A couple of days later, a R&H employee called me (I think her name was India) and asked if I could move my time to either 12:30pm or in the evening - 5:30pm because when I booked, there was some kind of system glitch. She didn't really provide any great details, but I assumed she was telling me that two groups were booked at the same time. It sounded a bit sketchy to me since she didn't really provide much details. I told her that I don't think it would work for us, but I would reach out to my colleagues. I reached out to everyone in my party and as suspected, the earlier time did not work for the entire group. I reached back out via text to let R&H know. The next day, someone called me again and told me that if I cannot move up to 12:30pm or later in the day, then they will have to cancel the booking and I will be refunded for it. Despite booking less than a week before the event, I had been planning a teambuilding event with my colleagues for over a month. I didn't want the opportunity to go to waste, so I reluctantly agreed to move to the 12:30pm timeslot. R&H did tell us we can return free of charge in the future due to inconvenience. When we arrived on Saturday November 23rd, we had a colleague who was arriving a couple of minutes late. We were informed that we would still have to end on time because there was a party scheduled afterward. HMMMMM!!! This is when my suspicions became confirmation. I always suspected there was something odd about the "system glitch." I don't believe there was a glitch... I believe there was someone who wanted to host a party there, during the timeslot we originally booked. I totally get why they would want to cancel our session - they would receive a lot more money from the party than our group. I do, however, think this was a bad business decision. This was something that showed a lack of integrity... I would have preferred they be honest and say, "hey, someone really wants your timeslot." I don't like the way they handled this at all. Because of this, I am deducting two stars from what would have been a five star review. If you're interested in reading about the actual escape room experience, here it is: Despite the escape room being a bit dusty (it needs a cleaning under and around some areas), we had a BLAST in the actual escape room. We did the Cell Block room and we did not escape, unfortunately. It was definitely a challenge! Maybe if we had our fifth group member we would have made it further. It was so much fun and it looked like it was a Black owned business. I love supporting Black owned businesses but I am not sure I can support this one based on how they move. Despite being able to return for free, I don't think I will... who's to say there won't be a "system glitch" when I book again?

I booked a ticket for 2 through the Arlington County Fair website for the mobile escape room. Online the hours for the escape room said 10am-11pm, but there were no specific time slots to reserve (first come, first serve). Based on the hours listed, we arrived at 11am. No one was at the booth at 11am, although it was set up, so we assumed that they were on a break to grab food or in the restroom and had taken all of the cash register items with them. We decided to go on a couple rides and came back to the booth around 11:30 and it was still untouched. We called the number listed on the trailers 3 times before finally getting someone to answer. We were told that the booth hours were actually 12/12:30 for the opening time (??) but someone would be "right over to help us". We waited another hour (past the 12:30 time originally stated) and no one showed up to work the booth. We tried calling again and no one answered the number listed. I'm not sure if the person that was supposed to work that day just up and quit, but there needed to be better communication if that was the case, versus someone ignoring our phone calls and the booth never opening.

Which wouldn't normally annoy me, however today she specifically wrote her number down and told me to call as soon as I had updated info. 5 minutes after leaving I called over 9 times spanning 15/20 minutes. I went back in and called when I walked in to see if their phones were broke. They rang and no one got up or even looked at the phone. So basically just go in if you need anything. The admin office in the back is much better with customer service. They actually talk to you like a human. The nature trails here are lovely, beaches are gorgeous and the gate guards are so kind. People will throw your laundry out of the wash so beware of the selfish people that come. It's nice that there's so many cabins because it is easy to have last minute visitors make a reservation.

(2 players able to get 18 in an hour with a pretty generous putting gimme) virtual driving range, and cant say enough about Nick's private lessons. Nick is a great teacher, fun, and personable. Also pro tip look out for Above Par's no pressure free fitting days ... definitely helped me narrow down the father's day wish list. Ryan is great and ready to assist when the wife gives me the green light.

While I can't quite claim to be Jason Bourne or John Rambo going after a wild Boar, after about ten throws you can get the axe to stick consistently. June 19, 2025…read more Chesapeake Hills Golf Course - Best Shape I've Ever Seen It In It's been just over a year since my last review, and I've only played once since the new clubhouse was completed -- but wow, what a difference that upgrade has made! The clubhouse looks great inside and has a lot more merchandise than I've ever seen there before. I haven't tried the food yet, but I've heard it's pretty good. Today, I played with my son -- our first round together in a few years -- and it was a very reasonable $90 for both of us (with cart for 18 holes). I'd heard from others that the course was starting to look really nice again, and they weren't wrong. As we pulled up to the first tee, I noticed the putting green on the left was in the best condition I've ever seen it. I told my son right away -- you can tell they've really been working hard to turn this place around. The tee boxes and fairways were well-cut and in excellent shape. After a few holes, I started to realize just how much improvement has been made. There used to be a lot of bare dirt or gravel patches throughout the course, but now most of those areas have healthy grass growing. The greens were smooth and well-trimmed, and putts rolled nicely. I especially noticed the 2nd hole (par 3 over water) -- the area just past the water used to be rough and patchy, but now it's fully filled in with lush grass.

Fortunately, things have changed for the better, but not everything. So lets start with the things that still need to be addressed. First one is the people working there. They seem pretty unhappy with life and it shows. Often they seen disgruntled and you're annoying them to ask for anything. The next one, is hole 15. That hole just needs to be revamped, it sucks. Finally, the driving range is garbage. The grass is often missing and its tough to often find some actual grass to hit off of. I would recommend that they put hitting mats up top and close the grass part to rejuvenate them on a regular basis. also, it doesn't help when they tell you not to hit drivers. I mean come on, that's the most fun part of hitting the range, blasting bombs with the driver. Now, lets talk about what's gotten better. right off the bat, you'll notice the new clubhouse. its nice and has a nice external relaxation area. Well done Calvert County. To go along with the clubhouse is the repaving of the parking lot, which may not seem like much, but it really makes the whole picture look that much better. The conditions at the course have gotten much better. Are there still some areas for improvement, yes (talking to you guy that dumps the clippings around the greens or in areas that are in plain sight) but for the most part they are good. the greens were in great shape, the fairways were good, and the roughs were not just all weeds as I experienced previously. The biggest thing that surprised me were the on course personnel. For the first time ever, i actually say a refreshments cart driving around. I have been going here since the 1980's when I used to work there, and in all that time, I NEVER saw a refreshments cart. Also, there was a starter AND a marshal driving around, which I have never seen as well. So well done CHGC, in upping your game. Please try and keep it going!!
