Had a great time at Kick Ace Throwing. This was my first time axe throwing so I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it, but it was a ton of fun. The staff were friendly and attentive, which added to the experience. They explained the technique for throwing and gave us a few practice throws, which was very helpful. I ended up doing better than I thought I would! I didn't try any of the food, but did order one cocktail. I had a strawberry margarita, which was delicious! My only complaint was the heat! It was so stuffy and hot inside the whole time my group was there. It only got worse as the cross grew. The place could use some fans or something! Other than that, a great first experience. I will definitely be back!

Five Axes and Five Stars! This place is a bullseye! Let me tell you, I've been to a few axe throwing places, but this one really hits the mark. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed. The decor is awesome - a perfect blend of rustic and modern with plenty of comfy spaces to chill and chat with friends. They've clearly put thought into the layout, making it a great spot for groups. Beyond the axe throwing lanes, they've got board games galore and even Jenga! It's the perfect way to unwind between rounds or if you're waiting for your turn. The real MVP of the night? The bartender was fantastic - super friendly, knowledgeable about their drinks, and quick with the service. No long waits at the bar here! And the food? Don't even get me started. The tacos were on point. Crispy tater tots were the perfect side, and the sweet flavored pulled pork mini sliders? Oh. My. Goodness. Those little bites of heaven were the perfect fuel for some serious axe throwing. Speaking of axe throwing, the staff was great at explaining the technique and making sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. They were enthusiastic and made the whole experience comforting. The graphics are pretty low key, and standard. My only feedback would be to update the graphics for the games, the iPad with games kept defaulting to the browser.. upgrade this as well. It felt like every screen has a ring with a bullseye (except tic tac toe). Honestly, I can't recommend this place enough. Whether you're looking for a fun night out with friends, a unique date idea, or even a team-building activity, this axe throwing venue has it all. Great atmosphere, delicious food, amazing drinks, and plenty of entertainment beyond just throwing axes. I'll definitely be back!

This place was really cute! Hubby and I had a date night and had a great time. The employee assisted us and was really fun!

We didn't try any food, but the service and ambiance was nice! We plan on visiting again!

So so so fun! I didn't think I would be good at this but the instructors were so nice and helped us get the hang of it. The music is fun, the vibe is fun, all in all a great date night and would definitely come back again!

I had such a blast at Kick Axe Throwing!! There is so much versatility in the space and a whole range of options of things to do!! There's giant Jenga, a bunch of board games, giant Connect 4, a bar with a host of fantastic cocktails to choose from plus so so much more. The music was also really on point and had me adding a bunch of songs to my playlist!! Of course, there is the axe throwing... Which I 10/10 would recommend doing. We made a reservation on the same day, and were lucky there were slots available!! Before starting we got a 5-10 min tutorial on safety rules and technique with throwing the axe , which helped A LOT & also made me super comfortable. I liked the energy a lot -- there were a good range of birthdays being celebrated, dates happening, friends hanging out... It was an all round great vibe!! I'm looking forward to going back and maybe grabbing some drinks, food, and playing some jumbo Jenga!!!

I really had a great time here. Came for a staff social event and I was very hesitant about participating at first but who knew I would end up being a pro. That may have helped make this a five star event for me. Here are some takeaways: Environment Large fun filled space - once you walk in there is the a bar and behind the bar is the area where you throw axes. There, they have the throwing area and kind of this bar area for folks who want to hang back and watch their friends or colleagues throw axes. It was really cool space with neat decorations hanging around the area that really inspires the fun nature. Service All the staff were welcoming and friendly. They have staff that give instructions and help out with the axe area. They are full of great energy and made us feel welcome in the space. Food and drinks The drinks were fine - nothing that stood out but got the job done. I can't speak to price because this was a company event so not sure if you get the bang for you buck here. Overall I had a blast. It was a lot of fun to throw axes - who would've known! Would definitely go back.

Brought my husband here and had a great time. I loved the way the space was set up. Noble assisted us with everything and gave thorough instructions on how to do everything. I didn't order any food or drink. As a first time "axe thrower" I struggled at first but got the hang of it. I had a lot of fun and will definitely be back. Note: street parking wasn't hard and there is a garage.

We celebrated my friend's birthday at Kick Axe Throw, and it was such a fun group experience! This was our first time trying axe throwing, and the vibes were definitely on point. Our axe pro, JJ, made the experience unforgettable with his energy and guidance. We loved having a dedicated axe pro to train us and check in throughout our session--it made us feel confident and safe. A highlight of the night was the 'birthday axe' JJ brought out for the birthday queen--it was such a special touch! If you're looking for a unique and exciting way to celebrate, this is definitely worth trying!

Snoop was amazing! He made our experience so fun! We had a blast throwing axes and playing the tic tac toe game.

Should an impromptu quest to bring a piece of magical gold jewelry to Mordor take place, others can offer their sword, or their bow in assistance, but, now, I can confidently offer my axe! There were great axepectations, and we had an axe-citing time! The venue was axe-elent! The beer was steely cold. The instruction by Conrad was more than enough to come off like we knew what we were doing, to prevent an axe-ident.

