Terrible! I went with a few friends to check this new place out. Nothing really special about it. Drinks are just as overpriced as any other place in Ivy City. I ordered one drink downstairs and got a tall glass, the same drink in the upstairs bar came on a short glass/tumbler. This is a great place to bring a group of friends for an fun night out. It's a very lively place, it was packed when I went, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Our instructor quickly taught us how to throw an axe, it really quite easy. I had two bullseyes! We didn't try any food or drinks, but they have plenty of both. Had a fantastical time at Kick Axe last night. I've been wanting to go for ages, but none of my friends showed any type of interest - Luckily, my new boyfriend did, so yay to BDE. We were part of group with two other couples (which was a bit concerning due to the pandemic and now everyone is socially awkward, but it was actually fun). Takes a few tries to get it right, but once you do, you feel like an olympian. This place is so much fun and the atmosphere/decor is so trendy. The drinks were really good and strong but the food was not that great. It was like frozen food that they heated quickly and served to absorb some of the alcohol. If you want a really good meal, eat before you come here. For the ladies, there is a fair amount of seating, but wear flats. Even though the food was less that stellar, I still give this place a 5. It's that much fun! If it wasn't for Sam my experience here would be sub par. She was very friendly and engaging. She is able to handle big obnoxious groups while still being able to take care of mine. I wish there was a way to compensate her more because she creates a fun environment w/ no judgement and she's so funny!!! I wish I knew about tipping the facilitators cause they can only get tips in cash or using money apps which I don't have sadly :( I will definitely be coming back for my bday just to see her and give her what she deserves! Ask for her and you will be pleased! The bar was slow but the drinks are great, I wish they had more bartenders to make it smoother cause I had to wait 10 mins before I got some help. This place is a cool experience if you've never been before. It's a cool Paul Bunyan chic kind of vibe. The music was nice. The people working there are friendly. My husband really enjoyed throwing the axe. It's definitely a workout. I'd say it may take you at least half your session to get the correct technique down if you've never done it before. You can pay for either a private throwing lane or a lane you have to share. It wasn't busy when we went so we were able to have a lane to ourselves even though we didn't pay for a private lane. A nice employee, this guy who went by an initial- I think it was H. maybe- was cool and thoroughly explained the whole process and went thru the scoring and some game options with us. After we were done throwing the axes, we went over to the bar area and hung out for a while. We ended up ordering the pretzels and beer cheese which wasn't bad. I do wish they had some more options on the menu. The crowd was very diverse so I can't imagine anyone feeling unwelcome there. Its def a cool spot to meet up with friends and have a good time. Me and a group of friends wanted to try a new place Friday night and booked 2 axe throwing lanes to give it a shot. We wanted to try something different rather than our local bar scene. At first we were skeptical, but the ace throwing turned out to be a hit. We were greeted by our own " axe guy" that showed us how to throw axes on a target and we had some great laughs and got a little more competitive as the drinks came in. After our hour session we wanted to check out upstairs, and it was a pleasant surprise to see how colorful and huge this place is. We ended up doing the football bowling and my wife, surprisingly was nailing the last pins. We'll definitely be coming back, we loved the vibrant atmosphere and the different fun options. Pros: The spot has a great vibe and cute decorations. They have a nice lounge area for after throwing. A very fun indoor activity during the winter months. Cons: Location isn't great, with limited parking options. I recommend the parking ramp across the street. Not a cheap activity though for $30 per person for just an hour-- and they are strict about the 60 minutes. If you want drinks, order then BEFORE your 60 minute clock starts because they can take a while. My friend missed 20 minutes of axe throwing waiting to get served and have his drink made. read more

I had a corporate event here for a group of 15. Everything from food selection and drink tickets were worked out smoothly in advance with the event coordination staff. We rented 2 ranges for 2 hours. Most of the team had not been axe throwing before. We showed up and had one of the experts give us tips for throwing and he set up a few games. Several people told me it was an awesome event! The host who was working by the elevators short was so rude (this was literally just a few minutes ago) and had an attitude because we were telling her it was our first time and she kept saying you have a reservation or not with her rolling her eyes. Not sure why she's a host to begin with if she gonna have that type of attitude and is not a people person. I literally told her I'm not spending my money for shit ass service like hers. This place is so fun! I love that you get to try something new (axe throwing) and also get some fun cocktails and meet other people. The instructor made me feel really comfortable throwing the axe and even gave us some pointers. The drinks were really good except the bartenders were extremely busy and it did take a while to get a drink. The management should definitely hire more bartenders for the weekends. I thought this place was cool. We had a reservation for ax throwing at 8 on a Friday night but got there early so we had a drink and an appetizer at the bar. The food took some time to arrive but tasted ok when it arrived. Even though our reservation was at 8, they got behind so they told us to check back in at 815 so we did. We started throwing at 815, but at 9, out coach told us our session was over, which was wrong because we didn't get started until 815. Irritating to say the least but it ended up working out in the end. When we finished, we went upstairs to a whole other area where there were tables, games, food, music, and drink! 11/3/21 4:30pm Axe time slot. I checked in at 4:15pm and went to the bar while waiting for our booth area. The lady bartender was rude and dismissive. I asked if she was the bartender and she replied with an eye roll, "yes but I'm still prepping". I just sat there and the bartender NEVER asked if needed anything or wanted a drink. Without a drink, we were seated with another group of two even though no other lanes were in use. NOBODY else was there and yet they still put two strange parties together. The place was empty. The drinks were good but the shade was not. Stop putting strangers together when you have so many open lanes. Our instructor was nice and personable. Probably won't return on my own. read more

I hosted a work party at this location and we had an amazing time. It was a very easy setup process and were very flexible working with us on different dates and headcounts. The food was amazing and we had our own bartender for the event too. The food we had was the Pretzels with Cheese, Buffalo Chicken Empanadas, Mac and Cheese Bites, and Steak Skewers. Our team had so much fun learning how to axe throw and compete against each other. I highly recommend this space for groups of any size!
