I really tried to enjoy this place for the first time and had the worst experience! The level of professionalism is beneath McDonald criteria. I paid almost $100 for one of their bartenders to cost me my mental state and livelihood because she knew Security would remove any un rudely characters for causing bad representation but employ bad representation. read more

I was in DC and attended the Grand Opening on Friday night. I've seen a few and Kick Axe DC has no equal when it comes to axe throwing venues. The distinctive lodge-style theme is well executed. Plenty of room to spread out, and plenty of places to relax and chat, or watch TV between throwing. The space and decor was well planned and organized. The large bar at the front of the space had plenty of room for walk ups to get a drink. The staff was friendly and helfpul, and the axe throwing instruction was excellent, with great attention paid to safety. If you haven't tried axe throwing yet, this is the place to do it, and if it's not everyone in your group's cup of tea, it's still a great place to socialize and have drinks. Fabulous new place! You can come with family and friends and enjoy a few hours of Fun! The Ax Expert gives directions and suggestions for throwing the Ax and really encourages you. It is thrilling when you get a solid hit. It was a lot of Fun - I will definitely go back again and bring more folks to enjoy the excitement. We came to this place on 05/06/23 for my husband's birthday. We were a party of 8 for axe throwing. Let me start off with Cash our instructor was awesome, loved his enthusiasm. What, I didn't like about this place was the lack of service. Our waitress was ok, not super attentive. So, we played the games. I reserved the den for my party after the axe throwing. Mind you, I see people just casually sitting over there, just before we went over. The area is nasty, the chairs are dirty, the games were missing pieces or the needed to be wiped down. Now, as we look over the menu because we order ala carte. We were told there was no chicken or beef for the tacos, in which case we wanted those particular tacos. I'm like those are the main meats for taco and you don't have it. So, I'm not happy with this, so we order other items off the menu what was left. I asked to speak to the manager, he was apologetic and gave me the reason why they were out of meat was due to Cinco de mayo. Really not my problem, but I was like ok. He said he was going to go to the food truck and see if he could get us some meat taco, that never happened. We had already ordered and I feel it he wanted to make it right, he would have just brought some tacos to our area as a comp. Eyebrow raised at that point. The chips were mainly crumbs and broken; the other food was just ok, highly disappointed. Oh, he said he extended our time in the den, but why we didn't need it. I spent $44 per person to throw axes, and additional $150+ for the den. I would not recommend this place at all.... sorry. I was highly disappointed. read more

100% recommend this place. Such a fun group activity. Staff were thoughtful, helpful and friendly. Food was surprisingly good, considering that is not the main focus while you are hurling axes. Lounge spaces for drinks when you are done with your axe time are inviting, comfortable, and great for larger groups. read more

So I took my date to kick axe last night and we had a amazing time just sitting at the bar. This place is what happens when great ideas are done right. Pooh Bear (aka Adam) was great, attentive and nice. Place is fairly new so it wasn't super packed but many options for games.