A buddy visiting wanted to do something unique - he did the research and recommended ax throwing...is it a thing? Yup, it is and it's a fun thing, actually DC Ax Project makes it an awesome thing. I remembered watching ax throwing on ESPN and the pros made it look so easy...well they are pros for reason, it's not as easy as it seems, but after a few rounds of practice, it's not too bad and it's fun. The best part? A bar + food are available on premises making it a better experience! We signed up online for a timeslot and fortunately, it was week night and not crowded. Not to worry, there are two floors of fun that would be filled to capacity during busy times. When you enter the premises, check in and sign the waiver online. An employee will take you to your booth and give you a safety briefing on how to throw the ax - pay attention to the instructions on how to throw the ax, take a few practice throws and have fun! During the rounds, stop by the bar for some beer (or other libations) - unfortunately, when we visited, some of the beers on tap were empty...fortunately, can beers filled in. In addition to the bar, there is a kitchen serving decent bar food. We ordered tacos - they were good + beer + ax throwing made it a fun evening. Located in the Northeast part of DC, a mix of industrial and commercial area - street parking may be available, but if not, there is a garage close by. Would I visit again? Definitely! A fun time.

Who knew axe throwing is so fun!? Kick Axe is easily one of my favorite places to go for a night out. Chill, laid back, decent food, music and of course, vibes. You'll need a reservation which can be done on their website. On a slow day (work day), you might luck up and have a spot to yourself. On the weekends, it's almost guaranteed you'll be axing with other folks. If you head upstairs, there's pinball? I think that's what it is. You're throwing a football at pins (bowling pins). While fun, I thought it was hard. Maybe because I'm vertically challenged and have no aim? Lol Anyway, definitely a great time. Bring friends or your date and have a good time!

Great spot to release your inner "Lumber Jack" and have a great time with your friends or family! Came here last night to celebrate a friend's birthday and had a blast! From the Axe trowing experience.....to the overall vibe, atmosphere, the service, food & drinks...."EVERYTHING" was on point. Kick Axe Throwing offers up a unique experience and so much fun all under one roof! Everything was great from start to finish! We got here at the time of our reservation and were quickly escorted to our axe throwing area. The staff member showing us how to throw axes was professional and friendly. He was good at teaching us how to throw correctly and would give us tips/tricks when needed! The venue is huge and sort like transports you into a modern-like lodge vibe....with lots of chill, lounge spaces, neon lit coves, and fireplace seating. The menu and eats here is mostly bar food, and quick eats...like wings, pizza and sliders to name a few. And, everything I tried was a Thumbs Up! For those not interested in "getting your frustration out with an axe," there's plenty other activities and things to do here....from playing some interesting board games, catching up on your sport/games for the night on many flat panel TV's around the place....to a totally whole-nother vibe upstairs that takes on an outdoor beer-garden feel....all in doors! Yes! There's even an upstairs spot called "Throw Social" in the upstairs portion of this venue that offers up live concerts, a DJ spinning and dance floor, indoor "throw football" bowling...which was really cool...different, so much fun....and lots of chill lounge/cabana spaces to just relax and take it all in. Definitely, not a dull moment in this place. In all, lot's of fun! A great way to decompress from the work week and enjoy a time well spent with friends, family or to go on a date night! I definitely got some frustrations out...and kick some "Axxxe!" Will definitely be back! * Yelp Elite Insider Tip: Parking is limited around the venue. Avoid getting an expensive parking ticket or tow....and use the parking garage across the street. This way you spend more time having fun and don't have to keep worry about feeding the meter!

For a solid hour, you're like, "Wow... I am bougie like they say." Then the bartender calls out "Last call!" And as you take one final dramatic sip of your fancy drink, the lights come on like someone just hit the emergency button and whoa. Wait just one minute, I don't want to go home. That's when the migration begins. In Union Market, there's a place where all the local residents take their talents once the posh restaurants shut down and that place is Last Call Bar, the bar that welcomes you and your rapidly declining standards with open arms. And the food? Oh, the food is a spiritual journey. They kick things off with Jell‑O shots, which already tells you exactly what kind of night you're about to have. But it gets even better. They have food and the menu is full of options only a person who drank 5 cocktails could truly appreciate, the kind of late‑night masterpieces that would horrify you at noon but taste like gourmet brilliance after midnight. I'll take a hot dog please! The vibe is pure "we should've gone home but didn't" energy. The music is loud enough to drown out your responsibilities. The crowd is a mix of restaurant refugees, people who swore they were having an early night, and folks who are definitely lying to themselves about how early they have to wake up. It's a diverse crowd. More on the younger side but a sprinkle of adults that have kids in college or corporate jobs. The bartenders deserve awards for dealing with customers who insist they're "totally fine" while holding onto the bar like it's a support beam. And honestly? That's the magic. The best memories happen during the real happy hours of our days, bedtime hours, when you're either having way too much fun in the sheets or making the kind of decisions you'll laugh about (or regret) the next day. Last Call Bar isn't curated. It isn't polished. It isn't pretending. It's the place where your bougie persona quietly steps aside and you says, "Let's get a hot dog". If you want a place where the night gets a second wind and your dignity takes a short break, welcome home. Let's get into it! Drinks - Perfectly made! Way to go to the bartender!
