Where a woman can find some peace.....bathroom. Clean and spacious .

Blues music night is why I came. Easy sign up at 7:30ish. Real easy and friendly space for jamming. Tonight there are saxophones, several guitarists.

First review for King Bee Lounge in 14 months! That's like an FTR... almost. Thanks, pandemic! Only discovered this place as they re-opened with my favorite pop-up turned food truck, Golden Castle. Amazing sliders, but we're not here to talk about that. Damn, this bar is cool. Nice staff and affordable drinks. $5 beers when everyone else in the neighborhood charges $7 or $8 even. Cool little outside patio, can't wait to see the inside popping off.

Good vibe, friendly staff and nice cocktails. They have a good sense of music and as a bonus, they have a good truck I. Their backyard.

Dive bar vibes, pretty good cocktails - we all ordered Bees Knees. How could you not? Overall, nothing super special about this bar IMHO. I've heard they have live jazz some nights, but there wasn't anything going on when we were there. We ordered pizza, but it wasn't great either. We actually had a good amount left and nobody wanted to take it to go (which is saying a lot for broke ass college kids!!). 3/5 - it's the neighborhood bar you go to when you don't want to get too rowdy.

Lovely little east side gem. The bartenders were attentive and make a damn good martini. Really enjoyed the Wednesday night stand up. I felt there was plenty of seating, the sound was good, and the crowd were laid back folk. I'll definitely be back.

Me to the bartender: A Last Word cocktail is one of my favorites, but I swap out the gin for mezcal. How's your frozen Last Word? Bartender: It's pretty f&*#ing delicious Me: Cool, I'll get one. Me to the bartender upon closing out: You were right, your frozen Last Word is pretty f&*#ing delicious Bartender: Nice (big smile) King Bee Lounge could easily be seen as a dive bar (with a quintessential Austin patio in the back). It has all the signs of a dive bar and for all intents and purposes it is one and that's not a bad thing. It also happens to be one that makes some pretty tasty frozen cocktails which are dangerously refreshing during any Austin heat wave a.k.a. our 5 1/2 month summers. Though their frozen Bees Knees cocktail (probably their signature drink) had too much honey flavor for my liking and I like honey. However, the honey did taste like real honey and not artificial at all which is great. I hear their other cocktails are pretty good too. I plan on checking them out as well as repeating that f&*#ing delicious frozen Last Word on return visits.

When I heard LGWSwan was going away, I was so sadddddd. Blues night! Dark corners! Great food in the back with that guy that took forever! Billy has remained true to the feel of the spot and understands, respects and promotes its history. I dig the renovations. The space works much better now, with the bar up front and the band in back. It feels like all the pieces got put back where they were supposed to be. They're serving some darn good pizzas from the bar and I'll never turn away a frozen bees knees. I'm guessing as they get bigger, they'll put more staff behind that bar or put up a temporary spot in another party of King Bee. I can see lines getting pretty outta hand unless there are more folks to handle the more complicated drinks. Great spot, cool new-old look and I hear blues night is still happening. See ya monday?

Great, dark dive bar with good drinks, pool table, and a nice patio outside with a food truck. Chill place to grab a cold one.

The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. I'm not coming back.

If you're coming here definitely do yourself the favor and Uber as parking is incredibly difficult to find there. Getting in is very quick and efficient and once you're in you're greeted by live music and a fun open space to get drinks and hang out with friends. There are multiple different places to get drinks from which is nice as you can choose how long you would like to wait in a line. Drinks are not unreasonably priced and they were good as well. The ability to sit throughout the area, get up and dance, or just listen to music makes this a great spot to stay entertained for a while. We came when there was an event being put on by Zyn where they were giving out free drinks to nicotine users which was funny because why not get you hooked on nicotine AND alcohol. But seriously, there are typically food trucks and more things going on here but the Zyn trucks took up those spots which was a bit of a letdown but we're assuming that's just a one off event. Between a good band, decent drinks, and a good amount of seating options, this is a good spot to sit down with some friends and just vibe out for the night. We'd give it a recommendation if you're looking for something fun but not too much fun on a night on East 6th.

The service was great, albeit there wasn't a big crowd. Everything came out quick and the staff were super attentive. The music was fun and vibes were great! I got to say that some happy hour prices were totally reasonable. Not boozy libations... but ok. However, $17 for a small cocktail? Joking right? Prices were from $5-$17 for everything from draught, premixed, and mixed but I feel like for that price point you are competing with bars that can be more creative with their drinks for a few bucks more. Is it worth a go? Sure! Recommend. Looking for basic cocktails at a reasonable price point- maybe. However they do focus on Mescal themed drinks if that's your thing so it's a bit of a niche. Comparing this place to legends like Roosevelt room isn't fair- but at least RR are heavy pourers! I left far from boozy which was fine for a weekday. IMO- Charge less for cocktails on happy hour.
