This was not my first time axe throwing but for the other in the party, it was. We came for my moms birthday. My mother had the best time! The staff is friendly and offer great coaching. Ask for Kim is she's there. She's amazing. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because their is limited space so the lanes are shorter and you can't throw with 2 hands. If you can't tell, I'm a two hander. Outside of that, we have such a great time. If it's your birthday, let them know and they will give you a balloon to pop during your lane time. This is a small business and seems to be family owned. Which I absolutely love! Definitely coming back!!!

My son had is 13th birthday party here and I can't even begin to say how much fun these boys had! Our instructor, Sarah, was amazing and helped guide all of them in proper throwing technique. They got lots of practice then the games began. We had the projector lane so we started with a zombie target and the game cornhole, then switched to tic-tac-toe, which became the most intense game of tic-tac-toe any of us ever experienced . My son even really loved that he got to cut his cake with an axe. Every kid (and even moms) had a BLAST and I would 100% recommend this place for your child's next birthday party or even a fun night out with friends!!

First timers and we had a blast. Chris was awesome and made us feel really comfortable. We paid the extra $10 which included the knives, ninja stars, etc. The different options made it a great experience. We can't wait to go back!!

I surprised my husband with this for our 14th wedding anniversary and it truly made our day amazing! The owner and the manager are awesome and made the entire experience unforgettable. Not only will we be returning but I can't wait to take my children!

First time axe throwing. What a great experience The Virginia Axe provided. The owners are some of the friendliest and nicest you will ever meet. First class customer service the moment we walked in. They really made our group feel at home. They were patient and fun in teaching our group of 7. We will definitely be back.

Looking for something fun and different? Come to this place and throw some axes and or knives. From the minute we entered we were treated with great customer service from every employee. They gave great instruction for first time axe throwers, with some useful pointers and coaching throughout the process. Once they felt we were getting the hang of it they gave us a fun competitive game to play. If I were a local I would definitely return to this business. This is a great place for date night, team building , stress relief, hanging with friends, etc.

I took my husband here for his birthday and we had a great time! The staff take time at the beginning to teach you how to throw and they give you pointers if your axe throwing isn't quite cutting it. In addition, they started us both off with the same axe but after seeing how we were throwing, suggested different ones for both of us. This made our night much more enjoyable because we were doing better. They have snacks and drinks for purchase and they also have games for partners once you get the hang of it. I added on the package that teaches you how to throw knives and other fun items, and our coach Chris the manager, really did a great job. We definitely recommend!

This place belong on the list to visit when in the Richmond area. I had never tried throwing an axe before and this place made the experience amazing! The staff was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and great at instructing. I had never done anything like this and their staff was able to teach me how to in a matter of minutes. They made this experience so much fun. They take the time to help you find the right stance and show you how to throw. Within a short amount of time we were ready to play games. We had a great time and I will definitely come back to do this again when I return. Don't be intimidated because you don't think you can do it, they break it all down and show you exactly how to do it. Tons of fun and very enjoyable.

My adult son and I spent some father/son time this Saturday, ax throwing for the first time. We had a blast. Enjoyed both ax throwing (easy to get the hang of after a few throws) plus trying knife throwing. Owners were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They explained the different types of equipment and how competitive throwing works. They made sure we were safe and having fun. We learned a lot on our first visit. Nice, well-lit facility and plenty of parking with easy interstate access. Well worth it and we will definitely be returning.

I appreciated that. But mid way I wanted to back out of the zip line they told me my son wouldn't be able to continue the courses if I did. Some of the staff were annoyed with basic questions like do you have a "trash can "or "do you have smaller gloves" (that are mandatory to wear) but the girl we had was amazing. She was great my son's leg had gotten stuck in a ring on one of the courses she climbed up stupid fast like a spider monkey to help him. But over all it was great and so much fun. I was able to throw comfortably with a walking boot on for a sprained ankle. I appreciated that since I didn't even think of that before reserving a space. I was nervous at first but managed to do ok with the over head two hand throw.
