Tons of fun and definitely keeps things from getting repetitive. The staff were friendly and helpful--they give you a quick rundown on how to throw, then let your group take the lead. It's a laid-back vibe, which we liked, but if you're looking for more hands-on coaching or lessons, you'll need to flag them down again. Food options are limited--basically pizza, chips, and chicken nuggets--but that's not really the focus here. What they do have is a solid beer selection, reasonably priced at $4-$6 a can, which is a nice bonus. Only downside: it was pretty warm inside. We started throwing in leagues here at end of 2022 and have been enjoying it since. There's bowling football (kinda), darts, and occasionally corn hole. In the summer, there's food trucks and a restaurant has opened at the end of the parking lot. The drink variety is pretty great with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages along with snacks. You get coaching when you go in for a group to help you learn how to throw and get to play a variety of games. If you have enough time, you can try throwing the big axe. What I like most about Urban is that the employees are super welcoming and the axe community is too if you decide to join a league. You can learn to tweak your throw from a variety of different people and hone in on your technique. You don't feel bad when you're first not great at throwing since so many people want to help. There are various groups that host fundraising events and charities that collaborate like BARCS and Baltimore Humane Society. Give Urban a try!

The rooms are tiny. The shards of broken glass got in my boots :( Ouchie. The earmuffs don't work well so also my ears were also ... ouchie. The staff has an attitude that will grow on you, I'll just say that lol. The inside smells like sweat and beer. They serve snacks and alcohol if you like that.

The space is quite large with seating areas and the hatchet throwing bays. There were also other forms of entertainment including an air hockey table, checkers and the eye and hook game outside. I will say there was a learning curve to figuring out how to throw the hatchets properly but the attendant was nice enough to walk us through it and give us some tips. Once I got the hang of it, I had tons of fun. We had signed up for an hour and it went by very quickly. One cool part about this place is that they have fun games that you can play while throwing including a hatchet throwing blackjack where the first person to 21 points wins.
