maybe. However they do focus on Mescal themed drinks if that's your thing so it's a bit of a niche. Comparing this place to legends like Roosevelt room isn't fair- but at least RR are heavy pourers! I left far from boozy which was fine for a weekday. IMO- Charge less for cocktails on happy hour. First of all - I am a happy hour girlie - I love a deal on a cocktail and a snack. Happy our is daily from 4 - 6 pm and it features $1 oysters, select $10 cocktails, and $2 off wines by the glass. In addition to oysters, there are awesome items like fingerling potatoes in Caesar dip, pasta sopresina with mussels, chicken wings, and a burger on the happy hour menu. I was really impressed with everything, especially the pasta. We ordered a side of foccacia to soak up all the sauce, it was divine! I started with La Brasa for my drink - which was a spicy tequila based cocktail with mango. I also got an Aperol spritz which was the size of my head, I loved it! We finished happy hour with a sweet treat that our local expert said we MUST try - the lasagna mille-feuille. This is a layered lasanga-inspired dessert with cream, crispy pastry, and candied pecan. For being so rich in flavor, this dish was light and airy and the perfect way to end our happy hour. The service here was friendly, and the place was packed! We made it for happy hour and left while live jazz was just starting. While it was a dreary day on our visit, I could definitely see myself having cocktails and oysters on the patio if it was a sunny day - it's so cute out there! While we didn't drive since we were traveling - there is a lot at the restaurant which is on the small side, and a parking garage across the street.
